Innovative kiosk called "The next Redbox" captures nationwide interest, and a slice of the $160 billion fast food market
CORONA, Calif., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in custom vending machines, automated retailing business opportunities, and self-service kiosks, announced that they have designed a new machine named "Burrito Box" for their client, and it has garnered massive media attention and social followings, including articles in People Magazine, the New York Daily News and the Los Angeles Times; and has been featured on ABC News, CBS News, Good Morning America, the Today Show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Even Ashton Kutcher has tweeted about this amazing system.
"It's like Redbox, with burritos," according to the Los Angeles Times.
The world's first burrito kiosk distributes 100% natural burritos, with no hormones or antibiotics, and cage-free eggs, plus fresh guacamole and sour cream as sides. The machine also features free Wi-Fi.
"We are pleased to have been a part of the massive attention that this machine has generated, but we are more thrilled to have helped bring this creative idea to life," said Shannon Illingworth, Founder and Chairman of AVT, Inc.
Entrepreneur Denis Koci, the owner of Burrito Box, is passionate about his new business. He saw a need for high quality food and healthy options for today's on the-go lifestyles. He turned to AVT to help turn his vision into reality.
"This is the real American dream," Illingworth commented. "To believe in creating something that has never been done before, and have the courage of your convictions," he added. "That is what made this country great."
In the U.S. alone there are over 200,000 "fast food" locations. Revenue has grown from $6 billion in 1970 to $160 billion last year, an 8.6% annualized rate.
The first Burrito Box has attracted hundreds of customers within its first few hours of operation, and word of the great tasting food from a self-service kiosk is spreading like wildfire.
SB Nation, the fastest-growing online sports media brand, noted that the Burrito Box is "Your new reason for living."
Trendhunter.com probably summed it up best when they said, "I believe it can be said that that the Burrito Box–a vending machine that serves piping hot burritos–is probably America's greatest accomplishment since landing a man on the Moon."

Marijuana industry worth over $2.34 billion and growing fast - FDA says updating machines for compliance will generate $25.8 million..
CORONA, Calif., Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in custom vending machines, automated retailing business opportunities, and kiosks, announced that the new laws that require nutritional information posted on all food and beverage vending machines, and the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana throughout the nation, will create new growth paths for the company.
According to CNN, "The business of legal marijuana is booming," the network reported. "Shares of companies that service the growing cannabis market have been blazing in recent weeks."
AVT provides high-tech storage and dispensing systems used for legal marijuana that include James Bond-like security devices such as biometric fingerprint recognition and identification card matching.
The company also has a contract with a major hotel chain to provide dispensing systems for the new vapor and electronic cigarettes, which are very in demand.
"Many investors are clearly high on the potential for marijuana as an investment," CNN commented.
According to the Huffington Post, the marijuana industry is growing faster than the smartphone market, and is worth at least $2.34 billion.
Additionally, vending operators will have to upgrade or retrofit their systems to comply with Section 4205 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which requires vending machines to disclose calorie content for certain items. The new rules will apply to nearly 5 million machines.
According to a story on CBS, this change will mean big profits for some, and big expenses for others. "In the short run, it will not be small change for small businesses to fit their machines to comply with federal guidelines. It's not a label, but software needed to display the information," CBS reported.
AVT is a recognized leader in software development for vending machines and automated retailing solutions. The company's award winning interfaces have generated rave reviews from owners and users alike.
"We can bring machines into compliance with the new regulations," said James Winsor, CEO of AVT, Inc. "Or we can custom create a new solution for any operator, that includes our patented wireless connectivity, cashless payment systems, and a high definition interactive display that not only provides the consumer with nutritional information, but also entertains, engages, and upsells," he added. "Our solutions are completely unique, dynamic and captivating."

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
The business of legal marijuana is booming in Colorado -- and investors are catching a contact high.
Yes, there are pot stocks. Nearly all of them are thinly traded penny stocks available only on over-the-counter exchanges, but shares of companies that service the growing cannabis market have been blazing in recent weeks.
Medbox (MDBX) is the latest example. The company provides products and services for businesses that dispense medication, such as pharmacies. It announced plans Tuesday to tailor its products for use in recreational and medical marijuana facilities. Shares soared 65%. (Medbox, for the record, is not a penny stock. Shares trade for about $66 and the company is valued at nearly $1 billion.)
"We decided to improve our systems with electronic and biometric locks, which would aid in the safety and security of the marijuana products," said Medbox chief operating officer Vincent Mehdizadeh in a statement.
Medbox already has more than 200 orders for the pot "safes" from customers in six states, including Colorado and Washington, Mehdizadeh added.
The orders are contingent on "licensing approvals," he added. But Medbox is not wasting time. The company has boosted its inventory by placing a large order with AVT Inc (AVTC)., a company that makes vending machines. (You read that right: A pot vending machine is in the works). Shares of AVT surged nearly 120% Tuesday.
Make sure you post the avg price of the stock today..lol

Vending Times Magazine Names AVT as a Leader in the Future of Retailing..
Automated Retailing is not just a trend, it is the future ... and will soon command over $1.1 trillion in transactions.
AVT a leader in automated retailing systems, micro-stores and kiosks, announced that they were singled out as a leader in the exploding automated retailing market, estimated by Research firm IHL Group to be worth over $1.1 trillion by 2015.
"Shannon Illingworth, founder and chairman of AVT has been successful at implementing this concept. For the last five years, AVT has been a leader in developing automated retailing systems, customized kiosks and coffee micro-stores," the article stated.
"For the past several years, there has been a lot of buzz about micro-markets, and a growing appreciation of the implications the micro-market concept has for retailing," the article stated. "Anything that can be identified by a machine -- barcoded, for example -- can be sold through a micro-market."
The article, written by industry veteran Alicia Lavay, President and Publisher of Vending Times, also said that for a long time now, the retailing industry has explored automated systems as an efficient method for handling transactions that do not require the services of a clerk. "For example, if you are running a department store, you would prefer that someone who simply wants six pairs of black socks be able to find and purchase them without tying up a valuable salesperson who should be discussing the availability of sweaters in different colors and sizes," Lavay wrote.
Until recently, these explorations did not catch on because the technology for offering sufficient capacity, selectivity and pricing flexibility just didn't exist. But now it does.
"There is a huge opportunity for a much wider range of automated retailing. Installing in a retail environment gives store owners convenience plus control," the article stated.
AVT plans to be at the forefront of this opportunity, and help define the retailing revolution.

CORONA, Calif., Dec. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in custom vending machines, business opportunities, and kiosks, commented today on a research report that predicted over 35,000 Micromarket locations within the decade.
The study, written by noted market research company Bachtelle and Associates, and published in Vending Times Magazine, said that this is a "new channel" and is "driving more sales, pleasing customers and exciting our industry."
"We predict that there will be 13,000 Micromarkets on location by 2015, and 35,000 within a decade," Brad Bachtelle stated.
AVT is a leader in Micromarket design and development. From their unique UShop systems, to the Marley Automated Cafes, AVT is known worldwide as one of the leading innovators in automated retailing, including self-service systems, microstores, and custom machines.
"The micromarket is not an extension of vending: it's new and different," Bachtelle pointed out. "Vending is a 'buy' system, while a micromarket operation is a 'sell' system," Bachtelle observed. "We are a retail channel."
Joanne Bethlahmy, director of Cisco Consulting Services' Internet Business Solutions Group said that the marketplace is changing – affected by urbanization and substantial movement out of the suburbs with their spacious malls, and back to the city, as reported by Vending Times.
'We think this could be a $7 billion opportunity in the United States," she predicted. According to Bachtelle, this independent evaluation from Cisco, which is not in the vending industry, validates his findings. "There's a huge opportunity here," he said. "Micromarkets are taking us to tomorrow."
"We invite people to call us to learn more about this exciting industry and find out how to participate in this phenomenal market expansion," stated James Winsor, CEO of AVT, Inc.

$28.5 billion out-of-home coffee market now ripe for "Redbox-like" dominance for remaining players..
CORONA, Calif., Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in custom vending machines, business opportunities, and kiosks, commented on the recent announcement that Outerwall, parent company of Redbox, plans to exit their Rubi coffee kiosks venture.
The announcement means that AVT's Marley Coffee Kiosks now have the most recognizable brand in the industry, and have a clear pathway for growth.
AVT's business model for Marley Coffee Kiosks is different than Outerwall's strategy for their Rubi Coffee Kiosks.
"There are several key differences in our strategies," stated Shannon Illingworth, Founder and Chairman of AVT, Inc. "We allow individual entrepreneurs to get involved and take ownership of territories," Illingworth commented. "We also have the strength of the Marley brand – one of the most successful names in the world."
In a CNN Money article, Mickey Goodman, a professional marketer and professor at New York University's Stern School of Business, said, "Marley is a strong global brand. He enjoys a high level of awareness, and people feel positive about his music."
Sanjay Sood, a UCLA marketing professor and faculty director of the Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment & Sports, said in a New York Post article that Marley ranks among the top celebrities in terms of dollar sales.
"AVT has earned a reputation as a leading innovator in the custom vending, automated retailing and self-service kiosk industries," Illingworth stated. Leading Investment Firm Initiates Coverage with a Buy Rating and a $2.60 Target Price..
AVT a leader in automated retailing systems, micro-stores and kiosks, has been given a "Buy" rating from Zacks Investment Research.
With revenues that have almost doubled each of the last four years, AVT has become a leading developer and supplier of innovative automated retailing systems, self-service kiosks, and micro-stores. Management's goal is to reach $100 million in revenue by the end of 2015.
"Trends support this robust growth," according to Zacks. "We believe the growth of automated retail suggests strong opportunities for AVT."
"The shares trade at a multiple of roughly 1X on a market cap to TTM revenue basis, which in our view does not mirror AVT's expected growth. Our $2.60 6-month price target implies a multiple of 1.2X on our 2014 revenue forecast."
AVT has recently expanded their facility and increased production capabilities to accommodate rapid expected growth. "We are very conservative in our revenue projections, but have geared up for much faster progress," according to James Winsor, CEO of AVT, Inc. "We anticipate continuing our pattern of exponential revenue increases."
The report noted that AVT has invested heavily in research and development, which resulted in an important patent that will lead to additional revenue generation.
"The company has five focus areas and each one provides a revenue stream," the report stated. Areas are: Automated retailing design and development, leasing and financing, advertising through AVT's exclusive media network, licensing the company's industry-leading patent, and company-owned systems that include Marley Coffee Automated Stores and the innovative Utique self-service boutiques.
Zacks is a leading investment advisement firm, noted for their commitment to independent research and sharing profitable discoveries with investors. Their proven stock-rating system has nearly tripled the S&P 500 with an average gain of +26% per year the past 17 years.
"We believe the addressable market for AVT's products and services is large," Zacks report concluded. "AVT shares present one of the only pure play ways to gain exposure to automated retail."
