Yes uranium is an issue, but a routine issue, just a matter of documenting and getting another permit, and that in mining-friendly (foresty industry struggling) Ontario, Canada.
"by the 10 people who post here." Bogus!
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/top_boards.aspx
Sarissa has 641 board marks, and ranks 83 overall on ihub's list of top boards, per that link.
When you only count stock-specific boards in that list, I count Sarissa as being #27. I never looked at that before. Impressive!
(I could not find where boards are ranked just by membermarks, and I am not sure what the score represents (988?) in the above link.)
I am 4.5 years and confidently and patiently waiting. No worries mate. But, "a man's got to know his limitations."
I am also looking forward to your comments when the company announces a deal and the price goes up significantly from here.
Will be fun! ...
With apologies to web, great series of posts.
"absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" ... wow!
Also note today, Barclays and others busted to the tune of almost $500M for manipulating the LIBOR rate for years.
Guess I should thank you for that.
Misery?
More like a golden opportunity. Truly a unique and interesting set of circumstances, most likey the most high probability of rewarding investment prospect of my lifetime, 25X to 100X entirely possible ...
For opportunity like that, I can wait, however long it takes ...
That is a very decent objective summary about shorting here. It definitely happens, to what extent, we can’t know. So it is up to everyone to form an opinion. Some make a considerable effort to have an informed opinion, some not so much. I have mostly learned that many here actually have little interest in informing themselves. But regardless of the amount of or lack of research on the topic that one has done, many here have no problem expressing their opinion. So with a few exceptions, this topic looks like it is getting treated by kindergarteners, not graduates. Mildly amusing on the more boring days …
To establish the proper context, this topic is a distant sideshow. The main show is the rocks in the ground, the development to date, the prospects, the niobium market, the supply and demand, the improving fundamentals, etc. On top of that, yes, seasoned, capable, careful, confident management. So we are reaching the point where “any day now” becomes just “now.”
Fwiw, I will offer my opinion. I would say that there are 200M shares naked short, minimum. There is a good chance the number is more like 400M-500M or more. If it is only 50M or less, a number some would declare significant, and yes it is to some degree, I will admit that I was wrong. I think the short comes from a number of reasons. Most of it is likely a “legacy” short from prior to when Scott took this over. Much of that is likely “innocent” from MMs just targeting what they might of thought was another run of the mill junior exploration company. There has also likely been shorting that is not so innocent, from opposing interests in the global niobium market. And then there is likely some “maintenance” shorting, price suppression applied as the existing shorts feel necessary to contain it. So there you have it. As downsideup suggests, this is not scary, because the rocks are there, their value will win out, and Scott & company are getting it done. It is opportunity, pure and simple, to set yourself up for the day that this “accumulated future demand” becomes recognized.
So there you have it. Good luck to all!
Niobium in
Ontario -
WOW!
Great post, great analogy, but crap ... I guess I have to be careful about how I breathe air, so I don't get caught short!
Optimism, not pumping = excellent point. There are some here that would have a optimistically-based conversation, but there are too many others here that won't let that easily happen. That is one reason why I have mostly abandoned this forum. But the longs all get it at this point and are patient, even if there is legitimate disagreement on the details. Scott will get it done. Everything else is just noise. My relative absence in this forum is intended to support that perspective. But you all know that by now.
"No worries mate. Actually proceeding nicely." "Keep your chin up!"
any day now ...
jmo
Scott did not make a mistake.
A ihubber or the like made a mistake, either inadvertently, or intently, and Scott CORRECTED the mistake.
Besides, the effort served 95% of its gainful purpose already.

Scott WILL deliver, the only question is WHEN. It is a fools game any longer making timing predictions. But I would say this, the rhetoric lately is bigger and better than anything to date. And as for developments, well, if this board took a survey and came up with the top ten reasonably expected deliverables we would like to see, IMO they are working on ALL of them now. I am holding all of my shares, and steadily buying more ...
I guess if I took advice from this board today I should just sell 1M or 2M shares right here right now and wait for .075 to buy them back. Too funny!
sure, but of course ... any day now!
fwiw, its 4.0%, not 0.04%...
Yes, a couple of quotes, very recent, and a couple years old ...
Folks losing patience and selling, at or below bid, and then complaining that the price went down?! Too funny! Scott is getting it done. I am a buyer here ...
"No worries mate. Actually progressing nicely. Keep your chin up!"
No argument here ...
sounding like it ...
Nice article!
market malaise is a temporary thing ...
Scott will get 'er done ...
IMO, not going to be too much longer ...
IMO, they are knocking on the door ...
Maybe you should SPINOUT your left lung and your right lung and achieve maximum value?!
nice news, maybe the last hint ...
It may be a gamble as to the timing but not a gamble at all as to the eventual outcome, otherwise, I wouldn't be here.
Folks gambling next month's mortgage have overbought, but otherwise if your position is right-sized and if you have a little patience you will be amply rewarded. Scott is giving it to us straight. There are a lot of pieces that are all coming into alignment. It is all about the spinouts.
To echo another recent poster, YES, I am long and strong! YES, I am in the Millionshare Club!
simply excellent post ...
Thanks all for the .02's this week! I am feeling it ...
ANY DAY NOW!
glta ...
Also, they are interactive pdf files. Anyone that wants them can just ask Merle.
... and I should emphasize that this is considered preliminary ...
there was no word part, just the image ...
Here is evidence of the kind of progress they are making, courtesy of Merle: "Here are a couple of pdfs that give a visual idea of the kind of work coming out of the initial engineering work." Note: I don't think I can post a pdf (and Google docs won't work), so these are images I snagged into a jpg ...
They are getting the plant designed, totally awesome!
powerful post E!
" ... the optionors have been caught up in the general stock market and financing malaise ..."
The Chinese iron and steel industry is facing headwinds ... from yesterday's Fast Money:
http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000075332
Partial Transcript:
They [Chinese steel companies] have overcapacity with the steels and that's going to affect corporate earnings in 2012. you are talking about them and it's still sector facing head winds. how does that go for the u.s.-based steal companies. this is the dynamics. the steel industry in china is losing money. the costs are strong. the industry is slowing. they are not in good health. the u.s. companies have a better production discipline and capacity in the u.s. in a way, you look at the differences between the two sectors, the u.s. companies can stay resilient despite a downturn while the companies are going to suffer from the overcapacity which they built over the last years.
OAKVILLE, ON — Sarissa Resources Inc. ("Sarissa" or "the Company") (PINKSHEETS: SRSR) wishes to update shareholders on the option and financing agreement (the "Option") entered into in 2011 as well as other potential financing options.
Under the terms of the original Option, when exercised between CDN$5,500,000 and CDN$10,000,000 was to have been raised to conduct pre-feasibility metallurgical studies and scoping studies, designed to qualify as a Preliminary Assessment under NI 43-101, including geological modeling and further resource estimates of the mineral potential of the Company's subsidiary, Nio-Star Corp's wholly-owned Nemegosenda niobium property.
To date the optionor ("HKHE") has contributed a portion of the anticipated funding, and the first part of the metallurgical studies were contracted for and started in September, 2011. These are substantially completed now, and we are waiting for the report and for recommendations for the next phase. The geological modeling and further resource estimates, including further diamond drilling, have not yet been completed.
The team we have assembled, including HKHE, continues to work toward completion substantially along the lines of the original Option, although the timing has had to be extended due to the challenging market conditions. While the Company continues to work with HKHE toward an anticipated closing, we have also considered it prudent to evaluate other financing options, both in China and Hong Kong, as well as North America and Europe. During the period in which HKHE had an exclusive option, the Company was approached by other companies with financing proposals, and is now evaluating these potential financing opportunities and partners to determine the best fit to quickly move the project to the next phase.
Sarissa CEO, Scott Keevil commented, "The timing of the Option was such that we and the optionors have been caught up in the general stock market and financing malaise, resulting in some of the anticipated funding groups involved in the original consortium having to drop out of their planned commitments. While this has been frustrating for all of us, the fact remains that we are continuing to advance our interest in this major asset. As well as beginning the advanced metallurgical engineering studies, we have now completed all option payments under the various acquisition agreements on the Nemegosenda property and now hold complete title to all of the ground, subject only to normal royalties, land taxes on our patented holdings, and provincial work commitments on our mining claims.
"This puts us in a very strong position in evaluating the various financing options, as we have no major time sensitive commitments to make that could be used as leverage against us in negotiations.
"This has been a pretty trying period for all of us. I know I have been frustrated by the timing over the past six months and I know what is going on behind the scenes, so I can only imagine how frustrating it has been for shareholders who are not able to see all of the efforts taking place in the background."
Sarissa management continues to believe that a financing arrangement along the lines contemplated, and the proposed Spin-Out plan represent the best route forward in the development of the Nemegosenda property and in realizing maximum value for Sarissa shareholders.
Added this week. Like clockwork. Thanks to any sellers/capitulators who made it possible.
"Keep your chin up!"
how far along on the plant are they?
This is apparently my last post on this board, and to the best of my knowledge, on all of ihub. Thanks Max for originating a great board that has really grown in the past few years. Good luck to all of you seeking your fortunes in junior mining companies.
Why am I leaving? Apparently, imo I have been targeted. A number of my posts, among others, were suddenly deleted by admins on a board I frequent and of which I was a mod. Suddenly that puts me over some threshold and bingo I am removed as mod. No, the posts did not really violate terms, but they don’t have to answer to that. Several impartial posters have already agreed with me, these posts were really innocent, I have it all documented, and if you are really interested I can let you be the judge. Under these circumstances, and in light of this occurrence, I have no desire to participate in this forum any longer. Mods, you need to watch your backs, but I am not sure in the end there is anything you can do.
Have a great holiday and great success in 2012.
That's a 2% opinion, IMO, not the 98% that are content for the time being, the writing is on the wall, shareholders will be rewarded before long ...
There have been many excellent opportunities to make a few bucks on this stock, with the best yet to come. Are you doubting Keevil is returning value on our investments with all of the 2011 developments?
Where you been? There have been EXCELLENT developments in 2011 ...
We have "motivated" partners, they are already spending money, work is getting done behind the scenes, that is evident from what info they have put out, this contract is a mere "formality" in that context, it will get done, looking forward to every bit of 2012, no worries ...
