Thanks TR. If memory serves correct I've gone through all the PDFs and never did find anything (of substance, at least) specifically related to the KDS Micronex.
Not trying to beat a dead horse here TR, but there is nothing that I've read that suggests either was done or attempted. I would think with hundreds of thousands of dollars spent by the U.S. government that the results of any testing or product development efforts should have been released. Have I missed something here?
TR, regarding the ORNL research, it would seem to me the reason for including FASC would be for them to test a KDS Micronex for particle size reduction, or to develop a similar machine based on its principles. If either was done (or attempted), I've not read about it.
Hi Hongcouver, long time no see. Hope you are well.
Hi Matt, not sure if you've noticed this, so I thought I'd mention it. Sometimes apostrophes appear as quotes in the opening line shown on the board. Example: The FASC board has don't as don"t but if you open the post don't is spelled correctly.
Not nitpicking, and great site (I love it here), just thought you might want a head's up.
Understood TR, I just don't want to be a part of Dr. Womac getting a barrage of e-mails from other investors because Tech was good enough to let us know he responded to him.
Perhaps Tech, if so inclined, could follow up to see if Dr. Womac could share with him what study or studies he is referring to which support finer particle sizes.
It would be interesting if there is some KDS study that was done with ORNL/UofT/UBC which has yet to be released. All the studies you've posted in the iBox leaves me scratching my head why FASC was even involved in the research.
TR, I understand, however Dr. Womac suggested there were studies out there which supported "finer" particle sizes without specifically mentioning those studies. I would like to read such studies. TIML made it sound like he's read such a study, or studies plural. I figured I'd try to get out of him what he's claimed to have read.
Well that's great news, TIML...Are you able to share the source, by chance? Perhaps even supply the board with said scientific data either by linking us with a URL, or transferring it manually? Any such information would be greatly appreciated.
TIML, you sound very confident the KDS Micronex has proven itself to play an important role in the process of converting cellulosic material into ethanol, especially considering this statement you've made on another board here at i-Hub.
Good Morning :) Sounds like Oil prices are going to skyrocket from here on out into 2009 and if you don't like it start supporting the Green Energy/Technology Companies who are trying to make a cheaper and more environmentally friendly alternative. FASC is one of these companies, I have done significant research and have discovered there KDS Micronex machine has bridged the gap for ethanol production making it cheaper to make because of its mechanical pretreatement capabilities. Check out FASC: http://www.investinginstockmarket.net/index.php
My questions are these:
Are you going by scientific data you've read, or is this word of mouth information? If it is the latter, are you able to divulge the source?
What cellulosic material(s) is the KDS able to pretreat?
James, what research by MnVAP are you referring to? Thanks.
Thanks TR...I'm not sure why but you making it clear what Et-Oh meant opened me up to understanding the rest of the e-mail.
Tech, that is some of the finest DD I've yet to see on this board. Thank you very much. Now if only I knew what he was talking about...oh well, I loved what he said in his opening line about the KDS being very viable. Thanks again.
James, we do not know if the KDS Micronex is used in the ethanol process anywhere. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
gwho, I posted a reply to your post eariler, although I read your post wrong the first time and my reply probably did not make much sense.
You may know FASC has been getting developed a new website. I've heard this from both Cal and Brian, Cal told me this as early as mid-Feb. Due to Evision Holding's ability to produce a lot of websites in rather quick succession, I will assume there is something sensitive in the new website which FASC management does not want released yet which is delaying its unveiling. I am using guesswork (common sense, more like) Evision Holdings is responsible for the development of the new FASC website.
I would have liked to have seen the old website updated during this period of change, however (possibly due to financial constraints) this was not done.
TIML-I've taken the liberty of adding that site. EOM
I listened to (skipping through) the Bluefire Ethanol speech, caught nothing mentioned that would resemble the KDS Micronex. In describing their process, the CEO went directly to talking about the acid hydrolysis part, making no mention of a pretreatment step.
You can listen for yourself if you'd like, like I said I didn't listen to it in its entirety.

FASC, lots of DD in the iBox at the FASC board.
I know you guys are flippers but you could even go LTBH on this stock, IMO.

Charlie, the website in the works was paid for with restricted shares. It's my guess FASC's new website in the works is being built by the same person(s) who have created the WhyGreenNetwork. And it's my guess they transferred 25,000 shares to TIML to promote the stock. Just a guess, but I recall seeing a couple WhyGreenNetwork sites before I saw the MidwestConsulting website. And during that time I was doing a lot of FASC googling. I went through my posts, and I brought the board's attention to www.cellulosicethanolproducers.com on April 11. It was June 3 when I brought to the attention of the board TIML's website.
No Sam it's pure speculation at this point. eom
Sam, Bluefire is from California, their business model involves utilizing waste biomass in their process, and their process involves the grinding and drying of cellulosic material at the front end, although it is described as being done in two steps on their website:
Incoming biomass feedstocks are cleaned and ground to reduce the particle size for the process equipment. The pretreated material is then dried to a moisture content consistent with the acid concentration requirements for decrystallization (separation of the cellulose and hemicellulose from the lignin)...
http://www.bluefireethanol.com/technology/
From FASC's 10-Q:
This quarter we delivered one model S-8 machine to a biomass processing facility in California where it has been commissioned and is now being evaluated as a combination dryer /grinder of waste biomass for use in the green energy sector.

I wasn't sure how the addition of those sites would look in the iBox, I thought they might seem out of place, but as it is they don't. Thanks to you both for the good add.
OT: Happy Memorial Day everyone
This is not a pro-war post, or an anti-war post, I just thought you guys might want to know about the Multi-National Forces Iraq website. http://www.mnf-iraq.com
It might help shed some light on the on-going mission for those interested.
Jagman, do you think it was a buy then? The ask was at .025 pretty much all day but when that trade went through the bid was .025 and the ask .028.
Per Pacific Stock Transfer, the O/S has increased.

I don't like the smileys and am putting in my 2 cents that they should be done away with. Thanks.
Thank you very much, TR. EOM
Sam, my understanding is the Xcel funded research is slated to begin in June.
Why so many one liners?
If we can keep track of the O/S here, why can't the company?
From the 10-Q:
State the number of shares outstanding of each of the issuer’s classes of common equity, as of the latest practicable date: 198,643,955 as of May 19, 2008.
Meanwhile, from the iBox (and I'm pretty sure I got this number right when Pacific Stock Transfer gave it to me):
Authorized shares: 200,000,000
Outstanding shares: 199,232,195
Restricted shares: 10,160,740
Float: 189,071,455
The numbers above are as of May 6, 2008, per Pacific Stock Transfer. (Phone: 1-702-361-3033 • Fax: 1-702-433-1979)
Tech, I cannot wait to hear more about everything FASC has in the works. But, I am prepared to wait because it would appear to me as though FASC is waiting until they have all their ducks lined up in a row before they release the information on some or all of the ongoing projects.
By the way, you forgot to include Japan, and I am as optimistic about Japan as anything else. It makes me feel good when a corporation of 360 million U.S. in annual revenues (JP Steel Plantech) has been involved with the KDS Micronex for 2.5 years and has it listed as part of their company's plans:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://hp.rhp.jp/~steelplantec/kaisyagaiyou.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=4&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dkds%2Bplantech%2Bsite:.jp%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
Tech, those were Cal's words. eom
This is the company's new corporate number: (778) 298-8001. I got an email back from Cal saying there was a glitch at the phone company while they switched offices.
Now though, when you dial the old number, it is intercepted and the new number is given.

TIML, the pattern is 4 calendar days, not 4 business days. February 15th was a Friday.
