Can't wait, and thanks to this snow I can go in later to work and listen to the webcast!
Ill be all over that.
Obviously a discussion for another time, I just meant that im biased with news like that
$11.5? They must be expecting a massive by-back of shares lol
I'm amazed that we even finished above $50 this week. Emotions can change from joy to sheer terror with this thing with one simple news release.
I have a good friend of mine who owns a Vineyard in Sonoma. Beautiful area. I'm from Oregon myself. Very good Pinot area (and probably cheaper!)
Wow, wish we were having the kind of day BOX is having!
Looks like we may finish in the green today!
Think this board is big enough that if we start a rumor that UAL and AAL are merging that it'd spike the price enough for me to get out on top haha?
Though then again, this could be just someone muddling the water; though I'm notoriously anti-labor unions for this very reason.
Here's a link to that for those who don't have WSJ memberships

Even if it doesn't get picked up by the shareholders, "American Airlines managers are pressuring them to send out airplanes that need repairs and are unsafe." is not a good tagline for PR.
"American Airlines Expected to Beat Earnings in Q4"

That's a great headline!

Very true my friend.
Oldnick, I'm not good enough at picking companies up out of bankruptcy like AAL to allow this to be my only job haha.
My fiance and I have deliberated some about it but before recently all she knew was that I got lucky on a stock. She'd take about 10 seconds after coming home at night, assess my mood then say "guess American is down again today huh?" Haha.
I have this money earmarked for my lifelong dream of owning my own airplane. Now that we're engaged the logical choice is to sell some shares to put towards a down payment on a home or towards the wedding; but she knows better than to even insinuate that I sell it for any other purpose than its intended :)
"Drinks for everyone! Bartender just use my 5th distribution as collateral."
Next time you do shoot me a message, I'll buy you a drink

Look at those airline numbers today! Thank god I bought into that airline fund (FSAIX)!
By the way, any of you on the east coast? I know a few are Chicagoans. I'm in Virginia, would love to meet up someday
Ill raise my can of Budweiser to that!
You're killin' me smalls!
Haha we'll see what tomorrow brings. That pullback may just be delayed a day!
Haha King that made me laugh. It's all good my friend its just funny to watch the ebb and flow of emotions
You guys make me laugh lol. Last week when the price shot sub $50 this forum mirrored a society heading towards the apocalypse... yesterday you'd think we finally got that 5th distribution haha!
Definitely holding out for AAL
Strong pre-market today!
Chartist or fundamentalist, I don't think either is doing their due diligence without giving consideration to the other
Agreed king
Couldn't have said it better myself Ralph. You know who went broke when the market fell in 2008? Only those who sold.
27th or 28th
Why would that be the FAA's decision to make?
King, I distinctly remember that if you would have followed your "gut" you would have sold far below where we are now!
About the only good I can make of this situation is that if oil continues to drop and margins can increase, the low earnings estimates will be blown out of the water.
Flying on AAL this morning, the gate agent wouldn't accept my stock certificates as a boarding pass this morning. I'm shorting them when I get home! Haha
Good luck and thank you! It wouldn't surprise me but I'm not buying fluff shares so I hope not!
Thanks Ralph!
I concur. I think the market is way too complex to make accurate generalizations regarding what news/info is priced in
Sure, but how do you think the wage increases will eat into that? AAL isnt taking FULL advantage of the increased margins, they are using it to also offset increased costs
