Getting through the check-out line these days is a complex process. Quite often, transactions involve technical devices for identification, scanning, printing, data transmission and security evaluation. There is an outfit in Greenville, South Carolina that specializes in the gear and distributes systems to some 18,000 resellers.
ScanSource (NASDAQ: SCSC) is a distributor of specialty technical products for automatic identification/data capture, point of sale, and communications applications. It provides such devices as bar code scanners, receipt/label printers, PC-based terminals, pole displays, call center equipment and electronic security units. The firm sells products from such manufacturers as Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO), IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).
ScanSource got the Street's attention last month, when it announced fiscal Q2 and Q3 results that had been delayed by an internal stock options probe. It beat top and bottom line analyst estimates in both reports and offered in-line guidance for Q4 revenues. Submission of the reports brought the company back into compliance with all Nasdaq listing requirements. SCSC shares popped on the good news and have since been defining a bullish "flag" consolidation pattern. Stocks frequently exit flags moving in the same direction they were traveling when they entered them. In this case, that would be to the upside.
Brokers currently recommend the issue with one "strong buy," one "buy," five "holds" and one "sell." Analysts see an 18% average annual growth rate, through the next five years. The SCSC P/E ratio (19.94), PEG ratio (1.14), Price to Sales ratio (0.44), Price to Book ratio (2.73), Sales Growth rate (21.47%) and Revenue per Employee ($2.09M) compare favorably with industry, sector and S&P 500 averages.
Institutions hold about 95% of the outstanding shares. The stock is one of those used to calculate the S&P 600 SmallCap Index. Over the past 52 weeks, it has traded between $25.22 and $34.14. A stop-loss of $27.90 looks good here. Note that the company reiterated in-line Q4 revenue guidance on Monday. Note, also, that it is expected to report Q4 results in mid-August.
Could explain why they are hiring a new webmaster
Why would he not be?? just because he hasnt issued some sort of PR?
No one "forced" him to stop posting, he just got fed up with all the crap people accused him of (insider info)so he decided to stop posting on his own, cant really blame him, he took it upon himself to post on the blog about NEOM and a few here made it so miserable for him with there accusations that he just stopped.
Excellant post in4it, thanks.
Drmyke3, I really do enjoy your posts and find them informative.I hope that you dont think that im knockin you because thats not it, I really believe that our PPS is being "managed" by someone for some unknown reason. It is my hope also that our new C.E.O has a rabbit up his sleeve and once he takes office we will then begen to see a turn around and the PPS will start in the direction that we are all hoping for,I am also using the low PPS to accumulate and am fast approaching the 1mm mark, for me its the differance of being able to retire in 2-3 yrs or continue to work for the next 18-20...so even though it looks bleak at the moment I really feel that something big is coming very very soon.
take care, and good luck to all of us.
Thanks success622
Good luck Mickey10305
success622, some here like to challenge anything and everything that is posted, it get really really old at times. Thanks for all you do here.
I think the judge will put this to rest this year, he has given scanbuy enough time to try and salvage a case and they can't, so in the mean time scanbuy is trying to get as many contracts signed so that they have the cash to pay for a license
mo-money, my strongest hope is that a new team is in place very soon and brings with it a kick a*s attitude. That and some new money wiil be what i hope is the match to light this fuse, thanks for the reply and remaining hopeful also.
The fat lady hasnt sang yet! nor will she imo.
Doc, Bob, if this is such a huge POS why do you continue to buy in and then tell the board all about it? doesnt make alot of sense to me.
As I said in an earlier post...its not over until the pps is at .000.
Go ahead tell me that its coming and I will continue to tell you that it isnt.
Management is damed if they do and damned if they dont....just cant please some here!
were all pissed Bo,so tell us what we can do to fix the problem? cant undue the past, so IMO its better to focus on the future as thats all we have right now.The only other option is to sell at a huge loss and cut all ties, unfortunately thats not feesible for most here as we have all lost too much money,me, im gonna stay positive and focus on whats yet to come until the day i wake up and see the PPS at 0.0000, then i will know that the game is over..
So how much longer are people going to keep bashing about inept management?? we know that management made huge mistakes in the past and now George O'leary is stepping in to rectify the problem, which by the way should be done soon. Maybe its time to start posting about what the new management team will bring us and who may be are new partner. Now thats being a realist, time to let the past go and focus on the future, all IMO, of course.
I agree with you and yes at times it is hard to admit it, having said that I wish you well with your other investments and hope you make out like a bandit, me? Im not ready to abandone ship just yet, hell we have .038 to go...lol...nah gonna see this one to the end no matter which wat it goes. Best of luck to you and yours!
its not a loss until you sell......
YJ, wasnt there a gap to fill down here around .038 or did it get filled?
I didnt realize JP was leading anyone. Everyone here posts their own interpretation of things, so if you are "blindly" led by someone else then dont blame them especially if you know it may be going down the wrong path.
Interesting article:
Google's mobile effort sees heightened competition
Posted May 16th 2007 10:34AM by Brian White
Filed under: Competitive strategy, Google (GOOG), Yahoo! (YHOO), IAC/InterActiveCorp (IACI)
Leading internet companies like Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) realize that there are more mobile phones in use on the planet than personal computers. As such, both companies have started beefing up mobile phone offerings to ensure they have the latest and greatest tools out there for customers who access the web more from their phones (like much of Japan). In addition to that contingent, there are increasing amounts of customers who are constantly on the go but need to be connected at the same time (a void the BlackBerry has filled quite nicely).
So, Google and Yahoo! (and Microsoft Corp.-- NASDAQ: MSFT) have full information portals ready for your cellphone. Google Maps even emulates the successful Google Earth software by providing driving directions and satellite maps right on your cellphone screen. Enter Ask.com, which has announced that it will integrate GPS (global positioning system) capabilities into its mobile search product, which puts the company in direct and increasing competition with the likes of Google and Yahoo! No surprise there, since the company, owned by Barry Diller's IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IACI), has been competing with both companies for quite some time in internet search.
This may sound insignificant now, but as more computing horsepower makes its way to mobile handsets, and as wireless networks evolve to ensure broadband internet speeds are available to customers, the mobile front will be one of the new frontiers that internet companies will tackle in order to create business models to monetize that space. Right now, Google, Yahoo! and Ask.com are really into the space, and if all three are successful, the hundreds of millions of mobile phones in the U.S. and globally will hopefully become cash cows for those companies that see the vision of what lies ahead
Hopefully it would be close, if nothing else it would allow us to buy our patents back and bank several mil. to run on.
YJ, what do you see coming out of the next MC2 meeting? can we expect some sort of decision in regards to a standard...tia
NEOMROCKET REFER TO POST 120620
sorry bout the caps.....
Thank you beam11, some people here will beat everything down, I wouldnt blame Jeff if he said to hell with it and not post anything else...that crap he is getting is not worth it IMO.
Just for the record I wish to say Thank you Jeff for your openess and honesty.
Careful Drmyke you go sayin things like that here and you will be accused of insider info of some other evil doing because Jeff told you something.....sheeesh!!! some people just have way to much time on there hands.
I appreciate the info Drmyke as im sure most here do. ATB
Edited, I may have to let my "contact" know that Jeff answered your questions and was very helpful.
with www.redneckringtones.com, it shows their site which lets you go to differant sites to down load various ringtones, now maybe its what jonsie was talking about earlier.
very impressive indeed, thanks for that....
by the way i was able to pull up the www.redneckringtones.com, seems to me that it goes to their actual site, fwiw
Let me get this straight, Jeff, a customer of NEOM, goes out of his way to take 5 questions to management on behalf of the shareholders. I'm quite certain that his purpose of going to HQ was his business but he thought he might help out alittle and ask a couple of questions..
Now, if you read his response you see where he states that NEOM is not going to PR everything that is happening and for good reason.
why on earth do you need to throw out your little snippets and bang on Jeff asking if he is our new PR guy? IMO he went way out of his way and didnt have to do a damn thing for us now did he.
Does anyone know which 5 questions Jeff took to management today?
CJ,I think you and 8's are on to something. Our association with News Corp. is going to be far reaching. I think that their trials with QODE are going to be everything they wanted and more, now if Mr. Murdoch is successful in his take over of Dow Jones, then I dont see how NEOM cant help but benefit from it.
Your absolutely right kokonutguy, Jeff had 5 differant attorneys look at our patents and all 5 said they were rock solid. EFF is being paid by someone to do this and do it at this time just to,IMHO, try and cast doubt about the validity of the patents that NEOM holds. This leads me to believe that someone (scanbuy?) is running scared and trying to scarf up as much business as possible before the actual court date when the judge rules in our favor. Mr Mould does not strike me as being stupid and you can believe that he went over NEOM with a fine tooth comb before ever partening up with us.
Very much agree! if our little company wasnt doing anything or wasnt a threat to this space why in the world would so many people be trying to bring it down?? PP, everyone knows that you read this board, perhaps you can enlighten us as to what is causing you all of this fear?? I mean you must have spent numerous hours comparing scanbuy and NEOM'S patents to see who really has the power here to be a MAJOR player and yet you go with scanbuy knowing that you made the wrong choice yet you refuse to concede and admit that you made a mistake, oh well.
jonesie, I was able to view that patent on NEOM'S home page, so at least for now it is still there.
Thanks jonesies I wondered what the "z" meant.
yeah whats up with that? anyone know
correct me if im wrong, but didnt EFF attempt this before? going to the USPTO in an attemt to have NEOMS patents re-examined? I thought I read here last year sometime that they did, and could not provide any prior art so nothing came of it.
clawman, nice to read your posts again welcome back!! even if it is short lived. It will be interesting to see if you get a reply back.
Why does it seem like EFF rears its ugly head every time things are starting to happen?? My guess is that there are people behind them who a scared and know without a doubt that NEOM'S patents are rock solid, this is just another ploy to try and distract any new investors, as streetstylz stated earlier EFF has been beating this dead horse for over a year and have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to show for it nor can they show ANY prior art,but I guess it gives the PP something to keep his stream of mis-information rolling along.
I wasnt aware that we had an office in Aachen Germany.
last line in the PR says we do though.
