uhu. Here's another question. Why doesn't Stock "prophet" report back in April?
"I don't think this is going to .50 or $5.00 in a week or two like some here believe."
Who has said this? I must have missed it. Facts are based on actual statements, Stock Prophet.
You can't read anyone's mind. So unless anyone has said this, you have no basis to impute the belief to anyone.
For those interested in how deception works, this is called the "straw man" argument. If you can't argue against your opponent on the merits, you impute to him or her preposterous beliefs that are easily ridiculed.
rofl....up is down, down is up, it just depends where I've put *my* money. Really, now, Stock Prophet, what do you take the rest of us for?
we found out last week how explosive this can be, patience is the key here, patience!
Absolutely, Fivestar. Some of us have patiently watched this baby all the way to the bottom. One thing that this board could do is to provide some strategizing. Rather than thinking of selling, anyone who bought at the recent highs might want to consider the option of averaging down. Exactly when or how to do that will depend on one's personal evaluation of the present dynamics. Medium term, this is not going down....There's just way to much potential. Don't make the mistake of selling low just because you bought "high."
Correct.
What number of those "reworked patents" are held by publicly traded companies?
Good question. It would be nice to know more about this entire process. Kitty, please feel invited to elaborate on this and any other details that may be useful to us, whether they tend in your view to support SOLM's chances of success or otherwise.
The more we drill down into the facts, the better informed we will be.
For instance, Stock Prophet's crystal ball tells him that lawsuits against Toyota take "years" -- which is true.
Solm filed suit on Septemeber 12, 2005. That's three years and counting.
My question to you is: What number of those "reworked patents" are held by publicly traded companies?
Good question.
Nice post Kitty, thanks for the details.
Sorry, anyone who knows anything about how knowledge is constructed knows that facts are *never* just facts.
They always belong to larger constructs of belief, sometime refered to as theories.
What is conspicuous about you is that you don't seem to have a theory, hence it is logical that you will depend on supposedly self evident "facts" and cling to the notion that your interpretations of those facts is the only plausible one. When you do this, you may think you come across as authoritative, but actually you just come across as dogmatic.
Nice try, though.
Over and out.
Ben
SP, like the Rock Man said, "you see what you want to see, and you hear what you want to hear."
Your post concluded, "It may never get settled."
I doubt it.
Might it take a long time?
It might.
Is SOLM therefore a bad investment at .012?
If you are saying it is, I disagree, and whether I proved "your point" or not, is no argument to the contrary.
Some of us are here for the long term, because we are considering *all* the factors relevant to SOLM's future success, and not arguing with liberal use of non-sequiters like "it may never get settled."
If you don't like SOLM, don't buy it. If you already own but don't like it, sell it. I'll buy yours. But don't come complaining afterwards.
Agreed, very nice post, Fivexshot. We look forward to your future analysis as the case proceeds.
Which ones are you talking about?
http://ww.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20070203/news_1dd3signtoyo.html
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. has quietly settled a class-action lawsuit that covers about 3.5 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles that may have been damaged by engine oil sludge.
Or this one?
http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/05/12/toyota-loses-hybrid-patent-appeal-case/
Toyota finally seems to be out of options now that the U.S. Supreme Court has allowed a lower court's ruling to stand which will award Paice LLC roughly $4.3 million in an hybrid technology lawsuit. That amount works out to $25 for every vehicle that Toyota has sold which uses the Hybrid Synergy Drive.
Or maybe this one?
http://www.dieselnet.com/news/2003/03epa.php
The U.S. Department of Justice and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a settlement of the government’s lawsuit against Toyota Motor Corporation for Clean Air Act violations involving 2.2 million vehicles manufactured between 1996 and 1998.
Geeze, I wish I knew. I tried to get lawfighter, who is a lawyer and SOLM investor who has followed the case closely for a few years, to join the boaard, but as I only know him tenuously from online association, I've not succeeded.
If we can optomistically assume that the worst delays come during pretrial motions, which is the phase we are currently in, then your timeline seems plausible to me. But that is the best I could say with any conviction.
We need an expert to help guide us on this score. Also, once we have the 4th quarter report, well have a better idea of what the true cash situation is.
I get the feeling that there are a lot of people who are determined to see this through who are helping SOLM in various ways.
It could be stronger....

Hi Kitty,
Nice to see you using your powers of anlysis to explore both possible negatives and positives. I am not happy about the dilution, either, but I agree with your conclusion that even with it, there are many many reasons to be optomistic about SOLM's near and long term prospects.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Ben
Great. Thanks. I get it. Third wave here we come. Looks like a doozy, too.... :)
Hi 1764128 ---
You're absolutely right. To me the most important factors in the potential success of this technology, are:
1) Cost
2) Offsetting factors like Tax credits
Item #2 is a big deal here, and from that perspective, we're really "in the groove." A $2-4000 tax credit could make an installation that otherwise might be iffy based solely on free market cost-benefit analysis, the hit of the decade. And its a good use of tax policy to put those dollars into domestic technology and jobs, not foreign oil. Given that off-the-shelf hybrids are getting a $3500 tax credit, extending that to conversions seems like a no-brainer, especially with some leadership from the White House.
3) The effectiveness of SOLM's business model and its partnerships.
4) The price of oil
Bound to go up again, with a vengeance.....The only reason its not at $3-4 U.S. (where it is cheaper than almost anywhere else in the developed world) is that we are in a world recession. We should easily see $5-10 in our lifetimes.
5) Competing technologies??? How useful is the electric wheel in a plug-in hybrid? I don't know. Even if its mainly useful for hybrids, plugins are still in their infancy and we have many years of hybrids ahead of us.
Of these factors, the cost of installation is probably the most important. Hopefully more information on this will be forthcoming soon.
Up-Down,
For those of us who only know Elliott Wave theory from the name, can you elaborate on what that theory might be suggesting about our present circumstance?
For beginners like me, you can start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliott_wave_principle
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
Ben

To all SOLM followers here, don't let this retrace discourage you, just keep your eyes on the long term goal and stay confident knowing that we are investing in an AMAZING company.
Well said, Camronmon.
Halleluiah.
hahahaha. I can't wait to revisit your post in three months.
IMO .012 is the new .008.
I think you will be correct.
Your reply begs the question. There was no pump. There was an announcement of a potentially revolutionary patent. We have already seen a rational retracement. Oniro is "spot on" as they say in London; only if the market is deaf dumb and blind, will this retrace to .008 or anything like it. Stranger things have happened, but if you are waiting for this to invest, one can only say, again, "good luck."
Well put.
Good luck.
So far today my low bids can't get in. But if you want to wait for .008, I hope you make it. Others have said they will wait till .005. Or maybe until the apocalypse....:)
As Fivestar commented -- I paraphrase -- given yesterday's volume its hard to imagine that most of those shares acquired under .008 that wanted to be sold at current levels, have not been. The world is full of surprises, but that seems like a conclusion that is difficult to avoid. Most likely we are stable or up today, or, if down, only very slightly.
Good morning, Fivestar. That's a great example of the new PR SOLM is starting to get...right on cue as some of us were starting to worry that SOLM was keeping its candle under a bushel. No more! The word is spreading....
Hi Kate,
Welcome to you (and to all the other new board marks who have signed on this week!).
I'm sorry that I can't make a prediction about today's action. I have orders set to fill at or around .012. Many on this board, like myself, are long term SOLM investors who are not playing the flipping game, or may take some profits on a run up and then buy back in. Personally, I would not be too worried at a bit more retrenchment before we head on up. I have been a SOLM investor for over two years, and originally bought in at high levels compared to today, but most of my position was purchased well below the current run up, since I like many others saw OPPORTUNITY in capital letters when a company with these prospects falls so low.
I still think the undervaluation is mind boggling, and that whatever happens today, or tomorrow, in the medium (and long) term we have nowhere to go but up.
good things to come.
Yep. :)
This new patent and business strategy is the perfect "end run" around TOY's attmpted theft.
imho, the Fat lady has not even started to warm up yet....:)
Oniro,
Belated thanks for being the first to report this to the board. That must have been weird, you were here and watching the thing go up like a hot air balloon and no one else was posting! (I was in the classroom teaching...) Anyway, excellent job scouting news and alerting us.
--Ben
Fivestar, based on the self-reporting so far, it seems like most of our board members bought in during the lows, although of course some of you may have been adding today as you saw the news....Still, I doubt our Solmians amounted to 6 million shares for the day.
In any case, I'll watch closely as soon as my $ are fully available. I think that any buys at these levels are still like stealing candy from a baby, but you know me, I'm a real skinflint, so I'd like to time any more acquisitions as strategically as possible.
Yes, I'm definitely long term. As I've said b4 on these boards, my first profit taking mark is .25. !!!!
And that's just to cover my investment while I stay vested with the rest and watch the ride to the top. Yihaaa!
Thanks N8dogg....makes sense to me.
Great, umsllc. I'm teasing, of course, but I was about to add another big chunk...o well. My timing has been pretty good for the most part on this. I think we're just starting on a long and profitable adventure.
Yes, its quite possible that we will just keep going up for a while, isn't it?
Ok, I'm getting over being miffed...sort of. I guess we had a pretty good day today, huh? :) Anyone have any good suggestions about how to play from here if one wants to add, even at these grossly inflated (:)) prices?
To retrace or not to retrace...that is now the question.
Congratulations to everyone.
