Although having a sales backlog is important, we need to execute on these projects in order to regain shareholder confidence and that is happening now."

Clear Skies Enters Eastern Massachusetts
2011-09-14 06:00 ET - News Release
MINEOLA, N.Y., Sept. 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Clear Skies Solar, Inc. (CSS) (OTCBB:CSKH), a full-service national renewable energy provider has today announced their entry into the New England region's residential and commercial markets.
Due to the dynamic nature of the fragmented US solar industry, we must choose carefully which markets we enter. After diligently evaluating the Massachusetts market, we decided to enter this market utilizing the same model that was successfully executed in New Jersey. We expect our Massachusetts sales program to have a high level of success based on the stability of the MA Renewable Energy Credits (REC's) market. REC's are derived from the production of electricity via non-fossil fuel means. In Massachusetts, this gives each kilowatt hour produced a value of not less than $0.30 but currently a value at $ 0.52 on the spot market. This "floor" is slated to last for ten years adding a unique level of security to both private as well as institutional investors.
CSS test marketed the program for Massachusetts in August 2011 with positive results. Already CSS has signed contracts for over $1 million worth of projects in Massachusetts. "As we grow our sales force and our brand in Massachusetts, we expect this rapid pace of growth to continue. We look forward to tremendous success in this market due in large part to the REC market structure in Massachusetts which was designed with a price floor to bolster investor confidence by providing a safeguard against any major downturns in the market. Additionally, we will continue to seek out new markets and opportunities as they open up in the months and years to come," said Ezra Green, CEO of Clear Skies Solar.

"The Clear Coil will be made available to all industries where electrical sensing is required.
The XTRAX® monitoring device was specifically designed to reliably and accurately calculate the energy production of renewable electrical energy systems while maintaining a very low cost profile. XTRAX® in most cases can be installed in under 15 minutes and is the lowest cost solution that we are aware of in the market today. With the Clear-Coil, we feel this will put Carbon 612's XTRAX® even further ahead of the pack in cost and reliability."

United Solar Powers First Solar PV System on Soccer Stadium in South America
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- United Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD) (Nasdaq:ENER) and leading global manufacturer of UNI-SOLAR® lightweight, flexible thin-film solar modules, announced today that its solar laminates will be installed on the Pituaçu Stadium in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, marking the first solar photovoltaic (PV) system to be installed on a soccer stadium in South America.
United Solar is partnered with Gehrlicher Ecoluz Solar do Brasil, the installer of the solar PV system which will be featured on the canopy covering the stadium's grandstands. Gehrlicher Ecoluz Solar do Brasil is a joint venture of Gehrlicher Solar AG and Ecoluz Participações S.A. At maximum output, the array of UNI-SOLAR laminates can produce 238 kilowatts of power.
"We are very pleased to have been awarded this international tender. The participation of our suppliers such as UNI-SOLAR has been a great support in this project," said Ricardo da Silva David, Director of Gehrlicher Ecoluz Solar do Brasil.
The installation will begin in September with an estimated completion date of December 2011. The system is supported by power producer Coelba and the Government of the State of Bahia. The clean, renewable energy that will be generated from the building will help the Pituaçu Stadium achieve lower overall energy costs.
"United Solar is proud to be a pioneer in the application of solar technology in emerging markets. This is a perfect example of how UNI-SOLAR lightweight solar laminates can be integrated directly into a building for a cost-saving renewable energy solution. We see great opportunity for solar adoption in Brazil with its high average insolation and growing infrastructure investment leading up to the World Cup in 2014," said Steve Szamocki, Senior Vice President of Sales-Americas of United Solar.
"Gehrlicher has recently joined the rapidly expanding UNI-SOLAR Business Alliance Partner network. They are now trained and certified in the installation, operation and ongoing support of our laminates for commercial rooftop applications. Moreover, we are now collaborating on a number of projects in Brazil and the Pituaçu Stadium is just one example of the outstanding work our companies are capable of delivering to the Brazilian market," Szamocki concluded.
United Solar has more than 25 years experience in the industry of solar power generation, and is the largest manufacturer of lightweight, flexible solar panels in the world.
