You need oil to run that new 6 x 6 to haul the gold to market. LOL, just kidding.
According to pinksheets.com they used to be named Halstead Energy. I wonder if they are changing it back.
I sent them an email. I hope someone hears something soon. This could be really exciting.
I was just thinking about calling them. It is strange.
That is what I keeping asking myself. I have never tried to verify share counts before. I don't know if I can contact the transfer agent and ask them. I may try to do that.
It is confusing...
This from pinksheets.com
Outstanding Shares: 203,700 as of 2006-09-19
Estimated Market Cap: 1,222 as of 2006-10-02 (based on Outstanding Shares as of 2006-09-19)

Ex-Date: 2006-09-19
Record Date: 2006-09-07

notice the dates.
If 203k was before the split then they should be at 4 million after. These seem awfully low. Maybe someone who has been following them longer will know.

Some interesting numbers from Ignis website.

Here's the map. This is the first time I tried to post a picture. Let's see if this works. I hope this is the one you were talking about.
Thanks for the info. I found that issue of O & G Journal. There is also another article in the same journal entitled "Israel's first substantial onshore oil find needs horizontal wells for development." I am reading both. This is the kind of information I was looking for. I didn't know anything about O & G in Israel.
Me too. Right now I am happy with that upward crawl. Hope it continues.
Another PR and a close above 6.00. EOM

I hope this stock continues to make a slow steady climb into November unless they make an HHS announcement. Then I hope it takes off like a rocket.
I'm in now so let the run begin. eom
You are probably right. I do think they need to find oil pretty quickly. I hope they are wildly successful and if just one of my penny stock investments would take off I would buy some shares of Zion Oil. I need to do some more research on oil & gas is Israel.
She looks like my caddy. EOM
That's a tough call. I am somewhat concerned that they have perforated several zones on their first well and haven't yet found commercial grade quantities of oil or gas. Of course, when they reentered they went deeper than they had planned just to test the lower zones. I don't think they have dropped back to their original planned zone yet so that is good. It looks like they just ran of money. If they get the full IPO amount they seem to only have one more well planned. They also mentioned an offset well to the first one. They really need to strike oil or gas quickly. I am also concerned that there is only one deep well rig in Israel and all of Zions planned wells so far seem to be deep wells. If any oil company finds a large amount of oil then I would like to find a drilling company in Israel to invest in. They will be booked solid for the forseeable future. The prospectus says they may sell part of their interest in these leases or possibly look for a joint venture partner if necessary.
In the prospectus they mentioned that if the well came in at 100bpd of oil or less it would only pay the ongoing cost of extracting the oil. They really need 1000bpd to make progress and fund future development. I think those numbers are correct but don't quote me. I couldn't find them again skimming just now. I need to verify that.
I need to do some more research on the oil & gas industry in Israel. I think in 4 or 5 years Zion Oil will either be doing well or gone. Currently, I am leaning towards doing well.
Here are two more paragraphs that explain the deadlines.
What happens if the minimum is not met? We have until December 26, 2006 to receive a total of $2,450,000 in subscriptions. If that minimum is not met by that date, all funds received will be returned with interest.
Does "initial" closing mean the minimum has been met? Yes, if the minimum is met, we will have an initial closing some time thereafter, but the exact time has not yet been determined. What is "final"closing? After our initial closing we will continue to accept additional subscriptions to a maximum of $14,000,000, or until some date as agreed between us and our underwriter, but no later than March 26, 2007 (unless extended by us), after which we will have a "final" closing. There could be one or more closings between the initial closing and the final closing where shares are issued and funds are transferred from the escrow account to Zion.
The following paragraph is from their IPO FAQ.
When does the IPO begin and when does it end? Sales in the IPO commenced on September 26, 2006, which was the date the offering was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"). It could end on December 26, 2006 if we have NOT sold at least 350,000 shares of our stock by then. Otherwise it will close when we have sold the maximum of 2,000,000 shares, or earlier if deemed appropriate by us and by the underwriter.
Don't quote me on this but I think I read where they will move to the AMEX once they finish the IPO if they reach their goal.
That’s what it looks like to me. Also, they don’t seem to require you to be an accredited investor. The only requirement seems to be a minimum of 100 shares. I have never participated in an IPO like this.
Good read for O & G investors.
First: This company is in the process of an IPO and I have no connection with it nor the financial resources to participate anyway. I just think they have some excellent general information on their website.
If you are interested in what happens on a drill site and what it means when they talk about multiple pay zones and striking water and the things that can happen, this website has an excellent description. They even include daily drilling and completion logs as well as a little of the thought process behind their decisions. They have road maps that show the boundaries of their leases and even the location of the drill site, in Israel. There are also many pictures of the rig in operation.
I wish all O & G companies could provide this level of detail but I know that companies like BIGN, TRSI, KING, PGPM and others don’t have the resources to do this. Once they reached a level where they could, they would be well served to follow this company’s example of communication.
The website is zionoil.com. Click on the "Project" menu option, then "Location and Geology." The whole page is a good read but the best part is down under the heading Drilling Operations.
Enjoy and take this for what it was intended, just a good read on O & G drilling and why it might sometimes take longer than we shareholders may think.
I just spent an hour reading their website and it has some very good information on what is involved in drilling and completing a well. I enjoyed reading about their Joseph Project. It appears to be temporarily shutdown for now but it is a good read for an Oil & Gas investor. I wish I had the funds to get in on the IPO. Good Luck.
Reckon this will help get IGNIS moving.....

Welcome to the HEPH roller coaster. EOM
Thanks for that reply. I actually wondered if that wasn't true because they had several reports available but they were for specific days. I wondered if it was possible for a MM to do what you said.
Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. Several boards that I follow are always talking about short interest and this helps explain it.
Unless I am missing something Pinksheets.com shows the King short interest at 9,929 share as of 9/26/06 with an average daily share volume of 791,101 shares. The short interest is not even a speed bump in the way of the longs. Is there something else that I am missing.
I tried to peer into my crystal ball to see the future but unfortunately it is cloudy so I can't help you any. Still Long so far.
Well, we jumped back up 10% today on the latest PR. Some analyst still has HEPH a buy with a target at $20. I hope he is right and soon.
New PR .. NAFTA 'Super- Highway' Catalyst to NAEG Growth -- Company Receives Proposal to Manage New Oil Refinery
Wednesday September 27, 1:40 pm ET
In the article it also mentions that there might be some ownership by NAEG. NAEG also stated that this would not alter their current business plan as far as exploration, etc. This could be a nice kicker for the company.
New PR out, confirms your post ...
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hollis-Eden Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:HEPH - News) announced today that it has granted a request from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that the Company extend through November 30, 2006 its offer submitted under Request for Proposal (RFP) No. DHHS-ORDC-DDA-05-12 entitled "Medical Countermeasures to Mitigate or Treat Neutropenia Alone or in Combination with Co-Morbidities Associated with Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS)." While HHS has not provided Hollis-Eden with a new estimated contract award date, based on this extension an award could be made under this RFP at any time prior to the end of November 2006. As previously announced, Hollis-Eden was informed by HHS in June that the Company "is within the competitive range for discussion and further evaluation" on a potential procurement of its lead drug candidate, NEUMUNE(TM) (HE2100), under this RFP. Since that time, Hollis-Eden has been in ongoing discussions with HHS with respect to this potential procurement.
Yes, I was watching that too.. When I first bought the options HEPH was around 4.60 or so. The only thing that can help them now is very big news.
OT: no problem.
I came home and had a beer and my blood pressure has dropped back down to normal, lol. Think I will go to bed now. I hope you are able to chase your little one around. They can be very active.
I will let you know the minute I hear anything.
OT: I just got back....
from the hospital about 30 minutes ago. I set in the waiting room 7 hours for the doctor to spend about 1 hour to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong.
Thanks for the info. Fortunately I have Dec options so I do have some time. I hope they are right.
I don't know what is going on either. As near as I can tell, there was a Project Bioshield RFP that closed on Sep 15 but I can't find anywhere that says when an announcement will be made.

Well, I'm still here and ready. eom
I also had some sep calls that expired worthless although not that many. I am not sure why I bought them after buying the Dec calls. I still haven't seen any news yet.
