Change Led by Mayor Bloomberg Most Recent Relaxation in Marijuana Regulation
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Feb. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GrowLife, Inc. (OTCQB:PHOT), a provider of highly effective indoor growing technologies, is pleased to report that the trend of relaxation and decriminalization of marijuana continues with the announcement that New York City will not arrest individuals for possession of marijuana.
"Right now, those arrested for possessing small amounts of marijuana are often held in custody overnight. We're changing that," Bloomberg said during his State of the City address yesterday. "Effective next month, anyone presenting an ID and clearing a warrant check will be released directly from the precinct with a desk appearance ticket to return to court. It's consistent with the law, it's the right thing to do and it will allow us to target police resources where they're needed most."
Additionally, Mayor Bloomberg indicated that this new position on marijuana enforcement is simply the first step in his plan to radically change the way the city handles marijuana. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo intends to introduce a bill to decriminalize possession of marijuana under 15 grams, and Bloomberg is on record in support of the initiative.
"It is affirming to see that the trend of decriminalization and relaxation of marijuana laws continues, especially in the most populous city in the country," stated Sterling C. Scott, CEO, Grow Life, Inc. "Not only does Mayor Bloomberg's policy change affect constituents of a metropolitan area that's comprised of nearly 19 million people but it sends a powerful signal to the nation that times are changing very, very quickly. New York City has a history of leadership and seminal moves over a long period of time."

Rapid Fire Marketing's Cheryl Shuman Appears with CANNAcig Featured on CBS TV National News Story Fri Sep 21 11:47:00 2012 EDT
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ --
Rapid Fire Marketing (Pink Sheets: RFMK) a developer, producer and distributor
of vapor inhalers is proud to announce that Celebrity Spokesperson Cheryl Shuman
will be featured on CBS television news set to air on September 26, 2012. The segment
currently entitled "Pot Moms: Women Who Prefer Cannabis Over Alcohol" shot by KCBS-TV
news will air in Los Angeles on the 11 p.m. newscast and syndicated nationally throughout
all of the CBS network stations and affiliates. (Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120921/LA78948) Cheryl Shuman will be featured with two young activists who are also mothers
introducing the CANNAcig Vapor Inhaler by RFMK as a much healthier way to consume
cannabis rather than smoking. "Mainstream America needs to understand that there
are millions of women across the country that prefer to consume cannabis instead
of alcohol or tobacco. By going behind the scenes of real life women who regularly
use marijuana, it removes the stigma. Media needs to show more positive role models
as a modern cannabis consumer versus the typical negative stereotype." Seventeen states across the country currently provide legal medical marijuana.
While still illegal on a federal level, Colorado, Oregon and Washington could become
the first to legalize marijuana for recreational use this fall. In all three states asking voters to decide whether residents can smoke pot,
the proponents promise big rewards, though estimates of tax revenue vary widely: Colorado's campaign touts money for school construction. Ads promote the
measure with the tag line, "Strict Regulation. Fund Education." State analysts project
somewhere between $5 million and $22 million a year. An economist whose study was
funded by a pro-pot group projects a $60 million boost by 2017. Washington's campaign promises to devote more than half of marijuana taxes
to substance-abuse prevention, research, education and health care. Washington state
analysts have produced the most generous estimate of how much tax revenue legal
pot could produce, at nearly $2 billion over five years. Oregon's measure, known as the Cannabis Tax Act, would devote 90 percent
of recreational marijuana profits to the state's general fund. Oregon's fiscal analysts
haven't even guessed at the total revenue, citing the many uncertainties inherent
in a new marijuana market. They have projected prison savings between $1.4 million
and $2.4 million a year if marijuana use was legal without a doctor's recommendation. Shuman, a respected business woman and activist states: Marijuana is objectively less harmful than alcohol. The consequences of a marijuana offense are too severe. Law enforcement resources would be better spent on more serious crimes. "We all know there's a market for marijuana, but right now the profits are
all going to drug cartels or underground," said Cheryl Shuman. Cheryl Shuman has taken Hollywood by storm recently making news with a new
reality series in development with the prestigious William Morris Endeavor Agency
in Beverly Hills, California. Cheryl Shuman is best known for her work on the television
show as the marijuana expert on "Wilfred" the FX network starring Elijah Wood and
Jason Gann. Known as the "Martha Stewart of Marijuana" by international media, Shuman
brings 25 years of experience working with media, celebrities, marketing and health
care in Beverly Hills. Shuman found her passion in the cannabis movement since 1996
working as an activist and legal cannabis patient. Since using cannabis therapy,
she has survived cancer and injuries from two car crashes. "When I was diagnosed with cancer, I kept a video diary online so that when
my time comes I could leave a legacy behind. Thanks to this miracle plant, I am
alive to spread the word about cannabis with CBS TV. Working with William Morris
Endeavor to develop this reality series with Mark Itkin is a dream come true," stated
Shuman. Cheryl Shuman will continue maintaining a video journal on the development
of this alliance on YouTube. Stay tuned.... Safe Harbor: From time to time, the Company may issue news releases that
