You can bet this trades for a dollar, maybe less, if the FDA rejects Lorcaserin. Arena may never make a profit, if they do, it won't be for years and years to come.
HUGE RISK. RECONSIDER YOUR POSITIONS WHILE YOU STILL HAVE TIME.
It could be weeks before the FDA makes a decision??
I thought approval and a double on the news was a sure thing...?
now you will be surprised if you make money...?
I have had as much as I want to risk at play since Friday.
I suggest you take the advice you just gave me. Within reason of course, you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.
don't want, maybe. don't need? LOL
we are just trying to save you some money :(
Consumer group urges FDA to reject Arena diet drug
http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/06/27/consumer-group-urges-fda-to-reject-arena-diet-drug/
Anytime a few shares are sold it's a bear raid? LOL
P.S. Is it approved?
hmm how should I use them? (it?)
to inform you of your delusions? no, that would be pointless as you are also in denial so your brain uses any and all mental tricks it can to convince itself that it is right.
to remind early investors to take their profit? no, that's probably pointless too as they are greedy and waiting for $100 a share.
to quote warren buffett? "be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." there is a lot of greed to be seen by message board posters surrounding ARNA, and they have no fear of any adverse event tomorrow. alright. thats what I will do. quote warren buffet.
"Rule No. 1: Never lose money. Rule No. 2: Never forget Rule No. 1."
hope everyone is in the green.... I am...
EDIT: Also this:
"It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price."
people selling shares is a lot more reasonable than m&ms taking your money
Thoughts on what will happen if we don't hear anything from the FDA tomorrow?
A sucker is born every day
9 is STRONG resistance now. it might float around 9 for a bit but it won't be able to hold
terrible idea- protect your profits guys! Who cares about the company or the drug- its your money and it is evaporating before your eyes!
nope. but I can tell that you are.
there is no "shake." it's called selling pressure. no one is trying to "load up cheap," rather, people are selling to "distribute expensive" lol.
the only way ARNA goes up tomorrow is if today ends really ugly, down >20%, and if there is approval tomorrow. but it will just be a bounce.
if no approval tomorrow... look out for the $1s
the above is IMO, I am least sure about this message than any of the others I have written with regard to how I think tomorrow and the rest of the day will play out.
muah :-*
Get out now while you still have money! APPROVAL LOOKS TO BE CERTAIN BUT THE STOCK IS GOING DOWN? it's not manipulation, the stock is overpriced and people are selling. YOU SHOULD BE SELLING!
BREAK BELOW 9 = NEXT STOP 7
POST APPROVAL TRIALS WILL BE NECESSARY
DR. GOLDFINE: Allison Goldfine.
I voted yes... I support the post approval Phase 4 CV trial that the sponsor said they would conduct.
directly from the ad comm transcript. do some DD.
Looks like dilution to me
Plenty of time left, just setting a trap for amateur hour.
but but but but... IT'S MANIPULATION! ;)
last post of the day folks, see you tomorrow.
one more thing, if you are waiting to load up on the cheap.. keep waiting :)
DR. HIATT: I voted yes. William Hiatt. In terms of one of the major issues brought up in 2010, which was the preclinical concerns around malignancies, I don't feel any real great level of expertise to comment…
DR. GOLDFINE: Allison Goldfine.
I voted yes… I support the post approval Phase 4 CV trial that the sponsor said they would conduct. [Post approval trial? Posters believing that the drug will be on the shelves days after approval are incorrect?? Why am I just now hearing about this?]
DR. KAUL: My name is Sanjay Kaul, and I voted no for the following reasons… While the FDA draft guidance does not explicitly quantify what constitutes a clinically significant degree of weight loss, the EMA guideline is somewhat more informative. It recommends that demonstration of a clinically significant degree of weight loss of at least 10 percent of baseline weight, which is also at least 5 percent greater than that associated with placebo. It is considered to be a valid primary efficacy criteria in clinical trials evaluating new anti-obesity drugs. And in my opinion, lorcaserin did not appear to meet this criteria.
DR. WEIDE: Lamont Weide. I voted yes, and I think of all the votes, this was perhaps one of the hardest. If I look like my good friend Sanjay and I look at the 3 percent change from the placebo group, I become very disappointed, and I think that was my view a couple of years ago when I voted no.
DR. SPRUILL: Ida Spruill. I voted yes. I think overall the body of evidence that was provided by the sponsors did a fairly good job of having favorable benefits versus the risks. It was a difficult decision for me as well, and I have some uncertainties, but I think in all the benefits outweigh the risks.
CHAIRMAN THOMAS: My name is Abraham Thomas.
I voted yes. I think the efficacy of this drug is actually very limited, but it did meet criteria.
DR. BRITTAIN: Erica Brittain. I voted yes, not with a lot of enthusiasm though...
DR. GREGG: Ed Gregg. I voted yes. Obviously the magnitude of the weight loss was not thrilling…
MS. WALDEN: I hesitantly voted yes. Quite frankly, if the question had been worded just a little bit different I would have probably voted no.
DR. MALARKEY: Dave Malarkey, and I voted yes. I think key words were the potential risks and potential benefits. Whether that outweighs the benefits or not should be looked at closely, and it should also depend on patient selection. But my main concern was really about the animal studies. You know, here's an agent that causes multiple tumors in multiple site at a high dose…
DR. FLEGAL: Katherine Flegal. I voted yes. I was also hesitant and my enthusiasm is not too high.
DR. YANOVSKI: I'm Jack Yanovski, and I voted yes, although with considerable reluctance like, I think, many other people around the table because of the just barely meeting the weight criteria of the percentage of folks who met 5 percent weight loss, and that's because really the problem of obesity requires a much greater weight loss to be successful.
how do you know? I didn't think the transcript was released yet
ok I will wake up as soon as you wake up and tell me where this stock will be IF NOT approved. so 60% upside on approval, my guess is ~90% downside if not approved. Sounds like a great risk/reward payout to me- not!
I don't see any pop on the approval news. Everyone has already bought expecting approval. No one is waiting to buy the stock until after approval, everyone has already bought hoping for a big payday after approval. Thus, the stock will see selling on approval (as there are no more buyers left) or denial (as everyone will be rushing to the exits as fast as possible), the only unknown is how much the price will go down.
LOL not crying, trying not to LOL at work at the DELUSIONAL posters on this board.
best of luck, but if you have an all stock position I would strongly encourage you buy some insurance in the form of put options "just in case" you and every other poster on this board turn out to not be the geniuses you believe you are.
copy and paste me something that will make me believe 1) that this drug will be approved and 2) that upon approval the stock price will go up
5) Do the available data demonstrate that the potential benefits of lorcaserin outweigh the potential risks when used long-term in a population of overweight and obese individuals?
(VOTING)
Yes: 18 No: 4 Abstain: 1
If you voted ‘Yes’ to question #5, please provide your rationale and comment on the need for and approach to patient monitoring and risk management.
Committee Discussion: Many panel members indicated that it was a very difficult vote and they reluctantly voted “Yes” that the benefits outweigh the risk for treatment of
obesity patients since the magnitude of weight loss was moderate.
you have it backwards, longs will be scrambling to sell their shares as fast as possible to protect their profits.
oh boy don't look at the PPS now :/
is that just a gut feeling? what if it dipped to $4 after you bought more at $7? then what if it dipped to $3? you will just buy buy buy buy buy?
what does everyone think will happen if approval is delayed for 90 days?
Or a lot lower if they don't get approval or if approval is delayed?
which is exactly why you need one LOL LOL LOL sell and take your profits or be sorry.
sell and take your profits or be sorry.
sell and take your profits or be sorry.
the stock has risen roughly 500% in roughly 2 months on the HOPE that one day the company can be PROFITABLE
lol trust me I thought of that. I understand that companies have value when they sell a profitable product. however, there is FAR too much RISK to justify a position in this stock right now, for me at least. perfection is hard to obtain, and the stock is priced to perfection. I am happy with my put options because I'd rather be skeptical when everyone else is optimistic.
"buy when others are fearful, and sell when others are greedy." - warren buffett
it's incredible to me that we have laws prohibiting this. its just a law for the sake of having a law. it's impossible to prosecute. ALWAYS ASSUME THAT THE MARKET IS MANIPULATED, BECAUSE IT IS. don't cry when it happens because it happens every second the market is open.
