MSTX - ALERT - $.85 Something about an article from Pedone??? check mstx board for info. just an fyi - its flying.
NAVB : next catlyst(s) dates are???
Thanks Blueman. Will hold for... any profit - then sell. Either 2 hours, or today or tomorrowish.
CTIX - Thanks mucho fam401! I'll be looking over their charts in the next few days or whenever I can to see if fits for me, or if there's something else offering something better. All about risk/reward.
Now I know why you own the stock (and you know again too).
Anyone else care to check on financials or anything else on CTIX?
I still have a sick kid at home (who's much much better) so my schedule is a bit off.
Thanks Smurf. Looking to see if I can sell some in premarket during house wakeup obstacles.
They have a CC today, but that'll be hard for me to trade around.
RGDX - Only 500 shares. Don't forget about premarket tomorrow if news is out early. I think going forward we no longer have to wonder if you'll get up for events. With a newborn - you have but no choice.
I can't resist doing this... hesse, You should look into buying the stock of REWARDS NEXUS, INC. - Since you already own BIRT.
thx. I saw Rhodey post about it doing well AH on the RGDX board and figured I'd see what I could get.
MSTX - ATM - I need to see if I can find out more info about MSTX's ATM. See if they used it all, or if its still ongoing.
KIPS down 5%. Hmmmm. I need to look into that one still. I wonder why.

MSTX - Thanks for the reminder. It was on my watchlist too.
SYN - Yes. Today's move seemed to be partly based upon the $6 target price. The pertussis data has not been released and April Catalyst still in play.
With that said, I'll be locking in profits soon. Either in lots, or all, depending upon what the market gives.
Premarket and After Hours - are not just something nice to have, they are MUST HAVE's to use for trading. I used to think they were nice, but not needed. Very much not true!
There are plenty of times that PR's are issued before the market opens or in after hours. Good PR's are no big deal, because typically, the price will rise from where it closed. So, you'll make $.
But if the PR is bad, the price may drop 5% in after hours, then 10%, then by the time the market opens the next day and info has been PR'd all over, your stock may be down 25% or more. You could have gotten out and sold for 5-10% loss if you sold PRE or AH.
The main account I'm trading from is a 401k. I was not able to do premarket or after hours trading until I filled out an application to do so, or until I called in and asked for it to be added. The rep then read the mumbo jumbo about greater risk, lower liquidity, the chance of only part of your order being filled, etc. I'm sure there's a site somewhere detailing the differences, among those being that there's less market makers and wider ranges in bid vs. asks.
I would very much suggest you practicing to get used to how the pre and post works for your trading platform and to make sure that you have it enabled. For my regular TD Ameritrade account, it was enabled for me already. You also need to find out the pre and AH trading times for your platform. Crazy, but I've found out that different companies actually offer different times, mostly the same but I've read where one or two trade an hour early then others.
I've also noticed that AH and Pre prices have for the most part, always been the highest on any of my sales after good news like trial data and PDUFA approvals. IMO, the only time that hasn't applied since I've started trading in Nov was the other day with APPY.
Don't worry about fancy terminology and you don't have to do too much. Please don't take it as too serious or pressuring. I just liked your conviction behind what you said, so the little light in my head said, "there must be a reason he's adding on the way up."
Any info would be appreciated. We all have a LOT to learn, and to me, that's what these boards are for.
no hurry either.
RGDX - AH - I saw it hit $1.60 in AH on 32k volume, so I just threw a sell order out there for about half of my holdings (2,200 shares @ $1.58). We'll see if someone bites. Would be a $.16 profit. That would be better then the -$.05-$.10 loss its been since buying it.
CTIX - fam401, If you have time, could you please post a synopsis of CTIX and why you bought in, what the catalysts are and any other thoughts? You mentioned that if there's one stock that you know a lot about it's this one. So, would be great to hear your thoughts.
You mentioned the hospitals the trials are in, and that you like the management, etc. Any info would be appreciated.
It's totally new to me, but I like the chart after taking a quick glance at it. I also really like getting the feel of a stock and company from someone who has followed it for a while (especially if they've owned it, so they have a 'real feel.' of how it moves).
I'll be selling a few positions tomorrow or in the next few days. Will be looking to update my watchlist.
RGDX $1.44 - Yes, holding. I've been taking the Kermit route on RGDX this 2nd time around, "It's not easy being green."
Looking for it to go to $88 tomorrow on earnings. Or, $1.50+ would be nice too. Any green number would be ok with me.
My ears perk up when Bob states "I really want to be in this for Adcom." Will put it on watch. Thanks.
ELTP $.545 - Watching to see if ELTP has the moxy to go after the $.58 resistance that its backed off of the last few times, and do it without news.
It gains steam, then hits $.58ish then backs off, then regroups, then goes at it again. With each regrouping, IMO, its making higher lows and is looking for that confidence to push it up and over. It may sneak down to $.50ish before then to get some extra running room up to break through.
Watching, and by watching I mean... going to take a nap to make up for lost sleep.
HZNP - +15% today. In the back of my mind, I believe Andrew might be in it. If so, that's rad. If not, nothing to see here, move along.
Perfect. Thanks!
ELTP : Andrew, do you have a quick copy and paste of the upcoming catalysts still to come in this or the next month? I couldn't find your old message easily. Thanks.
Yup, that's another way. I found the snippet to be really useful and fast and low memory usage.
It's a little cumbersome, but works.
As far as easily creating screen shots, if you use Windows, then the "Snipping Tool" is awesome for fast screen shots. Truthfully, I never knew the tool existed until I read this post from $$$eeker, with great instructions on how to add a screenshot image to your posts.
Easy(ish) Screenshot Snipping Info link : http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=95136594&txt2find=snipping
If you use Apple stuff, then you're already a genius, so you know how to do it. jk - don't have mac stuff, dunno. but once you got a screen shot, its a similar process to add it ihub.
ACST - Bought a starter in it a few days ago after watching it for two months bounce around that $1.20ish area. I kept missing my entry so finally got one. Was going to ask you about it, so thanks for the chart. I've noticed it's chatter increase a lot in the last few days on twitter and boards.
SUTI - Nope. Never heard of them. For your sake I hope you were in it and got some $. What's their deal?
I typically don't play too many OTC BB stocks and / or any stock that has a lot of $.000 in front of the number.
Nothing wrong with them, just not my thing so far. Trying to avoid risk as much as possible.
SYN: $3.38 - Price target raised to $6 - I plan on holding through today and waiting for the Pertussis data to come in (hopefully positive) soon. Will probably sell on that spike (if it happens).
link : http://finance.yahoo.com/news/short-story-briefing-com-125001333.html
8:58 am Synthetic Biologics target raised to $6 at Maxim Group following meetings with mgmt
Maxim Group raises its SYN tgt to $6 from $3. Firm concludes that there are now multiple events ahead, including top-line data for Trimesta (oral estriol) in relapsing/remitting multiple sclerosis in April. In addition, SYN-004 (a second-generation product) should progress to the clinic (for the start of a phase 1b/2 trial) for the prevention of C-difficile infection. SYN-005 (mAb) for pertussis (whooping cough) is another catalyst that has shown compelling animal data (whooping cough is an unmet medical need), as well as the development of SYN-010 for C-IBS and related GI disorders and SYN-001 for life-threatening Acinetobacter (gram negative bacterium) infections.
Statuses : Smurf might be limited in posting today at times today or for today. So mind your support / resistance levels and price targets if they're hit. Lock in Profits!
Ned : I am looking to SELL today/tomorrow, not add. I don't have extra settled funds and don't want to be locked in to any new trades. Markets seem ok with Russia at moment, but who knows and ...
Options expiration is Friday. This always seems to lead to some wild price movements intra-day for some stocks. For those smarter than me (yes-about everyone), checking the open interest on options strike prices can sometimes give you an indication if MM's will try to keep/move a stock to that strike price.
Let's watch each other's backs and post any suggestions / trends that are found.
It sounds exactly like the same thing, only in our case some biotech company probably just had their device approved by the FDA and were pushing hospitals to use it, and we were the first users :)
It's taken me a long time to get that into my head. Sometimes, it happens to quick, and you look at that 8% and think... "Hmmmm I just got that in 30 minutes, maybe I can get 15% if it just ...." and then moments later you're down -4%. A lot of psychology involved. Which is why I banter so much about it. I have to keep knocking it into my head. See profit - take profit.
Chicken out with a profit? No such thing! That's just smart. There's no reason to risk if you're unsure even a little bit. There's just too many factors that go into any trading day and they change every day too. I don't know enough about CRIS at the moment to hold through right now, so no comment on that.
I keep reminding myself, I'm not trying to prove I'm right, I'm just trying to make money. I don't care if its luck, or if i think all my indicators performed perfectly.
Any type of a profit is good. Any. 5% here, 9% there, 22%, 11%, 2%, they all add up quick.
I had a lot of factors pointing in APPY's favor. Previous good trial results, the fact that ...IT WAS APPROVED AND ALREADY WERE USING IT IN EUROPE for a good amount of time (hesse owned it - good fact there too), amongst other things. Seemed like a good risk/reward.
And FYI - If you forgot, IMO - if I remember correctly, you entered into CRIS because you thought it was going to be a good trade as a RunUP. That's what its done so far. So, no need to try and prove anything. Profit is profit. No need to now change the point of the trade. If you think it still makes sense and fits your plan, then go for it. But you nailed your objective.
No need to try and put a turbo-rocket engine on the hot air balloon.
APPY - $2.98 - Low of day for APPY today was $2.89, about $.05 away from the Pre-Runup High in mid Jan.
These all seem in theory like ones to possibly hold upon the good news, but history seems to always show, that at least in the short term, "sell on the news" looks to be the best way - IMO.
LJPC - About the same way. Selling, selling, selling. Moving towards supports soon.
CRIS - Good job Smurf. I think I've seen CRIS' name bandied about a bit more recently too on boards and tweets. Hopefully it'll get more attention.
fam401 Re: Profit taking doesn't have to be an all or nothing situation. There's all different ways to go about it and it depends upon your trading style and objectives for the stock and your portfolio. One of my fears going into trading was... the fear of missing out on a big run right after I sell. Or missing the top. Finding the top or the bottom is a fools game. As long as you find profit in the trade, that's all that matters.
With each and every profit that I've taken on a stock, and as they all add up now, I've realized that I could care less if it rallies hard thereafter. For me, I've gotten a profit and that's the goal, and move on. Each and every profit I take, adds up to that monster rally overall. Also, moving on doesn't always mean leaving that stock completely.
One theory for a stock that you really like, and think has room to roam still, is to sell 1/3rd on the advances and keep 2/3rd as your core. I almost always sell into a rally and not wait for a down day.
By selling a little off the top, it "locks in some profit" - thusly giving you not only $$$, but confidence. If it drops a bit, you can buy it right back. If it rallies further, that's great, you still have 2/3 left.
Congrats on your entry on FPMI and holding into this run! I typically have a few price targets in mind based upon catalysts, support/resistance lines, and the overall markets. Sometimes its an 'all or nothing' or 1/3rd sell here, 1/3rd there, etc. Selling in lots works too when you're unsure.
Best of Luck! Keep up the good work.
Yeah, for some reason the pedia pops work and the drink is always a sunk cost (even when diluted or mixed or when making your own popsicles with it). Yet I still buy it and hope it will work one time.
Lil Sam doing well? When my lil guy was born his heart would stop beating so we had to put this EKG like things around his chest to monitor him while he slept. Stupid thing would always give false alarms. those were fun times :)
No worries. Got lucky, no major movements either way, mostly green.
Got a positive on Strep Throat, so good to know what it is, onto meds and better health. I normally am good at not over-reacting with the kids (that's the wife's job), but this one scared me enough to take him in right away due to his constant complaining of stiff neck and headache. He's never done that.
I've always heard the diff between flu and meningitis symptoms is meningitis comes on fast and has a stiff neck and headache (along with flu symptoms). You name it, he had it with this one, but Strep it is.
Doc said the stiff neck has to be severe, as in, you can't tuck your chin to your chest at all. Add another to my list of lesson's learned.
Hope your daughter is better.
Thanks for all of these hesse, will examine at later time. Much appreciated.
