You cannot declare a longterm downtrend line on a daily chart lol
I disagree, I think a 2 year chart is more than adequate...and who declared a "longterm downtrend" - I made two observations 1) the stock broke the longterm ascending support line and 2) the stock has validated a descending resistance line when it failed to get even close to its 2 year high...
CONNECT ALL BOTTOMS OR TOPS NO SKIPPING ALLOWED
is that in the rule book? if you were to connect every bottom and every top it wouldnt be a trendline, it would be a trend squiggle or some kind of price band that for the most part is subject to the chaotic nature of any market...a trend line is a subjective observation on the "general" nature and direction of a particular stock, index, future etc. etc. To connect every bottom and every top as a "rule" is not only wrong its impossible to accomplish and substantially more confusing and counterproductive.
A trendline is a line used to represent the general direction and parameters of a chart pattern...When I drew the descending resistance line connecting the 2 year of high @ 39.00 to the second 'highest' price point I made 2 decisions: 1) A bear pattern is forming because this high broke the preceding high around 37 but failed to break the 2 year high after a very strong rally from sub 20.00 2) To use the previous resistance points around 37 would be foolish as this resistance line was invalidated when the price broke the short term descending resistance line being formed, in early June, yet failed to hold it and later pulled back and broke through the LONG TERM ASCENDING SUPPORT...
Like I said, trendlines are subjective and not subject to someone's stringent rules...I beleive the QQQ is a short until it breaks the descending resistance line I've drawn...If you disagree thats great, go long and we'll see where we're at in 6 months - lol
QQQ: seems to be forming a new downward trend, will watch and wait for a break of the new descending resistance line or break of 32.35 to confirm the down channel...
some volume would be nice...
looks like an interesting bottom play here...
NITE: new HOD
8th time NITE hit a new HOD today!
volume and rally into the close...
NITE: new HOD, lol
took some profits on NITE @ 9.09 - holding about 70% of my initial position
QQQ: break of 35 !
NITE: new HOD againnnn.
volume picking up as well...
a good day for longs...
NITE: new HOD, stock is very strong and chart is looking very nice: higher highs and higher lows...
NITE: new HOD and climbing...
here we go...slow and steady
IIP: new HOD @ .62
NITE: hit 9.00, see how it closes...
NITE: new HOD, come on 9.00 !!
NITE: about to break HOD again...
Wish I had a view of shorted stock it would be like having the H bomb in a g knife fight
maybe I should try and get a job with the DTC...
they are very easy to manipulate with just a little money
yup, my point exactly, sometimes L2 just blows my mind - lol
what do you think is happening? I mean, from watching L2...
IIP: L2 very interesting, looks like they want to keep it under .61 for as long as possible...
IIP getting ready, looks good volume is coming in nicely
MMs are being real nice with NITE - takes 20k shares to go up 3 cents, buying slows, and then they play who can post the lowest bid...
there it is - NITE new HOD, now lets see if it can get over 9.00
watching NITE L2: I wish I could see Level 3 !!
we may break the HOD here...
NAZ moving higher + me short the QQQ = one unhappy camper
stop/loss in @ 34.90
NITE: slightly above entry point still looking strong, would like to see it break 9.00 today...

I feel Gann angles are one of the fundamentals to a good "trend", for instance:
