Uranium Trying To Breach US$60/pound
23/11/2010 1:15:03 PM
By Greg Peel
The spot uranium market has awoken as if from a slumber this past month and ticked up each week with a couple of big jumps in the mix. The shift up towards the US$60/lb mark has had two effects, notes industry consultant TradeTech.
The first is that, sensing growing interest on the buy-side, patient sellers have been backing off in the hope of securing higher prices. The second is that the recent moves have seen speculative buyers falling away on the assumption the boat has sailed for now.
It was thus a relatively quiet week on the spot market last week with only 200,000 pounds of U3O8 changing hands. This represented two trades and the price was again higher on the week before, ticking up by US65c to US$59.90/lb.
The US$60 level is what might be called a “popular” price when looking at the “real” uranium market of long-term supply contracts. TradeTech has its medium-term price indicator currently reading US$56/lb and its long-term US$62/lb. Last week's spot trading suggests US$60 is providing resistance, but then a breach may be significant.
This is backed up by the emergence of a buyer in the market looking for 200,000 pounds for 2011 delivery and the same again for 2012 but meeting with a “very limited response” according to the consultant.
Meanwhile, three transactions occurred in the term market last week with one US utility securing amounts of 500k pounds for five-year gradual delivery and others seeking larger amounts for delivery in 2012 through to longer dates.
Yes Sir Brikk-
Going to be fun my friend.
Imagine where LBSR is trading a year from now.
Forget visions of sugar plums!-ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGG
Oh it is going to be fun-
Grab a chair-it's coming.
Yes Sir S4-
"I have always said it will be PLP as our JV partner"
I agree.
Thanks Brikk-
Moon, OMO, SGR-Can you please confirm?
TIA
Most certainly Brikk-
IMHO, but we are very, very close.
Share Structure-My Calculations:
9/20/10: Outstanding: 436,983,515
Float: 320,650,539
11/18/10: Outstanding: 571,174,487
Float 424,376,397
My assumptions behind this-
134,190,972 Increase during that time frame.
2 things happened during that time-
1. 30,465,114 shares in PP-
2. So 134,190,972 - 34,465,114 leave 103,725,858 converted by the warrant holders-they have 50,964,349 left to convert out of the 154,690,207 awarded in the settlement.
so this leaves the following warrants to be converted in the future:
1. Settlement Warrants at .0002: 50,964,349
2. Settlement Warrants at .10: 22,098,601
3. PP Warrants at .06: 5,465,114
4. PP Warrants at .056: 25,000,000
5. LBSR Board & Management Options at .038 88,000,000
I believe this is correct as I have double checked filings, and etc., but please let me know if not correct-as I think this is important to track-especially in the short term.
OMO-
Would appreciate your thought and insights on your musings of the LBSR NR this morning and tonight's NAK Q.
Thanks as always.
I can taste it-
Very close IMHO.
ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
Get better my friend. Flu here too.
Thanks S4-Excellent post
I agree with you 110%. NAK spent a good chunk of $$ dedicated soley to LBSR purchased and non-purchased land.
Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm or should I say
ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
LBSR and NAK: From NAK Q-
3 Main Tidbits:
Northern Dynasty commissioned a 187 line km ZTEM geophysical survey that took place during the quarter
at a cost of approximately US$170,900."
The Company recorded exploration costs of $653,000 (2009 – $11,000) as the Company initiated
and conducted two independent studies on the Pebble Project and completed exploration on the
Liberty Star claims
The Company incurred exploration costs of $950,000 (2009 – $80,000) as the Company completed
a work program amounting to $408,000 on the Liberty Star claims, published a technical report and
an update of mineral resources (refer to Exploration and Resources in Section 1.2.3), and initiated
and conducted two independent studies on the Pebble Project. Salary costs for the period increased
to $1,752,000 (2009 – $1,204,000) mainly as a result of US payroll related taxation payments for
employees working on the Pebble Project. The Company also incurred additional payroll costs as a
result of legal and due diligence activities relating to the Company’s purchase of the Liberty Star
claims (refer 1.2.2.3).
1.2.2.3 Purchase and Option Agreement with Liberty Star
On June 29, 2010, Northern Dynasty entered into a binding letter agreement with Liberty Star
Uranium and Metals Corp. and its subsidiary, Big Chunk Corp. (together, “LibertyStar”), pursuant to
which Liberty Star sold 23.8 square miles (60.7 square kilometers), the “Purchased Claims”, to
Northern Dynasty in consideration for a US$1 million cash payment and a secured convertible loan
from Northern Dynasty in the amount of US$3 million (the “Loan”). The Purchased Claims are held
by a US subsidiary of Northern Dynasty.
The purchase of the Purchased Claims and the Loan are interdependent. The Loan is secured by
Liberty Star’s Big Chunk and Bonanza Hills properties in Alaska and accrues interest at 10% per
annum calculated monthly. The Loan is repayable in cash or convertible into Liberty Star shares,
after Northern Dynasty has spent at least US$1 million earning into the joint venture (discussed
below).
In addition, subject to negotiating and signing a definitive earn-in option and joint venture
agreement, Northern Dynasty can earn a 60% interest in Liberty Star’s remaining Big Chunk and
Bonanza Hills projects in Alaska by spending US$10 million on those properties over six years. The
Loan from Northern Dynasty may be applied as part of the earn-in requirements, at Northern
Dynasty’s discretion.
For a limited period, the Pebble Partnership has a right to acquire the Purchased Claims upon
reimbursement of Northern Dynasty’s actual acquisition cost.

Yes-
I agree Gempicker-I can see how some misread, but you, Brikk and others are correct IMO. I read it 2x, but your interpretation is correct.
Yes Hammer, but
I love the RESTRICTED 506 rule!
Can't be sold for a year-HUGE CONFIDENCE.
Future of LBSR is in great hands-
Enjoy LBSR Investors-Longs.
Monster miner in the making.
Kipp-
Couldn't say it any better. Often these investors do know inside information, but that's why they hold restricted shares and sometimes will sign legal documents to dislose NOT sharing with anyone else what they know.
Interesting times!
Big Smile-
Big Smile on my face-I could feel it-now I can taste it.

Desks
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock , did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom.
When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.
'Ms. Cothren, where're our desks?'
She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn the right to sit at a desk.'
They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.'
'No,' she said.
'Maybe it's our behavior.'
She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.'
And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom.
By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms.Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room.
The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the deskless classroom, Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'
At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it.
Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.
Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'
By the way, this is a true story.
Please consider passing this along so others won't forget that the freedoms we have in this great country were earned by U. S. Veterans and current military personnel.
'IN GOD WE TRUST' "...ONE NATION UNDER GOD"
