Thanks for the heads up surf, been gone all day, just got back in time to grab some. haven't checked out vnda yet.
Well, if they keep this up, it might not be long. I started a small 5k position this afternoon, at .4725.
Last time I saw that kind of action it pushed cor's price down pretty good.
Take Care.
Hello Surf, I was wondering if you had been following SNUS still?
There has been, maybe hundreds of fills, 95+% of them 100 share sells in the last 10 or so minutes, all at .47.
just keeps going........
Take Care.
Not me, been gone all day today, just got back and saw it had dropped, along with a lot of other bios I track. I likely would have added at that .50 if I could have gotten any. I did sell a little at .60 and .59 since the last call, but just to lighten up the portfolio weighting.
The stock has seemed weak to me over the last several days, often trading lower most of the day, only to recover in the last few minutes on little volume.
Hoping this is just a shake out. I really do think Cor management sees brighter days ahead, and I think it will be higher within 12 months, jmo.

Dr. Stoll Buys another 10,000 shares today.
http://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/849636.htm
I wondered why I didn't see this trade on ihub quotes. I saw it go by live at 16:00, 10,000 shares in 2 fills, and immediately wondered if it was Dr. Stoll, as his last 10,000 shares were just like that. I little above the current ask, which in this case was .64, at 4pm. Exactly like his last purchase, a penny above the ask, right at the close, for 10,000 shares. The .65 price does show up on yahoo quotes.
Nice to see management in there.
Take Care.
Great Pre-Market Bounce right now, +.10.
Once again, I sell too early, but this might just be dead cat, and they don't all get that. I could see this one in the .40's, needing money.
Nice call once again surf.
Take Care.
I was in it for the fun, and I cleared about 610 after commis. Not bad for 30 minutes work.
I usually don't day trade larger amounts like today, unless there is huge volumes. Last time I did it was SNUS. I'll take about any profit on a short term day trade, and try to protect my principle.
It did come back nice, congrats.....
Take care.
Ouch, that would have been painful. Already sold those for .75. Done on this one for the day.
Take Care.
I got nervous this morning and sold at 1.03, bought those at 1.01.
Just bought more at .7231, and .72.

Out of the Gate: Panacos Plummets

Panacos Pharmaceuticals Shares Plummet on Disappointing Dosing Data of HIV Drug Bevirimat
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/071211/panacos_out_of_the_gate.html?.v=1
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Panacos Pharmaceuticals Inc. plunged to an all-time low Tuesday after investors were disappointed with results from the company's latest trial of its HIV drug candidate bevirimat.
In one cohort of the study, nine patients were given 350 milligrams of the drug once a day for two weeks. However, analysts said patients did not improve significantly, with some showing little response to the drug.
Shares sank $1.09, or 52.2 percent, to $1 in morning trading, and set a low of 96 cents per share. The stock had traded between $1.48 and $6.42 in the last year.
Cowen and Co. analyst Eric Schmidt, who downgraded the stock to "Neutral" from "Outperform," said the data show that a 350-milligram dose of the drug was less effective on average than a 300-milligram dose. He said that raises questions about which patients will respond to the drug.
Stifel Nicolaus and Co. analyst Edward Nash downgraded the stock to "Hold" from "Buy" on the news, and removed his $8 price target. He cut his sales estimate for the drug, saying fewer doctors will prescribe bevirimat due to the weak data.
"In most clinical trials as we progress into later stage development, we observe more clarity," he said. "With the Bevirimat trials it seems things are becoming less certain and more cloudy with each additional data point."
Hello Surf, Do you think HEPH is starting to get interesting at these levels? Last time around, I think you waited until it was a little lower, but a lot of these are running for sure right now, just not this one, yet.
Thanks again.
Regular shorting is supposed to require the shorter to "borrow" the shares from, usually the broker. Naked shorting is when the shares are not actually "borrowed" because the broker does not have enough in house to lend out, yet they still allow the stock to be shorted, arguably never intending to actually let the shorter "borrow" them. Quick answer, others may do a better job.
Thanks Surf, I'll check it out.

Idiot of the year award.
A little off topic, but earlier this year, I put in an order to sell some of my IDMI for 4.62 a share.
My software autofills the sell field with the last trade price, which was something like 4.6299.
I was running out of the house for something, and put in the order at the 4.6299 price.
Only problem was that the routing I used for the order only accepted 2 digits, and the order was immediately rejected.
I didn't see it, left for the day, price dropped all day, and now I still hold idmi.
I sure felt like Idiot of the year that day
Hello Surf, I am still holding some of this from early this year in an IRA.
Aiming brought up a good point, and I feel like I should know the answer, but don't.
Is there a site that we can go to that posts, or has info on, naked short sales in a stock? I don't know if it is possible to track naked shorting from regular short sales.
Take Care.
Thanks surf, me too. I call it dollar cost averaging over a short time frame. I just finished buying cor last week, after two solid weeks of buying every day, all in the 40's, with a couple .50 evens in there, to get into six figures with that one. Willing to hold some of that one for a while if needed.
Take Care.
Thanks surf, I picked up 15k shares this morning in gnta to start a position. Three 5k orders, first two held bid/ask steady, then right after third, they bumped a penny. Still some slack in there.
OT- Did you buy any memy on that 1 million share insider purchase post you put up the other day? I started a position there as well.
Take Care.
Hello Surf, thanks on the crgn.... I was wondering what you thought of gnta in here. you were 1/3 in, i think, the last time we talked about it.
Take Care.
Hello surf, Any current thoughts on crgn? It nears the dollar level once again.

Neuro, Dr. Stoll spent some time talking about the "PreBotzinger Complex."
I was wondering if this was new to their research in RD, or if Ampa's have had a good deal of study in this area before? (competitors/potential suitors?)
Thanks if you can help.
Dr. Stoll did a good job imo.
these are just notes so far

That would be nice! eom
I am almost afraid to look! Now you even sound like my brother
Take Care. (and thanks for your hard work, even when we don't see it
That would be a new 52 week low. I hope it bounces right back off that low! I think I will stick to my dollar cost averaging for now, but I couldn't believe how it was dropping this morning on small bids. I am showing 2.49 for the daily high, that's a pretty good swing on low volume.
Dew just wrote about IDX899 data due by year end, but without heavy selling, I wouldn't think this low volume drift was related, as far as investors expecting bad news.
Take Care.
Thanks keitern, I don't think I have ever heard that saying before, and statistically, my life is at least half over
Take Care.
Thanks Dewdiligence, You have a mind for this stuff that is quite impressive, to say the least.
Serious question... I am curious if you have photographic, or "near photographic" memory?
I have a brother that I would describe as "near photographic," and I am constantly amazed as to what he will come with next
Thanks again.
Their last conference call said that AFTER Jan 1, they would have enough cash until 3rd quater 2009. 88/share. Now over 1 dollar a share in cash. I think people are just buying for the cash, realizing value.
Thanks Surf, I just dipped my toes in a bit, but it touched its 52 week low today on no news that I can find.
Take Care.
IS there any reason I shouldn't be buying in here, like a material event coming up? I have been beginning a position this morning at 2.31, after watching it drop all morning on very little volume.
I have tried to keep up with all the info on this board, and there is a ton, thank you, but just thought I would ask in case I missed something. It looks like a steal in here....
Thanks for any help anyone might provide.
hello freto, was it the week ended today, or the week coming up?
this thing has run pretty well this week, and i am curious if you think it will pop further.
take care.
Hello Jddiv, There does seem to be stronger support in here since the insider buying. Larger bid sizes, rather than just dropping the bid every few hundred shares like it was doing in there for a while.
None of my buy orders went through Monday, or Tues, a little below the bid, and those had been getting snatched up on a regular basis for weeks.
I have been able to add 30k shares since Wed, including 12 this morning, nothing above .50 yet in weeks, but those days may be ending. At least judging by the arguably recent, relative, "strength."
It could just be no one wanting to sell before the conference, but who knows?
Take Care,
OT, Aiming4, have you seen the additional 23% pop in SNUS today? I think i pm'ed you about a pre market pop of 15% yesterday. (lower than cor just days ago.)
Now we can head out with a great laugh, thanks for that
Take Care.
Well not too sure about that..... nice not to have work anymore..... But you are correct, it wasn't from watching pennies, maybe dollars though
I think they were just trying to catch a wave of excitement off the pr....., but who knows....
Take care.
Oh Well, gone once again. Has me curious though, have daily order in, will check back once more before we head out.....
Since I started this post, the 104,000 showed up at .49 again. I guess they are just moving it around, trying to get some action......
Playing all kinds of games this morning. Now that bid size is 104,000 shares at .50, ASE. But no one is trading yet, still only 22.7k shares.
Very bullish if real.......
Of course as soon as I post that last one, the 101,500 bid size disappeared........it was there 30-45 minutes.
--raises my Cor antenna--
Mine too.... There has been a 101,500 share bid size at .49 on my Level II screen all morning. Biggest I have ever seen, like it is being supported there, letting us sell all we wanted at that price, maybe expecting it go higher later, when they could resell those shares at higher prices.
Now it could disappear just as fast as it got there, but if for real, I take that as very bullish with the low prices of late, but with only 22k traded today so far, i don't know if it is for real yet.....
Also, neither of my buy orders the last two days executed. I had them a little below the bid, as I have had all my buy orders the last couple weeks, but on those, the price had swooped down, even for a minute or two, to scoop up at least part of my order. (most small, 3 to 5k a day, sometimes many a day.)
Take Care.

Cortex Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Cortex, located in Irvine, California, is a neuroscience company focused on novel drug therapies for neurological and psychiatric disorders. Cortex is pioneering a class of proprietary pharmaceuticals called AMPAKINE compounds, which act to increase the strength of signals at connections between brain cells. The loss of these connections is thought to be responsible for memory and behavior problems in Alzheimer’s disease. Many psychiatric diseases, including schizophrenia, occur as a result of imbalances in the brain’s neurotransmitter system. These imbalances may be improved by using the AMPAKINE technology. Cortex has an alliance with N.V. Organon for the treatment of schizophrenia and depression. In December 2006 Cortex terminated the research collaboration with Servier enabling Cortex to pursue the use of AMPAKINE compounds in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases on a global basis. Servier retained the right to select up to three compounds developed during the collaboration for further development for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Cortex may receive additional milestones and royalties if either Organon or Servier is successful in developing and commercializing AMPAKINE compounds. Hello Aiming4, No idea on what rabbit they may pull, but I don't see the extra insider buying unless there is something, and the tone of Dr. Stoll's voice seemed positive to me going forward. I thought it was genuine. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of promising compounds to add to the pipe.....pure speculation.
Take Care,
ps, i think you made a good move on the idix, i still hold a bunch of snus, just used today to lighten up some of those low priced ones i had......
