Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s threat to filibuster any new gun restrictions is gathering steam, as a dozen of his Republican colleagues have now signed onto his plan.

The Kentucky Republican and Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) first wrote to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid late last month to warn him of their intention to try to tie up the Senate if, as planned, Reid moved forward with legislation that would expand background checks and attempt to crack down on interstate gun trafficking.

Reid is expected to bring a gun-control bill to the floor as early as next week, or perhaps the following week, and Paul is renewing his vow to try to block the measure. Paul’s follow-up letter, obtained by POLITICO, bears Monday’s date and is signed by 13 Republicans, including fellow potential 2016 presidential aspirant Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) — who signed on shortly after Paul’s first threat was issued — and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Jerry Moran of Kansas.

Protesters Fly Drone Over General Atomics CEO's House in La Jolla

Approximately 40 protesters gathered outside of Neal Blue's La Jolla Farms home Friday morning to demonstrating against the use of “killer drones” under both the Obama administration.

Activists gathered outside of General Atomics CEO Neal Blue's La Jolla home Friday morning to protest against the drone industry, which has a large presence in San Diego.

CODEPINK, a national anti-war organization, staged the event to call attention to the billions in taxpayer's dollars the U.S. government spends on the use of drones.

Many of the 40 protesters participated in role-play. Tighe Barry, of Los Angeles, dressed as Blue with dollar-sign glasses, suit and tie and bag of money to rally the crowd. Many others wore fancy dresses and pig noses.

In addition, the group read the names of minors that it said had been killed by General Atomics’ drones in Yemen and Pakistan.

"It's so exciting to see that people around the country are now questioning the use of drones to kill people around the world with no accountability," said CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin in a statement. "Focusing on General Atomics in San Diego is absolutely critical, as it is a company that literally makes a killing out of killing. It's time to name and shame the companies and people who profit from keeping us in a terrible cycle of endless war."

The group also flew a remote controlled "drone," which was about the size of a loaf of bread, in front of Blue's house.

I'm in Michigan and the Sky was a nice royal blue Friday (yesterday) until after 3pm and the jets were making their rounds and within about 2hrs the sky was covered with lines and shortly after that those lines spread-out and no more blue skies, I was so damn angry, I could hardly stand it.
As if this isn't bad enough, I tell people about it and they "Do Not" comment back, they "Do Not" want to talk about it. It's as if I'm talking about the most taboo thing ever, as if they just want me to go away.

A background check took only a matter of minutes to complete, Kelly said in the Facebook post, adding that it's scary to think people can buy similar guns without background checks at gun shows or on the Internet.

But Kelly couldn't immediately take possession of the rifle because the shop had bought it from a customer. As a result, the store is required by a Tucson ordinance to hold the gun for 20 days to give the city enough time to make sure the weapon wasn't used in a crime.

Store owner Doug MacKinlay said Monday in a Facebook post of his own that he "determined that was in my company's best interest to terminate this transaction prior to his returning to my store."

"While I support and respect Mark Kelly's 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible manner, his recent statements to the media made it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer M400 5.56mm rifle from us was for reasons other then for his personal use," MacKinlay said in the statement.

He added that the store will return Kelly's money, donate the rifle to the Arizona Tactical Officers Association to be raffled as a fundraiser and make an additional contribution of $1,295 -- the value of the rifle -- to the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program.

(CNN) -- When assuming office, every government official must take an oath to abide by and uphold our Constitution. Since 2010, I have made that my mission in Congress. Unfortunately, the Obama administration is not upholding nor abiding by the Constitution -- in fact, this administration is going to great lengths to continually violate it.

Its most recent transgression involves the use of domestic drones.

These small drones are to be used as a crime fighting tool for law enforcement officials. But is unwarranted and constant surveillance by an aerial eye of Big Government the answer?

In a memorandum issued by President Barack Obama's secretary of the Air Force, the stated purpose of these drones is "balancing ... obtaining intelligence information ... and protecting individual rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution."

However, flying over our homes, farms, ranches and businesses and spying on us while we conduct our everyday lives is not an example of protecting our rights. It is an example of violating them.

The domestic use of drones to spy on Americans clearly violates the Fourth Amendment and limits our rights to personal privacy. I do not want a drone hovering over my house, taking photos of whether I separate my recyclables from my garbage.

That's more good news on the Rand Paul front.

Either way, Americans are Not buying guns at a staggering rate just to give them up simply because, the current Government administration says to.

A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

While largely omitting Islamic terrorism - the report fails completely to mention the 1993 World Trade Center bombing – the study focuses on Americans who hold beliefs shared by the vast majority of conservatives and libertarians and puts them in the context of radical extremism.

The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.

- Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

- Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

- People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

- Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

- Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;

- People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

The report also lists people opposed to abortion and “groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers” as terrorists.
As we have exhaustively documented on numerous occasions, federal authorities and particularly the Department of Homeland Security have been involved in producing a deluge of literature which portrays liberty lovers and small government advocates as terrorists.

The most flagrant example was the infamous 2009 MIAC report, published by the Missouri Information Analysis Center and first revealed by Infowars, which framed Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag, as potential terrorists.

The rush to denounce legitimate political beliefs as thought crimes, or even mundane behaviors, by insinuating they are shared by terrorists, has accelerated in recent months.

Under the FBI’s Communities Against Terrorism program, the bulk purchase of food is labeled as a potential indication of terrorist activity, as is using cash to pay for a cup of coffee, and showing an interest in web privacy when using the Internet in a public place.

As we have documented on numerous occasions, the federal government routinely characterizes mundane behavior as extremist activity or a potential indicator of terrorist intent. As part of its ‘See Something, Say Something’ campaign, the Department of Homeland Security educates the public that generic activities performed by millions of people every day, including using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application,” are all potential signs of terrorist activity.

The DHS stoked controversy last year when it released a series of videos to promote the See Something, Say Something campaign in which almost all of the terrorists portrayed in the PSAs were white Americans.

Even if the vote went the other way, it still violates the United States Constitution and the All American Peoples Constitutional Rights including the most important Amendment of them all; the 2nd Amendment.

After visiting the United States in 1831 and 1833 to discover why the new nation was meeting with such success, Alexis de Tocqueville observed that "America is great because America is good."

John Adams stated that "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

A moral people is a people that follows set standards in morality, law, and act in a manner that is civil to his fellow citizen. The U.S. Constitution is the set standard for the system of governance in place in the United States. The writers of the Constitution researched history, seeking to form the best system of government that could both protect liberty, and stand the test of time. These men realized that there is no perfect government, and that though political systems are prone to become tyrannical, government is a necessity in a functioning civilization.

The States, as autonomous entities, were less likely to become oppressive against the people because the governments of the States were closer to the people, and more easily managed by the people. However, individually the States could not defend themselves against foreign invaders, nor accomplish establishing uniform standards that would be beneficial to the union. Therefore, the Founding Fathers realized America needed a centralized government to protect and preserve the union.

Centralized systems, as one looks back into history, are always the source of oppression and tyranny. The task the founders realized they were faced with was how to create a central government that did not act in a tyrannical manner.

The answer to their quest lied in the sovereignty of the States, and the value system of standards the people of the United States hold to. As long as the people's ability to self-govern at the State level regarding local issues, and a set of authorities granted to the new government remained limited and strictly followed, the bells of liberty may ring in the young nation for many generations to come. Holding to those standards, however, required that the people be a virtuous people that adhered to a specific set of morals, standards , and an overall practice of goodness.

The moment the people's view of social standards might become relativistic, their view of the law of the land would be soon to follow in kind. In other words, if society was unwilling to follow a system of set moral standards, how could they expect their politicians to follow a system of set constitutional standards?

It is from this belief in relativism that has led to the emergence of a belief that the Constitution is a living document that can be changed based on the whims of one's views of what they think it should mean. Under the onslaught of a relativistic view of the Constitution, the original intent of the set standards contained within the pages of the Constitution seem to have gone out the window.

Those who take a view that the Constitution can be twisted at will because it is somehow a living document that bends and sways with the times believe it to be such because they do not like the system upon which it was founded. Those who claim the Constitution is a living document are simply collectivists who wish to downplay State sovereignty, and expand the powers of the federal system. They call the Constitution a living document because they do not wish the federal system to follow the limitations set forth in its pages. They call it a living document because they wish to circumvent the set standards put forth by the Constitution. They call it a living document because they wish to transform the very foundation of the political system of the United States into a socialist system the Founding Fathers never intended it to be.

Executive Orders are not specifically mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Many Americans falsely believe that executive orders, in addition to the functions of modifying how an executive branch department or agency does its job (rule change), or to issue a proclamation, can modify existing law. Modifying law, however, would need to accompany the authority to make law, and that authority rests solely with the Legislative Branch. Therefore, any executive order that modifies the law is unconstitutional. Article I, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution grants to the Congress all legislative powers, therefore, the Executive and Judicial branches cannot make law, repeal law, strike down law, or modify law. Only Congress can.

Executive Orders are nothing new, for George Washington issued several Presidential Proclamations. Executive Orders and Proclamations, once again, are not law, but they do sometimes have the effect of statutes. A typical modern Proclamation might declare a day to be in someone's honor.

The Emancipation Proclamation had a broader effect, but did not free the slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation was not a law. It was a proclamation. It did change the course of the war, proclaiming the Civil War to be all about slavery, which encouraged the European Nations to step back in regards to their support of the Confederacy.

In line with that, we have often seen executive orders instruct the government to do no business with a country we are at war with, or to declare a day an official. . . fill-in-the-blank. In the political world, Executive orders are said to be subject to judicial review, and can be declared unconstitutional (not that the courts have that kind of power - see Myth #4). Executive orders hold no power over law, so States can simply refuse to follow unconstitutional executive orders if they so wish. Congress can refuse to follow executive orders that attempt to modify law, as well, since the Legislative branch alone is tasked with making law. Problem is, Congress has not been functioning in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, and has been allowing the executive branch to wield power it is not constitutionally afforded.

And sure, I know people want to live and to fight back means they might get hurt and/or killed but, the alternative is life as a voluntary serf or death.
People that would fall for this trap means they did Not learn from history and it also means they are cowards?
That's what happened to all those (over) 56 million people of the 20th century that didn't fight back against their tyrant Governments.
I have no doubt many of them were unable to fight or didn't have the weapons or resources to fight back (I'm not calling those people cowards) but, just how many didn't fight back that did have the means?

The American Citizens are armed far more than any of these people of the 20th century and if "We the People" that are armed, don't fight back, we will either be serfs or dead if this tyranny to remove our guns, our 2nd Amendment rights isn't stopped.

No one wants to get hurt and no one wants to die but, I also find it astounding that people that don't want to get hurt or potentially killed (knowingly), would give-up Freedom so easily and live as a serf before risking personal harm or harm to their family with zero guarantee their life or their families life would be spared.
