I find this process fascinating
It's been in use for years.
Alter NRG’s wholly owned subsidiary, Westinghouse Plasma Corporation (WPC), is a gasification company based in Madison, Pennsylvania that licenses and sells plasma gasification technology and products worldwide.
It's plasma technology was developed over a period greater than 30 years and with an estimated $100 million in Westinghouse R&D funding. The WPC technology was initially developed in collaboration with NASA for use in the Apollo space program to simulate space vehicle re-entry conditions of over 5,500°C (10,000°F).
Since the 1980s, the WPC technology has proven itself in various applications over several years in industrial facilities owned or operated by companies such as Alcan, General Motors and Hitachi Metals.
1989 - General Motors Defiance, - Ohio, USA - Metallurgical
1992 - ALCAN Jonquire, - Quebec Canada - Metallurgical
1995 - Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries - Kinuura, Japan - Ash Vitrification
1999 - Hitachi Metals, Ltd. - Yoshii, Japan - Waste Treatment & Energy Processing Demo Facility
2002 - Hitachi Metals, Ltd. - Mihama Mikata, Japan - Waste Processing & Energy Production
2002 - Hitachi Metals, Ltd. - Utashinai, Japan - Waste Processing & Energy Production
2009 -*Currently being commissioned - SMS Infrascturce Ltd. - Pune, India - World's Largest Commercial Gasification of Hazardous Waste
Hitachi Metals Environmental Systems Company (Yoshii, Japan)
Plasma Arc Gasification/melting of MSW (commercial/commercial scale demonstration)
After demonstration of the gasification technology for MSW at the pilot plant in Yoshii, Japan during 1999-2000, the Japanese government certified the technology for construction of a commercial size plant. The plant was completed in July 2002. This new plant uses primarily automobile shredder residue (ASR) as fuel with approximately 165 ton d-1 capacity but has been designed to run with a 50% mixture of MSW. It can also process approximately 300 ton d-1 of 100% MSW.
After commissioning, the plant was released to the customer for commercial operation in April 2003. In December 2002, the twin cities of Mihama and Mikata, Japan commissioned a MSW and sewage sludge treatment plant. Hitachi Metals Ltd. designed and installed this plant. It processes 24 ton d-1 of MSW and 4 ton d-1 of sewage sludge.
The RW Beck report for Honolulu (RWBeck 2003) indicates Hitachi and Westinghouse Plasma were co-developers of a MSW conversion plant in Yoshii, Japan. This ran at a scale of 166 ton d-1 so it can be considered commercial scale demonstration.

Launched phase 1
'Syndication Inc., (Pink Sheets: SYNJ), reports that McCutcheon Marshall Jr., President and Chairman of the Board for Pinnacle Energy Inc., the wholly owned energy subsidiary of Syndication Inc., launched phase 1; Bio-Diesel, of the Sentinel Renewable Energy program in South Carolina, (Sentinel Renewable Energies S.C. Inc.). The Company reports that the launch of the South Carolina 75,000 square foot Bio-Diesel facility is the first phase of a 3 phased commitment which includes wind and solar and was originally entered into as an LOI between the Companies 4 months ago in late March of this year."
Sentinel Renewable Energy program
(The formation of a company was needed to launch the first part of this program, and it's called SRE S.C.)
Are the two other phases also going to be in S.C.?
Or could it stretch out a bit...
Phase One: Bio-Diesel...(SRE S.C.)
Phase Two: Wind...(maybe SRE N.C.?)
Phase Three: Solar...(maybe SRE MD.?)
"shares advisory board"
shares as in ‘they both have’ not shares as in ‘stock shares’
***"As a point of legal disclosure SRE S.C. is in a contractual relationship and/or shares advisory board members with Methes Energies Canada Inc.(this is the ‘and’) Methes Energies is located in the Mississauga Province of Ontario, Canada and is in the business of developing, marketing and selling turnkey continuous flow bio-diesel processor systems named "the Denami 600," and Sun Si Inc.,(this is the ‘or’) a TCS production and shipping Corporation located in Zibo, China and is engaged in the solar power energy industry."***
Seems to even state that SRE is only a "Division of Pinnacle Energies Inc."
A division of a business entity is a portion of that business that operates under a different name. It is the equivalent of a corporation or limited liability company obtaining a fictitious name or "doing business as" certificate and operating a business under that fictitious name.
An example of this would be to look at Hewlett Packard (HP), the computer and printer company. HP has several divisions, with the printer division, that makes laser and inkjet printers, being the largest and most profitable division. The divisions of HP, like the Printing & Multifunction division, the Handheld Devices (includes the old calculator) division, the Servers division (mini and mainframe computers), etc., all use the HP brand name. But, Compaq (a part of HP since 2000), operates as a subsidiary, using the Compaq brand name.
I don't think SunSi is going to merge or have anything to do with SYNJ/Pinnacle/SRE other than "sharing" board members, that's just my gut feeling.
Well then it would be a good thing
if this guy was still with SRE.

What do you think
I've been looking at building permits also, but isn't it possible that it might go into an existing facility if it's ready, or if not, by adding an addition or something similar?
Wouldn't the environmental permits be a better way to search?

Interesting choice of verb tenses
"SunSi's first transaction has been launched in China through the acquisition of 90% of a well-established Trichlorosilane facility. Relatively unknown, but essential to the solar industry, Trichlorosilane is the main feedstock of the solar industry, used in the production of polysilicon. With this acquisition, it is believed that SunSi becomes the first and only "pure play" public company in the world honed on the production of Trichlorosilane."
I noticed this also...
"SunSi Energies Inc. aims to acquire and develop a portfolio of high quality Trichlorosilane (TCS) producing facilities that are strategically located and possess a potential for future growth and expansion."

I would love to know more about what system is inside the Denami, most likely it's the fluidized bed reactor.
I think the system of Plasma Gasification is great. Imagine being able to atomize everything in the waste streams, pretty cool.

THE INTER-AMERICAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION LAUNCHES ITS GREENPYME PROGRAM
3/9/2009 - GREENPYME promotes renewable energy, clean technology, and energy efficiency in SMEs in the main production and service sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean
Washington, D.C. - On March 10, 2009, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) announced the launching of an energy efficiency and renewable energy technical assistance program targeting small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in countries with high energy-saving potential. The IIC is the only multilateral development institution mandated to provide support and financing for SMEs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The program seeks to provide SMEs with know-how, tools, and technical and financial support for implementing energy efficiency measures and clean technologies. Doing so will enable these enterprises to become more competitive and sustainable while cutting their energy costs and improving their environmental profile.
Enterprises participating in GREENPYME may receive assistance for energy audits, consultant reports, and technical and viability assessments. Participation in the program may also facilitate access to financing from the IIC in the form of loans and equity investments. According to Jorge Roldán, IIC Technical Assistance and Strategic Partnerships Division Chief, “there is a real need for this innovative technical assistance program because SMEs in Latin America and the Caribbean still consume a large amount of high-cost energy inefficiently. That cost can be key to business viability.”
Financial support for GREENPYME is being provided by several donors, especially the Korea-IIC SME Development Trust Fund. This funding is being used for activities carried out in conjunction with local strategic partners of the IIC (commercial banks, universities, chambers of commerce, and business associations) that are also committed to fostering SME sustainability via energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.
GREENPYME was inaugurated in November 2008, when the IIC and Scotiabank cohosted three energy efficiency workshops in Jamaica and Belize. Two new workshops are scheduled this month: one in the Bahamas on March 16, cohosted by Royal Bank of Canada and the Bahamas Hotel Association; and another on March 18 in Trinidad and Tobago, cohosted by Scotiabank.
For more information on the program and to register for one of the energy efficiency workshops, contact Carlos Serrano, Technical Assistance and Strategic Partnerships Senior Financial Specialist. Clean Energy Economic Development Initiative (CEEDI) Support Program:
Program Update:
Proposals for funding to be considered during the second review period must be submitted by July 31, 2009 COB.
As Maryland moves to quickly build a vibrant clean energy sector and strives to create 100,000 “green-collar” jobs by 2015, the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) has created the Clean Energy Economic Development Initiative (CEEDI) Support Program to assist in the growth of a clean energy industry throughout the State.
MEA is now accepting proposals from businesses and organizations who seek financial support for projects that will assist Maryland in meeting its goal of generating 20% of its energy from clean, renewable sources by 2022.
The CEEDI Support Program will provide funding opportunities to Maryland businesses and organizations that are in the process of advancing new technologies, job creation, and the furthering of consumer products and services related to the clean energy sector. Eligible businesses, corporations and non-profits must be located in Maryland.

Plasma Gasification
Organic molecules (those that are carbon-based) become volatilized, or turn into gases. This synthetic gas (syngas) can be used as a fuel source if properly cleaned. Inorganic compounds melt down and become vitrified, or converted into a hard, glassy substance similar in appearance and weight to obsidian. Metals melt down as well, combining with the rest of the inorganic matter (called slag).
Unlike incinerators, which use combustion to break down garbage, there is no burning, or oxidation, in this process. The heat from plasma converters causes pyrolysis, a process in which organic matter breaks down and decomposes. Plasma torches can operate in airtight vessels. Combustion requires oxidization; pyrolysis does not.
Plasma waste converters can treat almost any kind of waste, including some traditionally difficult waste materials. It can treat medical waste or chemically-contaminated waste and leave nothing but gases and slag. Because it breaks down these dangerous wastes into their basic elements, they can be disposed of safely.
novel or breakthrough technologies
Recovery Act - Demonstration of Integrated Biorefinery Operations
Funding Opportunity Announcement Number: DE-FOA-0000096
The intent of this FOA will be to select integrated biorefinery projects that have the necessary technical and economic performance data that validates their readiness for the next level of scale-up.
In general, “integrated biorefineries” employ various combinations of feedstocks and conversion technologies to produce a variety of products, with the main focus on producing biofuels and bioproducts. Co- or by-products can include additional fuels, chemicals (or other materials), and heat and power.
These integrated biorefineries would produce, as their primary product, a liquid transportation fuel that supports, depending on topic area, meeting the advanced, renewable or advanced biofuels portion of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) or, depending on topic area, a bioproduct that substitutes for petroleum-based feedstocks and products.
DOE encourages applications that propose novel or breakthrough technologies and those that include appropriate collaboration between and among industry, academia, and DOE National Laboratories, FFRDCs (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers) or other government-funded facilities.

Trigeneration
or trigen is the simultaneous production of mechanical power (often converted to electricity), heat and cooling from a single heat source such as fuel or solar energy. As with cogeneration, the "waste heat" byproduct that results from power generation is harnessed, thus increasing the overall efficiency of the system.
Trigeneration can also refer to systems involving the production of Electricity, Heat/Cold AND some Product (mainly chemicals)

Validus DC Systems Teams With IBM, Syracuse and New York State
Validus DC Systems has been selected by Syracuse University to deliver the direct current power infrastructure in one of the world's most energy-efficient data centers. The data center project represents a partnership between IBM (NYSE: IBM), Syracuse University and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and is expected to use 50 percent less energy than a typical data center today, making it one of the "greenest" computer centers in operation.
The Validus DC System will provide the core power infrastructure equipment to create and deliver direct current power to the IBM z10 systems. The center will expand Syracuse University's leadership in the development and use of "green" innovations in nationally strategic domains. IBM intends to showcase the data center and its energy-efficient technologies to help clients design new data centers or improve their current operations.
Validus was chosen by Syracuse University based on their extensive experience in enterprise data centers and their industry leading high voltage direct current technology.
Delivering high-quality power distribution technology is especially important because Syracuse will be the home to the first university data center powered by onsite generation in New York State. The electrical tri-generation system will use an array of natural gas-fueled micro turbines to generate all the necessary electricity and also provide cooling for the computer infrastructure. The data center will be able to operate completely off-grid.
The data center is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
