The point on language is plausible.
As for "the stock is doing fine." I just have to try to remain skeptical.
I appreciate your uplifting talk, if it's meaningful. But when one goes back through the history of this board one finds nothing but optimism from you. Now that might be justified. But it's cause for concern to an investigative mind.
Of course, you may just be (no doubt are) further along in the investigative process. But for someone coming in, your refrain sounds not unlike the verve of the Evolutionists. I.e. At one point one is just dying to ask them "Look, you say you hold this view on the basis of evidence, then tell me what WOULD qualify as disconfirmation of your view. Because until you can offer something along those lines, it's foolish to say you hold this belief on an evidential basis." That is, I'm not yet convinced that there is a state of affairs that you'd not spin in a positive direction.
It might be rational. It might be hopeful. It might be cognitive dissonance and self-deception.
It's all very difficult.
Personally, I'm a sucker for your spin. I want it all to be the way you say. But I'm also mindful that I am a sucker.
But I would also admit that I should not rush to judgment on SP's ability to pitch his product. He may be working 70 hour weeks for all I know.
I just would have appreciated some more enthusiasm, if in fact this is a thing to be enthusiastic about.
A!, I don't - as you seem to be doing - assume that the savvy and the charisma are mutually exclusive.
I didn't say I'd prefer the latter to the former. I said I'd like a CEO with the latter.
I'd be more confident as an investor, and I'd be more confident as a customer. People will follow those with conviction. Conviction has to be shown.
SP certainly isn't the most charismatic fellow in the world. One wonders if one wants someone who cannot muster charisma at the helm of an operation that needs to be SOLD to folks (customers and potential shareholders alike).
Common sense.
And you were told this before/during/after the CC?
Did we miss something?
Were you told in private communication?
Can you tell us specifically (and you cannot be too specific) what you were told?
Char,
Please tell us your source for saying there will be a PR today. "You were told" by whom?
Thank you.
"But what I mean by "shareholder value" refers not to the PPS, but rather the subjective/psychological construct that these folks have foisted upon themselves in the face of an obviously impotent and unresponsive stock price."
In that sense, "shareholder value" has indeed increased.
See it's true!
Little uptick here.
Folks are reading their news feeds over lunch, perhaps acting accordingly?
I have to keep remembering that some folks actually work.
Yup that was my thought too... for what it's worth.
I.e. Didn't we hear at some point that LNET still has two more years with Marriott?
Just speculating (literally).
But sounds plausible.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!
+.009
WHOOPS!!!
Hey thank you my friend!
Not aware of any answer to that question.
I'm confused. Does "VERT is at .077" mean that VERT won't sell unless that's the price?
If so, I then I'm even more confused, because I thought that the worry was that VERT was "supressing" the price. Rather, that sounds like it would increase demand and drive up the price.
Help.
Please help the handicapped here. I don't know how to interpret that spread, nor how any of you are interpreting it here.
Good thing? Bad thing?
Just some basic help please.
Can some of you L2 folks update us on pre-market activity so that we may get a better idea of what to expect at the bell?
Am I right in thinking that one can place orders before the Bell? If not, disregard the previous request.
This pissing contest is SO exciting. Let's keep it going in order to distract from substantial posts.
I'll now make my contribution:
I WAS IN BEFORE (insert someone iHub user's name who purchased TIVU after me).
Go!
Whoops, sorry Nath. Wrong person.
Char... you heard from WHO that there would be a PR within the day?
Nath,
You were told that by Steve? Your dog? Who?!
Is this common knowledge? I thought we were "hoping" for a PR (and leaving hopeful messages on Steve's voice mail, of course.)
Maybe one (or some) of you veterans have some advice on my next move.
Although maybe my situation is common and there isn't much to say beyond the following description.
I want to pick up my final round of shares today, and if things start jumping, then I want to get them right at .051 in case we don't see that for the rest of the day.
But if there is no pop (e.g. suppose there is no PR), then it seems like I'm best to wait a few hours and look for some serious dip like yesterday.
The trick seems to be how long one should wait after opening bell to determine which scenario is playing out.
Yesterday juked me out. That small, initial pop at the bell (in the AM) made me think "here we go." And we all know what happened after that. So had a bought at the bell (and some of my friends did), I would have been kicking myself by noon (and they were).
BTW -
Good morning everyone. =)
I see no press release.
And I would by now, wouldn't I? Business day is almost underway here.
(Sigh)
Again, if there is a PR, they've got to be sufficiently sensitive to the psychological effect that folks' expectation of hearing the word "contract" today is going to have on their ability to listen when they don't hear it.
Because, again, I for one did not appreciate how huge the news was until a bit after the announcement, hence my question about the seemingly, fairly committal nature of a install for test-run purposes (if indeed these test runs do involve full installs... which was something I'm still not quite clear on).
I think they really need to make clear in this hypothetical PR what the upshot of this agreement with Host is.
Personally, I'm some sort of Aristotelian medium between Benjo and A1. I'm hopeful but skeptical. But I CANNOT see how this is not HUGE news.
I'm tempted to buy right at open to head off a gap up. But what if we get a weird dip like yesterday?
Decisions decisions.
A-1,
You seem to have an ongoing dialogue with Steve. You should therefore be inquiring with him about a PR for this news/CC.
Perhaps you've already done so, and even mentioned it. I might have missed it.
But it just seems to me that what was said in the CC today requires a bit of explication before its value can be appreciated. I know that a lot of folks initially thought it was hot air and non-substantial.
But it is NOT. And Tivus/Steve need to get on the horn/PR and commmunicate that to potential investors.
This is huge, but they're going to miss the opportunity by assuming that all is understood if they don't come out with an informative PR.
Press him!
Nic.
But why would you need "L2" to know the bid/ask? Those are available in simple quotes. I'm confused.
Can you guys help me understand the importance/relevance of the spread between bid and ask? I keep seeing posts of the "## x ##" variety, but I'm new to all this, and I do not fully understand what you are taking from this piece of info.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Also, what is "EOD".
And what is "selling into a run"?
Unfortunately, I don't have the funds (yet) either... as the (granola) girl at the bank this morning managed to screw up my wire tansfer despite my asking her several times over if she knew what she was doing and if it would for sure go out at 9am.
Incompetence... and now I get screwed.
Wait, Hom, can you explain what you mean? It would be helpful if you could give some reasoned explanation instead of just tossing bombs out there like that.
Are you saying that we will gap down in the morning UNLESS the news today is of a certain calibur?
I'm wanting to pick up more shares, and .042 seems nice... but if there is going to be a gap down, well then...
THANKS DMC!
(sorry, no private message access just yet)
DMC can you please explain what that means and why it's important to say? Some of us are not as literate as the pros here.
THANKS!
Oh I didn't assume that's actually "her." Might just be a guy with a picture he likes on his profile.
OKAY STAY ON TOPIC!! LOL
I think I'm actually just going to skip watching the market today and stare at that picture on your profile instead.
Good Morning Everyone,
Here's hoping for a slow and stagnant morning!!
Think I'm joking? No way. I hope we get a few hours to buy some more shares here.
Well I'm off to bed.
Really looking forward to tomorrow morning. And really hoping for a dip/downturn before we kick into gear. I have just one more buying round left in me. A dip would be wonderful... but it just seems unlikely.
Exciting times ladies and gentlemen.
Don't let the money change ya...
... unless you're already a jerk, then by all means, do. =)
Perhaps it's "Vestal Group," as mentioned here in this article, which I assume assuages the concern.

Benjo,
Not a problem, but I wouldn't take too much about my financial skills from my academic work. I'm new to investing myself. I was researching a different sort of investment strategy when I came across TIVUS, and it just seemed that I had better pay attention. So I started reading up, and started listening to some of the very knowledgeable folks on this board, and here I am.
I've never had a chance to be a part of something like this, and I don't want to miss my opportunity. And the risks seem reasonable to me. This company appears to have so much going for it that I can't justify not partaking.
So I'm long baby!
And I'm countin' the minutes until tomorrow morning.
Might be a late night with video games or something... not sure I'll be able to sleep.
Hey Benjo,
To your worry that the contract in question might be the Double Tree, I would say two things:
1) At least in the case of the quote from Prakash that I have in mind, it was definitely AFTER Double Tree. He was mentioning things in the works in addition to that (already known) deal.
2) There is a sense in which "Double-Tree Contract" is an ambiguous term. Because the contract that we all have in mind was for ONE Double-Tree Hotel. Obviously, there are LOTS more such hotels. Thus a new contract could pertain to one, several, or the whole chain!
I am a philosophy professor of sorts. I'm a PhD student, and do teach undergrad classes.
Actually, truth-be-told, I just recently decided that two MA's is enough, and that I'll be leaving the program.
Been studying philosophy for seven years, and I'm ready to make some money now. =P
I do not Bejo, sorry. I would dig it up here, but I am in the middle of a stack of papers I have to have graded by tomorrow morning.
I will try to remember where I saw the quote.
Had to be in one of the articles that I've read recently (which are not all new).

I'm pretty sure that someone else on here will be able to produce the quote in question. If someone hasn't done so by tomorrow I'll give it a go.
But it might not be necessary by then! =)
Hey a (Cornelius) VanTillian!
Nice to have you bro!
-Nic
I've had some of these same worries about LNET's potential adaptability as well.
But even supposing that the Marriott contract is not on the horizon (even if at all), it does not seem to follow that TIVU is not positioned for great things right now
After all, in the first place, DoubleTree is a "Hilton" brand. Potential domino effect there, of course.
Second, and relatedly, Prakash has already explicitly said that there are firm contracts waiting to be announced.
Senorita,
You sound as if you take yourself to pointing out some sort of inconsistency on their part. But I do not find it to be such. Just as many as you claim would probably admit to the power of the temptation the porn offers. So what if they too succumb to it? There is nothing inconsistent about that fact (if it is a fact), on the one hand, and the fact that they want to support businesses that make it easier for them to obey God, on the other hand.
No one claimed porn is going way. But that does not relieve anyone of the obligation to NOT promote sin.
Benjo,
Can you give an explanation for your claim regarding Marriott's dealings with LNET for the next two years? What did you mean by that? Are they contractually bound or something?
Thanks.
