Its not my job or my intent to educate you on VPLM and its history, past or present. Do your own DD, form a opinion and go from there. I, for one feel that there is considerable value in the patents. We can disagree, thats fine. I have been invested for 3 1/2 years and feel more strongly than ever that the value of my investment is there...
Good luck
I believe what I see. There are legal teams and technical professionals teaming up with VPLM to fight the fight. The white papers, though written with a slant, propose the technology is fundamental. That is for multiple patents. Not just one. Seems that all the arguments against VPLM lump all the patents together. To me, that seems pretty short sided. Maybe just 5 patents, or only one, RBR for instance is valid. Guess what, that alone is worth big, big $. Ever see a European bill for wireless access while traveling across country....
The child patents were issued to strengthen the origional patents which had already been issued. That is what they tried to stop. I thought that was obvious since the origional patent suite was purchased years prior.
Then why did Apple and Microsoft try and stop the patent process, with their own version of the technology. Why did VPLM spend years getting patent continuations and child patents for the origional patents. If it goes that far, we will see what the courts decide. The efforts by Apple and Microsoft to stop the awarding of the patents will be used against them..pretty strong evidence they knew they were infringing. They must figure a court judgement may be cheaper in the long run..All just speculation
That seems like a convenient name, Patent Troll..Used by companies or individuals who use patented ideas or technology for benefit without the permission from the patent holder. Theft: Term used when others benefit from patented ideas without the patents holders permission.
Apple, Microsoft et al...Theives....
Educated: Just can't spell patents....
Soooo..When VPLM serves the lawsuit and continues with the process, what are you going to call it then? Microsoft and Apple tried in vain to stop the patients from being issued. Why? They tried to have their own patients issued, did not happen. Prior art.
So what evidence do you point to as a shakedown? Seems like years of effort, money invested (even if it is investor money) and a calculated strategy. They have stated for years they are trying to monitize the patients, either through licensing agreements or outright sale of the patient suite. Shakedown, I doubt it.
Just my educated opinion...
VVVVV: In poker its called bluffing! You go all in with a hand, (usually not a strong one) and hope the other guy folds. Great technique if you have the poker face and a weak aponent. This is just one big poker tournament to see who has the stronger hand, or who blinks first.
Hey Stef. I truly did not think this was the path that this company would take. I like it. I think it takes balls to go this route and eventually will be the most likely to make the value go way higher. I really had no intent, all investors have their own idea of whats enough. There are sellers and buyers of the stock at every level, but to wait it out to the end will take some patients if the lawsuits are played out. Looks like all the longs will make some $$. Now its just how much.
Good Luck To You.
I stand by my previous post. I have been long for over 4 years and I wonder how many Investors in VPLM will wait it out til the end....Whatever that is, a sale, or winning a Lawsuit in 4 years. Regardless, it is great news.
GLTA
I wonder how many VPLM investors have the stomach to roll around in the mud in the court system with the likes of Apple and Microsoft. VirnetX filed suits in 2012, roughly 3 1/2 years ago. Expensive and risky to do this without a bankroll, and the big boys know this. Patient trolls have been around a long time(not saying VPLM is one) and the large companies can drag the court cases out for years. Does VPLM have the capital to finance such a battle. I doubt it. Microsoft settled for 200M with VirnetX. In terms of investor return after expenses that would not even cover the current pps. for VPLM.
The BOD has insisted it wants to sell. The letters were sent to try and convince someone that it would be a wise investment to buy VPLM rather than face a lawsuit, and also have the patents to either sue the competition or bury the patients. Uplisting will give VPLM more visibility on the world market stage. VPLM can yell and tout its patents, but nobody is listening. I have been long for a while and am waiting for a real event, not just puff press releases..
Spread "What out" This huge sell off, making tons of money on it. LOL. If anyone is hanging on to this stock to day or move trade, they are nuts. I can think of tons of ways to make day move money, but this is not one of them. Heck, Silver would be better with its moves over the last 12 months. The volume is there and the hard value is there...Good luck with your $90.00 move.
I must admit, you have a profound understanding of the technology. The white papers do give us a very detailed explaination of the technology and I have read them as they have been put out to the public. What I question is the Boards ability to properly market the product or gain monitary compensation from patent infringers. There are costs associated with long drawn out litigation, and I have yet to see any indication of interest from ANY company.
The "Value" of the Technology is set by the market, and any companies interested in aquiring VPLM"s assets. Years have gone by with the same claim of an intrinsic value. My question to you is, when is the value to become an actual number with interest from multiple parties?!
I don't believe so either. They don't have the volume or share control to keep the pps above a dollar. There would have to be some big money investors to prop up the pps and I'm not convinced they have the "goodies" they claim to have. I have been an investor for 3 1/2 years to the month and the pps today is exactly what I initially paid...Wish I would have played the stock like i normally do, but liked the long of it. Now, not so much.
15 to one reverse split!
closer, I'm not sure if there is a sarcastic tone to your question. I believe VPLM is moving towards a sale of its patent portfolio. This is based on the lawsuit, audit and the continued pursuit of child patents to strengthen the position it has in the market. I do not believe the majority shareholders are satisfied with sub $.10 pps. The volume does not support wholesale selling of large blocks of shares,,It would take years to sell just 100m shares and not collaps the pps...Just a working mans opinion.
Budman, In my opinion the court case could be the single most important hold up in the potential sale of VPLM. Its a matter of ownership of the company. 100M shares is roughly 10% of the outstanding shares. With the ownership of those shares in question, it NEEDS to be settled one way or another before a sale could be completed. The fact that VPLM has ordered an audit and is pressing the case foreward in NV points to a offer of some kind. I have had stock in 3 different companies that were purchased or acquired and each have followed this type of protocol. Obviously, this just my opinion but feel positive about the direction of the events. GLTA
With 1B shares outstanding(roughly). If VPLM sold for 5B then the share value would be $5.00 per share, 10B then $10 per share. Don't start spending it yet. Per share value of anything over $1.00 would be outstanding.....This is just as risky as black or red on a craps table. We as share holders know very little other than there are "game changing" patents.
We will see how valuable these patients are at some point.
Hey Beer: We all are in the same leaky boat. All we can do is wait it out because there is no value in selling at this level unless you were in sub .01 and bought Millions of shares. The BOD and principals probably own 90+% of the shares leaving roughly 100m divided up among us. That being said, they have no reason or need to give up information even if they had any. The only thing that is positive is that their shares are not being traded in volume which would pay off, soooo, I'm saying there is still a chance for this sinking boat.
Less than $1100 worth of stock traded and the pps falls 7%. What a Joke. I hope I'm wrong, but were screwed.
Great! Now its come down to begging the BOD to give us some useless information. I think its time to face the fact that the patents are NOT as vital as we were led to believe. I've been in this stock for 1 1/2 years and have yet to see ONE valid announcement! Just a bunch of fluff and forward looking statements that have no weight. We as shareholders can only wait and see (hope) that the company has some value and recoup some of our losses. The volume is a joke, there is NO WAY you can sell any volume without the bottom dropping out of this dog! I'm with all you longs, just because we have no choice.....GLTA
I does look like the BOD has elected to just let the majority of share holders swing in the wind with no hard information just opinions by the directors. IE, "we believe", "we think" bla bla bla.
I can't believe there are people still buying this stock. It must be to support the price, not to invest.
So Sawyer steps down due to pressure from rest of BOD to accept an offer that Sawyer thinks is too low. Not willing to accept the offer on the table, but under pressure from the fellow BOD members, he steps down not willing to put his signature on the sale. Still in the loop, but not on top of the heap. The sale of VPLM is now on the fast track with more than one offer, but below the value put on the technology by Dr. Sawyer.
May be good, may be just ok...we just don't know the pps of the sale! IMHO.
Just a parasite company looking to capitalize on the sale or merger of companies. Happens on every sale, purchase or merger....good luck guys.
Next week is going to be a fun run.
Hi Guys, first post here on VPLM. Interesting reading the different opinions on the stock and its Board. It makes me realize NONE of us know what is going on with the stock, other than public notices and trading history. I trade on a regular basis and am long on VPLM but have made recent purchases also.
I don't see the typical P and D in tha analysis of the stocks progess for the past 1.5 years. There is no appreciable down volume for the D (Dump). Looks to me like a normal progression of a company trying to build its brand, install itself into a market and selling to the highest bidder or taking the best offer.
Don't want to be too long winded, but reading the messages, you should be in or out. Not Kind of IN, or Kind of OUT...
Believe or not.
Im IN.
