Sure looked that way. Kept adding at .4499 and .45 late today. seems like everything had a meltdown late.
Take Care.
Hello MF4, I can't remember seeing so many 100 shares trades in cortex as this morning when i was able to watch it a little. I counted 30 straight trades like that at 10:00 to 10:01 am, with two 200 share trades mixed in. All Sells, pushed the bid from .52 to .49.
Call me crazy, but I just added more at .47.
Take Care.
OT- Aiming4, are you still in snus??? Nice pop today. CC tonight.
Hello Surf, Just got back. In buying SNUS this morning at .461, not much, balance still open, but it has popped pretty good today going into the call. Did you stick with it?
Thanks again.
I agree, I love at least one of them is in there buying. Instructive indeed.
huh? eom
Do you mean the code "P" means market order? If so, where is the table showing what the codes mean? I missed it.
Take Care.
hello gfp, i missed where it said they were market orders, unless that is what code "P" stands for. it was likely right there in front of me, but i just assumed they were both limit orders. a 40,000 share market order, without moving the ask seems difficult, even on heavy days.
i had to move my small partially filled limit order from this morning from .49 to .50 to finish getting it filled just after 3:30.
it is good to see management buying. i am thinking he was in trying to get a much larger qty at .48, and since it was today's low, he likely just got 100 shares someone sold transferred over to his buy order. If he is paying a minimum commission in the open market, then those 100 shares cost a lot more then .48 after commission....
take Care.
Hello Patco, Are you kidding?
10% Really?
I think you underestimate their determination to move forward, and their ability in the past to raise cash, which they don't need right now.
I wonder what investors were thinking of cor in past years, when their price hit lows near .281, .375???
They had a .60 and a .61 yearly low in '02 and '03, respectively as well.
It must have been ugly
I added a little at .49 this morning, with the order still open, might be to late to complete it today....
I am heading out for the day, so have a great weekend, and enjoy those cars!
Take Care.
Hello food4thought,
--I am just having a hard time jumping on your wagon.--
Good Lord, Please Don't! I am not asking you too. I have no wagon to be jumped on. I just like Cortex, and i think it is undervalued right now.
Seriously food4thought, please don't take this the wrong way, but speculative investing might not be for you. It is gut twisting to be in a speculative stock when the tides are against you. Or next time around maybe allocate a smaller % for speculative stocks.
---I am looking still for answers in hopes to analyze a projection, that is all.--
There are no crystal balls. We all just have to pick our spots.
---For all our sakes I hope you are right...---
I am wrong often, I took a real loss today in a stock that I thought was going to go up as it moved to the nasdaq. It has a great story, but I sold at a loss of 700 some odd dollars in a week or two. It went straight up after I sold it, then finished lower. (bpa, bought at 5.75 not long ago, sold at 5.03 today) I also bought 600 shares of a stock this morning pre market on news, and sold for a nickel/share loss in the first minutes, it also finished lower.
Once again, I just like Cortex's 12 consecutive year history of coming back, nicely imo, within 12 months after hitting a calendar year low.
They might not do it this time. They have done it the last straight 12 years. Those are not my opinions, those are facts I got from a google chart and posted here. If they don't do it this year, well then they will still have a 92% success rate of doing it over 13 years. I don't find many like that, and I sure hope they can do it again.
Obviously I am having trouble finding the low this year, and thought we were there at least a couple times before this. I am willing to average down some from here if it continues dropping.
I could lose all my money. I don't think I will.
Late here, Take Care....
Hello Neuroinv, THAT MADE MY DAY.
Thanks once again for your time, hard work, and willingness to share this information, for FREE, to those of us in need at this time.
Cortex's price makes no sense to me at all, and I have been adding, slowly, at these levels.
Thanks again.
Hello gfp, Agreed on the financing. Funny how 20-20 hindsight is always correct, but it sure didn't seem to make much sense at the time
I haven't kept up with shares outstanding vs the lows over the years, but of course the less shares out the better.
To me Cortex has always been the poster child of an emotionally valued stock. It is the promise of what cor might do that has driven its price in past, imo. I don't see any reason that changes much today.
Maybe a little less so now with instant information, but still, when everyone is thinking that it can do no wrong, i get nervous.
And of course the flip side, when everyone is negative on it, as is the case these days, I see that as often overdone on the downside, and I get pretty bullish.
I am getting closer to being right about where I want to be with Cor for now, unless it keeps dropping. I sold off a ton, for me, on conference call day, starting at .78 and downward, most in the mid 70's. I just don't see much different today, then the day of the conference call, except the shares are on a clearance sale. Likely be a long haul, but they can't short it enough for me to stop buying if it gets ridiculous. (on no news, and all things being equal to today at least.)
Take Care.
Well, another lesson learned, wait for some volume on that kind of news, in this kind of environment. At least this lesson didn't cost much. I hit the sell button, trying to get out pre-market at 1.00, at it was at the stroke of 9:30, price fell to. 95, so I got out there.....
Maybe cheapest lesson this year
Take Care.
Hello jerrydylan, I agree, and I picked up a few thousand more this morning at .50, (three fills 1500, 400, 1100.) If it goes like yesterday it will likely be on the higher side of the day Cor has always seemed to have their back up against the wall, no money, need financing, not enough in pipeline, not right management, you name it.
This time around they are in the best shape i can remember, by far, heck i think they were at this price when they had nothing but a bunch of mice running around and no ampakines in the pipeline, plus they have 20 million cash this time.
Anyway, I appreciate your posts and the ta perspectives....
Take Care.
It has been rough out there, no question about it!
The pre-market bid for gnta right now is a buck, up a nickel, so maybe the news will help it out today. I only got the last 600 remaining for a buck on the ask, and didn't chase any at the 1.03 level.....i am sitting on a good bit of cash as well, but have been building some, mainly in snus, about 40k shares now.
Take Care....
Hello Surf, Are you still thinking of adding near this 1 dollar area, or sitting on the sidelines until the overall market looks a little better.
GNTA has had a little pre-market pop. (i picked up a little this morning)
Thanks again.
Hello Finn, If it does go there anytime soon, I will likely be buying during the day......
OT- They opened another "Liberty" near 62nd ave north within the last year or so. I used to head down your way to Calf. Dreaming, and now we have them here, but none as nice as Charleston.....What a view. "Liberty" used to have a night where they donated part of their profits to the animal shelter, so if you go on one of those nights, you just might be helping keep a future Cor customer around in case they need some medicine, and Cor has made it to the Vet shelf by then
Take Care.
Hello jddiv, please no following, i only have 3 people bookmarking me, and one of them is me! i would love to see cor cure alzheimer's, or contribute in a significant way. But while on that road, it would be nice to make some money at the same time....
I only have funds in cor that I can lose, and I think of my whole trading account like they are chips, not real money. (it is very much real money, but I don't think of this account that way, or I try not too.) Obviously I would rather make money, (chips,) rather than lose money, (chips.)
Cor is speculative, most brokers won't let you short it because they think it is to speculative and they might not be able to recoup the position, even if they covered it for you without your permission, (you would have signed that permission away when you opened the account.)
I have a fondness for cortex going back to my collage days, and I have had fun trading it over the years. I have had to hold it many months before because I got in to early, this may be one of those times, but I think it is going higher, but that is just mo. I would rather not lock up these funds more than a year, but I could if I had to.
OT- yes, near myrtle beach......
Thanks Bigs.., I posted the full press releases.
Surf, I figured the delisting letter would be factored in, giving them 6 months, and I view the layoffs as positive for them to conserve their considerable cash....
It did drop, with a ton of others this afternoon, and I was wondering what you thought of the 2 announcements....
I am not on the right computer to see if there is an active aftermarket or not....
Thanks for any insights....
Sonus laying off 25 percent of staff
Wednesday November 7, 5:44 pm ET
http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/071107/1547280.html?.v=1
Sonus Pharmaceuticals Inc. said it's laying off 16 people, or 25 percent of its work force, later this month.
The Bothell biotech also said it's received a warning from the NASDAQ stock exchange, warning that the biotech's shares are in danger of being delisted from the exchange for trading at less than the minimum $1 price.
Shares in Sonus (NASDAQ: SNUS - News) haven't traded above $1 since the Bothell biotech woes began in September, when it announced that its breast cancer drug Tocosol Paclitaxel failed a key pivotal trial. On Sept. 24, shares in Sonus plunged nearly 84 percent, falling from $4.35 to 70 cents.
On Nov. 7, shares in Sonus closed at 48 cents.
The failed drug trial spurred the layoffs, Sonus officials said in a Nov. 7 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
"These steps were taken in order to conserve cash and preserve the critical capabilities necessary to pursue the highest priority development programs," the officials said.

Hello alex123, that is 2 posts in a row that mentioned loading up near .30, and you can add me to that list.
Thanks for the smile about hawking the body part, I don't think I'll be going THAT FAR, but I likely I would lose all perspective to per stock % diversification in my trading account...
With all those that see themselves buying, it might be enough for those that are shorting in here to head to the exits, and then old cor might just make a run.....as they try to cover...
Hello asuhowe, good call on the .50 or lower today. Ouch.
As far as your 401k money....without knowing what other assets you have, or your age, (how many more years you expect to get that 1k/month,) we know you have a ton in cor. i might be sticking that 1k/month into a world fund, something that the managers are not allowed to invest more than say, 40% usa, and 15% in any other country, at one time, and that gives them the flexibility to move chunks between countries pretty easily. just a thought....
the economies of the world keep getting more intertwined, so if I was looking for growth I might try that approach for a few years....jmho
I personally like vanguard, they have different levels of service depending on how much you have with them. If you use a full service broker, then the american funds are great, imo they have good downside protection in the american funds, or used too, compared to peer fund groups, but often they didn't have the same upside umph either, at least they didn't when I used to track them years ago....again, jmho.....
Take Care, and REALLY, please consider diversifying, and think 1.99 Sorry for the gut wrenching day...
I guess those of us that are long can only hope that a bunch of today's activity was shorting, because the good thing about shorts, is, once they have to cover, then the price often shoots up very very quickly.
Hello Alex123, I missed most of the day, but I will looking to buy more at these levels, slowly adding.
Take care.
Thanks gfp, i knew you had posted recently about those small 100 share orders. usually if i get a full fill really fast that is just below the bid side, then i know that the price is dropping, often fast, and that I am too early.
It's those smaller fills that keep me guessing, but because it was filled so fast, I should have seen it coming down further. I have been building a position in another stock recently and that one often takes 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to fill when I am trying to buy at the bid side, but my last 20k shares or so have filled just that way.
I just got back to the house and it looks like i missed some great buying opportunities, imho
Oh well, that is why i like to dollar cost average.....in this case down....ugg for the day.
Take Care.
Lots of Volume for this early as people bail out. A ton of sells at 10:40 at .55. Funny I don't see anything that changed from yesterday, except that the shares just went on sale.
Anyway, done for the day as we head out.
Hope so. eom
Hummm, Put in an order to buy 2000 shares at .56 and it takes 11 fills of 100 shares, 1 fill of 400 shares, and 1 fill of 500 shares to complete the order????? 11 fills of 100 shares, who sells like that? Hummm.
WOW, The sky is falling this morning, not a minute or so after I posted that last one, there were sells of some 22,000 shares total at .56, and now since starting this, you can buy for .56, hummm, maybe I am not done for the day
Hello John, Actually Cor does rise very quickly sometimes, as well as fall quickly sometimes.
Feb. 21 2007 Closed at 1.15
Feb. 22 2007 Closed at 1.64
Gain was approx 43% in one day, just 8 months ago.
For the record, I bought some a few minutes ago at .58, after trying 4 times to get some under that number. Not much, but I am willing to build a new position over time at these prices. Maybe it will drift lower and I can pick up more in the days ahead.
Take Care.
John, You are absolutely correct. We all have to pick our spots.
Take Care.
Hello John, I just sent you a private msg that was a reprint of msg 11084. Cor hit a 2007 yearly low this morning.
In the last 12 years, they have have come back nicely from a yearly low, within the next 12 months, each and every year. That is what I sent you.
One could argue that they won't do it this time, or that we are not at the year low yet, with 7 weeks remaining in the year. (where did the time go?) I think the odds are great for cor to do it again, likely not short term, (imo,) but who knows?
Yesterday I saw myself most likely holding from here, and then when I saw cor go lower this morning I couldn't resist, knowing what I know about their ability to come back 12 years in a row from a yearly low.
Buying at lows, or watching a stock you own tumble is gut twisting, no mistake about it.
It's not a loss or a gain until you sell.
Take Care.
Hello Asuhowe,
Today's new 2007 low at .55 throws out case that cor already had it's bounce like it has has the past 12 years, off yearly low, within the next 12 months. So in effect, the clock resets today, with the new yearly low, as we are still in 2007.
Let's hope for 13 straight!
Take Care.
-- They have smartly borrowed a ton of cash, but all that borrowing comes with a price tag that I believe commands an even lower stock price that what we saw today at .55. --
Hello John, Actually Cor has no debt, as reported at yesterdays conference, they raised cash recently. But you do make a lot of good points. I will likely be buying on dips, as I tried to do this morning.
There are a number of things that could move cor quickly, but a sideways, slightly downward, even slightly upward trend, would be my best guess.
Today's .55 was just someone not smart enough to enter a limit order and the mm cleared out 2 market orders in the first seconds. (imho)
Take Care.

Encysive Pharmaceuticals Announces Presentation of Sitaxsentan Data in Eisenmenger Syndrome At AHA Meeting
Monday November 5, 5:00 pm ET
HOUSTON, Nov. 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Encysive Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NasdaqGM:ENCY - News) today announced that open label observational data from Columbia University suggests that sitaxsentan (THELIN), a selective endothelin A receptor antagonist, may improve symptoms associated with Eisenmenger syndrome (ES). The analyses were presented today at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2007 meeting in Orlando.
A retrospective chart review was performed on 14 consecutive ES patients (10 females, 4 males; age 27 +/- 11 years) initiating open label sitaxsentan therapy (100 mg tablets daily) at Columbia University between 2002 and 2006. Baseline data were compared to short- and long-term follow-up data at 12 weeks and at approximately one year. There was a significant decrease in the pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) to systemic vascular resistance (SVR) ratio, consistent with pulmonary selectivity in these patients. The improvements in PVR index and six-minute walk distance were not significant. During the one-year follow-up, these ES patients had no significant change in resting systemic arterial oxygen saturation.
``These results suggest that treatment with sitaxsentan is safe and efficacious in patients with Eisenmenger syndrome,'' commented Dr. Robyn J. Barst, Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Director, New York Presbyterian Hospital Pulmonary Hypertension Center.
About Eisenmenger Syndrome
Eisenmenger syndrome is a progressive cardiovascular condition that can develop in individuals who have un-repaired congenital heart defects. ES is initially associated with increased pulmonary blood pressure that, if the congenital heart defect(s) is not repaired, results in reversal of the shunt from left to right to right to left with progressive pulmonary vascular disease and progressive cyanosis. ES is linked to multi-organ damage and premature death. There is currently no cure for ES once it is established.

Just hit 10 on the low. Do you think much lower?
Thanks again.
Yikes, Opened at 9:30:
.55 6200
.60 100
.55 100
.62 15000
Somebody sold with a market order, dropping the 52 week low to .55. It wouldn't let me buy at .57.....
No trades since the 9:30 open in first seconds, now 9:33.
Could be interesting morning to get some cheap.

(thanks to aiming4 for finding this site for us from the cor board!)
Hello surf, we just read a similar press release for SNUS, that they had hired a firm to give them options on the best way forward, and that they would not comment on any further unless they had something concrete to say.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=23906626
I was wondering if you had any recent experience with companies that had issued similar press releases, and the effect on share price going forward.
I haven't owned any cyto for a while, i sold for a penny or two loss weeks ago, and was looking to get back in at some point. the nasdaq de-listing letter can't be good news for longs.....but it could have already been factored into the price....
thanks again for keeping these boards going.....
