Excellent question! I wish I knew the answer. In my twisted head it all boils down to Taasera. The parties have their last conference call this week. The next big event is the Markman hearing on August 16th. I believe there is big potential here. It could be amazing...but if it flops we are years and years away from anything real. If the company even survives.
They have plenty of IP sitting on the sidelines: Peregrin, additional Multimodal patents, IC Kinetics (probably will never see the light of day), Audio Messaging, SoundStreak, Deepwell, Koyo, Harbor Island Dynamic and EDI. They also just formed a new company Flash Uplink.
They can't seem to promote, update their website or bring cases to the courts...maybe Taasera is the tipping point we have all been waiting for...maybe not?
Let's see about Multimodal this week?
For what it's worth.... I'm guessing another Multimodal settlement next week.
And with the stock price you can see why they wanted 100 to 1 and not 50 to 1.
Thanks and good luck!
Synaphai,
Can I ask, what's compelling you to buy the stock?
Fidelity has a all or none option.
As I read it a majority of the claims were won by Quest. If you look at the court logs many claims were settled prior to the Markman hearing. Less than 5% of patent cases go to trial and it boils down to Markman hearings. Lawyers will argue the claim construction and Quest won parts of it. The parts Quest won can be monetized. The parts they lost can't be monetized. Going to trial is very expansive ZTE will cut their loses and settle prior to June 9th.
Whether there is money in that settlement has been the issue for the last 10 plus years.
ZTE's Markman is June 9th. Perhaps a settlement before that?
No clue on how the settlements will look. There is some decent life to the patents. Current filings from Quest just mention a percentage going to another source. I can't find what that percentage is.
Excited about the possibilities with Taasera.
ZTE has adopted most of the rulings from the Markman hearing. So a settlement seems likely at the end of June. The two others cases are younger but will probably move quicker now
I hope so. Whatever it is...it's not enough without filling the court will new cases. There's very little in the courts now and some are being pulled prematurely.
Perhaps Taasera will set a new tone?
10Q is out.
About a month after the Markman hearing Multimodal and Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd are settling.
Joint MOTION to Stay all Deadlines and Notice of Settlement by Multimodal Media LLC. (Attachments: # 1F Text of Proposed Order)(Fabricant, Alfred)
I believe so
I'd like to see a significant settlements pre or post Markman but ultimately they have to win. If they don't win there isn't much else to hang a hat on. Do or die.
Excellent!
Taasera has a lot of potential. I posted a bunch on it in the past. Lots of patents with life that are specific to a company's business. But the question is: What else is there?
Deepwell was purchased a year and a half ago --- Nothing!
EDI and HP ten months ago ---Nothing!
MML additional patents ten moths ago ---Nothing!
Audio Messaging settlements eight months ago ---No new suits ---Nothing!
Peregrin settled cases after 96 days and no new suits ---Nothing!
I can go on. They apparently have the money and IP but I don't think they have the structure. Their business model is bringing IP to the courts and they can't seem to do it.
And communication has been absolute shit!
After almost 25 years Taasera seems like the LAST big hope. A chance to break the CYCLE...
You probably won't see any of those three things.
Purchasing patents isn't the big issue. The big issue is getting the lawsuit into the courts. I reached out a few times on this issue...no response. In my eyes IP is losing value every day.
Of course, this can all be fixed with a big Taasera win but as Quest has said...it is not about home runs but more so singles and doubles
And the 10Q is due next week.
The way things look this company has all its chips on the Taasera suits. Markman hearing in August.
So far I gained a headache.
Iron hammer, though TD?
Anyway...I have been buying QPRC here and there. I think the Multimodal hearing went well and I'm excited about Taasera.
Thanks. Appreciate it!
Off topic.... tried to put in an order for QPRC today and TD Ameritrade said I can only do it through a broker?
Anyone else having issues?
There is a Multimodal vs ZTE Markman hearing in June...let's see what happens.
I just read the Multimodal Media vs Guangdong Markman. As a non-lawyer I think the outcome is very good.
I spent some time looking at the Taasera suits. I am very excited about the potential here! The six companies that Taasera is suing had 2022 revenue that was over 17 billion dollars. That’s one year revenue for patents that span 20 years. Companies are being sued with seven to 10 patents and the patents are specific to the companies’ main business. The Markman hearing is scheduled for August and I believe Quest is going to bring more companies into the lawsuit. I'm bullish!
Thank you! First Multimodal Markman hearing in the can. I think it takes a week or two for the judges ruling
I read it as Taasera will be suing more companies and bringing them into this lawsuit,
This is from Google
Usually a plaintiff decides when, where, and whom she or he wants to sue. In some cases a plaintiff may wish to join, or add, other parties after the start of the lawsuit. Proper parties and necessary or indispensable parties may be added while the action is pending.

# 3 Taasera Suits...
Minute Entry for proceedings held before District Judge Rodney Gilstrap: RELATES TO ALL ACTIONS: TELEPHONIC Status Conference held on 4/13/2023. Counsel announced attendance. Court proceeded with status conference re: (1) pending E-Discovery Order; (2) status of filing of answer on behalf of CrowdStrike; (3) Plaintiff's intent to join additional parties; and (4) additional new developments. Court intends to set the next monthly telephonic status conference for May 11, 2023. (Court Reporter Shawn McRoberts) (aeb)
I read it as Taasera is going to bring more companies into this lawsuit. Thoughts?

Correct.
Markman hearing this Friday for Multimodal.
The ultimate question is; can they get more IP in front of the courts?
Yeah there doesn't seem be much to get excited about. There is a bunch of IP (CXT, M Red, etc) that they will not move forward with.
The most interesting thing to me was Audio Messaging. Apparently they made money from those lawsuit... I'm guessing not a lot but made money. How is that not communicated to the shareholders?!!!
10K is out.
