Leif is quite correct. The Third Word/Colonialist model is to export raw materials cheaply and let the developed nations make the serious money by producing finished goods where the *real* added value lies. By engaging Native groups in all phases of developing the caldera, they are given real skin in the game. As I've said before, it is important that the Native groups battle the rich (mostly) white lodge owners being manipulated by the greenies. If the Natives are given a serious economic interest in the region and are treated with respect, that will happen. Dr. Briscoe knows this and he is executing methodically.

Any legit company that thought this is promising would be lining up to make a bid...

NAK wanted a JV, but JB correctly refused to sell the family jewels for a low ball price.

The bottom line is that NO legit company wants any part of this...

No major firm will pay for a jr. which hasn't demonstrated it's mineral reserves via an exploratory drilling program. That's what LBSR is taking major steps to accomplish before the end of the year in AK and AZ. If you think LBSR claims are good, go long, if not, then feel free to move to pastures which you deem greener. By the way, the environment for financing juniors is brutal now; it isn't specific to LBSR.

NAK has a plan, a plan that does not include briscoe.

I dare say, the opposite may also be true.

Which is precisely why LBSR trades for under 4 cents. You appear to not understand the characteristics of a speculative investment. If the assayed drill cores came back showing large proven reserves, LBSR wouldn't be trading where it is, nor would it be considered a speculative investment. Having said that, you either believe the ZTEM, caldera theory, geophysics, JB's experties, SRK, veggie samples... OR you don't. You obviously don't, which is perfectly fine. I'm sure you're on this board out of a sense of altruism trying to warn the naive innocents among us about losing our money.

"wants" are irrelevant. What matters are the terms and covenants stipulated into the loan agreement and the conditions of repayment. As long as there is no breach, NAK has nothing to complain about. By the way, is there such a thing as unrisky drilling for a jr. exploration company?

You say that with 0% certainty.

With respect to drilling in the spring at the earliest: JB has said (assuming NAK doesn't pay claim fees again) that 600K must be spent to pay the claim fees, but that would be waived if the fee monies are used for drilling. Therefore, there will be drilling before the deadline (this autumn I think). JB also indicated that according to the native Alaskans, winter is actually a GOOD time to drill in the caldera because of the permafrost, otherwise the ground is mushy and marsh-like which makes it hard to maneuver heavy drilling equipment through.
