Zeev,
Congrats on calling for this rally. The Turnips aren't perfect but very good <ggg>.
Fletch
Zeev,
I'm into QLGC from AH now and looking at BRCD pre market. What possible swing trade upside do you see in BRCD to end of year? Some, like SNDK and GNSS are really catching fire now <g>. I just don't like all these gaps and that may warrent one more quick flush down.
Much Thanks,
Fletch
Nice cup......building the handle?????
Was INTC's report priced in? I think it's buy the dip, so I like RFMD at the 5.95 gap. JMVHO though. My market timing is terrible right now, so..........TIFWIW.....big GAPS below.
Fletch
Dollar still holding up but it's early yet.
and gold weakness.
Gold lease rates chart.
Gold lease rates chart,
Dollar chart, not strong but not dropping much either. It's just after 6AM now BTW.
and then gold below,
Fletch
Hi TrenchRat,
You should say hello to my buddy Zeev when you stop by here LOL. The bowls have formed and the bottom may be in for now. SSFT is a good one that moved up well but not as good as RFMD and IDTI. You made a nice trade on SPY and ELON BTW. FYI on semi picks, Zeev likes CYMI, KLAC and CCMP.
A bowl below,
Fletch
Thanks Zeev,
I can see why you aren't keen on new OB's. The market has not only dished out a second helping of Nassacre but we are getting into a Corebakle as well <ng>. Only POOL managed a few cents to the plus. MAXF and AGM are both sitting near sell points. The scary thing is when I look at a 10 year NAZ chart. It looks like we can get to 1000 before we have some support and that's from mid 1996!
Your Thoughts,
Fletch
Zeev my friend,
I'm about as nimble a trader as a D-8 dozer LOL. I'm just looking for a good low longer term swing entry.
Fletch
Zeev,
Do you have an OB on QLGC? My thoughts were around to just under 18, as that has been long term support on it. The rest of the Q look to have already broken long term support. Do you have new targets on any of them? I think I remember a no OB on ELX.
Much Thanks,
Fletch
PS A look at the buck tanking.
Hi Kevin,
Yes, I did have a discussion with Vesselin on this. He is much more bearish on the long term future then I but he does make some good points. I would most likely trade the fund though. Last September I had lots of RYVNX that I averaged in from $42. After 9/11, I started selling it and going long <vbg>. My plan here would be to average into the long fund, not a huge position, maybe just 10%. BTW, that RYVNX is now well above my last September sells LOL. Could have made money holding that one till now.....with much PAIN in between.
Fletch
>
Zeev and board,
What does anyone think about the Rydex double long NDX fund RYVYX? As you can see it was way up at 637.6 when naz was at 5000. Maybe Zeev can pick the exact bottom but not I. Dollar cost averaging into this longer term shouldn't be too painful from our currant level. What's the possible down side risk.....5 and adding in all the way. From 5 to 500 in the next ten years?
Thoughts,
Fletch
>
Zeev,
Is AGM in buying range here (bottom of the box)? BTW, I added some SKX and PII. SKX still falling though <ng>.
Thanks,
Fletch
Hi Zeev,
Could this be a successful double bottom test on the S&P 500?
Fletch
Zeev,
Do you have a low buy target for CCMP and IYTO, is it a good flying angel for the next cyclical bull? I surely need several of those "flying angels" ggg. My thoughts are that when the Q really break down, the floor can't be too far off.
Much thanks,
Fletch
Zeev,
Looks like TARO is liked by someone ggg.
Fletch
Zeev,
What are your thoughts on the retrace theory? I know you have the market getting valuations below historical levels in three bear legs, taking several more years to play out. I'd guess the retrace has this bear over in one brutal swoop but that it has a few more months to play out yet.
I also could guess that both could be right. We can have a seasonal year end rally from the base built lows in July through October and then continue the retrace to it's finally. The market can then still have a green up year after and from there, go on to play out your three bear leg scenario.
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
Fletch
Well, the book value isn't very dynamic. It's the value of the buildings and equipment....the stuff that makes up the company itself. It is different then the P/E, which is more dynamic and the price, even more dynamic and that can be all over the place. Granted that most book values are over stated in that when auctioneers come in, you might only get .10 on the dollar.
Usually, when you get down to a book value of one or under, you are buying a value play. I'm not saying the market can't go lower, just asking Zeev's wisdom here. The super high growth plays of yesterday are now value plays.
AIMVHO,
Fletch
Zeev,
I keep hearing how the market is still way over valued. Looking at the fundies on many, they are near or below book. Some of these have positive earnings and some don't. In your turnip opinion, isn't it rare historically to be able to buy solid good companies (ones that will survive) at or below book value? Ones I'm looking at include but aren't limited to ZRAN, BRCM, VTSS, GNSS, VECO and IRF. Is one of the above not going to make it IYTO?
BTW, can't IHUB Bob add Zeev to the spell checker, just so you don't always show up as a typo LOL?
Thanks,
Fletch
Hank,
FSTW doesn't look good at being able to hold up right now. They need a good news release as volume has been falling off of late. Stochastics are now bearish and I really don't want to hold it while testing and filling that old gap. I think it was the fact that the last earnings release was a little lower. I don't know where your in it at but I'm down around 15% on it now and it's approaching a stop loss level that I'm going to put on it at 7.50 or so. Besides, if the gap fills, I'll be able to buy a whole lot more at 4.70.
Fletch
A huge gap down on the dollar now.
Yes,
The buck is running and on a weekend? I really don't know who or how the dollar is traded but it does seem like either short covering or manipulation. This doesn't make much sense but then, the market usually doesn't LOL. Now let's see what the futures do.
Fletch
The dollar just wants to go up. Maybe a double top at 108.50 stops it here.
Fletch
Or on a longer view, 109 could be the top.
And a look at gold.
Hi again Quave,
Some further news on AKLM below. I hope some bought it at 2. It should gap up Monday morning but will most likely fill it eventually, like it did the last gap at 1.89. The gap should be at 2.29 for those interested. A good target on it would be at least a double by the end of the holiday season. BTW, even without the new Turok game, the company is very under priced right now.
Fletch
http://biz.yahoo.com/rf/020913/tech_acclaim_stocks_1.html
This one month chart shows the 1.89 gap that just filled.
I don't know if anyone noticed the buck running up today. Looks to have broken above the 108 resistance.
Fletch
Of course gold doesn't like the dollar moving north.
Read this post from Dave Gore on SI if you like or are thinking about AKLM. BTW, a good buy right now below 2 IMHO.

Zeev,
I saw that you bought TTIL, so....you must think it's a safe bet at these levels. I can understand shorts getting into over valued plays but not those with such good fundies as TTIL. Are you still into AGM from 25 and is it core material again?
Thanks,
Fletch
The dollar hit resistance at 108 and has turned down ever since.
Gold holding it's own.......will it run up or dump with the market?
The vix has stayed up there for a long time....... market putting in a good sound foundation?
Look at this nice chart.....no BULL yet.
Fletch
After all that the Nikkei 225 finishes at 9309.31or up +3.05 (+0.03%).
The lunch time tumble.
Interestingly, the dollar doing a little whipsaw action.....too early this morning. Futures up too....a gap&crap...like Japan?
Gold....Was this the local top? BTW, just how do you play this guessing game short term? I know......like Zeev LOL.
What am I doing up this early? Must have slept too fast again<ggg>!
Fletch
OK augie,
Lets try that Netscape again without that prefix junk. This time with another play going up of late.
Yup, you're right augie!
Thanks,
Fletch
Lets see if a copy image location from Netscape works like IE properties does.
http://chart.bigcharts.com/bc3/quickchart/chart.asp?symb=pool&compidx=aaaaa%3A0&ma=6&mav....
NOPE but it does supply a kind of stinky link LOL. So here is an IE copied chart. Nice double bottom on POOL off just under 24 huh?
Zeev,
Much thanks for your Turnip view of the future! There are many very smart people with opinions on what will happen and most want something for their views...............not Zeev. Most aren't as accurate either...............The best market board around.
Thanks again,
Fletch
PS The dollar still doing AOK for some reason. Let's see what Sunday night brings.
Zeev,
I know from following here that you aren't interested in owning RDRT right now. I'm fairly sure this is mostly due to dwindling sales and the cash burn rate. You do have to admit though, that it's been strong during this market tumble and it's being bought up. My question to you is, with your infinite TA wisdom, can you put an upside target on it? I'm still holding half from my OB buy at 1.89 BTW. This isn't much because I don't throw a lot at low priced stuff to begin with.
Much thanks,
Fletch
Hi Bob,
Good job.....I was on server #1 at work and went without a hitch.....very good. I'm on both servers now. On with Netscape ver 4.08 server #1 and IE #2.....both running with no problems at all.......and they are both.........VERY fast.
Thanks again,
Fletch
Great long term chart of the SOX Sir Realist. I'd say we are getting down to L O N G term support right here. I'm also thinking, like Zeev, that all the bad news is already priced in. BTW, Larry's HAL is sitting on support too and holding on......no sell signal yet.
Fletch
Lets see if this puppy shows up.
Yes, the buck is weak and so is my portfolio <ng>. Bouncing off of $105.5.
Fletch
Gold isn't real strong either though.
Bob,
I too had to log in again, like #2 didn't know me. Luckily I had my password written down. #2 even saved Zeev's board a little different because it didn't ask to overwrite it when saved to favorites. Who's server (brand name) did IHUB buy?
Thanks,
Fletch
PS Two of my favorites here (Max and Sylvester80) are in kind of a squabble. Please guys....stop it! Pissing contests aren't won by anyone usually. Your both RIGHT and cool......now please stop. Prove just how "rich" you BOTH are!
Hey Alex,
Likewise a lifetime member of SI......it didn't save me from getting them. Did you use the classic version?
Thanks,
Fletch
Thanks Allan,
I've tried the classic interface and I guess it's OK..... really looks kind of goofy though. I should try it again, especially if it stops the junky-UNwanted stuff. Funny that Max just posted how he locked up, even using the classic mode.
Fletch
Hi Max,
It's still terrible there on SI...the pop-ups that is. It's especially stupid for them to do the pop-up thing to the paid members <ng>. I like a few SI posters that haven't switched, so I still use SI almost every day. What a pain in the arse.
Fletch
LOL
Bob must be adding more fire power since Zeev and gang showed up in mass. Glad to see some of the money going into improvements here. I wonder what storage company (server) IHUB uses.......Bob?
I liked SI but the pop-ups where really getting out of hand. Even with a blocker you usually had to wait a few seconds for the page to open. Anyone still on dial up could have taken a nap <gg>. Like Zeev says the search engine sucked as well.
Fletch
Bob,
I'm logged into #2 server and it's working just fine.
Now for those interested in a dollar chart we have a gap down to look at.
Fletch
