are you sure he has a paid newsletter? I think it's just the free one...i can't find anything on the site about a paid newsletter.
Yeah,
This JUST my personal opinion, but I don't think this will have any impact on the stock. Zac
Hi,
I don't see any negative to the lebed thing...yeah, it could add volatility to the share-price, but that's not a problem. He has not been compensated by anyone for this pick. He just thinks it's a good buy. Granted, Lebed has about as much credibility as Geraldo Rivera...but we'll see what happens.
Zac
Well they don't have shareholder's equity of over 4mm either
yes it does

Hi,
I was just looking at the wikipedia entry for Uwink, and noticed a mistake...it stated, incorrectly, that the company was founded in 1982. This is wrong. uWink was founded in 2000. There is some confusion apparently because Prologue, the shell company that "acquired" uWink in the reverse merger that took uWink public WAS founded in 1982...
laptops lol
Nolan Bushnell himself said that "opinions are fun. That tells you something about the other person." So lets have lots of different opinions. ;) Zac
Anyone who is bullish on the stock can say whatever they want no matter how asinine, but bears must have evidence. That's stupid.
I agree completely
not to mention a newspaper review...
Just wanna make it clear i enjoy your thoughts on uwink, and basically agree that his argument was (as I showed in my post) without merit. I guess I just think all arguments should be seen and judged for themselves.
Yeah, I agree with you to an extent. I would not be shocked at all if this pulled back significantly short-term. But if Uwink starts announcing franchise sales, opens another couple company-owned stores, and does a big grand opening with celebrities, the stock will react. This is still a micro-cap. It's trading on the OTC, and for all the hooplah surrounding the recent run-up, it's still only a 54 million dollar company (if you include the dillution reported in the new 10-Q).
But I agree with you that there is a fair amount of hype surrounding it and that this is a speculative pick. We shall see what happens.
thats what nolan said in that interview
Start franchising in 2-3 Weeks!!
I would say that it's very likely that the show had already been put together before the restaurant was open. While this is probably not a major PR coup for Uwink, it certainly provides an interesting profile of Nolan Bushnell. I enjoyed it.
Is this gonna be 2 hours? I thought it was only one. :) zac
yeah, very interesting.
Nothing wrong with a pullback...Uwink is just getting going...this stock is gonna be big-time...can't wait for the Game On special. Even if it doesn't mention Uwink, it will be entertaining.
Yeah, and this seems like it could lend itself to franchsing even better CEC did...don't you think? I mean, creating a restaurant anything like Uwink is darn near impossible. Chuck E. Cheese is a strong brand but, in theory, not impossible to duplicate. I think the franchising opportunities for Uwink are extremely exciting.
No, someone on this board suggested that based on the CNBC coverage, it would go to 3.
Yeah, and good riddance to them. :) Zac
Wow we're up late...yeah, the 10-Q looked fine...nice to see the positive net worth.
Yeah, good to mention this. I think it's pretty normal for a company like this though to have significant dilution. They need it to fund growth.
"Our near term strategy is to prove our concept at the Woodland Hills location
and subsequently seek to open 2 to 3 additional company-owned and/or managed
restaurants within the next 3 to 6 months.
Our longer term growth strategy is to open additional company-owned and/or
company-managed restaurants in new markets and to franchise our concept,
focusing on multiple-unit area development agreements with experienced
operators. We are targeting a mix of one-third company-owned restaurants and
two-thirds franchised restaurants. We expect we will also seek to generate
additional revenue through the sale of media equipment to franchisees."
Nothing really exciting after a preliminary read-through. What is Encouraging is that we now have a positive net worth! ;) It also says that Uwink expects to have to raise more capital within the next six months, but this is to expected if they are to expand. Not a problem there.
All in all, the emphais on the rear-view that is the nature of quarterly reports makes this one not really interesting/noteworthy. But good to see that the balance sheet is in better shape.
Anyone have thoughts?
Zac
So that will be today, Tuesday? May I ask where you got that information? Just curious. Zac
Rawnoc,
The 10-Q should be out tomorrow or Wednesday, right? Zac
Yeah, I agree...I was just noticing that the timing was funny.

He sold 15,080 shares at $1.45 on Thursday. ;) I wonder how he's feeling about that right now...
So was Uwink/Bushnell in fact on CNBC today? Zac
Alright I admit it...while i try not to focus on share-price, today was FUN!!! WOOHOO!! GO UWINK!!!!!!!! ;) Zac
Just a quick note to say my piece on UWINK that so many of you hate is on SeekingAlpha... ;) Zac
Hey,
Thanks for the support. :) I think we all agree, it's just hard to articulate well in a message board format. I've been guilty of laziness in terms of getting my point across clearly, and it's turned some people off...oh well, live and learn.
As far the Analyst/analysis thing, calling ourselves "analysts" is just part of our sophmoric desire to be part of Wall Street. ;) Seriously though, we've received strong feedback on the piece (including thestreet.com mention), and we are hoping to write more and perhaps eventually sell them. Doing them in PDF (sloppy though that one was...still learning the software) and calling ourselves analysts is just part of making it look good. We certainly are not misrepresenting ourselves. I tell people the truth about my age, and that I have learned about investing from reading, and that most likely I am full of crap. Zac
<<Talking to management presumes access to them, which I do not have.>>
I have access to them, and I can assure you that I am no better connected than you. I have spoken with Alissa Bushnell, Nancy Nino, and some other guy whose name I don't remember. All the conversations, while of course void of material news, gave me an excellent feel for how the company is operating, what their objectives are, and the management philosophy. Call them up and talk to them. You'll gain from it. Thanks, Zac
so how do you gather information about how the company is doing?
Visting the restaurant, talking to people who have, speaking with management, reading reviews in area newspapers...
