Talk about getting very desperate re the shorts new evidence that Glassware is "hype": A UC Santa Barbara Computer Science Prof who obviously hasn't seen or worked with Glassware. I thought true scientists were open minded and looked at "facts" to prove or disprove claims. Sorry Hugo, you have to do better than that to convince any one on this board that Glassware is hype.
Your 5 seconds of fame is done, time to move on Hugo to your next assignment.
At this point he missed the boat. We've been through the "proof" stage already with Glassware. He needs to get up to speed, read some of the pinned posts of the past. At this moment the focus is on MSFT, the extent of their partnership and the possibility of a merger. We don't need to prove to anyone anymore what Glassware does or how disruptive it will be.
It will be impossible to stay in stealth mode after Wednesday's coming out party. Watch the volume of shares traded skyrocket after that. What management has done to date is make many surprise announcements, catching investors and shorts off guard. I expect many more nice surprises next week.
Very soon we're going to look back at these bargain basement share prices in disbelief that they remained so low for such a long period of time
Nice after hour trading as well, up to $3.99
Great analysis of the situation, I think you're dead on with this one.
I'm blown away with this technology, and by the look of things so is MSFT. For MSFT to make such large claims for the near future they know what they have with Sphere 3D. If Nuranix is worth $ 2 billion, Sphere easily trumps that number, justifying my estimate at $144/ share. I don't think this valuation is hyped at all.
Nothing under $140 for me. Sphere is headed to becoming a multi billion dollar company very quickly.
Takeover attempt by the end of the summer IMO. Microsoft would be foolish to let Sphere 3D fall into a competitor's hands.
Looks like Sphere 3D is in Microsoft's bussom and isn't going anywhere with anyone else
I was trying to figure out the advantage that Glassware has over the traditional leaders in the field, Citrix and VMware and came across this recent release by Citrix. It reads like a carbon copy of the Sphere 3D
manifesto. Can someone with a technical background explain to me what the advantage that ANY has over Citrix in very basic terms? Thx in advance.

I still can't figure out why anyone on this board even bothers with Hugo. His motives are obvious and his contribution to this board is nill. His opinions are meaningless.
I love how ANY releases their news mid day, keeps the shorts on their toes.
Great numbers, I totally agree with your calculations, jackpot would be a buyout of Spiffy by MSFT
Just spoke to an IT "acquaintance" about Sphere 3D. His eyes almost popped out of his head when I brought up the company. He just heard about it and feels it's the next best thing since sliced bread in the IT world. Looks like Spiffy is finally making its way to the techies and their companies.
I don't see anything less than a buyout of Spiffy by MSFT. With all the announcements re Azure and Windows 10, not one direct mention of Sphere being at the centre of MSFTs miraculous new technology which makes sense - don't give your competitors ANY chance of getting their hands on the Holy Grail. Yet Dockers and other collaborative companies are freely mentioned. BTW shorts, don't bother responding that Spiffy is likely not part of MSFT's new revival, we all know they are.
$5billion buyout = about $143/share, not a bad days work at all!
One has to be insane to give up that many shares at that low price
Don't bother wasting your time responding to Hugo. If Corel is his argument as to the problems with GW then we're in great shape. Don't fuel his fire, not worth the time or effort. Would MSFT, Dell, Novarad, Google et al waste their time with Spiffy if nothing was there?
$24/share is way undervaluing what Sphere 3D is worth
The new investors looking into "the new cloud" appear to be investing in Microsoft and not Sphere. Their stock has jumped $10/share or 25%. The early investors are going with the big guy, less of a likely huge return than with ANY but also less risky.
I've been noticing mass advertising by Microsoft Azure for at least the last 2 weeks
Interesting wording on Microsoft Azure web site
"Run Windows applications anywhere
Azure RemoteApp helps employees stay productive anywhere, and on a variety of devices - Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, or Android. Your company’s applications run on Windows Server in the Azure cloud, where they’re easier to scale and update. Employees install Microsoft Remote Desktop clients on their Internet-connected laptop, tablet, or phone—and can then access applications as if they were running locally."
Wording sounds awfully familiar, where have I heard this before?......
I'm in no way a financial expert, nor do I understand this stock market and try to successfully predict how any stock will move in the near future, but one thing that seems to be quite clear to me, and I'm surprised no one has yet to address, is the simple theory of supply and demand.
The Bulls are laying the blame on this stagnating share price on those shorting it. As long as shorting is legal, those that want and can, will short stocks; that's just reality. The problem is still a lack of exposure to the masses of this company. Yes, yesterday was a great day as it appears stealth mode is finally gone and exposure by CNN money and other financial media are making many aware of this great company that many of us Bulls have luckily discovered much earlier on. But put yourself in the position of an investor hearing about this company for the first time yesterday. Would you jump all over this stock just with what was announced yesterday? Likely not. If you value your money you would do your DD first and learn as much as you could about this company. With the volatility of this stock over the last year, I believe many investors who heard about ANY just yesterday are watching by the sidelines as events develop before they jump in.
Only when ANY starts reporting impressive revenues and SP becomes less volatile will new investors start salivating and will want to invest their money in this company. Until then, us longs will continue to patiently wait for that day. I have no doubt that day will come, but today or any day in the near future is not the day that demand surges. Just my opinion.
Why would they need ANY other company when Glassware does it all for them??
Eerily quiet on this board recently! The calm before the storm?
If Microsoft is already incorporating Sphere 3 D technology in Azure, why the need to be in stealth mode still? Management needs to be out there advertising the benefits of their product.
Comatose, for us non techies, what's the take home message from that link you posted re Microsoft nano server? What's the connection to ANY?
Interesting excerpt on Yahoo Finance today re Microsoft:
"Nadella's plans include giving away the next version of Windows, Windows 10, for a year to consumers, as well as offering free versions for small devices; pushing its enterprise customers to cloud services, some of which are low margin, in the hopes of enticing them to also buy higher margin cloud services; and bringing to market a whole new set of apps and technologies that let people work smarter, faster, and collaboratively on any platform, — not just Windows, but also iOS and Android."
ANY platform? Sound familiar?
That may be the case but management did a terrible job of setting up the latest financial news. For new investors looking at the company, the first piece of news they see is a Q4 2014 loss. The company should have stressed the Glassware part as fairly new and the company's main source of income moving forward will be from this new technology and all the new contracts with Dell, Microsoft, Google etc. will be coming in the quarters ahead. Only investors that have been around from the get go see the story unfolding but the new investors, the ones we need to really get the show going, can't see the big picture the way things are currently reported.
I'm glad to see that there are a few on this board still with balls
This board has become soft!!
Come on guys, we have a great company here with revenues that are eventually going to skyrocket. Don't let this temporary drop in SP discourage you. Reread the summary of what this company has been able to do last year alone. No surprise that money was lost last year due to the merger, it was expected! The drop is due to those SH that were looking for a quick buck and know nothing about the history of the company and its potential. ANY is still in its infancy, don't let the battering by shorts discourage you, this is a great buy opportunity for those that want to increase their position. Hang in there!
How is the conference call mediated? Is there some mechanism in place to prevent a non-spiffy friend to ransack the conference call and take focus away from the questions that we investors have?
Yes a 2 on their scale is a buy, good to see more coverage of ANY, Tuesday the games are over and we'll finally get the true share price that is deserved!
I like your version better, will nominate it for a Pulitzer
Q4 financials will be released Mon the 30th. What are the chances that the actual reported earnings will be far higher than what was estimated recently by the company? IMO not much of a chance, since these figures likely won't include much in the way of Glassware revenues, which then leaves the next reporting date in Aug as the time when actual revenues for Q1 2015 greatly exceed what was estimated, and only then will we likely see a major jump in share price to truly reflect the value of this great company. Why can't everyone else see what we have here? The moment I heard about what this company was doing I jumped all over this. Maybe we're making it too complicated for the average investor to understand what Sphere really dose? JMO but very frustrating waiting.....
I don't feel that today's MSFT announcement did much more than give IT junkies hard ons for the time being. Not that this deal with MSFT isn't huge, by all means I'm not downplaying its significance, but the rise in share price is going to be a slow and painful one.
I was going to make the same point that we're truly in stealth mode as I would expect a huge upswing today prior to the MS webcast tomorrow re Azure
As well, if MSFT had their own version of Glassware they wouldn't need to sign a deal with us, plus there is a thing called a patent that I'm sure would be enforced if MSFT tried to release their own version of Glassware
I'm wondering why many here are surprised by the undervaluation of this stock and why the "institutions" have not jumped in yet. If you were managing hundreds of millions of dollars of your client's money, would you be investing in a company that has no major revenue officially reported to date? Why take the risk? Institutions hear about "the next big thing" everyday and are accountable to their investors to invest their hard earned money wisely. Those of us who have been in from the early days have been following this company closely and know the current forces that are affecting this company. We have the foresight to know what a great company this is and it's future potential. Just be patient until the 30th, that's when the game changes, but this is just my opinion, an amateur trader, and it's your right to argue with the way I see it.
Thank you Pepsiman for spelling that out for the day to day whiners. Patience is not a virtue for most on this blog.
