This is the kind of projections that the sharks on Shark Tank hate. Anyone can say if we only get this much percentage of the market we will be huge. Let's say the predictions of 4K sets are on line that should enter into the end of this year and leading into 2015. By that time there will be much more competition and companies with much deeper pockets that can deliver a better streaming device and/or pay for the rights of good movies not Superfly.
Set the bar low to start.
Making money only because they say they are as they have unaudited financials even though at last year's SHM they PROMISED to have audited financials soon and one year later they're still making the same promise. Sort of like sending emails to people that theIr NP-1 would ship in 10 days then on day 10 say it won't.
I hope those that do attend the SHM will want tangible evidence of the NP-1 and an actual playing device working at 4K not 1080p. Also a real list of the films that have been upconverted. Do not accept words as actual evidence. I hope you're not like the sheep who attended last year. When JFoley was asked about about his experience last year everyone applauded when he said he has always had an interest in the internet and social media. What the... Is that the criteria for the CEO for NTEK? He was an Ice Sculpturer before assuming the CEO position. That's like making the guy who owns the landscaping company the CEO of a media company he cuts the grass for. I suspect the reason this stock is going down and the volume low is that people are finally opening their eyes to this scam. After all dilution of an average of 500,000 a day is crazy.
Everyone that NTEK talks to is a partner in people's eyes here. I guess I'm a partner with Amazon, Costco, and Walmart because I've bought from them. Anyway HHSE sadly is yet another scam pink using shell corporations do your research. Nothing good to be associated with them. Incidentally they just had their SHM so that doesn't make them legit either.
I wonder how the CEO feels when he meets other tech. company owners with their great education, sharp minds and long history of experience in their company's field of endeavor and the only thing he can say well I used to sculpt ice prior to becoming CEO and have no training or experience in technology. Someone on this board recently mentioned his loads of connections. How's that from meeting executives at party functions with his Ice Sculptures?
Your argument has merit, but how many criminals have gotten off by admitting to significantly less than the truth as part of their legal team's plea bargain.
You don't honestly believe that DF gave a false confession do you?
Realize like with virtually all plea bargains the individual admits to guilt of a lessor charge. The reality or truth is, if you will, that the real actions were far worse and numerous than what is finally admitted to.
I have several bluray players and each of them have numerous apps including netflix. I rarely if ever buy discs unless for my kids 'frozen' for example. I get most of my discs through netflixs. There isn't any provider of quality top name movies that stream 4K of yet so I do not need a streamer. YouTube has some 4K material that you can stream to your 4K set provided you have a computer that can do so.
I love getting the latest tech which is why I had a 4K so much earlier than anyone. I'm just mentioning the reality of actually benefiting from the upgrade. That being said I'll probably be an early adopter of 8K when that comes around. I've seen it and it is incredible almost 3D quality of picture. I was actually going to jump on the OLED as well but I hear they have a burn in issues like plasma so I'll hold off until the tweek it better.
Seiki = Yugo How's that for an analogy. Now LG and Vizio are coming out with 4K sets that have impressive credentials.
Where did I say you need to be 12 feet away? I'm just stating at 12 feet which is the normal viewing distance many people assume in their home with their systems you cannot tell the difference. If you arrange the room so that you are sitting much closer say 4 to 5 feet you will appreciate the difference. Period.
Do you even have a 4K set? I was one of the first in the country to own one and have played hundreds of dvds and numerous 4K material on it for close to a year now. Just going to BB and staring at one at full pop and not even calibrated and you're an expert. And of course you're not standing 12 feet away. I was at BB last week and was sitting in the theatre room killing time as my wife shopped at another store. They had my set Sony's 65" in front of me and it looked good but behind me as I turned to check my son was another 4K set and the detail was superb but then again it was less than 4 feet from my eyes and at that distance the reality of 4K is clearly evident.
Really!!? Here's an idea why don't you go to the AV Forum and randomly pick a forum from a group that has a 4K set be it Sony, Samsung etc. and ask them if they can tell the difference between 4K source material or the same on a good Blu-ray at 12 feet see what they say. It will burst your bubble I'm afraid.
How about these NTEK facts:
Original NTEK CEO admitted felon and will be going to prison soon.
New CEO just his brother
New CEO previous work experience Ice Sculpturer in fact NTEK bought his ice sculpturing business
NTEK renting space from a Foley for 5 figures a month.
Numerous promise dates of delivery of NP-1 all not met.
People waiting since buying last June ---> nothing
Supposed thousands have it, yet no one anywhere in the world admits to owning one.
Numerous relatives of CEO given millions of shares, one over 25 million while still fully employed at another company.
On a 55" or 65" 4K set if you're seated 12 or more feet away you will not be able to tell the difference between true 4K material or the same playing off of a good Blu-ray.
Since I've had a Sony 4K set for close to a year now I can tell you there are currently over 300 apps to choose from not including their 4K server which has quite a number of films and shorts to choose as well. I can't even remember the last time I watched a 4K film. The set up-converts content to '4K' quite well but it is of course not true 4K. As I mentioned here in the past you cannot tell the difference between 4K and a good bluray from a 65" set at 12 feet or more period. I do not see the huge demand for 4K material currently. If you look on the forums most people hardly use the 4K server and watch movies etc. for the above reason. Now if you sit around 4 or 5 feet away you will notice the finer detail but who does that? For those that have large screens with a 4k projector then there will be greater demand but on smaller screens once you have it for awhile you will realize no added benefit and not pay additional money.
Wow!! Who's his cellmate going to be Kevin Trudeau?
You are correct. I suspect the SHM will just be loaded with promises and talk about all their connections but there will be nothing actually tangible out if it all. No NP-1, no list of titles of the movies they've supposively converted to 4K. As for the financials, they need to have audited reports not something insiders drummed up in the back room. Of course they promised audited reports SOON at last year's meeting but like so many promises this hasn't come to fruition. They will probably say the same this year as well - coming shortly.
Pure had potential for some time now but management lacks the same thus I do not expect much irregardless of news. I think others agree as the stock is down.
And Chopard, L'Oreal, HP, these are advertisers. I could be on the poster if I paid advertising fees so what does that mean? As usual nonsense evidence to support nonsense NTEK. I bet at the stockholder's meeting they'll have nothing tangible but more promises.
I've had this stock for several years already. Originally heard about it at a physician meeting by a colleague. At the time it seemed like a potential star performer because of it's antibiotic coverage and safety profile. Unfortunately it has failed miserably year after year. It's not the product but a failing of management in my opinion so therefore I do not think this is a viable investment anymore. No use beating a dead horse. You win some you lose some. Beta was much better than VHS but failed because of poor management and consequential marketing. That being said the DVD blew away them both in picture quality and ease of use. Time to move on.
The NP-H1 has been out since last year. Not too many of them bought. But if the mysterious NP-1 with it's obsolete K4 comes out millions are going to buy it. Just one spin after the next here at NTEK. Oh yeah they 're profitable (wink) but continues to print millions and millions of shares.
The problem is that everyone knows the SEC is a joke. Listen they couldn't even catch Madoff when they were informed 8 years before his Ponzi imploded. Not a single day goes by without rampant insider trading and other shenanigans on WS only rarely do you hear of some big cat being caught. The pinks are rife with similar lies and cheats hundreds upon hundreds or not more. It's a virtual breeding ground for scammers.
It's a perfect example of how greed clouds one's mind. The original founder David Foley and CEO will be going to jail shortly after admitting to three several counts of fraud. He then hires his brother to replace him as CEO his only experience is an interest in the internet and social networking and his previous job was as an Ice Sculpturer. No kidding. Several other family members gets millions of shares one over 25 million while still fully employed at an electric company. Numerous dates when device is promised to be delivered only to have a 'delay'. Just this month it was promised in emails to people who had purchased the device as far back as June of last year that it would ship in 7 to 10 days only to have on day TEN be told that it will not and they are giving it an update in the program. The cheerleaders continue to spin every bad news event into something positive or a non-event. Last weekend when it was suggested that the main board of the device was in fact the same as another company's device there was first denial but when undeniable proof given the next spin was that everyone copies from each other. There are so many other red flags any one red flag should steer one away from a pink especially since these stocks are rife with fraudsters but the cheerleaders continue to regurgitate PR form the company as if it is gospel yet no one in the world has ever gotten a NP-1 or even streamed a film from the supposed 24/7 machines upconverting to 4K. Last month there was supposed to be big news coming from Amazon but when nothing but their own set top device and no mention of the fabled np-1 the cheerleaders quickly forgot that and moved on to their next spin.
Of course they're pushing their 4K sets but if you look and read what experts say you will learn the truth. I was one of the first people in this country to have Sony's 4K set almost a year now with hundred of blu-rays viewing so I have more experience than most regarding 4K viewing. I love my set but the detail is only appreciated from a distance of 4 to 5 feet. Further back looks great but no better than good blu-Ray. I 'be watched the sam movie through Sony's 4K stream and on blu -Ray and you cannot tell the difference. Anyone telling you otherwise is clueless. Not at ten feet or especially at 13 feet which is common with a 65'.
How much will it cost to stream these movies. Most people aren't going yo pay big bucks to watch these films. As I said before at normal seated position 10 plus feet you cannot tell the difference between 4 k and good bluray on a 65" screen.
Second generation player coming out within the next month or so from Sony.
T4 board already obsolete as K1 is four times faster . Too bad if this company was for real which it's not DF will be in jail so he will not be able to construct new device for better streaming.
Yeah, they'll be much lower.
I got this stock ticker in a private message from someone I've never heard from before. This is always a worrying sign. That being said we all know that pinks are rife with frauds and scams. One easy way to pick a scam is when a company switches gears completely and becomes a different company unrelated to it's previous business venture. So here we have just that two completely different business models unrelated to each other. Now as a business owner myself I ask myself where do I go for a business loan. Do I go to a company that out of nowhere started loaning to the industry whereas it's previous business went bankrupt or do I go to the bank where I've been doing business for years and knows me. Now I might go somewhere else if I can get a better loan albeit a much lower rate but I'm still going to want to know about the viability of that company. Now if this company is going to offer lower rates to get customers or those that other banks denied you got to wonder about is it worth the added risk of loaning to people others wouldn't. I think I'll pass I think I smell a rat here. That being said many on these boards could care less about the company and are just waiting for people to careless buy into it and raise the price say from 0.001 to 0.009 and they sell and they think they got a home run and move on. I on the other hand don't enjoy screwing other people over and look for a true home runaway diamond in the rough so to speak. This is not it.
Reading the posts over the last few days first you have denial of the copying of the MoJo board then when irrefutable proof is given the new spin is everyone does this. No matter what evidence there is alway a drive to spin a new tale. Horse blinders will not change the fact that this is a scam.
I completely agree with you that the mastered in 4K videos are 1080p that actually was established last year on the AV boards. I'm talking about 4K through the X1 player compared to the mastered in 4K which I own as well.
Is this quote from last years board meeting 5/2013? Where they said it would be done soon but here we are almost a year later and they're still implementing it.
Maybe this will enlighten you but who knows:
http://carltonbale.com/does-4k-resolution-matter/
The same DD you've done with NTEK I imagine.
Sorry you're wrong. Don't copy an ad from Sony think it's gospel. You will definitely see a difference on large screens 100" plus but with smaller screens you have to sit closer. Do the research at on AV forums or on the good HDTV mags and they will clearly state that. By the way I have the Spider-Man movie on both blu-ray and 4K and you cannot see any difference sitting 13 feet away from the 65" screen. When you go closer around 4 to 5 feet you can appreciate the finer detail. Normal human eyes cannot differentiate between the two at regular viewing distances.
The latest spin for NTEK. First denial then when the proof is too glaring state everyone does it. Everyone uses the same guts as the ipad but puts a different case on it. Sounds about right to me.
Just because you get a PR that something is going to be huge doesn't mean a thing. I have a 4K set and have access to 4K films already through the Sony X1 but frankly only bought 1 film in the last year. Most people don't purchase 4K films after they've had their set for awhile. This is because in practice you will essentially not notice a difference between a good Blu-ray and 4K at normal viewing distance. This is a fact that is not reported too much except in the HiFi mags. and on the AV forums. To really appreciate the difference you have to sit much closer to your set and most people's homes cannot have such a set-up nor want to sit so close. My guess is that a few years back they thought that 3D was going to be huge as well. That didn't pan out.
