1/3/07 Conference call is up.
A couple of things that were said in the CC
Projected # of openings in Jan (subject to permits etc.) 5- 7.
No plans for a reverse split at this time.
UPZS was grilled by one caller with excellent questions towards the end of the call. If it was someone on this message board great job! I think everyone stumbled around trying to answer the questions until Jim Vowler got on the line and clarified some of the issues. It is always good to keep a company on their toes. LOL!
I have a nice position in UPZS. If it takes 3 to 5 years to hit that mark, I'm fine with that too! I will be in my mid to late forties by then.
Hmmmmm. Maybe I will have the UPZS logo tattoo put on my arm if it does well. Well.....probably not. LOL!
I was able to purchase additional shares today for .11 - Let the fun begin!!! I firmly believe that we will see share prices increase to a decent level in Jan but that is IMHO. To date, I have not sold a single share of UPZS. If the price rockets I am going to be a very happy camper. I am holding for the long term looking for an eventual price range of $20.00 - 35.00 (within 2-3 years). Again this is just IMHO. I have six other friends that have invested heavily into UPZS and haven't sold a single share with the same belief.
Anybody trying to get an order filled today???????
Appreciate the answer Couldn't reply privately.
I will tell you this about UPZS, they have a very aggresive business plan and unlike a lot of companies on the Pink Sheets, they are a real company. I can't predict the future - but because of the current low price per share this is a winning pick in the long run. IMHO if you hold on to the stock instead of worrying about the next pr and "flipping" you will do very well.
give it time and be methodical in your choices.
I suggest that you isten to the conference call tommorrow.
Why would you put it into NXXI??? Enlighten me. LOL!
Give it time......
I increased my position with UPZS. Thinking of purchasing more before the week is over.
no. that is it.
I don't think so....
DCHI,
I am not a paying member so I can't reply privately. Some of this is repeated info.
I am in for the long term.
I am very impressed with UPZS. They are IMHO not a typical pink sheet company. This is a REAL company.
I have met a few of the UPZS people including CEO Jim Vowler. Everyone who I have met is approachable and willing to answer questions.
UPZS has a very aggressive growth plan
Bob Fidler is now involved with UPZS. If you don’t know who this guy is take a look through press releases for the company.
This company is dedicated to long term growth. Many of UPZS
backers and stockholders have been associated with the
company for years.
I have talked to many people who have tried the food on the menu
Including a friend who I have known over 12 years who is trustworthy. He says the food is excellent.
Crown
emailed the info to you....

Like yourself, I have concerns right now about timelines etc. I would have purchased quite a bit more if things would were moving quicker, but then again we probably wouldn't have the current low price either. lol. Once they have a few more additional locations I believe this stock will pick up.
Most the stuff I own is on the big boards too. I watch a few on the pink sheets but mainly for amusement. Pink sheets in most cases are a gamble but the possibility of returns are great.
I'm in Southern California. UPZS was brought to my attention by a friend who has a very large position in the company. I purchased my first 5k at .05. I have bought more at .19. It seems that there is quite a bit in the works for now but we shall see. I have a slight interest in becoming a franchisee in the future.
Greetings,
I have been watching this board since I found IHUB in July. I really appreciate all the great posts. From what i have seen in the last few months, this is defintely a board of integrity.
Thanks! Many Blessings to you all.
Tim
Just Curious.....
How many people watching this stock are owners, where you are located, and have any of you considered becoming a franchisee?
Hey Pizzaking...I am trying to decide if I am going to snap up more shares or just hold on to what I have. Now would be a great time to buy. In the long run I expect huge returns.
What else do you have in your portfolio that is not on the big boards?
I have a small postion in UWNK. I think it is another company that is really going places fast. I might be adding additional shares in the next couple of days.
In for the long haul but not too happy with UPZS lately!!!!!!
Sorry missed it due to obligations at work.
pizzaking,
I sent the UPZS conference call info to your email. You might want to make sure it doesn't come in as spam. Info will be coming from hwy71_2000@yahoo.com

Pizzaking,
Just curious...Have you listened in on any of the conference calls? If not let me know and I can get you the number and info via email. Bob Fidler is pretty big news especially in the food business. He has the financial resources and intentions of opening up a LOT of UPZS locations. He has done so in the past with other franchises and he is capable of making these kind of moves quickly.
That is really good news. Thanks and I will look foward to your future reviews on the food. I live on the West Coast so I haven't tried the food as of yet.
ZNSTATED,
Thanks for the post. I think UPZS is making all the right moves. Having Bob Fidler on board is an excellent strategic maneuver. The fact that he wants to invest says a lot about the company. Over the long run I believe "Unique" will surpass California Pizza Kitchen. Very exciting stuff!
I completely agree. Have you tasted the pizza????
Hi Janos,
I was on the CC today but I didn't catch all of it because I was distracted by someone I was working with. I Wasn't sure if the release was Thurs or Friday - thus the vague post. Thanks for the confirmation. I am in for the long haul. I know at least six other people that are also in long term. This is a great company and I am expecting great things.
A new press release should be out before Friday with good news.
Anyone catch the CC yesterday?????
Salon City, Inc. Salutes New York; Chooses Big Apple to Detail National Newsstand Rollout
Tuesday September 12, 12:29 pm ET
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Salon City, Inc. was in NYC this week to discuss the national rollout of Salon City magazine. Stated Steven Casciola, SCI President and CEO, ``We are preparing our plans for the 2007-2008 year, and having our magazine on newsstands and in airports will greatly increase the visibility of the Salon City brand. We chose New York to make this announcement as a salute to a great city that has helped to make SCI what it has become.''

SCI is targeting an on-sale date of its redesigned magazine for January 2007. Circulation and reach will increase dramatically and will include international distribution for the first time in the six-year history of the publication.
Casciola added, ``We are positioning the magazine as the flagship product of the media company Salon City, Inc. With a growing and influential global audience of conscious consumers, we are drawing more people to our unique approach to creating content focusing on celebrities, beauty, fashion, music, lifestyle and other favorite topics of today's readers.''
In January, the magazine will be resized to accommodate the thousands of newsstands and airport-display criteria. ``We will make it smart, sexy, now and real,'' says Casciola.
Salon City's Press Party tour is blazoning the message that the company has gone public and intends to become the number-one media company in the world branding the professional salon industry to the public. ``These are lofty goals,'' said Casciola, ``but we can already see that our leadership and being first in beauty entertainment is setting the stage for much larger initiatives like the ones we are starting to develop in publishing, on-line, in live events and for television.''
SCI's current tour includes stops in New York City (as a salute to DePasquale Salon Systems), Niagara Falls for a press party with distributor Becker Beauty Supply (sponsored by Von Dutch Watches and Fountain Capital Fund, Inc.), and Las Vegas for press coverage of TIGI's annual event. More than 50 additional cities are now being identified for hosting press party events.

Skunksyard,
Good observation. I also own SLON too. :)
Hasher5,
I have been watching the board for some time. I do appreciate the commentary. For the record, I don't follow PAIM blindy if you get my drift.

Here is some news for you.

Scroll down to "View by Security" and type in PAIM next to "Enter an Issue"
That is real good news!!! Thanks for the investigative work! I really like the fact that people are able to see tangible results. When I get further info on anything I will post.
Skunksyard -You are Welcome. Looking forward to strong growth over the long term. For the most part everything I have seen about UPZS is pretty solid. Can't say that about a whole lot of other companies listed on the pinks! lol!
One of the other things I didn't mention in my previous post...I met some of the Franchisees at the hospitality tent. I don't recall their names but in listening to them talk they seemed very committed to UPZS and the continued expansion of the franchise.
One other note - the "Unique" car will be running again, this time at the the California Speedway on September 1st. If I am in town I might attend this event. IMO these type of events are good pr for UPZS and you can pick up a lot more of what is actually taking place in the company than you can from a press release.
Thanks!
Greetings,
I Just wanted to check in and say hello and add my thoughts. I'm not a regular poster but I follow some of the boards very closely. I mentioned once before (in one of my 3 posts), that I have owned stock in this company since it was in the .05 range. I did not have the certificate when it went into the 80's otherwise I might have sold a little (or lot) and bought more when it dropped.
I really like this company but I am restless because things are not moving as fast as I would like lol! I has been in on the conference calls and I have also heard the one person who mutters some "uncomplimentary" remarks at the end of the call.
I was at the Irwindale Speedway for the race and I had a great time. My friend who has substantial shares in UPZS introduced me to CEO Jim Volwer, Garland Harris of Capital Fountain Funds, Tracy Phelps, President of Phelps Motorsports Inc., and Brandon Loverock, the driver for UPZS sponsered car. For the record every one of these people that I mentioned was very nice and approachable and willing to answer questions. They had a hospitality tent including a catered BBQ for sharholders. This was some relief from the blazing sun - it had to have been 120 out there and extremely humid for Southern California.
Although that makes for nice warm fuzzy feeling I wanted to add these comments as to why I like UPZS.
1. This company is dedicated to long term growth. Many of UPZS
backers and stockholders have been associated with the
company for years.
2.Jim Vowler's father has been appointed as the Executive
Vice President and General Manager of UPZS. For the record
he is a well known businessman who has has an extensive
background with companies such as Honeywell International.
His educational background includes Harvard Business School
etc.
3. This company although not exactly hitting projected time
frames is strategically working on building a solid
foundation and is going to be around for the long haul.
4. My friend has actually tried the product and says the food
is excellent. I have known my friend for over 12 years and I
trust his word on food! LOL!
Anyway, thanks for letting me share....
Didn't catch the call but heard all about it.
Because I am located in So CA I'm going to Meet Mr. Vowler and check out the car Saturday.
Because I'm new on these boards I can't post again today. LOL!
Looking forward to posting in the future.
I'm sure I did!
I purchased the stock directly from Fountain Capital Fund and it took a while for the certificates to come in. I ended up putting them into a Scottrade account.
I am pretty new at this type of stuff. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanx
Greetings,
I wanted to say hello to everyone on this board.
I have been following all of your posts for about a week now and I wanted to make some comments in regards to UPZS. A friend of mine told me about this company and i was very impressed with what he had to say. He has met the CEO Jim Vowler and tried many of the menu items. As for myself, I ended up getting in at about .05. Although I would have made a killing when it hit .80+, I chose not to sell because I believe this company is going places. Like many of you I am also watching all the PR and I do want to see how the time frames pan out. So thanks in advance for all of your posts.
Tim
