Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe FMNJ actually now has a contract with COMIBOL, and not just a Letter-of-Intent...
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2006--Franklin Mining, Inc. (Pink Sheets:FMNJ - News), CEO, Jaime Melgarejo announced today the partnership between COMIBOL and Franklin Mining is official. This is the first time COMIBOL has partnered with a corporation outside of Bolivia since the 1950s. COMIBOL is Bolivia's national mining company. Franklin Mining, Bolivia (a Bolivian corporation) is a subsidiary of Franklin Mining, Inc. "We signed the Letter of Intent back in November.

My guess is; any solid news by the company that talks about it initiating steps towards production in the shorter-term would be very positive for the share price at this juncture, IMO.
With the estimates on the 4 viens seemingly complete... we should soon be hearing how they plan on getting it out of the ground and poured, IMO.
Large cap. Silver stock charts update...
Now that they've performed estimates on the 4 viens... the next logical step is getting it out of the ground.
I'm not sure they could get the first Bars out by January (I guess they might be able to if they wheel-barrow the Ore out and about)... but if they did, it would be good timing, precious metals cycle-wise.
Now that they've rolled out the PR's on the 4 viens... my guess is; pretty soon we'll see a PR campain of some type about the steps needed/taken to get to production, hopefully.
Any news/speculation about when FMNJ goes into production on Cerro Rico?...

I'm not sure how closely you guys have studied Hurricanes... but from what I've seen over the past few years... this current storm, although not very intense yet, is quite a relatively large storm given it's young age and it's location in the Caribean...
IMO, Enresto has the potential to grow very large if it gets to the center of the Gulf... we could have another Katrina-like storm on the door step...

It's a crazy world right now... there are so many things pressuring the energy markets right now...
* Chad,
* Iran,
* Lebanon/Israel,
* Venezualeua,
* Bolivia,
* Hurricanes,
* Global Warming,
* Lack of a credible alternative plan to Oil,
* Iraq,
* Growing demand from India and China
It's good for Oil/Gas companies in safe jurisdictions, IMO.

If the forecasts hold, it looks like we are going to see Oil platform/rig shutdowns next week... possible CAT 3 to whip up the Gulf next week... and the storm may intensify even further yet... and it's headed straight towards Oil rig/refinery territory around Houston and Louisiana...

I look at FPPL as a cheap Call option on the price of Oil... if we get any type of sustained price action in Oil over $80 p/bbl... even though FPPL is little more than a advanced shell company IMO, there should be a good profit from these levels if Oil gets into the $80's.
And I think we'll be into the $80 Oil range in the not to distant future.

"We see a series of four red arrows, each one lower than the preceding. The critical level for the Dollar Index is at the third horizontal blue baseline at #3. >From the base at #3, the Dollar Index rallied to the third red arrow, then declined to baseline at #4. The big question is whether the Dollar Index will break below baseline #4 to attack the key support at #3. The Dollar Index is trading today at 84.40, with 83 the critical level -- the must-hold level."

From my research... the small amount of Silver is added to the Alloy mixture primarily to help in regards to maintaining quality electrical conductivity.
From Encarta:
Silver, symbol Ag, white, lustrous metallic element that conducts heat and electricity better than any other metal. Silver is one of the transition elements of the periodic table (see Periodic Law). The atomic number of silver is 47.

It's a complex issue... as not all companies will choose the exact same Alloy composition...
From leadfree.ipc.org;
SnAgCu
This alloy composition (with or without the addition of a fourth element) appears to be the most popular replacement. This alloy has also been chosen to be the benchmark, with SnPb being the baseline, for testing any other alloys to be included in the listing to be provided to the industry.

RoHS and WEEE industrial legislation... and how they will affect Silver.
Unless you have expirence in the Computer Hardware or Electronics manufacturing business, you may be completely unaware of the following recent legislation...
RoHS legislation = Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive (the RoHS directive is also commonly refered to as the "Lead Free" directive).
WEEE legislation = Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive.
As quoted by http://www.pb-free.info ...
"The restriction of certain hazardous substances (RoHS) and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives are extremely complex pieces of environmental legislation, which will affect each and every electronics manufacturer directly or indirectly, regardless of geographical location or the equipment they produce." ... the RoHS Directive comes into force on July 1, 2006(*1).
If your unfamilar or unaware of the RoHS and WEEE legislation (and most people are unaware) during 2002 & 2003(*2) the EU (European Union) brought forward legislative directives to reduce and restrict hazardous substances, electronic wastes, and other pollutants (IE: Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, PVC's) away from being included in the manufacturing of numerous consumable materials.
Electronic waste has become a major world-wide pollution problem for several reasons, one of which is the short life cycle of computers, printers, montiors, and other electronic compnents have... these products are often outdated within just a few short years, and quickly become obsolete garabge, evenutally making their way into land-fills, where their toxic materials are free to filter back into the environment, streams, eco-systems, and food supply to wreak their destructive properties.
The RoHS and WEEE directives have been in the planning phases for several years now... however, the general public is mostly unaware of the ROHS and WEEE directives... the major Computer and Electronic manufaturers on the other hand are well aware of the legislation becuase; Computers, Electronics, and other
Consumables sold in the EU after July 1, 2006 must be ROHS compliant... so the major hi-tech and electronics companies have been working for years to slowly phase-out the targeted hazourdous materials, and replace(*3) them with ROHS compliant materials for the July 1, 2006 compliance deadline... here are some links to ROHS information from the world's major hi-tech companies...

SOME REASONS SILVER WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE ROHS AND WEEEE LEGISLATION IS;
(A.) Prior to July 1, 2006 Lead was used extensively in electronics. Lead in sufficent quanity is posionous, and can be deadly.
(B.) Lead is one of the main targets for elimnation within the RoHS and WEEE legislation... the most popular Lead replacement(*3) is an Alloy combination consisting of Tin, Silver, and Copper.
(C.) Silver conducts electricity better(*4) than any other metal... and is an essential component (forming approx. 3.5%) of the Alloy most suitable to replace Lead Solder in Computer and Electronics components, hardware, and devices.
(D.) Computers, Electronics, and a number of other Consumables sold in the EU after July 1, 2006 must be ROHS compliant, meaning; they will essentially be Lead-Free... techincal papers indicate that Silver (as of July 1 2006) forms approx 3.5% of the Alloy used to replace Lead Solder in the EU.
(E) While an amount of Silver in each new Computer and electronic device equal to approx. 3.5% of the Solder doesn't sound like much... but when you add it up over millions upon millions of devices, it will start adding up quickly... and remember, the legislation only came into effect last month (July 1, 2006)
(F) While the ROHS compliance came into effect on July 1, 2006 in the EU... China, the United States, and other countries are also moving in nearly the exact same envirometal direction as the EU... by 2010, mutltiple countries plan on having ROHS compliance laws in full effect... however, many of the major multi-national tech companies are not waiting for other countries to eventually bring in their own ROHS legislation, many of the multi-nationals (to save costs) are converting their entire world-wide Computer/Electronics production (not just their EU production) to all be ROHS compliant at the same time.
Now... I wonder what prompted Bill Gates to invest in Pan American Silver... hmmmmmmmmm...

BP's search for Alaska pipes may not be so easy...
Even if it finds a manufacturer whose mills are not backed up with orders through next year, it will almost certainly pay heavily for the pipes. And it will also have to wait for the winter freeze before installing the repayments, they said.
"There are only three manufacturers in North America and they are all sold out through next year," said Charles Bradford, an analyst with Bradford Research/Soleil.
