And a fair amount of increase in cash and equivalents?
Small loss?? Not bad though? Anyone else read it that way? Especially if you add back in the depreaciation?
Thx Frank on checking out that site. Pouring rain here too today.
CMP is the magazine publishers name, wasn't a reference to the Critical Path Method.
More I think about it, perhaps someone only mentioned in one of the posts here or on RB that the auto industry is trying to take more and more business online. I think the reference to Covisint I was recalling was just pointing it out as an example perhaps??
The reason I was reminded is Covisint is on the cover of CMP's Information Week technology magazine, online the article can be found at www.informationweek.com/832/covisint.htm
What jogged my feeble memory is this quote from the article,
"Top managers at Covisint, founded last year by DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors remain upbeat". Add to that the mention of the business we now apparently have with DaimlerChrysler?? Now I am NOT saying there is any connection whatsoever, yet I am thinking about all the opportunity this article seems to be pointing to??? IMHO
Does anyone know if the new acquistions are involved in the auto industry Covisint LLC online market place effort??
I seem to remember some references to that when the news of these acquistions was released but now can't find the postings?
Well Bix, my definition, and it is my definition, when someone posts negatively on EVERYTHING ANYONE says, then yes I would consider it bashing. Opposite points of view are good, indeed necessary. But constantly? On every comment or observation no matter who its made by?
The way some people have been posting here, when CBQI reaches a new all time high, and everyone has made a ton of money, and I don't say this will happen, but only thats its possible, the negative posters will begin whining now they have to pay capital gains taxes instead of having a tax write-off for a loss. IMHO
I was very tempted to respond to that one that I carry an unregistered .44 Mag but decided against such "baiting" hehehe.
Gary, surprised you have a tongue left, LOL My hat is off to Bart and Company. Please convey to him he has at least one patient investor pleased with this news when he is in Florida for that meeting coming up. I can only suppose you were smiling gleefully knowing this news was to be released soon when the "doomsayers" were knocking the political/plane down situation with China. Now with avenues to both China and India, CBQI is very well positioned to profit on software outsourcing.
One question I have because I am sure it will be raised very soon by the naysayers, any information that can be released on how CBQI aquired these companies? What did CBQI "pay"? Stock?
Thing that excites me as much as the company acquistions are the companies, organizations on the clients list, these are not "small potatoes" outfits. IMHO
Gary, is that one of those T-shirts with the Matador tagging the bull for another score?? Just kidding, hehehe
No, my calling Whiz a basher does not make me a hypester. I have been long on CBQI since last summer, I have never, ever said, advised, or promoted anyone buy CBQI. I have expressed OPINIONS as to why I feel my investment in CBQI is a good one that will over some period of time, give me a nice rate of return.
Whiz, on the other hand, ALWAYS takes anything anyone says and tries to put a negative slant on it. If that is not bashing, what is it?? I know, I know, you will of course say he is only expressing his opinion also.
Since I know this is how you will respond, I will also give you the stock conclusion anyone should be able to reach on their own, everyone who is considering an investment in CBQI should read all postings with a bit of skepticism.
Here is my bottom line, which I have expressed before, no amount of bashing from anyone, will convince me they are doing anything but exactly that, bashing.
Whiz, you have never, ever even been close to being correct in any of your claims, you continue bashing based on all the best (worst) practices of bashers. You draw/jump to conclusions you want, in order to create a negative image of CBQI or anything that is said about it. You don't care what is said as long as you can somehow avoid any positive image of CBQI emerging. I am still very, very curious why you have such a vendetta that makes you continue posting your trash so long?? IMHO
Whiz,,, keep gently, softly repeating to yourself, "Denial" (De Nile) isn't a river in Egypt". Keep telling yourself that until you are all better.
This is looking better and better to me all the time. They are looking more and more desparate by the pricing now. IMHO
Personally, I find it sort of interesting this "news leaked" just before the financials are due? Things that make me go, HMMMMMMMMMMMMM?
Two other things I would also like to point out here.
While Whiz may have some validity to his contentions regarding the E-Commerce potential of some of the sites he mentioned. ie- Ebay etc etc, the same cannot be said for CBQI. CBQI cannot be put into the same category as those types of companies. CBQI is not smoke and mirrors, they are setting up to provide a real cost effective solution for companies in need of quality software programming. The latest aquisition which will hopefully close in the next few days is doing business with companies such as Acer computers. Again this is real business with real companies, not some dot com stuff.
The second thing is and I have mentioned this on other boards, the Internet is in its infancy. Does anyone remember it was only 8-9 short years ago when the first web browser (Mosiac, which Netscape picked up after a year out on the web) came out?? I myself did not get online until 1995, 6 short years ago. Until Windows95 came out, how many of you were browsing the net using Win 3.1???? Does anyone remember???
I make mention of this in order to point out this, back when electricity first became common for the public, how long did it take for people to realize what a major revolutionary society change this was going to have? How bout the telephone?
The printing press? Automobiles? Now the Internet??? Doomsayers can try to build their reputations by saying "I told you so" all they like. They will/are all be wrong in the end. The Internet is/has changed the way we live/work/play and is going to do so even more going forward.
My last point is this, what makes the Internet tick? (besides hardware as in servers etc etc) Just might it be, at least in part, COST EFFECTIVE SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS?????
Hello? anyone home out there???
Morning Invest, Fancy meeting you here!! LOL
Just dropping by to see how everything is here, waiting patiently for more good news.
Glad to see some common sense being expressed here.
Good Friday Morning everyone. Thought I would post just to say Hi. Boring Friday morning at work here. hehehe
Morning everyone,,, happy as a lark here with me new DSL service, now I can actually "browse the Internet" FINALLY!!!
LOL
Am glad to see some price improvement in CBQI, with some news we could see real improvement soon. IMHO
The longer I own and watch this stock, the more I realize there is absolutely no way to predict what it will do price wise on any given day. Here I was thinking this was going to be a zero volume day, then 50,000 plus shares trade out of nowhere. And the bid/ask tightened up a lot too. Only thing I have figured out is I am holding shares in a company that has very good prospects and I can afford to hold my shares indefinitely
I call it "marketing", you call it "distribution base", sounds like we are agreed its the same horse, different color. Whatever we call it, with a larger distribution base if you will, seems to me CBQI's China programmers will be exposed to more potential customers for their skills, ergo, more potential contracts, ergo more potential profits. Like I said in my earlier post, that line in the news release took a little bit to sink into this block of wood I call my head. hehehe
Just re-read that article again. Lots of interesting possibilities are brought up in it. The one towards the end of the article mentioning "aquiring up to 3 more companies in the Baltimore area" or words to that effect really kind of just sank in here. Can we say MARKETING of the China programmers? Seems to me with a larger potential customer base gained through aquisitions, CBQI would have a larger market for the China programmers?? Anyone else agree?
Congratulations on your new position with CBQI!! NOW maybe we can get this baby rocking LOL
Morning Gary, do you by any chance have the oversell/undersell figures for 11/22/00 figured yet? TIA
Gary, whats "your read" on the trading today so far? Kinda curious where these .50 sells are coming from with this news release today.
