FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eternal Image, Inc. (OTC:ETIM.PK - News), a public company engaged in the design, manufacturing and marketing of licensed image brand name caskets and urns, today announced it has now reserved and is designing an all-new exhibit booth for the 2007 National Funeral Directors Expo. The show will be held in Las Vegas from October 7 to 10 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
"This will be the first year we will be able to display our own booth on the show floor and we are thrilled that we will have a significant presence," said Clint Mytych, president, Eternal Image. For many it will be the first time they will be able to see some of our newest products - such as the Precious Moments® urns and the Major League Baseball(TM) caskets - in person, and we are excited at the prospect of reaching people at the show."
The 20' x 30' booth will be located prominently near the main entrances to the exhibit hall. Bush signs Iraq spending bill By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer
52 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - President Bush signed a bill Friday to pay for military operations in Iraq after a bitter struggle with Democrats in Congress who sought unsuccessfully to tie the money to U.S. troop withdrawals.
Bush signed the bill into law at the Camp David presidential retreat where he is spending part of the Memorial Day weekend. In announcing the signing, White House spokesman Tony Fratto noted that it came 109 days after Bush sent his emergency spending request to Congress.
Bush had rejected an earlier bill because it contained a timetable for withdrawing troops. His signature on this measure, however, doesn't end debate on Capitol Hill over the administration's war policy — a dispute that will heat up again this fall.
"I think the president's policy is going to begin to unravel now," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record), who expressed disappointment that the bill did not force an end to U.S. participation in the conflict.
Democrats say the drive to bring U.S. troops home is far from over.
"We're going to keep coming back and coming back," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel (news, bio, voting record) of Illinois, chairman of the Democratic caucus.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (news, bio, voting record) predicted a change, and said Bush would show the way.
"I think that the handwriting is on the wall that we are going in a different direction in the fall, and I expect the president to lead it," McConnell sid. "In other words, I think he, himself, has certainly indicated he's not happy with where we are. And I think we are looking for a new direction in the fall."
The president applauded the bipartisan effort to get an emergency supplemental bill to his desk by the Memorial Day recess.
"This effort shows what can happen when people work together," Bush said after visiting wounded troops earlier at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. "We've got a good bill that didn't have timetables or tell the military how to do its job, but also sent a clear signal to the Iraqis that there's expectations here in America ... about how to move forward."
McConnell also emphasized that the Iraqis need to make progress. "We've given the Iraqi government an opportunity here to have a normal country. And so far, they've been a great disappointment to members of the Senate on both sides," he said.
The war spending bill provides about $95 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through Sept. 30 and billions in domestic projects, including more than $6 billion for hurricane relief. The House voted 280-142 Thursday night to pass the bill, followed by a 80-14 vote in the Senate.
Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) both voted against the bill.
"I fully support our troops" but the measure "fails to compel the president to give our troops a new strategy in Iraq," said Clinton, D-N.Y.
"Enough is enough," Obama, an Illinois senator, declared, adding that Bush should not get "a blank check to continue down this same, disastrous path."
Their votes continued a shift in position for the two presidential hopefuls, both of whom began the year shunning a deadline for a troop withdrawal.
Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), a GOP presidential contender, said the two Democrats were embracing a "policy of surrender."
"This vote may win favor with MoveOn and liberal primary voters, but it's the equivalent of waving a white flag to al-Qaida," said McCain, R-Ariz. MoveOn.org is a grass-roots anti-war group that rose to prominence in last year's elections.
Thursday's legislative action capped weeks of negotiations with the White House, which agreed to accept some $17 billion more than Bush had requested as long as there were no restrictions on the military campaign.
In the months ahead, lawmakers will vote repeatedly on whether U.S. troops should stay and whether Bush has the authority to continue the war. The Democratic strategy is intended to ratchet up pressure on the president, as well as on moderate Republicans who have grown tired of defending Bush administration policy in a deeply unpopular war.
The Senate will go first when it considers a defense policy bill authorizing $649 billion in military spending in 2008. The proposed bill, approved this week by the Senate Armed Services Committee, cut $12 billion from the administration's $142 billion war-related request to fund other programs, including an increase in the size of the Army and the Marine Corps.
The most critical votes on the war are expected to be cast in September, when the House and Senate debate war funding for 2008. The September votes probably will come after Iraq war commander Gen. David Petraeus tells Congress whether Bush's troop buildup plan is working. Also due by September is an independent assessment of progress made by the Iraqi government.
Nice Post, thank you and a safe Memorial Day to you!

It's not just about dads and grads
Plenty of other good reasons to visit MLB.com Shop
By Mark Newman / MLB.com
This is the time of year when everyone will hear about "Dads and Grads" as surely as Ichiro Suzuki will get on base and Tom Glavine will work the corners.
That's a routine play in the marketing business. Here in The Show, we go after the baseball like Jordin singing "This is My Now." It's still about "Dads and Grads," but we're wearing plaids and we've got a few adds. Consider:
Dads. Major League Baseball will celebrate fathers on June 17 in various ways, such as its annual prostate cancer awareness fundraising campaign at each home ballpark and various examples of pitch-and-catch opportunities with fathers and their children on the MLB fields. If you're looking now for a truly original Father's Day gift, order something from the MLB.com Shop such as a 2007 All-Star Game item, a Tiffany-style yard stake or a pitching machine to save wear and tear on his arm.
Grads. Giants infielder Kevin Frandsen will graduate from San Jose State with a degree in business finance on Saturday, but most of the mortarboard attention around baseball will be on the upcoming First-Year Player Draft. Josh Vitters will graduate June 18 at Cypress (Calif.) High School, and before then, he is expected to be taken in the top four on June 7. He is considered the top bat in this high school-heavy Draft, and likely to go to the Cubs or Pirates.
Shopping for a grad who's going somewhere? Consider a business card holder if it's time for the real world, or something extra if you just bought him or her a new automobile.
Vlads. You know summer is coming if Vlad Guerrero is among the statistical leaders, and that's just one good reason to buy a T-shirt or cap at full price from the MLB.com Shop by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday and take 50 percent off a second one of equal or lower value. For starters, consider the exact 59FIFTY cap model that Vlad wears for the Angels, and a Vlad Hardball Country name-and-number tee from Nike.
Lilly Pads. We found one at Wrigley Field, where Ted pitches.
Fads. One of the best fads ever was the Astros' rainbow jersey, and you can buy one signed by the great Nolan Ryan himself. You never know when that Bobblehead Clock or Orioles Team Message Fan is going to become a "remember when" item years from now.
Ads. Baseball and Madison Avenue have gone hand-in-hand for generations. It's the CITGO sign high above Fenway, the giant Coca-Cola bottle in San Francisco, and those Chevy pickups above the wall in dead-center at Comerica Park. It's those now-quaint ads that announcers used to have to say on those Baseball's Best Classic Radio Broadcasts, and that VOTE ad around MLB.com reminding you that you have up to 25 online ballots to cast for the Midsummer Classic.
Erstads. "I don't care if we win by one or a lot, or score one run or eight runs," Darin Erstad said after his three-hit game Monday against Oakland. "It doesn't matter. Just win the game." It's still hard sometimes to get used to Erstad as a White Sox center fielder after all those years with the Angels, but he sounded a lot like a Grinder right there, if you're a Sox fan, and he's been heating up at the plate.
Mads. It's how you feel when someone outbids you for one of those Jackie Robinson Day Jerseys. But just bid on another because these keep showing up in the MLB.com Auction and all proceeds benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
Brads. It's OK to miss Brad Radke if you're a Twins fan. But which Brad is the best among active Major Leaguers? It's probably Penny, who is 6-1 after his start Wednesday for the Dodgers against Milwaukee. Hennessey has a 1.00 WHIP in 17 appearances for the Giants. Lidge-to-Ausmus can still be a tough AB for a hitter, and Rockies and Rangers fans would like to see even more production from Hawpe and Wilkerson, respectively.
Ciudads: Desde San Diego hasta Miami, siga a su equipo favorito con LasMayores.com.
Chads. Gaudin was 4-1 with a 2.58 ERA and 1.23 WHIP (40/19 strikeout/walk ratio) in the A's rotation. Qualls has been effective in the Astros bullpen, with an 0.97 WHIP and 18 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings. Cordero has most of the billing in this category, but has been a little iffy so far with a 3.54 ERA and 1.82 WHIP and just five saves for the Nationals. Billingsley has been a little better for the Dodgers, with 28 K's in 23 innings of relief. Top honor probably goes to Tracy, who started the season slow, but had his average up over .300 for the Diamondbacks.
Sads. That feeling when your team is in last place.
Glads. Knowing the season is barely past the one-quarter mark.
Bads. Any Bad News Bears videos can't be all bad.
Lads. Sorry, Liverpool, there was no comeback this time. AC Milan won the Champions League final Wednesday in Greece, defeating the English lads, 2-1, behind two goals by Filippo Inzaghi for its seventh European Cup title. Yes, we Major League Baseball fans sometimes notice the world around us.
Pads. English pronunciation forbids us to mention San Diego's baseball team here, but we found Memory Company Team Note Pads galore. A number of teams offer Fanfoto capability at the ballpark, allowing you to put the image on a mouse pad. And, of course, there are Barry Bonds' armpads, which make some glad and some mad.
"Dads and Grads" ultimately will get most of the attention in coming days. They always do at this time of year. But just those two? Can we work in some salads while listening to ballads?
Egads.
Lots of sitting.... No change around the stocks so far this week. Thats okay cause stocks always change.
