There is ONE lagging Nasdaq biotech left - EXEG. EXEG is a GENOMICS stock that just recently had shareholders reject a buyout offer for $0.65 from AVII. EXEG has $0.83 in CASH per share and with biotech stocks ramping this one may attract buyers. Target on a break of $0.60 is a move to $0.80-1.00, stops at $0.50. Traders may fall in love with this one given the runs in GERN etc today. Target entry $0.60 and under.
EXEG (reposted fyi)
HUGE DD FIND: EXEG does TELoMERASE, GERN enzyme!!!!!
Cytoclonal Pharmaceutics, Inc. announced the completion of an agreement with the Research & Development Institute Inc. at Montana State University for worldwide rights to their Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase gene technology. Telomerase has potential for treatment of degenerative diseases and optimization of the immune system. Telomerase is also a target for cancer and could influence the aging process.
EXEG changed their name from cytoclonal to exegenics

DJ New E-Mail Virus Masquerades As Microsoft Security Update

Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A new Windows e-mail virus that surfaced Thursday, which sometimes arrives as a convincing looking, but fake, security update from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), is becoming a rising threat to home computer users, according to antivirus software maker Network Associates Inc. (NET).
The company rates the virus, dubbed "Swen," a medium risk to home users due to increasing numbers of infections. It considers the virus a low risk to companies, which tend to be better a stopping new viruses because they tend to quickly update antivirus programs and strip risky attachments off e-mail. Symantec Corp. (SYMC) rates the worm a two out of five, or low risk, though it considered its spread level medium.
Swen-laced messages can have a number of different subject lines, messages and attachment names, some of which impersonate mail-delivery failure notices. Opening the attachment will cause infection. The virus can, however, launch automatically if the victim PC is using a version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer that hasn't been patched for a certain security flaw.
At least one message masquerades as a Microsoft update. It appears to come from "Microsoft Corporation Program Security Division" and has the subject line "New Microsoft Patch." The message mimics the look of a Microsoft Web site, for instance using a similar blue banner and white Microsoft logo. Its text encourages users to download a "September 2003, Cumulative Patch."
The attachment name varies but can read "patch" or "install" plus three numbers and the .exe file extension. After opening the attachment, a victim will be presented with a series of fake dialogue boxes that pretend to be a "Microsoft Internet Update Pack."
Once a PC is infected, the virus will try to disable various security and antivirus programs. It will also try to replicate itself by e-mailing itself out to addresses it finds in the PC and by spreading through network shares, Internet Relay Chat system and the Kazaa file-sharing network.
It tries to entice Kazaa file swappers to download the virus by offer files with names like "Cooking with Cannabis," "Windows Media Player," and "XXX Pictures."
The virus sometimes issues a fake error warning with the title "MAPI32 Exception." The box asks victims to supply their details of their e-mail account, including username and password, potentially opening them up to further abuse.
In an apparent attempt by the virus writer to monitor the progress of his creation, the virus seeks out a Web page that serves as an infection counter.

MKTY looking really good on Gilette deal... Now +32% and swelling... (a repost fwiw fyi only!)
http://finance.yahoo.com/mp#mkty
9:03AM Mechanical Tech enters strategic alliance with Gillette (MKTY) 3.78: In an 8-K filing, co announces that on Sept 19 its MTI MicroFuel Cells unit entered into a strategic alliance agreement with The Gillette Co (G) whereby MTI Micro, Gillette and Gillette's Duracell business unit will develop and commercialize complementary micro fuel cell products to power future mass market, high volume, portable consumer devices. The agreement provides for a multi-year exclusive partnership for the design, development and commercialization of a low power direct methanol micro fuel cell power system and a compatible fuel refill system. As part of the strategic alliance, both MTI Micro and Gillette will share and license from each other certain intellectual property assets, and both have the ability to earn royalties. In addition, Gillette has made an initial $1 mln investment in MTI Micro common stock, with the potential of an additional investment of $4 mln subject to agreed milestones.
CRDM up almost 100% for me since 1st posted, how about u guys?
CRDM-imho will move all week, and move untill FDA meeting, then if FDA gives approval, no telling how high
A fwiw CRDM-repost---Top four most likely candidates for distribution deal and/or buyout of CRDM:
Medtronic (DMT)
Boston Scientific (BSX)
Guidant (GDT)
St. Jude (STJ)
All four have large, entrenched sales forces in the cardiac surgery device space. And all have tons of cash on hand (roughly $500M to $1B each).
CRDM knows what it must do to win FDA approval. It must answer some very specific and tough questions, which can be found at the following link:
http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/ac/03/questions/3954q1_panel%20questions.htm
The good news is that CRDM has received positive reviews for safety and need of the REVELATION microcatheter AND the problems with efficacy have more to do with insufficiency of data and/or lack of clarity in the gathering, interpreting and presentation of data, than with substantive findings suggesting ineffectiveness. In other words, the FDA wants CRDM to defend the study protocol and data gathering methodology, clear up any ambiguities in it, and to provide a more complete and scientifically sound interpretation of results supporting efficacy.
I believe that the following factors argue in favor of winning approval:
1. CRDM representatives can now go into the FDA meeting with the knowledge of exactly what the FDA wants from them.
2. CRDM will have had 3 months to analyze, organize and interpret original data and to collect additional data from 20 patients who have met the 6 month protocol. (In case you missed it, the addition of 20 patients is above and beyond what was called for from the FDA and should significantly increase their chances of success.)
Private Placement financing is common for a company at this stage of development and obviously a materially positive event since it allows the company to meet its obligations and continue operating through the end of the year by which time we should almost certainly have an answer one way or the other from the FDA. Remember, this technology received expedited review, so it would be illogical to postpone things at this stage. It is also possible that the expedited nature of the review led to some of the shortcomings in the interpretation of data. This should all be cleared up soon.
Dilution is not an issue relative to revenue potential. CRDM is still a microcap company with a very small float. FDA approval and a distribution deal should easily catapult share price over $5.00 even if dilution continues at its current rate.
Remember, if this company is valued one day at a billion dollars, then even with 100M shares outstanding, each share would still be worth ten bucks! Something to think about. And with the enormous revenue potential of any breakthrough technology in the cardiac care industry, this is not out of the realm of the possible. Of course, what is more likely is that one of the big fish will come in and buy CRDM out long before it hits the $10 mark.
Do your own DD. Good luck to all.
