PP, here is email reply I received
Rick,
I know you realize there can be a number of factors that affect the reasons behind why a stock drops in its pps, so this is only one attempt to attribute what the selling pressure can potentially be.
Shortly after CHID announced its Q1 results, one shareholder I spoke with was dissatisfied with the 9.5% revenue growth the company experienced. His perception was that the quarterly growth would be in the 100% plus range.
Perhaps some of the investors who bought into CHID back in late april when it was in the $0.50 range also feel similarly and have gotten out to reassess their investment.
Regards,
Ken AuYeung, Hawk Associates Inc.

What I see when I watch the trades go through on times & sales data are HUGE blocks being thrown at bid. There has been some speculation on Ihub of what it may be from, and I've included those posts here just for info only:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=11459766
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=11472221
At this point I'm watching again, having exited at break-even just to be careful.
CC
PP, I emailed IR at CHID
and basically asked the same question. If I get reply, I'll let you know of course.
It's amazing how the big block volume came in first thing this morning and sold it down to .60 and slightly below. Then low volume for a while, and then it walks back up on low volume. Almost like a set-up for another round of heavy volume to take it down again.
It's just perplexing to me at the moment... which is the job of the MM, right ;)
CC
PP, on CHID, what do you make of all the large blocks going thru to bid. That's a lot of volume that looks like it is being unloaded. Any thoughts?
CC
OT: PP,

Looking to break that hourly downtrend line soon. Already broke steep downtrend line on daily. Looking to break 9 day EMA too.
CC
OT: PP, do you have any thoughts on
EGHT? It's the only dog I have, and the only one I didn't cut loose right away when it dropped from my entry this past January. I'm actually down about 30%
The earnings last week were in-line and expected. No problems arising there. It seems the market is really negative on VOIP right now.
The yahoo board has been in full control of bashers 24/7 for the past 6 months. I rarely stop by to read that board, but there is certainly a contrarian interest there. Many shorts have a vested interest in ceaselessly pounding this stock down. That interest alone indicates at some point a reversal will happen. The problem is I don't know the hedgies agenda, and it's tough to compete against them.
At this point, I could see some capitulation and many eagerly waiting on the sidelines for that day to enter.
So I was wondering what your thoughts were on VOIP or on EGHT as a "pure play" on VOIP. Any hope here?

OT: PP, bought some CHID today

8x8 Announces Fourth Quarter and Year End 2006 Results
Thursday May 25, 8:00 am ET
Reports Double Year-Over-Year VoIP Lines and Near Triple Year-Over-Year Revenue
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT - News), provider of Packet8 broadband voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and videophone communications services, today announced financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.
Total revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006 were $10.3 million, compared with $8.5 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2006, an increase of approximately 21%, and $3.9 million for the same period of the prior year, an increase of 164%. The net loss for the quarter was $6.6 million, or $0.11 per share, compared with a net loss of $7 million, or $0.14 per share for the same period last year.
Total revenues for the year ended March 31, 2006 were $31.9 million, compared with $11.5 million for fiscal 2005, a 178% increase. The net loss for fiscal 2006 was $24.1 million, or $0.43 per share, compared with a net loss of $19.1 million, or $0.43 per share for fiscal 2005.
As of March 31, 2006, the Company had approximately 133,000 activated Packet8 subscriber lines in service, compared to 113,000 lines on December 31, 2005, an 18% increase. The Company reported that its subscriber lines have more than doubled over the 57,000 lines in service at the end of fiscal 2005.
At the end of fiscal 2006, 8x8's balance sheet included cash and investments of $23 million, a decrease of $4.7 million from the $27.7 million held at December 31, 2005. The cash burn improved by $1.3 million as compared to the $6 million burn during the quarter ended December 31, 2005, which excludes the effects of $14 million of net proceeds received from the December 2005 common stock offering. The cash burn improved primarily due to reduced inventory expenditures and the elimination of one-time nomadic E911 emergency calling compliance costs incurred in the third quarter.
"Quarterly revenues exceeded $10M for the first time in eight years, a significant milestone in the Company's rebirth as a pure play VoIP service provider," said Bryan Martin, 8x8's Chairman and CEO. "Our subscriber base across all Packet8 service categories -- residential, small business and videophone -- has also grown substantially, more than doubling since our prior fiscal year end. We are pleased to report our ninth consecutive quarter of increasing top line revenues and an improvement in our bottom line for the fourth quarter."
Mr. Martin continued, "Our Packet8 service features and pricing remain highly competitive, in large part, due to the lower cost base associated with the ongoing use of 8x8's technology for both the service delivery platforms and the customer premise equipment. In particular, our Virtual Office VoIP- hosted small business phone service has gained significant market acceptance, setting sales and subscriber records on a monthly basis. With its robust feature set, ease of use and low monthly service fees, Virtual Office is an ideal solution for cost-conscious small and medium-sized businesses interested in cutting telecommunications costs and enhancing productivity with VoIP services."

PP, or T4$, either of you have any hope for some pop yet this year on EGHT?
I bought some EGHT back in January. Smallish position, and it's the only position I decided to hold once it dropped out on me... figuring sometime in next 6 months I'd get a chance to bail.
CC
OT: PP, I have the CHID chart up on my hot list, but I've been hesitant to buy anything in this market downtrend. So much stuff keeps getting cheaper.
The world indices all red today... who knows what tomorrow will bring. I check Ihub boards regularly, just haven't had much to say.
CC
OT: PP, what a day for
CHID. Still watching. I wonder what the market didn't like about today's 10Q?
Was the year over year growth not enough? That might not be the reason since the projected revenue is still at 30 million based on the acquisitions.
Was there disappointment that the acquisitions are scheduled to close during the summer, and people may have been expecting it sooner? The Apr 18th PR stated they'd "close in near future." That could possibly be a reason, I don't know.

this daily chart for CBMX?

I've been watching it closely as it trades, and it is a tricky one. It moves up explosively with buying volume, and then falls on low volume selling.
The hourly chart has been consistently making these little W bottoms. Especially when MFI hits oversold on it.

Lots of potential here.

CC
PP, I was planning to add to CHID this morning but waited.
This is great. Do you have any advice for timing on when to add now? Really powerful move today.
CC
Thanks PP, I joined you here in CHID today.
CC
Congrats PP, btw my sister had a GTC order set the day I asked you about GIGM. She had it set long ago at 7.80 and it filled that day where there was heavy volume last 10 minutes seeing 7.99 print.
So when I forwarded your reply to her, she checked her account, and a few days later told me it had sold. She's very busy always flying on a plane for business etc.
I'll still keep an eye on GIGM for pullback entry for myself.
CC
Hi PP, thanks for the link to this board
Just noticing how GIGM keeps making new highs, and was wondering about outlook for the stock now.
My sister has shares from $3 and I have been keeping an eye on the stock occasionally for her. Obviously this is one stock I should have gotten into again. I almost bought back in at 2.99 earlier this year in January. I originally had shares back in 2004, and forgot about GIGM for a long time, but my sister held all her 2004 shares.
I was wondering if she should sell now. But after reading the preceeding posts here, it looks like GIGM has a great future ahead.
Maybe I should consider buying some for myself instead for a long-term hold. Looks like the 20 day EMA may be a good entry point target.
CC
PP, I was wondering your thoughts on GIGM here
I don't have any, but my sister was smart enough to hold shares from 2004, and I try to keep an eye on GIGM for her. I see GIGM making new highs, and wonder if it's time for her to sell, or continue to let it ride?
She's in at $3.00
Thanks,
CC

I'm still in. Another long-tailed candle today that always seems like a shake-out afterwards.
News this morning about CLIA approval is significant but seems to be unrecognized as of yet. This CLIA approval allows them an advantage over competitors and allows them to access market opportunities ahead of competitors.
some snipped quotes from Q2 05 CC:
"CMDs first products will be bioinformatic products that will enable us to analyze the genetic characteristics of the cancer and the patient and provide answers to those three major questions. Currently there is nothing on the market which can comprehensively address all of these issues. We feel that this technology will revolutionize the way that cancer is treated and will enable us to save many more lives that would ordinarily be lost."
"These laboratory developed tests do not require FDA approval if they meet certain strict guidelines. First, the lab must be a CLIA certified laboratory. CLIA stands for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments and certification indicates that the lab is a highly sophisticated facility. Second, though the laboratory can purchase components from vendors it must develop, make, and run the tests itself. It cannot purchase a pre-developed or manufactured test from a vendor.
This is the key point I want to underscore in relation to our market opportunity. If a vendor wants to sell a pre-made micro array for a diagnostic application that vendor must first seek and gain FDA approval. Which can require significant time and cost. However, if a vendor sells components to a laboratory and enables the laboratory to build the array and perform the tests the test is covered under the laboratory developed test category and FDA approval is not necessary."
Most interesting is OPCO's position on the bid. OPCO played games today lowering their bid to 2.46 for most of the day, without getting filled. But once some volume started showing up OPCO began raising their bid. OPCO ended the day with bid of 2.60 where the price closed.
Technically, next week chart is set up for bullish crossover 50/200

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050404/cgm003.html?.v=4
My thoughts for this week:
up 9% Friday in a bad market day... up 8% currently today (Monday)
I'm figuring anticipation building in SP over expectations of Q2 guidance, Q2 sales.
From PR above, we already know Q1 revenues were 3.3 mil on 3 mil projected, and we already know of 1.5 mil backlog for Q2 as of 3-31.
So I'll be listening (on 4-20) for any additional update of Q2 sales beyond 1.5 mil backlog, and any guidance for Q2.
Also ISO usually records a loss every quarter, if this 1st quarter isn't a loss, then that'd be huge... but I think we already know/expect it is a loss based on 3.3 mil figure.
CEO Thode in PR: "...I look forward to sharing our bottom line results, particularly our cash flow results, at that time."
Also they're reporting Q1 (which just ended 3-31) on 4-20, earlier than usual by about 3 weeks, so that would portend to good news that they're eager to get out.
Last time it spiked to .50 it sold off in 1st 8 min of trading, so I'm sure traders will be on guard to bank any profits.

I can give my opinion
News article this morning said launch in July. I was under the impression that launch was still scheduled for last two weeks of April.
The updated timeline hasn't been formally PR'd yet by GTEL. That PR will happen tomorrow. It should address the launch schedule.
So my opinion is any delay in what was thought to be launch schedule will have negative impact.

Company to unveil prototype airship for communications relay
"The developers hope to fly it to an altitude of 45,000 feet in July, but first must deal with regulatory and flight safety issues, Coleman said."
I'm thinking it gapped down because of news articles stating launch in July.
No official word yet from GTEL on timeline. Last update from Huff said end of April.
I bailed because of bid/ask was significantly lower before market opened, and the news of July launch. I got in too early at .301 before the big plunge happened March 17... so I needed to protect whatever profit I had left.
