I think that election polls may also be a price trigger for TWD/OGI/etc...
With Trudeau et al potentially winning the next election, the industry's future will be brighter with lots of de-risking.
Additionally, the current HC crack down, in my opinion, is also likely politically motivated / inspired.
With the election cycle just getting started now, there could be news items coming out which will remind people of the public status of these co's and fuel some interest.
Time will tell...
Again EOD heavy push pressure.... lol
There's serious interest by some sophisticated groups out there. Biding time and snapping up lots slowly at aggressive pricing.
Old news indeed. A population of one.
It'll be interesting to see how the #'s grow over the near term.
Won't go into the legalese too much, but with the massive precedential events going on in the US, regarding MJ and legalization for adults, it's going to be very difficult for the SCC to be able to uphold a law.
There's a legal doctrine called the "harm principle". The argument for it pertaining to MJ is weakening every day/week/month.
Will be interesting what the SCC rules in Feb. May be better, for everyone, than anticipated....
Oh the times, they are-a changin....
Wrong Board Category?
Won't this Board get better traction if it was in the correct area?
i.e.:
Home > Boards > Canadian > Cannabis > Mettrum Health Corp
As well, with only 600kg/year license approval, it seems they are at there max revenues per quarter....
If things change, it may be a play I'd also be interested in.
that was hilarious....
for the last 30 minutes, the trolls had 210 lots bidding down and the SP inched UP via tiny flips.
$2.44 finish without feeding this group.
Me thinks it's an organized team that drives the SP down to panic some investors to snap cheapies from skittish folks.
My "conspiracy" strategic vulture investor theory....
Yep... There they are....
210 bids pushing down... lol
Putting in $$$$$$ to drop the SP down at EOD...
Agreed.
I'm waiting for the group that attacks at EOD most days....
Starting to track the pattern.
Fair enough.
The troll clearly has some sort of agenda.
Maybe the one continually dumping down the share price at EOD....
US Vets fighting for access:

New bill would allow the VA to recommend medical marijuana for patients
WASHINGTON — Arguing that medical marijuana may help wounded warriors with anxiety and stress disorders to "survive and thrive," Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., have introduced legislation that would allow Department of Veterans Affairs’ doctors to recommend the drug for some patients.
The Veterans Equal Access Act and would challenge the VA’s policy that forbids doctors from consulting about medical pot use. Earlier this month, The Washington Post reported about the issue.
"We should be allowing these wounded warriors access to the medicine that will help them survive and thrive, including medical marijuana, not treating them like criminals and forcing them into the shadows," said Blumenauer in a statement.
The federal government classifies marijuana as a Schedule I drug, the same as heroin and LSD, deeming that it has no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. That means that VA, which runs the largest network of hospitals and health clinics in the country, cannot prescribe pot as a treatment, even for veterans who live in a state where medical marijuana is legal. VA says that its physicians and chronic-pain specialists "are prohibited from recommending and prescribing medical marijuana for PTSD or other pain-related issues."
Medical staff are also prohibited from completing paperwork required to enroll in state marijuana programs because they are "federal employees who must comply with federal law," said Gina Jackson, a VA spokeswoman.
Over 20 percent of the 2.8 million American veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan suffer from PTSD and depression, according to the Blumenauer statement. In addition, a recent study found that of the nearly one million veterans who receive opioids to treat painful conditions, more than half continue to consume chronically or beyond 90 days, their statement said.
Another study found that the death rate from opiate overdoses among VA patients is nearly double the national average.
"In states where patients can legally access medical marijuana for painful conditions, often as a less-addictive alternative, the hands of VA physicians should not be tied," the statement said.
Researchers in the United States and several other countries have found evidence that cannabis can help treat post-traumatic stress disorder and pain, although studies - such as those looking into the best strains and proper dosages - remain in the early stages.
Michael Krawitz, executive director of Veterans For Medical Cannabis Access, said they "are very proud to stand by Congressman Blumenauer and support the Veterans Equal Access Act."
"The Veterans Health Administration has made it very clear that, as federal employees, they lack the free speech necessary to write the recommendations for Veterans to comply with state programs," said Krawitz. "This legislation is needed to correct that legal situation and repair this VA doctor patient relationship."
The status quo has numerous harmful effects, said Blumenauer. "It forces veterans into the black market to self-medicate," he said. "It prevents doctors from giving their best and honest advice and recommendations. And it pushes both doctors and their patients toward drugs that are potentially more harmful and more addictive. It’s insane, and it has to stop."
Though pot is still illegal in the eyes of the federal government, 23 states permit medical marijuana use, including Oregon and California.
recurring vs trending. apologies.
should be more careful with my words
AKA acquisition targets....
Looks like it is indeed.
Just set some good limit buys with spare cash to catch great daily deals.
The pops in the morning are great though...
There's been a trend of this happening EOD recently... always weird drops.
Maybe someone was trying to depress for close price?
Lesson learned: Overstate then vacuum up cheap shares when people flee.
:P
Just kidding. ;)
Agreed. Seems folks are trickling back in... Over $2.60 EOD? Will be interesting to see.
That's a very nice looking 200-day MA. Hope it's slope continues into the mid/long term future.
Aside from the DB's crapping on everything and anything (without writing legibly, or making any sense), I believe the rest of us Long's can agree.
It'll be interesting to see what happens today and the next few weeks as the real growth side of the Q3 has finally been explained with the inventory confusion clarified (re: testing, timing and valuation).
While yesterday was a bit rough overall, it was a great chance for me to lower my own avg cost basis with TWD.
Happy investing.
LOL....
Wait, wasn't it $60M loss this Q?
I heard Cheech and Chong smoked all of their inventory... or was it Trudeau.
:P
LOL... oh dear....
While I'm not sure what "dreed"-ing is, your pseudo-legal opinion is irrelevant regarding the application of the Narcotics Act.
Regarding your comments, re: legalization, I think that is one of the good points on Tweed and exactly what the Feds have wanted. (commented numerous times on this Board - have been "lurking" for a while - bored writing essays so this is a nice escape from endless paper writing/studying).
Regarding the DEA, the DEA is having a massive fight in the US regarding its own stance around marijuana and its ongoing legal status.
Additionally, as a Canadian, the securities laws are pretty cut and dry. I'm invested in a CCPC and not in marijuana itself. It could be nails, paper towel or widgets, the business is the fundamental corporate body that I have a stake in, not the product.
I could go on, but I feel it would fall on deaf ears...
Remember to be careful about the flouride in the water supply. I hear the DEA put it there as well...
While many people likely do grow there own MJ, the same could be said about beer/wine/tomatoes/carrots/etc... Sure you can do it yourself, but 90% of people won't. That's the space we are invested in now.
Ok, done.
What fundamentals? It would be interesting to hear what you're talking about.
Buying at @2.25 was a great feeling. To be honest. I'm long for a while. The fundamentals seem solid. This'll be a good short-push out. Haven't sold anything and won't for a while.
This re-affirms that it'll (very likely) never go <$2 again.

Advertising prohibitions pertaining to marijuana
The Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) define advertisement, as does the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) and the Narcotic Control Regulations (NCR), to include any representation by any means whatever for the purpose of promoting directly or indirectly the sale or disposal of a drug in the case of the FDA, or a narcotic with respect to the NCR. The FDA and the NCR contain general prohibitions against the advertising of marijuana that Licensed Producers are required to comply with including, but not limited to:
FDA s 3. (1) No person shall advertise any food, drug, cosmetic or device to the general public as a treatment, preventative or cure for any of the diseases, disorders or abnormal physical states referred to in Schedule A.
FDA s 9. (1) No person shall label, package, treat, process, sell or advertise any drug in a manner that is false, misleading or deceptive or is likely to create an erroneous impression regarding its character, value, quantity, composition, merit or safety.
NCR s 70. No person shall (a) publish or cause to be published or furnish any advertisement respecting a narcotic unless the symbol "N" is clearly and conspicuously displayed in the upper left-hand quarter thereof or, if the advertisement consists of more than one page, on the first page thereof; (b) publish or cause to be published or furnish any advertisement to the general public respecting a narcotic; or (c) advertise in a pharmacy a preparation referred to in section 36.
Pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the FDA, it is prohibited to advertise any drug to the general public as a treatment, preventative or cure for any of the diseases, disorders or abnormal physical states referred to in Schedule A to the FDA.
The purpose of any message by a licensed producer, its content, the context and its intended audience are all factors to consider in determining whether a message falls within the definition of advertising. Non-promotional information is not considered advertising.
However, the publishing of promotional materials and advertisements are of serious concern. Health Canada is especially concerned about advertisements of any kind which are false, misleading or deceptive and those which advertise marijuana in relation to particular therapeutic claims. Licensed Producers found not to be in compliance with the FDA or the NCR may be subject to compliance and enforcement action by Health Canada.
Please be aware that Health Canada licenses but does not endorse any particular Licensed Producer. Licensed Producers must refrain from giving the impression that they, their products, or activities are endorsed by Health Canada. It is the responsibility of the Licensed Producer to ensure that any information issued by your company complies with all applicable legislative requirements.

Hasn't deleted the post yet... lol
Please post the specific Canadian legislation you're referring to.
I'm sure everyone here would be keen to review.
While I don't mind getting a great price today, I do believe your perception may be quite some distance from reality.
My 2 cents.
May be the last day to buy-in under $2.50/Sh. With the real ramp up coming online now (6 growing rooms at full throttle) it's gonna be nice....
Right along my own analysis... profitable in <16 months... that sounds awesome for moi!!!
lol thx guys! Doubled down at a great price! :D SCORES!!?!??!?!
Maybe a double down day to lower my Avg cost... Will see in a few hours.
Funny reading the scammers/short sellers pumping there doomsday stories here.
ok, last one. need to study lol.
I believe they hold it in Inv at cost, not at sales value. Haven't reviewed their accounting practices, yet.
The Q1 - BEP was based on YTD COGS, not just Q3 as it's likely skewed. With the YTD COGS used to hit the fixed Q costs I got, 4.03M$ Rev/Q. Which, if they hit there room expansion, should be Q1 2015. But, like the other guy said, Q2-3 2015 is more conservative.
Let's see what the boss says tomm on the conf call.
Based on current run rate - Q1 2015 BEP.
lol no more writing this eve. Hope TWD can pay for a nice chunk of my MBA...
~68% increase Q-on-Q... not bad at all. 6-fold increase in growing capacity... Apply that to Q3 Rev - $3.03M Q4 - 2014E ~ $3.53M
It'll be interesting to hear what the discussion is like tomm during the conf call. The great news, is that there were no land mines in the MD&A and Fin Stat's. New customers coming in - check. Grow rooms online - 1 to 6? --> check. If people panic and sell, may be a good time to lower your Avg Cost Basis.
Agreed: "Gross margin was $74,475 or 26.6% and $183,754 or 36.4% for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2014 respectively. These percentages improve as recently completed and planned grow rooms begin yielding harvests which produces increased volumes of inventories."
~40% increase in GM. This and they haven't even scaled up properly. Sounds like things are ticking along nicely.
Yep. Rev will ramp up huge in Q4: "On November 14, 2014 the harvest had been cut, trimmed and was drying and curing so as to be available for sale in the beginning of December along with Tweed harvests from six growing rooms at its Smiths Falls facility that had commenced in October."
Some good points in the MD&A: "The restriction on supply and inventory has been reduced and therefore effective November 20, 2014 the Company began converting individuals on the waiting list to patient status and opened to
immediate new patient registrations." --> Growth rev-up! Sounds like Q4 will be a much "healthier" time with the spigot opened by the Feds.
Tweed had three grow rooms in production by the end of July and on August 31 had an additional three grow rooms brought online, bringing production capacity to six grow rooms by the end of the quarter and meaning that harvests are now six-fold larger than early harvests. Tweed has committed to introducing an additional six rooms by the end of calendar 2014 and remains on pace to reach this target.
Hope so... hope so. While it's a long long, a nice pop would be nice. Solid rev, with maintained COGS would be ideal... With a $2.85 close we're still ahead of the $3.20 PP from GMP & Jacobs
Lot's of bouncing in the 80's range... deep into this one. Hope tomorrow is some decent news confirming the signalling over the past few weeks.
meh.. things seem to have found a settling point. seems it'll stay under $2.90
first post. :P
