I see the same thing, but I have been disappointed so many times, that I will not celebrate yet.
The charts make me believe that a proposal for "end of C-ship" is coming soon.
Maybe today or tomorrow after hours.
Something could be leaking out!
Also the proposal for C-ship exit is due next week. Again something could be leaking out.
Yes, the USG has to deal with the law suits.
Even Donald Layton stated in one of his articles last year: USG needs to settle the law suits; the longer they wait the more the plaintiffs will take advantage of this.
The single director is the issue.
Sandra Thompson may be there for a while.
HERA was meant to be temporary and should be repealed.
FHFA may survive, if restructured.
But, who knows? USG has violated the laws before.
Calhoun may be okay, but I vote for Thompson.
The last 3 days showed more action in this case than the last 9 months.
Maybe Thompson and Yellen want to make something happen.
This could be why they held off on the nomination of Calhoun as a single director.
First the government needs to decide how to restructure the FHFA.
The interim director is something they can get away with until the FHFA is restructured.
I agree that 4617(f) needs to be removed before confirming a new director, but will Biden/congress care?
Biden appointed an interim director without removing 4617(f).
The other broad: Sheila Bair.
Congress is not out of this.
During Mnuchin's confirmation hearings Mnuchin had to promise that he would work with Congress on conservatorship exit.
Graig Phillips said that Mnuchin wanted to stop NWS and C-ship immediately, but found out that it was an uphill battle, politically.
I believe Congress is pulling the strings.
Thanks Guido.
Maybe the administration can work with Congress.
Congress would not let Trump have any victory.
Waiting on Congress to do something.
Watt, Mnuchin, Otting and Calabria failed, because of Congress. Congress can overrule anything they would have done. When Watt raised the salaries of the CEO's Congress overruled it quickly.
Trump had his chance, but the Capitol riot messed it up.
But there is hope. A proposal for conservatorship exit, from Treasury and FHFA, is due to Congress by 9/30/21. Last week’s stress test results were positive. Timothy Howard was requested, by a congress member, to write an exit strategy.
It is shame that we are at the mercy of a dictatorial Congress. People who we elect and only care about their own programs.
It makes you wonder why the attorneys bring up choice 2. Government has stolen too much already.
I guess the attorneys want to strike a deal; some deal is better than no deal. I would not support that proposition.
Yes. I hope all the law suits will hit FHFA and Treasury as hard as possible, now that it is confirmed that anybody has the right to sue.
There is no good reason for a reverse split.
The only time it gets done is when there is a concern that the PPS goes too low for the stock exchange.
PPS of 10 will not stop the law suits.
When the government wants to settle they will have to do better than that.
Government violated HERA.
Among other things the conservator did not conserve and preserve as required by HERA.
Congress cannot move quick enough. SCOTUS will rule before Congress can act.
Glad you can smell it. You were not able to see it.
Always believed that Mnuchin/Trump wanted to stop the conservatorship and NWS.
I like to know who these hardliners are.
I got in with 130K shares at 72 cents average.
Unfortunately I have had to sell shares to pay bills (tax).
I am down to 93K.
Good luck.
Just kidding.
In 2013 when we had a run from 30 cents to 6 dollars somebody wrote "Qatar money coming in" every time there was a good day.
I have no more info than anybody else.
Qatar money coming in... LOL
Both cases on track to go to trial.
However with a favorable ruling from the SCOTUS the cases could go away.
Would not surprise me.
Lamberth was retired, but came back. Not sure, if it was only for this case.
Sweeney retired, but the case was transferred to Judge Schwartz.
Both cases still alive.
"We have Thomas/Gorsuch/Alito/Breyer need Kavanaugh or Barrett"
Justice would be 9 - 0.
If anybody knew the PPS would be 40 already.
Did somebody tell Yellen that she is no longer working for the Federal Reserve Bank?
Yes, the article is from last week.
Yes, can't wait for their shorts to come down.
I like Toomey's statement. First good thing from banking committee.
Thanks.
The article made me wonder what/who made him write that.
It still bothers me.
HERA was meant to be temporary and should have been repealed several years back. Do-nothing congress is the problem.
These numbers were book values, not PPS.
Based on P.E. ratio the PPS values can be lot higher.
I wonder how much it cost to write that document?
The money is there somewhere. What happened to the cash reserves they had before the conservatorship?
"Cannot seem to break $1.92. Is there a wall set up?"
Biden is going to cancel the wall.
LOL
