arkieboy...I stand corrected..I sure hope that you will write the independant BOD and demand their ouster...without severance pay. Like I said a little while ago, with the impending dilution, it looks like Lawyerlongs timeframe will be right on..only backwards. Instead of the PPS and the company moving to new highs...The pps will more than likely be at all time or close to all time LOWS.
Cass..this Woody good ole boy club is responsible for a lot of shareholder value being evaporated into thin air.. That is why shareholders need to take a pro active stance... Threatening the independant BOD is a great start...I do believe that they could be held personally responsible for their inactions.
Funny..I had a talk with Putnam today..I told him that you have the shareholders by the short hairs..its either print the shares or go outta business..They know what they are doing.. There should be a stipulation that Falk Fergusen and Putnan get a pink slip.
FF..I ha...either the tech is useless (sorry doni)..or the marketing is useless... the only thing that you can change is the marketing.. Get rid if falk to see...
FF..good one.. A most excellent close today... it seems that shareholders have nothing to worry about yeah right.. Remember folks..keep them cards and letters comming... Time to give Falk the boot.. RP too... Todays small sell off is a harbinger of things to come...Edig is not producing..
Cass.. nicely done..He is pretty darn useless..those questions are about all there are. An automated response would save tons of money....AND nobody will know the difference..
HH
I have no problem with the engineering team.. They know their $hit..Atul ..I believe is now a figurhead..all his press releases sound like Falk wrote them anyway. I am seriously pissed at Freddy boy... and will do all I can to change things around..
Hh
Arkie.. I would truly like to wipe the smile off his face. I have friends that are actively working on a sec investigation into his past deeds. At the very least..he needs to go away. I believe that would be a good start in rebuilding shareholder confidence.
The lack of any news says it all. I believe that whatever news that is around the corner will be saved to placate pissed off shareholders in a feeble attempt to soften the blow for the next round of stock printing. There is probably nothing anyone can do.. the highly skilled management has once again failed to operate the business as it was planned to. You know... invent a product...sell it ..make money off it. May be the tech ain't worth squat..But..if the companys failure is due to even a small part of inept sales, someone needs to do something about it. Obviously, it ain't working. Write the BOD and demand that they do their duty. Try anything..Just do not let Falk have the last laugh.
moxa..this guy is a friend of mine...He has a lot of shares..

FF.good question... judging from past experience ..I would say that it is not a good thing!!!!!

Cass..In a recent e-mail to RP, I asked if edig was ashamed to be "affiliated" with I Kant. His reply was that they were not..And that their loan was paid in full.. Next sentence was that it was Ran Furmans deal that he put together..That IMO was a company wide BOD decesion.. Not Ran's fault entirely. I then asked him why they had to pair up with Basso and their PIPE.. No answer.. The real answer is that a normal lending institution would not loan them money.. Because edig could not offer them any insight as to what is going on behind closed doors. Cause there wasn't anything. Only the shareholders could be bull$hitted. Come on folks.. lets keep those letters and cards comming..
Hh
FF..true..Although I do not harbor any ill will to those who truly innocently believe in edig tech.(doni). You gotta ask yourself...If the MOS was so darn special..how come not one single solitary company has licensed it in all these years. To a point I agree with you on not edig fault concerning the fortune cookie companys. BUT...I totally hold edig management culpable concerning their statements over the last five years. Falk, in particular needs to be taught a lesson. (along with thousands of other CEO's ..LOL) I have always contended that.."just because edig is an OTC bb company...That does not give them the right to mislead and lie to the shareholders. Its just that simple.
Hh
Cass.. thanks for info... To the best of my knowledge, each of the three indie BOD's has been sent several letters from angry, large shareholders admonishing them to take their positions more seriously. Too bad you got me the info on the new laws holding them accountable after the fact. The content of the letters were demanding the removal of a non performing sales department, and disclosing that there is a very good chance that if Falk is indeed releated to the late Helmut Falk, that nepotism will not be tolerated.I just cannot believe that there are not hundreds of infuriated shareholders who are sick and tired of the companys past record of deceit and storytelling. All concerned shareholders..it is your right!!!!!A good house cleaning is paramount for renewed investor confidence... BTW... are you ready for that large file I wanted to send you??
HH
FF..Ya think... Today I sent an e-mail to RP...The kind that he does not respond to. I asked him ..In spite of edig closing deal after deal over the last two years and bringing in huge revenues, what are the chances of shareholders being rewarded with edig printing millions of brand new shares to dump on the market..or..if we are lucky...maybe...just maybe a friendly offshore entity will take a stake in the company again so they will short the stock into oblivion. All shareholders should pose these questions to them...
Hh
FF..you got that right .Bruther.. I believe that those days are over. It should have happened years ago..Some good people might not have lost their hard earned dough.
HH
Hi Cass..Not only would I not be a buyer at this time..I believe that every shareholder (who cares about their investment) Should demand that management come clean with the truth. If there is something that has taken a turn for the worst, they have a duty to tell shareholders. And.. shareholders should get in touch with the independant BOD and demand a house cleaning. Other than IFE...what has edig done in the last two years... I'll tell ya... They have printed millions of shares to pay their worthless salaries, and borrowed millions at loanshark rate interest rates. For years on end, I have watched the going to the moon statements be replaced by a different set of go to the moon statements as soon as that genius Falk thought that shareholders would fall for them. The silence of the company was brought upon them by legal threat. More than likely, if this did not happen, the to the moon statements would continue unfettered.
Sabre..LOL..true..lunch is gone though.. BTW..your handle..Sabre.. F86 super sabre ???
I am about to lose my lunch... Daboss is over on the Fools Board connecting dots again..
Why bring up another one of Falks old fantasy hype stories and not bring up the first tier automotive supplier story, or the one million players, or the people outside the travel and leisure industry wanting to brand the kino.or the Kino players and kiosks. OR..why not connect the dots to the whos who in the CE business listed on the company website that are partners but have not used edig since the failed Data play years ago.
His Post::
I couldn't help but recall this statement by the company when I read the news of SAMSUNG and MSFT working on a flashed based HDD solution.
'Not only is the flexibility of MicroOS appealing to OEMs, the MicroOS core is in demand as a stand-alone technology. As we have previously disclosed, we are negotiating a non-exclusive license of our MicroOS technology with a multi-billion dollar technology company. We are pleased to report after several months of negotiation, a formal agreement is under review at the executive level of this major OEM.'

'The hybrid hard drive prototype uses the flash memory as both the write buffer and boot buffer...'
FF..Sorry..I lost your e-mail.. Could you get it to me???
HH
Orugun..I have left the Agora board some time ago.. I was called a basher..a malcontent..a trouble maker... THE TRUTH was all I wanted..no more no less. You won't find it there..and you certainly will not get it from the company unless shareholders band together and demand it.
HH
HRH... you are the best..LOLOLOLOLOL..
HH
Who will post this on Agora???? I wish I could...It won't matter...the post will be deleated soon after..
HH
Sinkman...very good post...My patience has been withered by years and years of edig's failures. Selling for me at this point would be moot...But...the only stinking possible reason for edig to not release any info (other than having something to hide) IS that Digeplayer/system is the best thing that ever happened to them...AND...they do not want to screw this one up.. But that is probably just wishful thinking on my part..
HH
Sinkman..sorry..My rambling kept me from making the point I was trying to make... EDIGs silence could be to let "friendly" investors sell off their shares into any positive news besides digesystem AND..once again leave common shareholders holding the bag..This is only my opinion..
HH
Sinkman..I do not agree with you on that. EDIG has a past history of keeping bad news away from shareholders as long as humanly possible. A good example of many was during the ASHM a few years back when Jim Collier was abruptly fired and Falk just stood there like the village idiot shrugging his shoulders. There were about six months of total silence from the company leading up to that day. (to me...there is a sickening resembelance of that time period to the current silence.) I am sure the problem was festering months before the ASHM embarrassment. All shareholders MUST insist on the truth from management...It is their legal right. NDA's are one thing..(and edig hid behind the guise of them for half a decade)..But..there are way to tell shareholders without violating NDAs.
chwdrhed...I find the perpetual want ads on edig's website suspect. You would think that they would have hired the talent they needed a very long time ago. I think that those positions are listed to give investors the feeling that the company is expanding and growing. BTW..HRH..its good to see someone else confront the cheerleaders on Agoura. It is so stupid to have a board devoted to a speculative stock that only paints a pie in the sky picture. A truly fair chat room MUST look at both sides to get to the truth. If investors in edig think that the management is giving them the whole story, they are in for some surprizes. IMO your take that the Basso pipe thing is of serious concern to investors is dead on, and watching mister know it all on Agoura belittle any dissenters is pathetic
HH
Cass..It is truly amazing that LL and his brown nosed cohorts can take anything that tells of edig's fiscal and managerial short commings and spin it to death. With edig's involvement with embedded IFE very questionable( and if they are, no installs till the first quarter of next year) and large scale sales of the portable IFE still not showing in the financials. WHAT is the status of all the oems that have come on board. This is the real problem right now...Acording to Atul the majority of revenues for edig this year will be from IFE. What he is basically saying is that Fred and Fergie have not sold squat to anyone else. People need to wake up and smell the coffee..The gravy train for them needs to stop now. My prediction...At the ASHM,after telling shareholders that there are people lining up outside the door to license edig's platforms...they will then tell the shareholders that they need to issue another fifty million shares to " finance growing OEM business" The same line they have used during the last several dilutions.. And shareholders amazingly still fall for that line.
HH
Ryanair dropping IFE..

Perhaps this is why there seems to be no significant new ife orders as of lately. I wonder if airlines are waiting for the Panasonic player to be offered. Their product support is already in place..When the 800 LB gorilla pushes itself into edig's territory...It is NOT GOOD NEWS..
Panasonic to debut handheld this year
April 11, 2005 - “IF YOU can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” That seems to be the reasoning behind Panasonic’s announcement that a handheld product will soon join its range of IFE systems.
Though physical details of the new offering are still sparse, the company says that the first of a family of Portable Media Players (PMPs) will be launched in the second half of this year. The Panasonic range is currently spearheaded by today’s eFX and the in-development eX2, both of which are embedded systems.
“We are pleased to offer portable IFE as an extension to our X-series product line,” says Chris Lundquist, general manager product planning. “For certain markets and airlines, portable IFE is perfect.”
The first PMP to see the light of day will feature a 7in screen, an integrated credit-card reader and a graphical user interface able to support advertising and airline branding. Larger screen sizes and added functionality are to be introduced next year.
Industry observers suggest that Panasonic plans to steal a march on the present market leader, APS/Wencor’s digEplayer, by offering a device capable of communicating wirelessly with a head-end server on the aircraft. This would allow PMP to provide not only entertainment playback but also interactive functions such as data communications and inflight shopping.
Panasonic has also clearly heeded emerging signs of dissatisfaction with the level of in-service support currently on offer in the handheld sector. Describing PMP as “a total solution approach,” the company says that its worldwide maintenance services group has the infrastructure and experience to manage content loading, battery charging, maintenance and servicing.
Cass..On top of that..remember the Softeq headset that follow on orders were"EXPECTED"..then the picture vanishing off the website. Same with the audio players that were going to number one million units. What will be next??? BTW..thanks for the info..I will put it good use..
HH
I too am getting no response from RP...I do not know what to think at this point.. There is something else that has recently come to my attention. How long does it take to fill a couple of engineering positions. Edig has had the same ad want ads on their website for months on end. This is suspect IMO..The positions are just there to give shareholders the feeling that the company is growing its business and needs the added talent because they are so swamped with all their many ongoing projects. When actually..other than IFE..they have not closed any new deals in years..
I wonder who is responsible for the late delivery ... Lack of good logistics will ruin a good idea. As far as IFE goes..all edig can do , is to design and deliver the products..All other aspects of the DP are controlled by Wencor..It is up to them to make it succeed...But...It has now been nine months since Falk has "stepped down" to focus his ample talents on marketing the video products. Nine months is a serious amount of time with no news.. Some things never change ...Falk is consistant in his lack of accomplishment.
HH
Wencor dropping the ball..all the cheerleaders on the Agoura board will drop their pom poms with this news...Competetion from Panasonic...
April 5, 2005 – IMS INFLIGHT has sold its PEA handheld IFE system to another two airlines and is trialling it with at least one more. Further sales announcements are expected soon, according to IMS chief executive Alan Pellegrini.
In a clear sign that the handheld market now has another major player alongside the pioneering APS with its digEplayer, California-based IMS announced today that India’s Jet Airways and Harmony Airways of Canada had joined Brazilian carrier Varig on the PEA customer list. The system is also being trialled by Singapore low-cost Valuair, and evaluations with a number of other carriers are known to be in the offing.
Meantime, industry sources indications that Panasonic is about to jump into the handheld ring, while there are signs that APS and parent company Wencor are beginning to run into logistical problems arising from the phenomenal early success of digEplayer.
India’s biggest domestic airline, Jet Airways plans an initial launch of PEA this month on three Boeing 737-800/900s. Content will comprise Hollywood and Bollywood films, along with music videos and short programming.
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 34 Boeing 737-400/700/800/900s and eight ATR 72-500 turboprops on over 270 daily flights to 44 destinations in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. It plans to launch services to London, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur later this year.
Vancouver-based low-cost Harmony Airways flies Boeing 757s to Toronto, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Maui (Hawaii) and Palm Springs (California). It is expected to reveal its plans for PEA next month.
Singapore’s Valuair is evaluating PEA on its route to Perth, Australia. The PEAs are available on loan for a rental charge of S$10 (US$6), covering use of the device and purchase of a headset. Content includes films, TV programmes, music videos, music and games. “We understand the need to offer something that will help make flying these longer distances enjoyable,” says Valuair PR manager Nilesh Pritam. “Depending on demand, we will increase the number of sets available.”
A potentially formidable competitor for PEA and digEplayer is due to be unveiled this week. Panasonic is reported to be telling content providers that its offering will be ready for a security check by the third quarter of this year. Other sources suggest that the new product will differ significantly from the standalone PEA and digEplayer, delivering its content not from an integral hard disc but wirelessly from an onboard head-end server.
In a rare reverse for the digEplayer juggernaut, Canada’s Air Transat is reported to have terminated a trial at the beginning of this month, four weeks ahead of schedule.
Unlike some other recent handheld triallists, the carrier is said to have prepared well, ensuring that there was French as well as English content, rostering a trained and dedicated flight attendant on each digEplayer flight, and offering the players on suitably long flights.
But it is reported that the trial was undermined by a number of factors – late delivery of some of the 100 leased units, serviceability problems and lack of spare parts, and the cost and quality of content, particularly in relation to French-language material. Air Transat is believed to have now turned its attention to PEA.
HRH... Bravo for you dude... The Lawyer Long board is outta control...Speaking your opinion is at least as good as anybody elses...(unless you are LL)I too share your concern for the shorting issue. I sincerely believe that all the big brokerage houses, hedge funds and a host of others have perpetrated the largest swindle in US history...period... It is the same old story..avarice and greed by the rich who want to get richer.. And a government that caters to them because they are the ones that get them reelected. Once a politician gets elected...they spend most of their time working on their reelection. As far as edig being naked shorted... I believe that has also happened...edig is a prime candidate for naked shorting. Lousy revenues..a management team that has for year after year over promised and under delivered..With the possibility of great news historically remote..and a short squeeze equally remote..edig was the perfect shorting stock... The stock action last Dec.-Jan surely had something suspect to that nature. BTW...ediglong..the chimp picture was THE BEST.. A very accurate discription..If I do say so myself.
FF..thats right..every shareholder that would like to really know the truth as to what is going on, Should demand to know the extent of involvement with Wencor. As for other projects...If shareholders do not start questioning edig as to why things are not happening with all the other talked about projects... micro OS licensing to multi billion dollar companys, automotive , the "Indian connection" that Atul personally told me about LAST AUGUST, Kino...The list is nauseatingly long. Management will continue to collect their pay while they are laughing at the sheep they have fleeced.
Cass..so true..they saw the rapid decay in the pps...they saw millions slipping through their fingers..they had to release the pr.. Nice people
HH
MI..pretty good synopsis.....Although I believe that you sugar coated it a little. You forgot the part about of the Nasdaq listing PR..When within a day or two..Falk and company unloaded millions of their shares when in fact they were not qualified to apply. Or of Falk giving himself year end bonuses for a job well done. This speaks volumes of the ethics and character of the company.
MacIsle..totally funny.. Fred Falk a salesman???. Salesmen close deals..Falk bull$hits edig shareholders into believeing that there are deals on the horizion. When a year or so goes by and nothing happens, he starts it all over again. Now...the company says nothing... more than likely due to dozens of threats of litigation for their past statements that never come to pass. He is a pathetic waste of shareholders money and trust.
HH
