Hopefully SCMI will go to .001 so that we can hear from the faithful about how that is actually a good thing... remember, the lower it goes, the more upside there is.
"you ain't seen nuttin yet"
The lower this goes the more upside there is...
"You ain't seen nothing yet!!"
They don't appear to be a public company so of what value is this information?
"Don't think, feel. It's like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory." - Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon (1974)
mis-quoting Bruce Lee... now I know there is sacriledge here
No one here has been looking for anything "overnight"... the complainers (me) have been looking for the company to behave like ALL other companies do in order to attract real investors not wild speculators.
Unfortunately as long as management refuses to comply with even the most basic corporate governance issues the upside to our stock remains severely limited... others on here have pointed out that we already have enough news to justify a much higher price than the measly .07 cents we find ourselves at and yet we can't seem to go higher... why is this then? I maintain it is exactly because we can't attract serious investors with real money to a company that on the surface has every outward appearance of a typical pink sheet pump&dump... sad because I don't believe we are that.
"a little rain falls"
Is that what you really characterize several years of misleading statements, false promises, failed opportunities and lack of due corporate structure as... a little rain?
The share price is irrelevant as long as it looks as if there is the opportunity to recover, but pray tell, what event exactly are you waiting upon that is going to send this higher?
Have you ever owned a stock before where you have to fight for every tenth of a cent but falls pennies on almost no volume? Why would you be afraid to short this if you were a hedge fund? The corporate structure alone shows this to not be a real company, not run by credible business people who can succeed. There is a reason other companies comply with being good corporate citizens and filing reports, creating transparency, keeping promises etc... its because thats what brings real investors.
Right now the only ones invested in Sunncomm are a bunch of rank speculators hoping to find a vein of gold in a mountain full of foolsgold and cow dung.
I foolishly believed our Grand Poobah and for that I blame myself, but that doesn't give him a pass on fixing the things that are wrong here and that other posters besides myself see... but anyone not singing the "We are the World" song in harmony is labeled a "basher"... I get it. Keep drinking the Koolaid.
they should release the audit, come clean on current situation, become fully reporting and go on a real exchange... thats what real companies have to do
You're wrong and I know that to be a fact
Sorry, I actually appreciate you culling stuff from other places I don't read and providing it here... I was just making fun of the eternal "rumors" surrounding this stock.
I still think the labels have an issue with Sunncomm not having enough capital to stay a float and I know MVSN is making this into an issue every opportunity they can.
Uni is still the rumor and supposedly soon... of course I was told by the SpinMeister that he was looking at a signed contract on his desk, last Dec.
Nice to see the pps up a tad, but it is still dismal at these levels and has more to do with corportae structure imo than competitive position in the marketplace.
As to the shorts on Qtig... there are people who bought shares that were naked shorted to them... they are entitled to recieve Qtig shares and yet those naked shorted shares have no rights. So how does this get resolved??
The answer is that the firm that allowed those shares to be naked shorted to you is going to make good on the dividend without ever telling you thats what they did.. ie it will be transparent... then the firms will go back after the parties who naked shorted them the shares in the 1st place, but with limited success at being made whole.
This will then make these same firms extremly gun shy to accept any future naked shorts on Sunncomm... one burned, twice shy. This process will begin approcimately two weeks from the date that investors begin to make their claims for shares... this should also engineer a run on Qtig shares, which is why I already own a bunch.
Good luck to everyone... the next three months will prove pivotal.
I've just heard from a very* reliable source that:
"MediaMaxDVD™
Phase II of patent to be announced soon for MediaMaxDVD
Q4 estimates to follow
EMI Group to announce deal with Sunncomm
Geffen to announce deal with Sunncomm
of course I don't want to start any rumors...
Now that I will agree with... spend the time to file the audit, become fully reporting and get to a real exchange instead...
I smell news...
seems fair & balanced
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/27/sunncomm_death_or_glorry/
Sorry... this will never... I repeat, N-E-V-E-R, be $10 a share in this lifetime.
If you see $1, feel like you hit the lottery and cash out quick
Aren't both companies u mentioned fully reporting, with revenues and profits?
Trust me when I say I have laid a very large bet on Sunncomm succeeding so I would like nothing more than to see that happen... however, I placed that bet back when I believed what the Svengali meister was spinning. Since I no longer believe a single word and yet this remains the ONLY source of info on how the company is doing, forgive me if I sound a tad jaded.
Roughly two years later and having averaged down until it hurts we sit at .07 cents. The only thing I can feel right now reminds me of the 6 months I spent in Levinworth.
I presently have more confidence in DarkNoise as a magic bullet for Cancer and believe this is the reason for our recent strength... but what the heck, it could be for CD's too I guess.
>> Two years ago I predicted $10.00 share and got laughed off the board. Seems possible now to those who had little faith a couple years ago. <<
4.5 billion market cap.. are u serious?
I'm hearing that the DarkNoise project may have had some unintentional spinoff applications... apparently it turns out that sound wavs, 180 degrees out of phase, have a profound effect on retarding cancerous tumor growth.
The delay in DarkNoise came as a result of a gag order from the FDA which is fast tracking testing into cancer cell retardation using optically tuned out of phase sonic sound wavs. In early pre-clinical trial results they are seeing nearly a 90% reduction in cell endema with a co-variance of less than .003!!
This may potentially have profound implications for gene cloning as well, so imo we could be looking at the next Merck here... but heck, who really knows.
SCMI is not loading up... there is NO share buyback going on and it's simply delusional to even imagine that that might be happening now.
I believe instead that SCMI is having difficulty closing the sale with some major labels not due to the product but in fact due to issues I have identified previously. Doesn't mean they won't get them, but every delay just gives Macrovision more of a chance to get back in the game and trust me, they are doing everything they can on their part to delay the adoption of MediaMax.
I do believe there is some short covering as well as some selling of shares that we gave away to various groups... such as for recommending us?? This stuff always comes back to haunt you.
If the price remains low into Dec, then watch out below as some take tax losses for tax purposes at year end. Personally I think we'll be nearer .15 cents than .05 by then, but who the heck knows.
Look for QTIG to be a pretty wild ride over the next week, both directions.
As soon as the ink is dry on the QTIG certs, folks will be selling them faster than copies of CBS's apology make the rounds at the RNC. Frankly if they drop to .01 it wouldn't surprise me at all... worthless.
>> I just hope if SCMI is for sale it's for $$ per share instead of pennies <<
Anything is possible in stocks as we saw in 1999, however with the number of shares outstanding it is unlikely imo that we'll ever see even a $1 pps. However, I would enjoy being wrong.
I think DarkNoise is dead.
Microsoft can't even get their core products to be secure from hackers, why would anyone on Earth believe they could develop copy-protection schemes that would work? Besides which, Microsoft has a wonderful reputation for delivering buggy software late... so yeah, I might worry about Microsoft by 2015.
Seems to me we're going to run out of sellers here pretty quick and start back up to the .10 range.
>> This message board appears to be pretty sane, <<
that's the crasiest post I've seen yet
Not to answer for him, but I suspect that like many of us, he chose to believe what he was being told by svengali managment and so when he invested, he truly believed in Sunncomm. It is only now, after promise upon promise, rumor upon rumor, disapointment after disapointment that his viewpoint now allows for the possibility that there is more going on here than Peter might have you believe.
Seems to me that he has gone from unswerving believer to realistic doubter, but I am sure he appreciates your investment advice... lol
The funny thing is that when anyone now questions the status quo here, he/she is told to hit the highway and sell their shares. Apparently true believers don't mind losing 90% of their investment.
I wonder how people will spin it if Macrovision announces they have EMI after all...
Personally I think we're going to be ok and Peter is going to come through with much of what he has promised for far longer than a year but then I guess I'm just one of those Stepford SCMI investors.
Microsoft has made no secret that they wish to dominate the DRM space... this is why, had we gotten DarkNoise to work, I always considred a buyout from MS as nearly a certainty.
Buyback?? The company has no money to buy pencils with, nevermind shares (about the same price).
I could and do believe we're seeing some capitulation from longs as well as some covering from shorts... SCMI remains very much a speculation.
Show me revenues
Show me on time filings
Show me a real exchange
Only then will Sunncomm drop off of the speculation page and become an actual investment...

Rumor from someone semi-connected... I don't necessarily believe it, just wanted some more feedback from the board. I think it is likely that MVSN succeeded in delaying EMI going full boogey, but I find it less credible that they somehow stole this from us... rumor also said MVSN beat us on price... again difficult to believe as I think Peter would just about sell his mother to land a label at this point.
Good luck to everyone, due to the decline in pps I think most shareholders are enjoying a healthy does of sckepticism regarding Sunncomms various schemes to "get shorty", "get MVSN", "get all of the record labels" etc.
I think we solidly have BMG for sure and as a result we also get Sony and iTunes... that could be enough all by itself.
anyone else hearing EMI went to MVSN... ??
Windows ME worked flawlessly for me, but then I go to rather extreme efforts to tweak every computer I build... sometimes it pays to be a nerd
>> Intelligent investors are calling it quits on the "dream". <<
Whata load of crap... there ARE no intelligent investors in SCMI... get it?
and that's a bad thing?
I believe I said before that MVSN efforts would be to delay the labels use of MM5 and that their "fluff" pr's were designed to aid in that effort... of course I was ridiculed
This is normal business in software and they all learned it from the master, Microsoft.
Contrary to the board, I believe today's PR is quite significant in that it shows Sunncomm is deploying scare resources in implementing this new service feature in multi-language. This would not be being done now if the world-wide rollout we were promised on BMG, were not in fact happening as I type this.
You can depend on MVSN to pull every trick to delay MediaMax5 while they act to bandage their own product offerring. Part of the reason the labels will listen is that they have to be nervous about betting on a company as small Sunncomm that may not be around (in their view) in a few years.
Not to beat a dead horse Peter, but this is yet another reason WHY the corporate governance matters in helping convince other large companys that it is a safe bet to risk going with Sunncomm... MVSN faces no such obstacle and that should be reason enough to comprehend my monotonous advice to you.
Congrats on BMG actually going woridwide as they promised they would... in my mind then this necessarily then means that Apple iTunes is being negotiated and that would/could be the PR to ignite this candle.
BMG is paying for copy-protection, so how much sense does it then make to allow iTunes to sell BMG songs (30% of their iTunes sales are BMG songs)with NO protection?
ANSWER: It doesn't.
I understood that BMG has already told Apple to play ball with Sunncomm or else... in this case that would mean iTunes licensing SecureBurn technology and as long as they are doing it for BMG songs, why wouldn't they offer this on ALL of their songs??
ANSWER: They would
Reasons for optimism abound and the price action I see is consistent with short covering.
The company still has to be run like a real company though.
You might want to wait for lower prices
LOL! I've never been negative on anything save for the corporate governance, and understand, I was given strict assurances by you- know-who when I began investing, that these issues, quite important ingredients for success, would be corrected quickly... tick tick tick.
It also was not mentioned that we would have massive dilution, though even that I can comprehend as they needed to fund the company... inattention to corporate governance standards however, I do not understand.
I've also witnessed the entire "get shorty" saga first hand and it's apparent our efforts could be better spent elsewhere. When you smell like bad cheese, deservedly or not, the rats(shorts) come runnin for a quick meal.
>> Sucker you don't have a clue!! You were the one talking about the short situation not to long ago!!! What happened change your tune again!!! <<
Nope, I'm not John Kerry thanxs. The shorts are real, the schemes employed to "get them" are not... does that clarify it?
The 5k walk down is done for accumulation purposes... either adding to a long position or covering a short one... I'll leave you to figure out which in this case.
Market Makers and Hedge Funds basically have no transaction costs... I suggest you become better informed as to the nature of the players in the penny market and their strategies. There are many good books on the subject, but trading from ignorance is not usually a recipe for success in this manipulated market nor in stocks like SCMI.
That is one of the main reasons I wished to see numerous things acomplished that I won't bore you all with yet again, so that we can escape this playing field and move onto the big leagues.
I've been accumulating QTIG in here the last few days.
>> these people that have shorted us for so long where(were) given a heads up that we are head to the AMEX. <<
Do you just make this shit up or are you really this hopelessly optimistic ??
We are NOT headed to the AMEX now. Perhaps sometime late next year.
I would expect to see something on Uni or EMI within the next few weeks. MM5 is ahead of schedule and will be deployed pre-Xmas holiday season.
I see a lot of talk about revenues... from Peter, "expect to be breakeven by July 2005"
Sept 24th is another "magic" date (supposedly) for shorts and the thinking is that they need to cover significant numbers of shares between now and then. I for one lump the short stuff in with the Lockness monster and UFO's, but that is what the company is hoping for.
half of that is me
Clear, concise & logical... very nice post
