You are probably right Fred... But with the technology at hand and the supposed ability of our back room... it never should have even been an issue. A cynic would say it is all part of a self inflicted wound pattern that EDIG seems to fall into. I'll bet Jobs and Co. wouldn't make this mistake. Again, I have no idea if the problem actually exists. I hope not.

I'm sure the last statement is true. It is not a hard number to top. I don't know... EDIG is the one that is supposed to understand this stuff. Was there a beta test? Was there any consumer input? Doesn't seem so but perhaps we are completely wrong and this is a none issue. Then again...

If this is such an 'elegant'file handling system, why not make it completely bug proof and user friendly? Firmware squirmware. These types of fubars have a tendancy to follow EDIG products around. Ask me if I'm surprised...

I ordered mine(his)12/4... He is in Montana and on a trip to Oregon this w.e. Chances are he got it, but I haven't heard any "Thanks Dad's" yet. Probably a non issue... FWIW... When they come up w/ an easy snap in inter face with my home system, I'll get one for myself. I must say for home and auto use, an easy hook up and voice nav would be so sweet. I think all will have it next year w/ 100g CD quality units. But, as always, WTFDIK? Thanks for your reply...

Gil:I can really support that logic... In fact just after the the '01 SHM and before the '02 CES, I agreed to the extent of Mucho mucho mucho shares. The news was good. A new 20 million shares was in the works to give us lots of cash needed to close those big deals that were( oddly enough) just around the corner. I was long, strong, loud and proud! By the the afternoon of SHF '02, I had to go hit the flask to fight off the urge to turn Fred and Robert into hoof jelly. $2.6 million quarter turned into a couple hundred thou... Does any of this ring a bell? Anyway, your plan is a really really good one. Maybe this round of shelf paper, guidance and prospects will turn out somewhat better. We'll see... Meantime I have been able to make back almost half of the loss from '01/'02 just watching the bumps and playing FF's little newsy wewsy game. I doubt that will happen next time. I think if it does run, the urge to get even and get out will be overwhelming to many. Actually moxa1... We GET money. Making money means turning a net profit. While that is certainly possible on operations(at some point)it doesn't recoup the tens of millions sunk into the company. The way to get the highest and best return and see steady growth(IMO) is to hand the keys to some professionals. If it looks good with Fred and Robert in the irons, imagine what might happen should a man of true skill and strong reputation step into their place... I want EDIG to succeed. I just think they are short handed. Very short handed...

I think some sort of formal notification was required re: S3 etc. Tommorrow is a deadline to put that piece in order as I understand it. The rest of it could have been left unsaid. Surely all of this stuff didn't just bloom a few days after the SHM. It was a grab bag of possibles and soons all covered by a all encompassing cya statement. The stuff about all the rest was just to make the medicine go down easier it seems. Not a bad move mind you, but hardly anything here that is real at this point. Actual results are months away. As to institutional investing, they'd be much better served to sign an NDA with a commerecial bank and get these shylochs out of the picture. If these po's are really there they can be capitalized. Very well stated Joe... balanced, reasonable, hopeful yet cautious. I concur completely. If there is major news on Thursday, just buy some on Friday. This stock is hidden on a small bb exchange. Any big money that may chase this will be a few days /hours behind the pack. That's why they have big money. It's all good.

I agree and... This generation of DAP's is a stepping stone to what will happen soon...maybe sooner. That is a feature rich 100gig library head that approaches CD data density and plugs into the car and home units. Click! For home use there will be a remote w/ it's own mic. Large CE and telematics will agree on a size shape and interface standards and all this blah blah will be about as relevant as the puck. We will have to wait because they will want to extract as much money from the market as possible first. We already see that DAP's are becoming commodities, much like computers. When this time arrives, perhaps an EDIG will be able to set itself apart. Until then...well we'll see won't we. Good luck to all here.

Mark me down as one who... thinks that EDIG will get no labeling of any kind, any where, on anything that Gateway sells. That is the nature of oem business. The seller wants branding...period. If I was Waitt, I would not want it. Just my take...

I gotta run but... before I leave for the day I have some thoughts that are troubling me. I am seeking help. So... to be able to put some brackets around the near term and midterm effects of the Gateway deal, two things are all important seems to me. How many units will be sold and what does this company NET per. From that we get a Revenue number devided by time and a reasonable cap of the true underlying value. That is the value that any real money that might want to look at this as a real company, will need to understand. None of us know the answers it appears. I would love to borrow on this group's collective expertise, and come up with a loose consensus on these variables. I seems...well... important. Gotta go habla with the yardboys. I would tend to agree. It is too bad that the unit didn't sell on it's own merits. Who knows? Maybe the terms of the royalty stream call for 180 days or something. I still don't know who is doing the manufacture of the Gateway version. No ideas?

If that is the case I wonder why and I wonder where our royalties are for the mpio100 worldwide. It seems odd to me that a little design house in Poway, would be telling one of the world leaders in DAP's, how to build a player. Now, they might have gone down a check list of what to leave in and what not to but... design it? And get "ownership" of that design? And if they do own the design, and if the mpio is the same device, where are all those worldwide royalties? Now understand, I'm not raking muck here. Really. I'm confused. And while were at it, this all plays into the question of who the heck is actually making the Gateway unit. I'm sure I make little sense... help me out.
