Tim..what I did was when I decided to go with
Freetrade, I didn't waste no time..I had already pre-registered with FreeTrade some days before..i.e. already had an assigned account number..it just hadn't been funded yet.
I called my credit union first on a Friday morning as I had some questions regarding wire transfers...(I've never made a 'wire transfer' in my life..didn't know what all that involved, how much it cost, or anything)..told them by phone what I wanted to do and they said come on in, bring the wire address, they could do everything from there. So I just promptly went down to my credit union, took the necessary info, and in less than 5~10 minutes, money was sent to Freetrade..cost was $15..my account was funded and ready to go the very next Monday. Some days after that, I e-mailed an inquiry to about transfering over my Ameritrade+ account..I wanted to keep everything under one roof for ease in tax preparation..that's when they told me about their "internal transfer" form. Was no problem.
BTW, as far as my local office Scottrade account goes, I'm tempted to just cash it out..but may keep it for awhile just as a back-up, that way I can call in a 'hot' buy from my work if I see something really, really interesting on my internet phone.

GMornin Tim..yup yet?..
already been up an hour..checking out some stuff..

Let the hunt begin!
What about those TFCT apples?..
Up near 50% yesterday.

MW..see TFCT yesterday?..up near 50%..
one of mine..

:)
dd
MW..FreeTrade great if you virtually never need
a 'real' broker..internal transfers are easy..
print out internal transfer form from their site, print, sign, fax it to them. Moved my Ameritrade Plus account over there.
They told me FreeTrade used to have to be funded with $25K to get started..they alluded the $5k thing was kind of like a trial..so I hurried up and joined. They said if account should fall below $5k that's not problem either. I talked extensively with them via e-mail before wiring the intial bucks. All in all..LUV IT.
I can make as little as a quick $50~$100 here and there and not have to give up to $40 of it to Scottrade. Pocket ALL the money. Trading much more than I used to, too. All those little 'hits' and sometimes a GREAT hit are really adding up.

Cap..re:OTC POS..well, I had 3 Nasdaq brand names
a year or two ago, ORCL,PALM,SPLS and took a ass whooping on all three of them..now those were a POS!..LOL..and I thought I was 'playing it safe'. since then we've had the Enron scandal, Martha Stuart, Merrill Lynch, etc..so I don't trust any of them to tell you the truth. Heck..might as well play the OTC's..besides..you won't never see WMT go up 50% in one day. A person has to be extra careful with any of them, IMO.
Well, gotta hit the sack..4:30AM comes early..working tomorrow..
make a killing..
dave
Cap..with a chart like CHC one can just about assume the stock/company is doing all the right things. I'm getting to a point I don't even read PR's and filings much anymore. The chart says a whole lot, regardless of what anybody thinks.
Regarding the 007..yeah, I had some years, 5 $$$$$ by my handle and 6k posts on RB as ddfridd..(my old AOL sign on name) (what that is is a contraction of
david and debbie Friddell)..got booted for some reason..might of had to many aliases or something..anyways, so signed back up as ddfridd and threw the 007 on the end of it..LOL..
Oh..one I've made a mental note of over the last few years has been TSCO..they gotta be doing something right..don't know if they pay dividends..but it may be worth checking out in your case..

OT:MW..have got 3 IRS tax refund checks back lately..
for tax years 99,00,01 so far..lost my butt when I was first started learning..
Know one thing..sure as heck beats the over $7k they projected I owed in '01 just by itself..guess I'll start paying attention to those little letters that come from brokers at the end of every year.
LOL..
Got my Dad's tax man to do my stuff..(Dad's retired and has a couple of rental houses)..not HR Block..he charged only $125..took him about 4 hours and a pot of coffee at my Dad's house when he came out to get thru all those trades and stuff..I dam near feel guilty all the work he did for the price..may have to send him a 'tip'.
I'm going to use him all the time from now on..
and keeping better records now.
Getting those checks sure has been a relief..
Staying out of jail is a bigger relief!..LOL..

about 3 weeks ago when markets look to tank, I swapped over to 50% in bonds, 50% in MassMutual's 5% 'guaranteed' fund..now with bonds tanking it seems, and markets maybe to go back
up(?),I set up just today to go back to 50% guranteed fund and 50% back into PRNHX. going to try to watch closely next few weeks.
Note:where I work we are limited to 12 fund choices on our 401k which is thru Mass. Mutual..also our contributed dollars are matched with 50¢ by the company up to 6% of our gross..we employees have a pin # and can go on internet and change/swap our 401k selections daily (if we wanted too)..most at work don't even know what a pin number is probably..hell, I stay on top of my stuff!..
From what our HR lady tells me, I'm the only one making extra good money too..LOL..now she asks me weekly what I'm in to.
dave
Bought 3 thru out the day..
only 10K each..
TFCT at .065
HYTT at .043

TFCT>21st Century's Innovative Weaponry Increases Market Penetration
Thursday October 2, 8:12 am ET
New Customers and Reorders Lead the Way
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2003--Arland D. Dunn, President and CEO of 21st Century Technologies, Inc.'s (OTCBB:TFCT - News), commenting on sales progress of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Innovative Weaponry, Inc. (IWI), announced that progress is being made in increasing IWI's market share of in the low-light and no-light gun sight business. "PT Night Sights (IWI's brand of low and no light gun sights) are finding new customers all over the country. This is excellent news, because the way to increase the low light and no light gun sight business is to increase market share. And the way to measure that is look a new customer orders, as well as reorders from existing customers. Both things are happening for IWI, as well our Miniature Machine Corporation's MMC adjustable sights."
Mr. Dunn stated that recent orders from such diverse law enforcement agencies as the Killeen, Texas PD, Goshen City, New York PD, Florida A&M PD, Prairie du Chein, Wisconsin PD, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, the California Department of Insurance, and the Hillsborough, California PD demonstrate increased interest in PT Night Sights. In addition to the department purchases, individual officers of the U. S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs Service, U.S. Marshall's Service, U.S. DEA and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have chosen PT Night Sights for dependable use on their service weapons.
Pleased law enforcement officers have communicated their approval of PT Night Sights to the Company. Officer Nelson T. Corteway of the Hillsborough, California PD says that he is very happy with his PT Night Sights, and is especially pleased with the customer service offered by IWI. Justin Wareham of the Silt, Colorado PD likes his PT Night Sights so much that he has made plans to buy IWI's adjustable shotgun sighs for his Remington 870 Wingmaster.
"The nature of the market demands that we increase our share of it. That it what we are doing," advised Mr. Dunn. "Our gun sight products are first class and our pricing is extremely competitive. Add in good customer service, and it's an unbeatable formula for success."
IWI manufactures night and low light gun sights which utilize a isotope of hydrogen, tritium, encased in sight inserts lined with phosphorus, which glows, presenting a bright and clear sight picture, even in the most difficult low light conditions. They are widely used in law enforcement and are finding a "civilian" market.
Also in DNAP at .055..chart/bollies suggest breaking out, IMO.
Also in HYTT at .043..in from 6¢ to 8¢ a few weeks back..went back for second round today.
all I know for now..
Have a good week-end all.

Tim..I just recently got FreeTrade..LUV IT LUV IT LUV IT!..
Best thing I've done in awhile. I don't have alot of money to play with like some of you big hitters and every little bit counts. I did some ciphering and on 144 trades since April with Scottrade I had chunked out over $1500 in fees. To hell with that!..Scottrade promotes their $7 internet market order trades but when you buy OTC's and limit orders like I do alot of the time your looking at $12.95..add another $5 if you call live broker.
Of course FreeTrade is not for a person who often uses a 'live' broker..Freetrade is internet ONLY..but from what I've experienced so far, it seems that executions are faster, & they'll e-mail you in minutes of trade confirmations..of course if you're on line you can see the execution even quicker.
IN MY CASE, also, say I jump on a bad OTC and in minutes I decide to bail...for say a $40 loss..I don't need SCOTTRADES fees of near $40+ total, adding salt to the wound.
Get FreeTrade..I reco it very highly.
dave
PS..was only a few minutes trouble to go down to my credit union and they wired them 5K for a charge of $15..I did that on a Friday morning and my account was good to go the next Monday.

Space Systems/Loral Selected By DIRECTV to Build Two Flexible, High-Power Satellites
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Space Systems/Loral
(SS/L), a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications (OTC Bulletin Board:
LRLSQ), announced today that DIRECTV, Inc., El Segundo, Calif., has issued
SS/L authorizations to proceed (ATPs) with the design and construction of two
satellites: DIRECTV 8 and DIRECTV 9S. Aggregate revenue for the construction
of the two satellites will be in excess of $220 million.
"DIRECTV's award represents Loral's second and third orders for commercial
satellite construction this year and a total of 14 for the industry -- a
positive indicator of a resurgence in satellite manufacturing sales," said
Bernard L. Schwartz, chairman and chief executive officer of Loral Space &
Communications. "For Loral, the orders are a significant step forward in the
execution of our business plan under the reorganization process. As satellite
operators resume their normal procurement patterns, we believe SS/L will
benefit as the preferred provider of the most advanced and most reliable
commercial communications satellites available anywhere. We are most
appreciative of DIRECTV's confidence in SS/L's ability to provide
state-of-the-art satellites for its mission critical applications."
The ATPs have been submitted for approval by the Bankruptcy Court.
DIRECTV 8, to be delivered in the late first quarter of 2005, will provide
national coverage from the 101 degrees West longitude orbital slot, DIRECTV's
primary orbital slot. The satellite will also be able to operate from
DIRECTV's orbital slots at 110 and 119 degrees West longitude. The satellite
will carry 16 high-power transponders for high-quality national digital video
services.
DIRECTV 9S, scheduled for delivery in the late second quarter of 2005, is
designed to operate from orbital locations at 101 degrees West longitude or
119 degrees West longitude. As a back-up for DIRECTV's 4S and 7S satellites,
it will be capable of providing up to 54 transponders for high-quality local
and national digital video service broadcast into 27 beams. In an alternate
configuration, the satellite will be capable of providing up to 44
transponders broadcast into 30 beams.
"We selected SS/L to design and manufacture these two advanced satellites
because it was best able to meet our schedule and technical requirements,"
said Jim Butterworth, senior vice president, Communications Systems, DIRECTV,
Inc. "These spacecraft will provide DIRECTV with additional capacity and back-
up capabilities as we continue to build out our network to provide additional
services to our customers that will include more local channel markets and
high-definition programming. We're confident in SS/L's ability to deliver in
accordance with our agreed upon specifications."
With the completion of DIRECTV 8 and DIRECTV 9S, Loral will have
manufactured five -- more than half -- of the satellites in DIRECTV's fleet.
SS/L is currently building DIRECTV 7S, a high-power, spot-beam satellite
scheduled for launch in mid to late first quarter of 2004.
DIRECTV 8 and DIRECTV 9S are based on SS/L's space-proven 1300 satellite
platform, which has an excellent record of reliable operation. The
geostationary 1300 has a designed service life of 15 years and maintains
station-keeping and orbital stability by using bipropellant propulsion and
momentum management systems. A system of high efficiency solar arrays and
lightweight batteries provides uninterrupted electrical power. In all, SS/L
satellites have amassed more than 1000 years of on-orbit service.
DIRECTV is the nation's leading digital multichannel television service
provider with more than 11.8 million customers. DIRECTV and the Cyclone Design

somebody, for days, I bet, probably knew of PR coming out today..so they bought in prior..high, unusual volume on no news is the tip-off..wouldn't doubt PPHM has PR today..it went up 15% yesterday on no news that I could find.
