almost no trading occurring, lot of sitting on hands and waiting for the ER.
I think this news is also a watershed moment for SHWZ. And I hope it follows with more news similar to this with other brands quickly. This is SHWZ starting down the road to being the Albertson's of pot.
Besides the thought the share price action today may be a sign of a reversal, I'm with most of your post. No reversal though without volume, we still don't have the volume to drive any meaningful reversal. But love all the thoughts in your post otherwise and concur that this is the time of the great transformation of the pot sector, former winners into abject losers, losers and also rans prior into winners. SHWZ will be a winner.
Is this another quarter where Shwz sinks to a price like 1.50 if not lower, reports great earnings that get a healthy "percentage" uptick of say 20 or 25% bringing the stock back to a rollicking 1.80 to 1.87 a share before the sellers then sell again the next day? Part of me is thinking I shouldn't even bother watching the stock Friday through Tuesday to spare me the disappointment again before going back to waiting for the next ER...
And in the Upside Down of Stranger Things SHWZ is up today, but not here in the real world. The question remains as to when pot becomes cool again to investors, when there's enough good news on SHWZ to move the needle, enough solid ERs to pull in significant institutional investors. It is shaping up every day to seem like that happens when legalization occurs. Pot has been in a slump, and with retail investors probably hording their nuts to pay for gas, food, ensure against recession and institutional investors still largely on the sideline, I'm beginning to think it's a longer wait that I've thought.
amended 10k, inclusion of info that did not make it to the proxy statement for year end if reading this right.

thanks doc
Let's just say they nailed two that will go up but for different reasons...
I agree. He seems to eat this stuff up - build a company from the ground up, make it a juggernaut. I think he'll sell only when he's satisfied with what he's built, and then he'll look for the next challenge. Money always matters, price always matters, but I don't think that is what will drive Dye's ultimate decision. He'll sell when he's satisfied with what he's built.
jmho
LOL - I love the idea!
Schwazze would be a real stumper for the contestants on Wheel of Fortune btw.
Yes, but like Dye made clear, they are very well positioned. He noted they've integrated their acquisitions fully - quite the feat. What I like most was toward the end where he said two key points
1. Basically, they've got their ducks in order, they are revenue positive, built the team, done these integrations and he's now focused on messaging to get that word out...
2. Because of the above they are well-positioned for capital in-flow better than most cannabis companies out there, and that can only further differentiate themselves from the pack and gain even more market share and growth.
If Safe banking passes, Schwazze is a no-brainer for capital influx, while most other cannabis companies will be selling pencils on street corners and waving tin cups around for charity.
Dye is giddy with excitement. He's loving this. It shows in every presentation.
Thanks - yes, me too. Really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the earnings call when the meat gets hung on these bones.
There's a nice moment when he talks about NM sales first day, then says he's looking at the CFO to not reveal any non-public information...while he's grinning widely. As we know now, those initial sales went very well.
There's a nice clear expression early on about how Schwazze is very sophisticated in their approach - all of which is clear from his past with Albertson's. We all know it, but it's great to see that differentiation clearly expressed in these presentations to investors.
Agreed, I was being facetious. Lots of strong hands on this board, which is nice to see.
Glad to see everyone's still with us - I was thinking the celebration in Denver when this runs would be a lonely affair - me, Fknife, Doc Hoop and the bar and budtender.
It's been very quiet here - did everyone sell and walk away?
Or are we all just waiting on the ER in May?
the note on the Schwazze site investor page has a different date and time, so I assume this new pr trumps that in case anyone was interested in listening in.

Pretty soon he’ll catch up to Drugdoctor
Well, go away in May for pot companies turned into "go away in February 2021 and stay away..." SHWZ keeps squatting around 2.00/share despite the periodic quick dips below that. I'm sure they'll happen again for others to add. Just waiting for May 12 to see if the next ER can act as a deterrent to "Go away in February 2021..."
SHWZ being up .08 on the NEO with 4000 trades is not exactly compensation for the disappointment of congress failing yet again. But it is nice it's up with this news out there.
I think after all the past moves by the Lucy Congress of pulling the football back as Chas comes up to kick, next week may not be as bad since many have seen that schtick before, and may shrug it off as more of the same. And how ironic that in the Senate there's a CHAS in charge...
Sitting back again waiting on the next ER or acquisition.
interview with Steve Pear discussing New Mexico on a newscast
https://www.krwg.org/show/krwg-newscasts
suggests it will take 2 months for clarity on the market in NM after opening. Makes pitch for SAFE banking. Doesn't see it passing in the short term.
Talked about separating medical customers in the stores to ensure they don't feel second tier against the rec customers. Nice attention to customer concern.
Yep, been waiting on the new deck, and I think Steven is right about additional acquisitions being announced shortly, though I'm in the camp they'll be one offs here and there to plug holes in the current coverage of counties in CO or NM.
There's a constant focus on handouts to the lazy individual, despite all studies showing that welfare fraud is smaller than the hysterical news accounts would lead us to believe. Even so, that fraud is a small percentage of the "handouts" our government does: corporations receive a far greater percentage, and the value of much of that largess is not always in the public benefit, in fact frequently is to the public detriment. Those same corporations cook the books and shuffle profits offshore in order to avoid paying taxes. So they are okay with the public benefit of government handouts while not being okay with contributing to the kitty for others (including themselves) to benefit from the govenment's doling out of "welfare" to the corporations. The US is a corrupt country, it's corrupt whether democrats or republicans are in power, since the only real difference between them are subtle nuances in the industries that bankroll them, and differences on issues where their moneyed backers using them as puppets care little to intervene - social issues mainly. All else, both parties are operating from the same playbook.
Either way, SHWZ is finding a way to navigate through this nonsense and remain profitable. The only question is will the market be manipulated at the federal level as we all should expect to benefit the larger corporations who will enter, making it impossible for the smaller entities to survive. I assume that day will come, but for now, SHWZ is a great investment, worthy of being bought out when that day comes.
hope it lasts, at least for a stretch. As he says, the markets will settle down the line, but keep this going as long as possible!
Steve Pear quoted here as noting sales in NM up a good % in the dispensaries,
https://www.koat.com/article/new-mexico-statewide-cannabis-sales-down-but-business-still-up-for-some-dispensaries/39684822
and over 46000 in trades on the NEO today. Volume was good on both exchanges, especially for a Friday.
Yes, volume was nice as we went through the day.
It would be nice for a PR from Schwazze as to how well they did in some of those locations and for us to get a gauge of the market share, etc. For example, Greenleaf in Las Cruces is a bit out of downtown, yet gets good reviews, Yelp has it as third, so it would be interesting to see how much of that daily total they secured. But it's also good to see confirmation is sales numbers that stores along the Texas border did do well like the anecdotal comments were stating the other day.
I am hoping for post roll-out PR from SHWZ about the general numbers, interest for rec in NM.
Second story down on this link talks about Texans formerly heading to CO for MJ now get to stop in NM, reducing pot sales in CO. Nice that we are in NM to keep those customers...

Neo in low volume up 4%. I really thought this ER would have put SHWZ properly in focus. I should have embraced my inner pessimist more fully. Back to waiting on the next ER, and I expect the one after that... Maybe then this company will really be on the investor radar.
I'd work for him in a heartbeat. That culture, example he sets, is a key part of their success and growth.
I too need to read the transcript since I missed portions of the call due to work interruptions. But what I did hear was all positive. The drop in Q4 I felt was well-explained, part of the nature of being in a mature market where now branding, gaining market share become more important. New Mexico is open and will provide a nice jolt. They're committed to capital improvements, and leaning heavily on their store related analytics both for what is placed on shelves in stores as well as which stores to brand/open in various geographies. They continue to do all they promise and more. I wish I had dry powder to buy on any dip today at open.
BTW - if you look at the bid ask on the NEO right now vs the OTC, there is bigger interest in pushing the stock higher on the NEO at open than the OTC. Could that be a lens perhaps into what the bigger players are thinking vs the retail investors? Maybe not right now, but I expect it soon will be as bigger orders begin to show up on the bids.
I'm liking this sleepy day going into the earnings call. 20k traded. probably retail investors who sell ahead of earnings as a general rule. No tipping of the hand. Little over 3 hours to go to see where we stand and what's in store for the next ER. Can't wait.
