I agree S2. As I recall when MRVL bought Xscale, they said it could be 2 years before it adds to the bottom line. Where was this clown (analyst)then?
I am not a CPA. However, if MRVL bought the operation for $.10 on the dollar, I can't see that there would be any Goodwill.
Well, here might be the beginning of the McClelland (amongst others) "pull back" that everyone has been expecting. I'm sure that after the Fed meeting today the US won't be far behind.

This is fairly encouraging about where the 802.11n standard stands;

Did anyone see yesterdays WSJ. Evidently Prada is coming out with a cell phone that has a touch screen. Volumes may not be there at $800/phone, but who is inside of that one?
Yeah, the xscale news is great and should be good for a double in MRVL.
Now, if we could find where MRVL fits into this theory and exploit this little tidbit, MRVL could possibly split;

Kind of makes you wonder if there is a contest going on out there between analysts as to who can be the bigger whore.
This guy is just so transparent.
So S2, are you saying that MRVL should tank starting the end of Jan thru earnings in Feb? TIA
I should have known being it was Linksys that was using it, it would have an internet telephony use.
On the other hand, maybe we could help out Apple with a replacement name.
How about Isquawk?
I guess that Cisco and Apple couldn't agree on a price. Was Cisco planning on getting into cell phones? Jeez
Pretty much tells you that MRVL knew what it was doing in purchasing INTC's cell processor business.
Maybe the analysts can now put 2 and 2 together? Naw!
I saw that too. I'm sure that AAPL will come up with a name just as clever (probably already have).
The MarketWatch article also says that MRVL is not yet finished with their investigation so I wouldn't get too excited.
My understanding is that there are just too many companies involved in the options BS for the SEC or whatever legal authority to prosecute (not enough resources), so they are going to have to settle as many as possible and then go after the major offenders.
Is that true? It sure appears that MRVL may have dodged a bullet.
TIA.
That's what I thought. Any idea how long it will take to be finalized? A lot of the manufacturers are holding back till it is done so that they can advertise it as being to the N standard.
TIA
Has the 802.11n standard been finalized yet? That could explain the pent up demand.
Thanks S2. One question still remains. You were predicting possibly $30 for MRVL by end of Feb. You still sticking with that knowing that most of January may be crappy? TIA again.
OK S2, This is what I have been curious about (I, amongst others could see this coming from October). The week between Xmas and Christmas (last year was SHITTY!!!!!!)
What say you? Are the charts worth something?
Day is not over yet but I am seeing some strength in MRVL. It may go down, but without kicking and screaming......
"In 10 years, you very well could see this making you 500% or more."
I'm hoping that you mean closer to 5000% in 10 years with all of those climbs and splits.
Just pulling your leg. Thanks.
I ain't no fool. Just looking and waiting for the inevitable run.
Just a little itchy.....
Is this a prediction as to what is to come?
Don't BS me, I can take a joke.
Now how's that for a close?
Yeah, tell me there are no big boys covering each other's ass's.
The question is, what will MRVL (stock price) do till 07?
Is $20 roughly the bottom? Will there be a repeat of this time last year?
TIA
S2, you're saying that MRVL will move up to $22.47 after a close above $21.25. What happens after $22.47? A breather (pullback)?
TIA
S2, thanks for your response. Let us know QUICKLY if your new system works well and good luck with it.
I'm here for MRVL but enjoy the off topic stuff.
S2, I am not a TA expert but why does your new uptrend line not connect the bottom of the gap down from a few days ago (low 18's)?
TIA
S2, I thought that you had posted a recent chart of MRVL. Could you either repost it or update and then repost. It has to be getting close to the breakout point. TIA
S2, what does the latest MRVL chart look like?
Fugly? TIA
They don't say that there is a direct corollation. I'm sure that there is lots of fluff in there somewhere. In other words, 28 months out is a stretch.
According to McClellen's published pamphlet, the lag between the price of gold and the stock market reaction is 28 months. That should make for a nice market thru the middle of 2008 unless gold sets a new high shortly.
Am I wrong?
Well, I picked up a subscription to McClellan this weekend (the twice monthly). We'll see how good they are. First new issue is this Friday. In the mean time S2 or anyone, anything change with them since 8/18?
TIA
S2, what is McClellan saying now?
Everything still on for October?
TIA
Well Syndicate I hope that we/you are correct. Nothing but gloom and doom on the FOX Saturday "Cost Of Freedom" shows (so far). Usually, when the gloom and doom is predicted the market does the opposite. We'll see...
I don't know if anyone watches the FOX business shows that are on every Saturday, but one thing that I noticed;
Last week there was no mention about the DOW hitting new highs and a lot on mention again about the price of oil going to $100.
This week was like an epiphany.....
Many of the same BS artists and guests that they shuffle around from show to show are now talking DOW 12000 by end of year and oil at $60.
Sounds like the media is now ready to pump....
Go figure
All of this talk about recession is IMO a bunch of crap. All I read is that;
1. People have been paying down on debt
2. They FINALLY are getting decent raises, are FEELING better about their finances and will thereby keep spending.
3. This negative savings thing is baloney. Most families net worth is going UP.
I could go on and on but to read one persons opinion and take it for fact is not doing anyone any good. Remember, no one knows when there has been a recession until you are coming out of it.
Have a nice weekend all.
Sounds to me like they lowballed it. That should teach fools who mess with MRVL come November.
If MRVL reports blowout revenues this evening, it is going to be interesting watching tomorrow with the MMs trying to keep it under control.
Same thing happened to NVDA a week ago, but they didn't warn. The stock was down about $2.50 in the AH. The next day, the stock dropped about $3 early on and closed down about $.50. It is now up about $3 since before the drop.
ALL of that options crap should already be baked in. I would use any drop as a buying opportunity when the dust settles. JMHO
So, was today the first day of a long overdue breakout?
