We are all frustrated. Unfortunately nobody knows why this market is being irrational and ignoring BAA... there just aren't any bids and every time there is a rally, so many are ready to hit the exits because this has been such an underperformer.... it's a vicious cycle.
I hope management concentrates on paying down some debt before opening another mine.
No - I don't think location has much to do with the price of this security. The stock price performed well when they were just an explorer/developer but that $200M mistake cost them a lot of credibility. For the moment, the DRC is a relatively stable democracy whereas Nevsun Resources operates in a north African dictatorship where the current government is quietly committing genocide yet it's PPs/Market cap is healthy (mind you they stopped producing gold in 2013).
I think we should start expecting more of this market and this extremely undervalued equity. As i've said before, being fairly valued as other juniors would bring it to at least Book Value ($~1.30ish).
I think Banro will announce around 52 koz production in Q2.

Tex - I admire your patience because I lost mine a while back.
I agree. What about $0.30 for a miner that produces 200k per year? It's even more unbelievably undervalued.
Not just the country, its the world wide markets.
Thanks? I am not a bear... I promise!
It'd be nice to have some old time money manager that could give us insight into why this is trading so out of step with the market or to have something concrete. My main anxieties center around missing out on the gold rally. So many of you seem so positive so thanks... keep sharing!
It looks as though if Gold went back to 1150, BAA would be back @ $0.17.
It is always smart to take profitsin these leveraged etns
I've spent two years watching BAA... I think at this point, watching grass grow would be a breeze!
When is it going to move?
Who's going to vote for the Chinese director?
Keep dreaming? Haha
I bought my shares (plus some) back today after flipping them around elsewhere.
I still don't understand why Clay does a chart on this...
It will be interesting to see how high the VIX can go. 2008/09 was just a teaser.
Yep - i've learned my lesson to diversify next time. Costs a little more in commissions but pays off
I was wondering the same about you... maybe it's cause I don't speak Texan
This is starting to look like a broken stock. All of us have been expecting the next event to be the catalyst for two years... Gold Holdings, commercial production, gold price. Next up - h2 production?
Isn't it discounted a little more than that? A lot of miners are trading at price/book vale premiums (greater than 1). It would take Banro a multiple of 5 from here to have a price/BV of 1 and another multiple or two to be valued as its peers. Don't get me started on GS* because they have a negative book value (debt is larger than assets).
Based on these ratios, could have a nice $250M market cap... why so unfavoured?
I had two -10% trades and one 5% trade on this in the last two weeks. I think this game is too dangerous and too fast for me... at least for now in this wacko market.

Discussion of a possible coming panic. These guys have been pretty spot on - I am surprised that this information they've been giving is free.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a free-for-all open board for everyone to voice any opinion they have regarding the future direction of stocks.
Why do I feel this way? This stock is a derivative of a derivative - no amount of pump/dump would move this.
Thanks - i decided to wait until Yellens speech to see what to do. I actually listened to it and it seemed that she did not have much to say so i sold the TVIX (at a loss) on the small spike intra-talk and am happy i did - i will live to see another day or maybe even $1.50 on this ticker.
You are the closest i will probably ever have to a mentor in this arena. Your an anonymous-samaritan demonstrating a lot of goodwill, so thank you. Do you have any reading suggestions to study... I am currently plowing through some David Dreman books.
Have a great weekend!
What was interesting about the close other than the sudden drop on the VIX
Informative post - thank you. I am totally noobing it up here and was trying to day trade it. Was waiting for a pop to $2.90 to get out but she keeps sinking.
I can't read his messages now but I might just take him off ignore if he is LONG gold now! Wow - I never thought it would happen. ;)
BAA $5?
I am curious what you all think about the huge daily volumes for the past week on the VIX. It seems there's lots of 'volatility' activity that is not moving the needles (except for these cursed leveraged derivatives)

Are you looking at gold stocks or say S&P500?
Just ban that alias already, please.
Irrelevant correlations in my opinion...
I did a quick survey of the other VIX ETNs last night... they look to be following approximately the same action. The VIX is up 15-20% this week but none of the index tracking ETNs seem to have followed it this week. Anyone know why? Contract switchovers?
BTW - VIX measures the number of puts, not the action of the S&P. So just because S&P is down, does not necessarily mean that the VIX goes up.
Is the TVIX getting shorted? The timeframe is too short for decay...
Anyone? It simply isn't decay. Is it contracts switch from month to month?
Do you or anyone know why the VIX is up 15% but this is down 5%? Did the VIX do a reverse split or something?
I must admit at being very disappointed with TVIX so far.
Why is TVIX unchanged? I don't understand....
I seem to remember something about Banro debs not being tradable. To get them, one would've had to been part of the original deal. Would this not make their pricing irrelevant?
It is not even WB buying Apple but two of his henchmen. I think warren wouldn't have bought this
So much for my DUST play - bad timing. Oh well...As they say, the trend is your friend and BAA is trending up big-time. I'm back in BAA.
