Eloquent! Thank you eb.
Excellent. So they (Peregrine) got the good doctor on board to present what they and he assume to be startling (my word) Sunrise results. That's a bit of a coupe, unless Spigel thinks HE is the privileged one.
I'm happy with "Lead Author" but what privilege does that hold? Dr. Spigel is not connect to Peregrine, right? Is he THE authority regarding lung cancer? Why not someone from Peregrine? Again, it's all good by me, but as an amateur this is a mystery? Thanks bio. Sorry if this has already been answered.
Agree with the "strong partner" comment but that can be a red herring for the real message here from some which is STOP BAVITUXIMAB!
Powers to be will use ANY source to discredit bavituximab. BP does NOT want to see this drug marketed.
CP, there are very active entities involved in discrediting bavituximab. They do not want this drug to go to market. Period.
Okay. Usually you're more verbose but appreciate your comment.
Any comments/insights?
Top-line results from SUNRISE: A Phase III Randomized Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Multicenter Trial of Bavituximab Plus Docetaxel in Patients with Previously Treated Stage IIIb/IV Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, Monday, October 10, 2016
CJ, any chance this could be a sticky?
Sep22: Phacilitate’s "Immunotherapy Europe" (Strategic Partnering Event), Berlin http://tinyurl.com/hwxax88
...9:50-10:20am WEBINAR - Steve King is Panelist w/BMS/Merck/Agenus: “Analyzing The Business & Partnering Model in Industry & Academia for the Future Dev. of I-O Combination Therapies”
No one has really commented on this topic that the evil Mr. King is giving but you have the idea from some here that Mr. King would have trouble running a fruit stand. Now he's in Berlin before some big muckamucks, (Merck is a big muckamuck, isn't it?) talking about PARTNERSHIPS! What in the world does he know about that! Surprise! Does this sound like Tustin belongs here?
Advancing immuno-oncology business & R&D models at Europe’s inaugural strategic partnering event. Delivering combination therapy, biomarkers, imaging, pricing & reimbursement, R&D and supply chain models to ensure next-generation immuno-oncology success.
Unique, holistic approach to covering oncology combination immunotherapy strategy development - Europe’s only event to successfully combine business/commercial, R&D, partnering and regulatory components, giving attendees the vital big picture.
No other European cancer immunotherapy event offers such a strong analysis of imaging in the strategic context of its critical impact on commercial, R&D and regulatory paradigms.
Europe’s only meeting for the sector with a specific focus on delivering cutting edge biotech innovators yet to define their outsourcing strategies/partners in addition to the more established, later-phase companies.
The only European immuno-oncology event to deliver leading investors from both North America and Europe who are ACTIVELY seeking investment opportunities in the space.
No other cancer immunotherapy event will deliver as many perspectives from Europe’s leading payers, HTAs and regulators: critical, need-to-know information for anyone seeking to develop, manufacture or commercialise their products in Europe.
The only EU-focused active immunotherapy event to offer a full, 2-day stream of in-depth regulatory workshops, offering vital regulatory detail tailored to meet the needs of a global industry audience.
Colocation with Cell & Gene Therapy Europe ensures unique, valuable insights into technologies and modalities of great relevance to, but beyond the cellular cancer immunotherapy realm - eg. autologous, ex vivo gene therapy products such as Strimvelis, soon to receive market approval in Europe.
Of course, we will SOON read that this is mere advertising for this start-up symposium and to disregard it. Believe your own advertising, you know. Well, maybe, just maybe we don't have to wait for Oct 10 to hear more out-of-the-blue news!
I had an aunt who smoked 3 packs a day and ended up with a tumor on the side of her neck the size of a man's fist. She died, of course You can hate the company all you want but how about some cheer for what bavi COULD mean to people like her.
Thanks entdoc. I know enough that extending OS by two months can be stat sig especially in advanced lung cancer but not for a major bump, especially if not cost effective/quality of life. Got it. Sooooo, does Peregrine go to Europe to announce a 2 month extension of OS for this dreadful disease? Is that a big enough deal to bend the ears of these top-flight oncologist /researchers? I really have no idea. I know you're not with PPHM but you're a link to the operating room and have seen drugs come and go for those stage 4 cancers. That's why I ask.
And what about stage 1 and 2 lung cancer? Maybe "we" can't take out the battleship but how about a destroyer (old navy man)?
Look entdoc, we have clever posters that appear to be "entdocs" and know the lingo, but may never have used a band-aid correctly. You're the real deal and what's more, know the score.
Thanks for tolerating an amateur!
Entdoc, would Peregrine take their findings to ESMO if they felt bavi didn't have a fit? You're the doc, not me, so I'll sit quietly for once and listen. TIA
There you are! And I know, heck, stocks go up 20% everyday. Your post speaks only of the RS and financials. Nothing about lung cancer here and hope for a dreaded disease to be corralled and controlled. Nothing. Just money.
Since we posters on little ole iHub know this today:
"Presented data will include a biomarker in the SUNRISE trial that correlated with a statistically significant improvement in overall survival for patients treated with bavituximab in combination with docetaxel compared to patients treated with docetaxel alone."
...don't you think BP knows it too? In fact, the wrong time to begin partnership talks would be AFTER this stat sig info is released to investors. No, I think when we had Sunrise dead and buried, BP was negotiating with PPHM. Such news BEFORE Oct 10th seems not out of the realm of possibility.
Well, maybe not today but I think we can NOW type SOON w/o blushing :)
Bye, bye RS!
Well, the gang's all here to do what 2012 couldn't do. But this time is different. THE WORD IS OUT.
Unlocking great chess moves Jake!
Hello Mr. Hornet. I am fine. I hope you are fine too. Have a pleasant weekend.
I know THE LID is beyond PPHM's control and PPHM has had to deal with outright sabotage and a suspicious ph3. But you have made a poignant observation, albeit about brain cancer. If PPHM made razor blades, okay then, bring on THE LID to keep the price suppressed. But PPHM doesn't make razor blades. It "makes" a product to help cure the plague of the planet, cancer. To me the accumulation is obvious but at what price for the those that need bavi NOW! Half the people posting here will probably need it at some time. More than half. So two edged sword for me. So very tired of being stuck at the same level so others can make an extra buck or two. Or million. What difference does it make! People are dying.
Hate to disappoint you, but no RS is coming. I know you seem to want it awfully bad but it isn't going to happen. Probably an FS by next year if we haven't partnered by then. But no RS for you and the boys. Have a good evening.
REVERSE SPLIT IS NOT COMING AT ALL! Yes Hornet, who IS kidding who!!! LOL!!
Jake, enjoy reading your posts because they are so fair-minded (both sides), to me at least. Like your recent offering here:
my read...
the ball's in play.... mgmt is doing all they can to help the field get cheap shares... russell and latest anomaly.. lots of anomaly's with pphm...
they knew "ground breaking" data well before russell cutoff...
so azn and mrk look like the players ...
sharpen your pencils boys and girls... mgmt has a little more work to do to line their nest.... only 10 mil options this time...
and azn has to sell some more assets..... mrk can stroke a check with keytruda sales... one big entity has to control the tech development and spend a ton.... won't happen w/o control...
avid gets spun out so sk and crew have a home....
do you think the fda sits on their hands with great nsclc results in a predictable subset w/ biomarkers?
Thanks CJ. Never get tired of you posting the upcoming events! Strangely, I look forward to Sunrise results now where for so long (Feb) I despaired. Goes to show that we, none of us here, can know what is tic tocing in Tustin.
I bet the next thing you guys find fault in is the quality of food at PPHM's cafeteria. Anything to get the attention off of Birge and Wolchok and upcoming conferences.
Well, in order to get attention away from Sunrise data dump in October and Dr. Wolchok in Nov, let's talk about something else. How about financials? Yea, that'll work. But it won't. PPHM Freight Train coming your way!
LOL!!!! FREAKING REVERSE SPLIT WILL NEVER GET HERE!!!!!!! LOL!!!!
Horselover, have you noticed the number of opposing PPHM posts today, a Sunday, 9/11 at that! Sunday we usually get 10 posts! Things are looking up!
This headline- 10-10-16: Topline SUNRISE Data Oral Pres. at ESMO’16/Copenhagen - seems otherworldly since February! Wow! Thanks CJ.
I always take your posts, including this one, as a GOOD sign that something is happening at PPHM that will benefit shareholders. Keep posting HD. You are such an encouragement!
Excellent read cheynew! I'm sure when the weekday crowd begins posting on Monday this FACT will bite them badly. Be interesting to read their spin on it! Thanks again.
I know ku. Take a look at jake's last post and I think that THIS is what's happening.

Wait a minute CJ. I thought PPHM was down to just Avid, a mere manufacturing company! In fact, only two of these events deal with Avid. The rest with the "dead and buried" bavituximab and maybe, just maybe, BBs. Thanks for posting as always.
I guess market not buying what you're selling Hornet. 1.2 million traded, just 8% down on so-so earnings. Not many sellers here. But what the heck. We can always LOL our way through life while the FREAKING BOD has its way with us. Maybe you could spread the word at ESMO or ring up Dr. Wolchok to set him straight. What does Sloan Kettering know anyway!
I'll stop now because less is more. Right?
Thanks. Hoping this was going to be a first, but I'll take it!
Yes, sleeping better at night north. BTW, has PPHM ever presented at ESMO before? TIA
That quote speaks volumes about him. Sure could write well though and his articles were polished. I think he was hurt easily and for that I can't fault him except to say that you can't own 400K of any company without some intestinal fortitude and to take it on the chin occasionally.
I was reminded last night of all the hand-wringing here concerning PPHM data dumps and ccs on Fridays. Remember? Well, lately, mid-week has been the norm but no shout-outs from the peanut gallery. Next I'm sure Dr. Wolchok's lab will be credited with Flubber-like evaluations and nothing else. Good days ahead. I just wish a surprise partnership would materialize before our eyes. Soon! JamesGMS sure hinting at something, soon.
Any word from md1225 and his 400K?
