Marijuana Stocks Are Seeing a New Boom Throughout the Industry
By J. Phillip -

There is no doubt that the cannabis market has been booming in recent times, but the past year or so has been instrumental in the development of the industry for the future. Some cannabis stocks have seen a growth of over 1,000%, leading many new investors to come into the space.
The research firm ArcView has stated that with a 33% increase in cannabis sales to almost $10 billion, the next 10 years could see that number going up to as much as $50 billion. This is a growth rate that is almost unprecedented in any other industry.
Polls throughout the U.S. have shown an overwhelming amount of support for the industry which has changed over the past ten years quite drastically. The current state of support for the legal cannabis industry is as much as 64%, which is almost double from where it was ten years ago. The market has also been changing dramatically throughout the world as Canada is currently in the process of legalizing cannabis recreationally by Summer of this year. The market in Canada could potentially become the first developed country in the world to have recreational marijuana legalized which is a huge step from any perspective.
Many have looked at the industry in recent times and seen quite a slouch of stock prices but there is a good explanation for this as well. Since the industry is largely driven on news at this point, many of the stocks react based on this speculation. With tumultuous news coming from left and right regarding legalization throughout different countries, many investors have been confused about what is going on in the market. This confusion is, however, beginning to subside as more and more people are becoming confident with the future of the industry. There are several reasons as to why the market has not been performing fully up to standards in the last month or so. These reasons include the aforementioned confusion as well as a series of halts from governments trying to legalize cannabis. The process behind legalization is quite complicated and thus takes time to fully work out before it can become a viable industry.
One of the largest industries within the marijuana market is that of the ancillary services being offered to the market itself. Companies such as Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) and the likes, are working to create the backbone of the industry, and are seeing large booms in their prices because of it. Since the current market on stocks that physically touch the plant is still in a confusing state, these ancillary stocks have been the safest option for those who don’t want full exposure to the market. This is not to say that full exposure is a bad thing but as any industry, it is more volatile than the second hand exposure to the market.
The world of cannabis has remained extremely positive for those who have gotten in and those looking to get in. In any market, there will always be ups and downs, but the next several years are poised to potentially be some of the largest that we have seen in cannabis thus far.

One of Congress’s leading proponents of marijuana law reform — a key Trump ally — announced he will soon be filing new legislation in line with the president’s pledge to support changing federal cannabis laws.
“I am extremely happy that President Trump has made perfectly clear that he meant his campaign promise to respect state laws with regard to marijuana. Now there should be no question in Attorney General Sessions’ mind about the president’s intention,” Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) said in a press release. “This is a fundamental issue of federalism and freedom, as state after state moves to take marijuana out of the hands of the cartels and place it in a competitive market where consumers can be assured of product safety. It also encourages more exploration of medical uses for cannabis, which has shown unquestionable promise in the treatment of multiple ailments and disorders.”
U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and White House officials announced late last week that Trump is in support of passing legislation to protect state cannabis laws from federal interference.

Senate Works to Legalize Industrial Hemp Nationwide
By J. Phillip -
Apr 18, 2018
?A new piece of legislation that would allow hemp to be legalized as an agricultural product is making its way through the Senate right now.
The bill was introduced to the Senate last week by the majority leader Mitch McConnell. After its introduction, the bill was quickly placed on the Senate calendar for Monday, April 16th. After the bill was introduced, something known as Rule 14 was put in place. This rule is a procedural move that effectively allows a bill to skip over the committee process so that it can quickly be brought to the Senate floor. Rule 14 guarantee's that it will be voted upon, it is a way to get something fast-tracked through what can sometimes be a long process.
The bill in question is known as the Hemp Farming Act of 2018. The act would allow the legalization of hemp, which until this point has been put on a list of controlled substances. Hemp would then be allowed to be sold as an agricultural commodity, which can then be used for a wide variety of products and goods.
McConnell recently stated that “By legalizing hemp and empowering states to conduct their own oversight plans, we can give the hemp industry the tools necessary to create jobs and new opportunities for farmers and manufacturers around the county.” Hemp has a large range of uses in everything from clothing to industrial uses and beyond. The new bill would effectively allow states to regulate the legality of hemp as well as giving researchers grants to study the plant in greater detail. While there are still many issues in the world of legalization for hemp and the cannabis plant separately, this move represents a step forward in breaking the mold of legalization. HMPQ "ROCKET TIME"
Hemp Farming is Making an Impact in The Marijuana Industry

The U.S. currently stands as the worlds largest consumer of hemp-based products, but with federal laws prohibiting the growth of hemp internally, we currently import as much as $100 million in hemp products per year. This number could be changing very soon as a new bill has entered the government that could potentially change the way we use hemp in this country.
The introduction of the Hemp Farming Act of 2018 by the Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell, states that hemp would be legalized as an agricultural commodity and would also be removed from the list of controlled substances. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but the potential that can come from this bill is astonishing.
This is not the first time that a bill like this has entered the realm of the Senate, but the majority of the time it has only led to stalling due to the fact that many in government do not see a difference between hemp and cannabis. Because of the new information showing that hemp has a massive amount of potential to create jobs and economic prosperity, the bill could finally see itself passing this time around.
The main issue that goes with hemp is the fact that it is very closely related to its illegal brother, marijuana. Hemp has however been around since the beginning of the country, being grown by many of the founding fathers. Fun fact, hemp was also considered legal tender back in 1631 until the 1800s, for paying taxes.
Back in the late 30s, cannabis was made outlawed as we know it now by the Marijuana Tax Act. Much of this was due to a large amount of propaganda being circled around, but this has been defeated by modern day science. The hemp plant is extremely different from that of the cannabis plant. For starters, hemp only has trace amounts of the chemical THC, which is what gets you high, and because of that any person using it to get high would have to consume an inhuman amount of the substance. Much of the drug war has been fueled by attempting to fight cannabis and not hemp although hemp has often gotten pushed into the mix.
The issue is that hemp is a multi-billion dollar crop around the world, and could potentially be worth as much as $17 billion in the U.S. according to one survey. There are many different uses for the hemp plant including consumption for health reasons, clothing production, hemp oil for cosmetics and many more. Hemp has a large amount of potential to change the clothing industry among others in this country as it is often cheaper and more durable than most other fabrics. Hemp fibers can also be used to make paper that is stronger and more environmentally friendly than most paper we have today.
Another interesting thing about hemp is that the inner fibers can be used to make low density, high absorbency plaster. The combination of hemp and plaster is known as hempcrete, which is as much as 90% less in weight than traditional concrete. Hempcrete also is virtually fireproof and allows moisture to pass through it reducing problems with mold and mildew.
The industry on hemp and cannabis is something that is just now seeing the light as new governmental policies are coming into place. The hopes are high that the near and not too distant future will be filled with products that are better for the home and the world. HMPQ "ROCKET TIME"

Is Cannabis Prohibition on Its Way Out?
By J. Phillip -
Apr 19, 2018
?The world of cannabis has been extremely lucrative over the past several years, but the issue of legislation in favor of the substance continues to be a widely argued over matter. A new bill being crafted by the Colorado Senator, Cory Gardner, could potentially change the way that the federal government interacts with states who have legalized cannabis. With reassurances from the President and several sponsors on the bill, it seems as though cannabis prohibition could potentially be on its way out.
One of the largest issues in the U.S. market on cannabis is from the Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions has made it very clear that he is a proponent of continuing the failed war on drugs. The government in the U.S. has continued to list the substance as a schedule I narcotic, meaning that from their standpoint, it has no use in the medical industry as well as a high potential for addiction. Both of these points have been heavily refuted in the past, but the government still stands by their opinion. Many studies have shown that cannabis is a viable treatment for a broad range of diseases, notably cancer, pain management, seizures and more.
Interestingly, a large amount of research has been done into seeing how cannabis could potentially treat opioid addiction and even bring the current crisis we are in with opioid use to an end. Researchers reported recently that cannabidiol in cannabis “interferes with brain reward mechanisms responsible for the expression of the acute reinforcing properties of opioids.” This means that cannabis could potentially block the effects of opioid use that makes it addicting in the first place.
All of these pieces of news are coming together to help paint a solid narrative as to why cannabis should be legalized. This is the point that Senator Gardner is attempting to make, which has been met quite positively in recent news.
The current state of cannabis in the U.S. has been extremely confusing to those involved. With the federal government working to fight against states efforts to individually legalize the substance, the battle has continued to be ongoing. Many states who have chosen to legalize cannabis have seen their tax revenues skyrocket, as well as a large amount of positivity coming from their constituents. All of these together should be a clear enough picture for the government to recognize, but nothing has officially happened at this point in time.
The state of California has been one of the largest breakthroughs in the cannabis industry. California has long been considered the home of many various political movements. Because of this, choosing to legalize the substance for recreational use has been extremely positive for the state. Not only has California reaped a large number of tax benefits from the new program, but many companies have in turn moved their operations to the Golden State to try and build larger businesses.
There are currently 29 states and the District of Columbia that have legalized the use of cannabis to some extent. Out of these states, nine including D.C. have legalized the use of cannabis for recreational purposes which is quite a large step in the right direction. Given that most of these states have seen a massive amount of success with the new industry, one would think that the federal government would take notice, but only time will tell. The hopes are high that as these industries are able to mature throughout the coming years, the population of the U.S. can continue to become more comfortable with the idea of legal cannabis, leading to some sort of nationwide legalization. Legal Cannabis Demand to Grow as California Sales Projected to Impact Market

A recent report by Arcview Market Research indicates that consumer spending on legal cannabis in North America is outpacing previous estimates. The report emphasizes that retail cannabis sales will grow 33% from 2016, to about $10 billion this year. The data published projects that by 2021 the legal cannabis market will reach a value of $24.5 billion and at a 28% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Arcview also stated that according to BDS Analytics' GreenEdge point-of-sale tracking service, the medical industry in California is already as big as the total markets in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon combined. Starting January 1st, California has started legal sales of cannabis products for recreational use.
A report by CNBC quotes MedMen CEO and co-founder Adam Bierman, who explains the current state of the industry, "There is so much excitement now around legalization nationally coming in Canada. There is so much excitement about the fact that California, Nevada, Maine and Massachusetts all legalized recreational marijuana... The Canadian public markets offer access to a lot of capital, with a lot of certainty and a lot of speed, and there is this appetite among global investors to invest in a U.S. play... Specifically, global investors want to invest in a U.S. play that has California exposure. Now is the time where it makes the most sense." HMPQ "ROCKET TIME"

HempAmericana Gears Up for Booming Industrial Hemp Export Market
NEW YORK, NY--(CannaInvestor Newswire – April 16, 2018) - HempAmericana, Inc. (OTC: HMPQ) (“HempAmericana” or the “Company”) is excited to announce that it has begun to actively explore international distribution partnerships as the Company gears up to take advantage of booming global demand growth for Industrial Hemp. The move comes as the Company nears the imminent launch of full-scale production activity at its new, state-of-the-art Industrial Hemp extraction and processing facility in Augusta, Maine.
Management believes that one major factor driving accelerating demand for Industrial Hemp exports from N. America to large international markets is poor domestic production in countries like Germany. Because of slow legal progress, Germans plan to support one of the fastest growing consumption markets almost exclusively on imported Industrial Hemp. According recent press, the EU’s largest economy expects to rely on imports to meet hemp demand for at least another decade.
That represents an enormous opportunity for new producers like HempAmericana. Canadian Industrial Hemp producers have already seen this surge pay off, with exports rising by 300% last year alone, driven by expanding demand from Europe, Australia, and South America.
HempAmericana CEO, Salvador Rosillo, commented, “This is one of the reasons we have moved so rapidly to ramp up high-capacity production activities early this year. Domestic demand growth is booming, but so is the export potential. We plan to be a major player on both levels, and to be the market leader in potency and quality along the way.”
