At 20 cents a share......who cares?
Yep
Its a very simple exercise to track the Sphere share price performance.
Prior to very big run up, there is at least several BIG EXCITING press releases. Consider Corel, Dell, Microsoft, $40 million goal, Microsoft, Azure, VMware. Each BIG EVENT promoted by Sphere, and then on this board, Twitter and the newsletter resulted in a spike. The share price typically doubled, only to slowly resume its death spiral to a new low once the reality replaced the excitement.
So, now we see the same pattern. Somebody has made an unsolicited offer. Yeah! And so the stock goes up 50-100%.
What happens next? Well, may I suggest you look at the stock chart. At every trough there is a corresponding promotion, and then a sharp rise, followed by a progressively new low. Rinse and repeat
Of course, I might be completely misinterpreting the news and affect on the share price.
But, I'm not.......
You do know its the same PR, right?
Frankly, that would make sense. Tandberg and Overland, though dying, have some sort of installed base, though not much. The cost of acquisition for new clients is high, so a company might be willing to acquire the Tandberg/Overland base at fire sale prices.
That would provide management with cash to continue the "Glassware" story and delay the inevitable.
They might even be able to spin a new story. Let's speculate. Perhaps something like this:
"we have learned over the last three years that our technology has many potential markets and uses, and have identified that Glassware's ubiquitous front end technology provides a universal browser for all mobile devices. This capability would solve the incompatibility issues that vendor specific browsers like Safari, Explorer and Chrome have today. With over five billion mobile devices in use today, this market has untapped potential"
Would investors hold on to their shares and even buy more in the hopes of a successful pivot and recovery of the share price?
I have no doubt that many would, but of course, this is just speculation.
Blah blah blah. No client named. No client contact named.
For all we know, this could be Sphere itself that they are referencing. How many times have we heard about some big deal, some big partner agreement? We even saw an article written by Simon Branfitt suggesting that a large school board, CCPS, was using Glassware to deliver Windows apps to 30,000 students using Chromebooks.
How did that work out? And please note, in Mr. Bramfitt's article, there wasn't a single quote from anyone at either Sphere or CCPS.
HINT: if there isn't a quote from a client representative, the PR is valueless.
Yeah, and they also claim on their web site that that Glassware can deliver Apple iOS and OSX apps, plus mainframe, AIX and Android.
Hands up all of you that have seen those demonstrated ONCE in the last three years.
PS Glassware is based on Windows Server. Please look at the graphic on their web site that purports to show the Glassware architecture. It clearly shows Msft RDP as a component.
We can buy a copy of Windows Server today and use RDP (RDSH) to deliver Win 32 apps.Sphere has the right to call its product and package its product as they wish. "Glassware" includes the core capabilities of Win Server. Connect the dots.
RE Novaglass. Seems Novarad dropped the product, at least according to their web site and marketing staff.
So, what happened to the thousands of systems Novarad was going to upgrade? Why would they drop it with all that potential revenue ready to hit the books?
Perhaps Peter Bookman or Mark Watts can provide some insight.
:)
A secure enterprise. I assume they stood something up internally at Sphere :)
You do know the difference between Win32 and XP apps, right? And that per Peter Bookman, Glassware could only deliver XP (i.e. 16 bit) apps, and that Win32 apps required custom work.
In general terms, does "buyer beware" justify fraud? Did Bernie Madoff's victims have a valid case against him?
Should be interesting to see how this turns out.
Note: they didn't mention any client name, or offer a quote from any client contact. Very odd indeed, and definitely not standard marketing practice.
Get an answer from the company. Good luck with that!!
The IP re Glassware is worthless. You do realize that without Microsoft Windows Server, Glassware does not work. And with Microsoft Windows Server, you can deliver every single capability, and more, than what Sphere has been able to demonstrate. Why would any client even bother testing it never mind buying it and deploying it. No reason whatsoever, and the revenue over the last three years proves it.
Speak to TTommy and and Donkschmonk.
Really? I am very busy, and I think Hugo is off to Hawaii for four weeks to relax with his family. I understand he bought a nice place on the beach using his profits on this one. And of course, the bonus money from OPUS Bank.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Still the same Jock :)
I think you are confusing gloating with the satisfaction of being proven right. Both Hugo and I know people have been hurt financially. Sadly, they were warned and elected to ignore the warnings .
There's a reason he's an "effer"
I don't think I got a single message from him that didn't include at east three F words per sentence.
Yes, someone drove by the offices, saw the garage sale and made a low ball offer on the coffee machine.
May I suggest that you donate to the Salvation Army instead. At least they will put the money to good use. Do you think the execs at Sphere need to squeeze more out of this than they already have?
Did someone ask why Sphere senior execs were selling their shares??
Weeeee!!!!!!!!!
Weeeee!!!!!!!!!
From mid 2015
No wonder this POS is in the toilet at 40 cents.
This post and the links included have nothing to do with Sphere.
Who knows? Lets be frank, have you ever really been able to know who owns what?
Me? A bear? Now, how did you get that idea? I think the combination of the all of these techs is a sure fire winner. I just can't understand how they keep fumbling the kickoff, and dropping almost every handoff and pass.
Any ideas why?
Of course, that $50 Billion is spread over the CEO's project plan spanning 300 years.
Hugo, that's crazy talk. Why would they tear apart the company and sell one of the crown jewels in Overland Storage. Storage is one of the four pillars of the Third Platform. The multiplier of Overland/ Tandberg. V3 and Glassware is YUUUGE.
The company is clearly trading far below what it should be trading at today. The value and multiplier effect of the combined technologies clearly has not been factored into the share price. Only a handful of companies can do what Sphere does. This should drive the price to at least $20 soon. The share price is clearly the result (for those that care to look carefully) of a concerted effort to destroy the company. It wouldn't surprise me if companies like VMware, Dell and Microsoft are behind this effort. They know they cannot compete head to head so are using financial manipulation from behind the scenes to destroy the company. Lets not forget that Michael Dell himself put people in Sphere to learn more about the company. No way he risks his billionaire status to a competitor like Sphere.
I think that after the New Year we will see Sphere SP take off.
Not necessarily Hugo. Look carefully at the partner names on some of the other grants Mr Kim received 2015-2016.
And then cross reference to the original Sphere investor list. You know the ones that loaded up at half a cent a share.
Sure, sure it will. Glassware will be an enabler for cloud.
After doing your "thousands of hours of research" did you find anyone that uses it? It's ONLY been three years since it was announced, so please share with us your findings on user experiences. I am sure you spoke with Dustin Hardin at New Casey ISD in Texas, or CCPS. Perhaps you can share the feedback you received from Dell. Maybe you can give us the feedback from Jason Katcher of Google. I'm sure you have test data you can share with us.
PS Sphere has ZERO solutions for BIG DATA, and AI. Note: many people would say that they don't have solutions for cloud either with exception of reselling Azure. But you knew that.
Where to begin? No revenue, no problem? Ok, do you take earn your business degree at Trump U?
The Third Platform? A nice talking point for Kelly on a call. But, that's all it is.
Glassware is disruptive? Yes, it is. It has been proven to disrupt the savings of hundreds, possibly thousands of retail investors.
Sphere and medical imaging. Oh yeah, I guess you didn't hear the news that Novorad no longer sells Novaglass.(at least it is no longer on their web site)
I guess all those hospitals that Sphere was projecting to upgrade won't be happening either.
Hers a question: has a single forecast, big partner deal or POC come to fruition?
What happened to all the revenue from Education and Google and Chromebooks?
What happened to all the revenue from all those Dell products that had Glassware embedded? What happened to all the revenue from Dell Drive?
What happened to all the revenue from Atos and Ericsson?
What happened to all that revenue from Entisys, Novarad, Tech Data and the the ISP in the mid west?
What happened to al that revenue from the last year on Microsoft Azure? Yes, it has been a full year on Azure!
While you are at it, can someone tell us what happened to all those sandbox systems that Bookman said were going to be available for testing Glassware? And his "chaos of success"?
Hey, what happened to the $40 million goal?
Hey, how you doing these days? Getting ready to jump back in on all the big Sphere news? The company is everywhere these days :)
Sounds like someone is well underwater
Hey Henjo, who said this?
"Be a cold day in hell before they get another nickel of my money without some hard & fast revenue figures."
Still waiting on those revenue hard and fast revenue figures?
Not at all. What you should care about is simple: Being in the position to either verify or invalidate the claims made on this board.
I've been in this industry for a while, and make the effort to reach out to people that know more than I do about specific tech subjects. I just politely ask them for help, and their opinion. I suggest you do the same.
PS It's not like I am claiming to have a personal relationship with the President of the United States and can walk unescorted into any secure government facility, right? But what sort of clown would claim that?
Thats it Coma, just keep tagging any announcement in the tech industry in the hope you can bump the share price.
Or do you have inside information that is not yet available to the public? :)
And by the way, you may have missed this but Workspot is partnered with Nutanix, the largest player in hyper-converged appliance tech for VDI, and Sphere's biggest competitor in the space.
We have been told Sphere has partnerships with some of the biggest names in the industry - Dell, VMware, Microsoft, Google, and over 20,000 dedicated Sphere resellers, plus companies like Novorad and Entisys (hey, what ever happened to them?). Yet, all Sphere has delivered is a BIG FAT ZERO and continuous quarterly losses.
Those are facts, not opinions. It never ceases to amaze me that retail investors on this board are better informed about Sphere IP than the entire IT industry that has looked at Glassware and said "meh".
