Is anyone here to help me understand why ARTW didnt split before market open today?? I am terribly confused. :(
Why didnt ARTW split?? I dont get it - how is this supposed to work?
EGMI - hey guys - I bought 20,000 EGMI and thinking of buying more but Im not completely fulfilled with the DD available on the EGMI board.
EGMI has offices in manhattan not too far from my own office. I'm thinking of doing on-the-ground research, calling up, and stopping by. What's the best way to do this? How do I present myself? Individual investor or do I need to make up a name of an investment firm? Maybe I tell them I'm from Investorshub? haha.
Any advice would be appreciated and let me know what you guys want me to find out about EGMI if I do go visit in person.
EGMI due diligence...
hey guys I am in with 20,000 shares and thinking of buying more - but doesnt seem to be good DD on the board here nor a strong following like there was with AYSI and ZYXI when I bought them.
EGMI has headquarters in manhattan where my office is so its conveniently located. Ive never done on-the-ground research but I'll offer to do it. Can someone tell me the best way to do this? If I call up as an "individual investor" will they allow me to go on site and meet the staff and poke around? How can I do this??
ARTW 2:1 split today... I believe the split should be effective today. When this was first announced a couple weeks ago the stock ran to $30 but now it's $23. I had envisioned the stock trading in the $15 to $18 range post-split.
Anyone have any comments? Seems pretty cheap here.
Microcaps getting hammered huge today.
What's going on? profit taking? crazy.
okay I see it on yahoo. they forget to update their own website with that latest release though!
10bagger...
no PR about increase in orders...
there are press releases in March, April, May, and June about an increase in orders - but none in July. already a few weeks overdue. why? just curious.

Ameritrade Advanced Analyzer?
Does anyone use advanced analyzer? I just downloaded it. Is it useful for finding when a micro-cap turns around or starts moving?
you're theory is partially correct. I sold ARTW on monday morning and I was looking for a place to rotate it into. If it wasnt listed as AG on yahoo - I wouldnt have found PTG.
After researching I realized it was not AG but still seemed to have good value and I thought there may be some momentum from people who think it is ag.
I bought a couple thousand shares at market tuesday first thing in the am. Could it be that I single-handedly started a run with my little purchase and sales pitch on the ARTW board??
nothing is a guarantee in life. I tend to exagerate sometimes. sorry! I just love the cash position, buyback, and backlog in orders. very limited downside and backlog not built into stock. what can I say - seems like a safer investment to me than other ideas based on future growth. lower risk but high returns.
my kinda stock. but you gotta sell when it reaches $10-$12 cuse it will drop back down.
I didnt know we arent aloud to have a conversation back and forth and just have to accept your original analysis.
Its not flipping a coin - at the end of the last call - there was a lengthy discussion on profit margins. I dont have it in front of me - but if you take the CEO for his word - revenue is $21 mil this year with zero more orders beinig taken in. I think it is very likely there will be at lest $4mil more this year for a min of $25mil. Then - do the math based on past margins and what the CEO said - then $10-$12 seems like a very likely target.
I do appreciate your concerns on the stock and for those and other reasons dont look at this as stock I will keep for years or wait till $20. But it IS undervalued and a micro-cap. Almost a guaranteed 30-50% return. I thought this board was about making money in undervalued companies.
Anyway. enjoy florida Hank!
thanks for the constructive feedback.
PTG first...
if you take their backlog and distribute evenly over the next 3 quarters - it will be substantially better than 2006.
Second... if you listen carefully to the conference call and run some math - you can estimate 1 to 3 mil in profits for 2007 on 25mil+ rev.
Third... $4.41 cash, zero debt
Fourth... stock buyback not doing much? look at chart over the past 3 months. low float is causing stock to go up now and rest of the year as earnings come out. The reason it didnt jump right away is because they were buying a ton of shares back from a huge mutual fund owner that had 20% in 2006 and was selling for a tax loss. That owner is down to 7% or so. without a buyback - the stock would have tanked. That transaction seems over and stock is picking up momentum now.
by my math, PTG is easily worth $10-$12. I bought at $7 on tuesday morning - best performing stock all week. Just surprised no chatter on the price move here.
PTG looks strong. very few shares. big buyback. blowout rev and earnings rest of year from huge backlog.
How come no talk about it anywhere?
the next facebook or google? haha
nah - here is what I am thinking...
1. a niche software provider with good and growing profits. business software not consumer.
2. chips, solar cells
3. any technology related to upgrading civil infrastructure, or building production plants, large buildings, etc
okay will research these and let you know what I like if any
micro-cap tech stocks wanted. I have CSPI... but I want more tech. any ideas?
spamstopshere.com to stop the spam. it works wonders. and cheap. check it out.
CAPEX micro-cap stocks?
I want to invest in micro-cap stocks that benefit from capex spending. any ideas?
Also - I know I am late to the solar game. I bought SPWR last year and sold it for a 50% profit. I gotta stop trading and keep winners long-term! I own CMGI which has a significant stake in a private solar company... but I want a new play. Any undervalued micro-cap or small cap solar stocks?
Thanks in advance.
I am the only moron here with only 3% of my stock account in ZYNX? Im at 10% cash. Who votes that I should pick up some more shares at the $1.37 ask right now? Its a democracy - right?! :)
Hank - what do you think of EROC oil company? Relatively small and making acquistions so I thought it could be a good growth play.
I'd like to think its a real bull market fueled by earnings and not hype.
Perhaps more money flowing down into microcaps as more investors jump in. It doesnt feel anywhere close to 1999-2000 to me yet. Back then - every soccer mom and teenager was buying stocks on hype and with margin and home equity debt. We are no where near that and there is still a ton of money on the sidelines.
Doesnt mean there is no room for a huge correction and doesnt mean its not the top. But if it is the top - has nothing to do with overvaluation or euphoria.
Any thoughts on CMGI?
CMGI - far from a small cap but it looks like a penny stock and it has great value! Tons of cash and growing revenue and earnings. I made a killing on this duing the interent boom and thankfully never saw the downside of it. I have been in and out of it in the past 12-18 months and made some cash but lately I am building a very big position and thinking of adding more here.
A news release just came out that may cause the bottom to have been reached today and move back towards fair value. Any thoughts? or is CMGI illegal on this board cause of its close to 1 billion market cap?
wow. must be a huge virus out there. I also have been getting spammed with pdfs for about a week now.
What's your current view on ARTW? I calculated fair value at $20-$21 and I sold at $17.54 the day of earnings for a huge profit. Do I get back in for a run to $20? or take my money and run?
Important question here for everyone...
PTG and RMX... 2 stocks I purchased this week but quickly sold off RMX. Even though RMX is grossly undervalued - there is something about it and also about PTG that greatly concerns me... but I sold off RMX cause Im worried that housing market decline can effect their business this quarter.
Here is my question - both these stocks are extremly undervalued and heavy buybacks are happening. In the case of RMX - the parent company is gobbling up all the shares. In the case of PTG, a heavy share buyback program is making the float smaller as each day passes. CEO of PTG said if they cant find a good acquisition - they will likely go private this year. So what does that mean? Once they control 90% of the shares - can they choose to buy back the remaining 10% at a huge discount and screw the shareholder? because they own majority and can decide what price to buy it at? Or when oublic companies go private - do we get fair value? or a premium? How's it work?
is that what is called DILUTION?
Im up already about 10% in 2 days... but I still like it. Here's why:
1. $4.41 in cash – no debt!
2. Major recent stock buy back with now less than 2 mil shares floating
3. 40% held by insiders
4. Based on last quarters conference call - my conservative guess is that revenue is expected to come in at between 23mil and 30mil for 2007 with 1mil to 3mil profit. Its going to be a great year - 2007. The CEO was very sure of that - much of it based on current backlog of orders
5. Huge backlog of orders should lead to good earnings reports rest of 2007
6. I like the price action leading up to earnings.
I see a 30-40% additional rise from here. With all those backorders - a downward surprise is very unlikely!
Gilead is the man. He got me here and got me to buy ZYNX. just wish I knew about this board earlier!
PTG and CSPI are rocking. comments anyone?
haha. in light of liability issues - I cant comment. Ask your local frineldy pharmacist. Besides - I havent done retail pharmacy in 6 years! Im more of a corporate marketer wheeler and dealer type. I aint suited to give clinical advice. Hope you feel better!
Hi there.
I have to do a more in-depth analysis but here are my thoughts so far - correct me if I am wrong on anything:
1. anti-inflammation drugs a new class, not an NSAID or steroid - and seems not to require FDA approval because it's considered an herbal??
2. I am huge on making decisions based on what sector the company is in. If #1 above is true - then this company warrants more research. I used to work for Pfizer promoting Celebrex and as you know both Celebrex, Vioxx and the entire COX-2 class got slammed after Vioxx was voluntarily withdrawn. I need to learn more about the product but if the target market is anti-inflammation - there is potentially a huge market out there and explosive growth
3. I see news releases about revenue exploding but needs deeper look into. Will try to do that tomorrow.
let me know if #1 above is correct.
yep - I have had problems on and off all day. From what I could tell the problem is limited to the command center.
hello everyone! Im new to this board.
Ive had a knack over the years picking value micro-cap companies but was only doing it part-time from work. I'm still doing it part-time but I have more time on my hands since I own my own company!
I have a pharmaceutical industry background with 4 years of experience turning aorund a company I bought at 100K which currently has a street value of 1-2mil. Im happy to be here!
Recently made a killing on ARTW and rotated that into 3 microcaps...
PTG
CSPI
ZYNX
I was also in and out of RMX the last couple days as I am having second thoughts. I would love any feedback on my 3 positions in these stocks. Where does everyone think they are going?
Ill be spending more time on this board - not only following on leads but making suggestions for leads. PTG is my own pick and Ive promoted it a bit on yahoo message boards to get some feedback.
Ill try to contribute more by finding some other good picks. Also - remember - I have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree so I can chime in with some qualatative analsys on biotech stocks. And my current company is in the internet sector so I know a ton about that and deal with alot of small vendors that could be the next hot tech stock. Cant wait to give and to take more in the coming months.
HouTheMan
Hi guys. I just bought ZYNX this morning. New to this board. referred by someone on the ARTW board over at yahoo.
I love value micorcap stocks. I always had the best return on those type of stocks in the past and Im now ready to invest more full-time than in the past.
Where can I talk about PTG? Its my own pick. purchased it 2 days ago after making a ton on ARTW. Would love to get people's input on it. Also, CSPI seems to be a real winner.
