FIII Put in a bid for 1000 shares at the 9.98 ask and got one share. Lame.
Think CPPMF is similarly a good buy in the low 3s.
As inflation has heated up over the last few months, the 10 year Treasury yield has declined almost 20% to 1.47 from a recent high of 1.77. In the "old days" inflation fears would trigger higher interest rates. Now the Fed seems in complete control of driving rates.
CPSS 4.98 going up every day recently. Looks like someone is quietly accumulating. Still cheap based on Q1 diluted earnings of .21
With car sales ramping and interest rates still low, they should put up even better Q2 numbers.
DMTK 43.30 up 10% in a mixed market. Good news is I added more when it tanked to 29 recently. Bad news is my average cost is 47!
FONR trading like a dog. Demand could continue to pick up as Covid wanes and they could close more acquisitions, but the market seems to be valuing it as just a steady Eddie with modest growth potential.
CPPMF running again today. Looks like selling pressure may be over. I sold some trading shares and bought more FRD in the 12s
FRD Out at 10 recently and now back in at 13. Not exactly the best trading but still see significant upside here.
JWB CPPMF didn't make your list as a copper producer?
SNFCA .61 annualized at a 5 PE is 12.20. In this PE inflated market it seems like it should be worth at least that even recognizing the cyclicality of the mortgage business and the fear of higher interest rates.
OT Unless there"s an unforeseen event, I think filing on the last day doesn't reflect well on management. If they're waiting until the last minute to gets things done, how proactively are they otherwise driving the company forward?
Thanks Nelson.
Thanks for the perspective Nelson. Where would I find company earnings reporting date history?
SNFCA waiting until last minute to report. Not the best sign.
CPSS--A solid but not spectacular report IMO. Looks like next Q setting up well
CCEL Weirdly the PR seemed to have the reverse effect until later in the trading day. They licensed a lot of IP from Duke so I'm guessing/hoping this is the first of many. Good to see them being more proactive with this PR.
My earnings roulette ended up better than it started. I sold CTHR in 3.50s and FRD in low 10s and put it in AVNW in the low 32s and a little more in BBGI at 2.85. First BBGI reported and it tanked but recovered to 2.75 after hours yesterday. Then AVNW reported and it tanked but recovered back to low 32s yesterday where I sold. Then CTHR reported and it tanked. It could recover more next week but I doubt it sees the 3.50s for a while. FRD up slightly from where I sold. So I ended almost break even on 3 "bad" reports. I want a position in AVNW and am thinking I can reestablish one next week in the 20's.
Hi Skillz-
I only can see post #10 and #11 on this Board both on my laptop and phone. Anyone else reporting any issues or just me? At a minimum please let me know by reply private message if you received this so I know you'll receive my picks when I send them.
CPSS moving up prior to earnings this week in today's market down draught. Hope the buyers know something.
BBGI I also increased my position here leading into tomorrow morning's earnings. It seems like they're well positioned to announce a good quarter and some bullish guidance.
Sold all my FRD and CTHR today and used proceeds to restart a position in AVNW leading into earnings. FRD won't report for a while and may retrace before then. CTHR feels risky into earnings given steep runup compared to AVNW which has declined 25% from its high in early April. Feels like I've locked in profit and lowered downside risk but realize I'm playing "earnings roulette".
DMTK spiking premarket. Don't know why.
CPPMF Market responding well to earnings. I just realized their EPS of .18 is in CAD so more like .14 US. Still cheap for a fast grower but not as cheap as I was thinking.
CPPMF running into earnings on Monday. Still think it's cheap so am holding longer term even though tempted to sell some today.
CPSS 4.23 Perking up this week in a down market. Consensus earnings are .23 for the March Q for huge YOY increase. Seems cheap to me.
CPPMF 2.69 strong today with copper price up and Q1 earnings to be announced 4/26 before market opens. They earned .10 last Q and should report a strong sequential increase. It's a 10x from 52 week low but still cheap IMO and a good play going into earnings.
BBGI Weird that it has spiked several times in after hours without much follow through the next trading day.
SNFCA Added more yesterday. Should have waited until today. Skillz, curious why this value play in the financial sector isn't attractive to you.
SNFCA Every rally met with selling pressure. Wonder who would be motivated to sell here at trailing PE under 4. We appear to be in another housing boom so think their mortgage business will be strong for quarters to come.
AVNW--Sold some over 80. Any thoughts on fair value?
HIL Sold for a modest gain. My own political views aside, it seems very unlikely to me that the infrastructure bill will get through Congress with no anticipated Republican support given the filibuster, no margin to lose any votes from Democrats and fierce corporate lobbying to prevent tax increase.
CPPMF Now that's some aggressive and specific forward guidance albeit long term. Think this one's a great long term hold unless they stumble on their execution or price of copper plunges in a global recession.
LMB With the backlog down (even intentionally) and guidance limited to the CEO's belief that business activity in their verticals will be "supportive", I doubt they'll be bullish with any specificity on tomorrow's call. Still, it's traded down so much recently I'll probably buy more if it trades down much tomorrow.
CPPMF Buying more here after 25% retrace from high. Copper price has declined some but should still put up monster earnings going forward.
Blindman--You may be too young to remember the adage: "The stock market climbs a wall of worry." It goes up over time despite so many reasons it shouldn't.
Thanks R59
LMB Roth recently recommended with $19 price target. Seems unlikely they would set an analyst up to fail by then coming out with bad numbers or weak guidance.
FTSI Did anyone file a claim for the class action settlement? Any idea how much per share you might get? I just realized I missed the filing deadline.
BBGI starting to percolate after hours.
SNFCA Friday afternoon is a weird time for buying spike on no news.
