BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!! ...................at "infinity" (i.e. fixed at a very large distance from the survey area so that their relative location has
no effect on the measurements), while the other potential and current electrodes are moved about.
The pole-dipole array is similar to the dipole-dipole array except that one of the current electrodes is
at infinity.
Induced Polarization
The induced polarization (IP) geophysical method utilizes the over-voltage phenomena of electrical
reactance between metals or metallic minerals (e.g. most sulphides, graphite, and some oxides) and
an electrolyte (i.e. ionic groundwater), referred to as "electrode polarization". Electrical current
generated in the earth by applying a high voltage to a pair of grounded electrodes, will cause electrochemical
reactions on the surfaces of metallic mineral grains in contact with groundwater. The net
effect is a build up of charges on the mineral grains (i.e. overvoltage), which can be observed by
rapidly terminating the current and then measuring the slow over-voltage decay with an integrating
voltmeter connected to a pair of measurement electrodes. This is referred to as "time-domain" IP
and the integrated voltage measurement is called "chargeability".
IP overvoltage can also be observed by noting its effect on an alternating current generated in the
earth. At low frequency (less than 0.1 cps), the ratio of measured voltage to current will be approximately
the same as that obtained by DC resistivity. At higher frequencies (greater than 1.0 cps) the
measured voltage will be slightly lower due to the opposing effect of overvoltage. This is referred
to as the "frequency effect" and the methodology is called "frequency-domain" IP.
In addition to the overvoltage phenomena of metallic mineral grains, some other minerals (most
notably clay minerals) can exhibit a weaker induced polarization response referred to as "membrane
polarization". This is due to a displacement of the concentration of positive ions in the electrolyte
next to mineral grains with net negative surface charge. The effect is much smaller than electrode
polarization but can be significant in certain situations such as argillic alteration zones.
The arrangements of electrodes for induced polarization surveys are primarily the moving and
combined moving-spreading type arrays. The most commonly used arrays are the dipole-dipole,
pole-dipole, pole-pole and gradient. Each has specific advantages and disadvantages. The
dipole-dipole array has good spatial resolution, good depth information and produces symmetric.............................................WHAT DID YOU KNOW ........AND WHEN DID YOU WANT TO KNOW IT .........(((EVERYTHING)))..............................(( AND I WANT IT))) ..(((..NOW ))).

INTRODUCTION
During the period 16 to 30 November 2001, Discovery Geophysics Inc. carried out magnetic and
gradient array induced polarization/resistivity surveys on the Holloway Cove and Ken’s Mountain
grids of Cornerstone Resources Inc. The grids are located on the South Princess property (Licence
7126m) on the Bonavista Peninsula in eastern Newfoundland. The surveys were carried out on cut
and chained survey grids that were completed by Ionex Ltd. of Springdale, Newfoundland just prior
to the arrival of the geophysics survey crew. The gradient array IP/resistivity survey was carried out
using an Iris ELREC-6 time-domain IP receiver with a Huntec M-4 2.5 kW IP transmitter powered
by a 6.5 Hp motor generator. The magnetic survey was carried out using three GEM Systems
GSM-19 Overhauser magnetometers and an EDA Omni IV base station magnetometer. The survey
crew consisted of Brent Robertson (chief geophysical operator), Dean Colbourne, Jeff Burton, Jerry
Whalen and Peter Hewlett of Discovery Geophysics Inc.
On the Holloway Cove grid, a total of 18.3 km of magnetic surveying was completed in one day and
a total of 18.3 km of gradient IP/resistivity in 5 days. On the Ken’s Mountain grid, a total of 21.5
km of magnetic surveying was completed in one day and a total of 21.3 km of gradient array
IP/resistivity in 6 days. The crew suspended survey operations on the evening of the 22 November
after completion of the Holloway Cove grid and returned on the morning of the 25 November to
continue with the survey on the Ken’s Mountain grid. The break was taken to allow the survey crew
time off and also to allow Discovery’s chief geophysicist time to assess data quality.
This report is a technical description of the surveys, data processing, and interpretation procedures,
followed by a general discussion of the results and their implications for the continued exploration
on the property. The total magnetic intensity data are presented in 1:5,000 scale profile, contoured
and colour gridded maps. The IP/resistivity data are presented as 1:5,000 scale profile, contoured
and colour gridded maps of apparent chargeability and apparent resistivity.
SURVEY LOCATION, ACCESS AND PHYSIOGRAPHY
The South Princess property is part of the Princess Group: a group of properties located on the
Bonavista Peninsula in eastern Newfoundland. The Princess Group of properties consists of 595...contiguous
claims and covers an area of approximately 149 square kilometres. The communities of
Canning’s Cove, Musgravetown and Bloomfield border the eastern side of the group of properties,
and the community of Bunyan’s Cove is located at the centre of the western side. The city of
Clarenville is situated approximately 7.5 kilometres south of the southern limit of the property
(Figure 1). The Holloway Cove and Ken’s Mountain grids are both located on the South Princess
property and fall within mineral licence 7126m on NTS map sheet 2C/05.
The Holloway Cove grid is located directly west of the community of Bloomfield and is easily
accessed from Hwy 233. The grid area is regularly used by locals to selectively harvest firewood
and as a result bush trails, accessible to all-terrain vehicles or snowmobiles, are widespread. A
woods road located about 300 m south of line 8000N parallels the southern border of the grid. The
topography of the area is gentle, except for the northeast corner of the grid, which is characterized
by an irregular pattern of steep hills. Low-lying areas are dominated by open bog or marsh interspersed
with forest. A large open bog is located between lines 9000N to 8600N near the western
end of these lines and extends for a considerable distance to the west. A dense growth of spruce and
balsam fir, interspersed with minor birch and aspen, covers much of the area. Exposed outcrop is
found on the higher ridges and hills, with little or no outcrop apparent in the low-lying areas.
The Ken’s Mountain Grid is located about 5 km west of the Holloway Cove grid and is accessed
from Bunyan’s Cove Forest Access Road that leaves Hwy 233 on the outskirts of the community of
Bunyan’s Cove. The forest access road is followed for about 8 km to the east side of the grid and
continues on to traverse the grid from east to west at about line 9400N. Clear-cut logging is
extensive along either side of this road, and skidder trails push into various areas of the grid where
wood was harvested. Total cut-over on the grid is estimated to be about 30% to 40%. Most of the
cutting is recent and as a result new growth has not yet developed and the logged out areas are
relatively open. Topographically the area is characterized by high ground to the north (Ken’s
Mountain) that slopes into a valley at around line 8800N and rises again to the south end of the grid.
Several small ponds and bogs are located along the valley bottom. Forest cover is a mixed growth
of spruce and balsam fir, interspersed with minor birch and aspen. Abundant exposed outcrop is
found on high ground and little or no outcrop is evident along the valley that extends the entire
width of the grid at around line 8800N...
SURVEY METHODOLOGY
Resistivity
The resistivity method is conceptually one of the most straight forward of all geophysical
procedures. Electrical current is applied to the earth, either on surface or in boreholes, using two
grounded electrodes, a powerful electrical generator and wire cables. At some location within the
generated current field, the electrical potential (i.e. voltage) is measured between two other
grounded electrodes using a sensitive voltmeter. Knowing the positions of all electrodes and the
intensity of current driven into the ground, it is possible to calculate the apparent resistivity of the
earth from the measured potential. The apparent resistivity is the effective resistivity of a uniform
earth which would give rise to the same measured potential.
There are a wide variety of arrangements of electrodes (i.e. arrays) for different exploration
purposes. To determine how apparent resistivity varies with depth, a spreading type of array is used
in which the distance between electrodes is increased in some orderly fashion and measurements are
repeated. To determine how apparent resistivity varies with position, and hence map the spatial
apparent resistivity variation, the electrode separation remains fixed and the array is moved with
repeated measurements. Some arrays can operate in both modes simultaneously, thus forming twoor
three-dimensional views of the earth.
The Wenner array is a spreading type array in which all electrodes are equally spaced along a line
with the current electrodes outside the potential electrodes. The Schlumberger array has all
electrodes along a line with the current electrodes outside the potential electrodes, but the potential
electrode separation is fixed while the current electrodes are symmetrically separated. In the
dipole-dipole array, the current electrode separation is set to the same separation as the potential
electrodes, and the dipoles are moved apart.
The dipole-dipole array is also used in a moving mode, but since all four electrodes must be moved
with each station, other less cumbersome arrays have been developed. The gradient array is similar
to the Schlumberger array except that the current electrodes are fixed at some large separation and
the potential electrode pair is moved about the region between them. The pole-pole array is
essentially half a Wenner array: one of the current electrodes and one of the potential electrodes are.........................

Great info on Rusty Ridge and Shaylee from Rick-UK in the stickies above. Check out all of the great pictures of the properties. Shaylee is very close to Rusty Ridge.
Property 5: Shaylee
Shaylee is a region of volcanic rock traversed by numerous faults which early indications appear to indicate contain high levels of copper. Even less is known about Shaylee than about Twi-Lite. Shaylee sits adjacent to and very nearly abutting Rusty Ridge, and was an area that Ken and Tim Stead have only very recently claimed on 11 February 2010, although they had explored the area beforehand. Shaylee has two very interesting copper anomalies, the first 1km long by 75m wide and the second 200m long by 50m wide. It’s proximity to Rusty Ridge means that KAT Exploration can include further exploration at Shaylee into its plans for exploration at Rusty Ridge, and this precisely what our CEO Ken Stead intends to do. What I also think is interesting is the idea that KAT Exploration could potentially find a JV partner for Rusty Ridge but retain the mineral rights at Shaylee, then piggyback off the work carried out at Rusty Ridge to add further value to KATX shareholders. Just an idea!
The image below shows Rusty Ridge to the right (three claim areas together) and Shaylee to the left…
________________________________________________________________
Property 2: Rusty Ridge
Rusty Ridge is KAT’s other big copper claim. An airborne magnetic IP resistivity survey of Rusty Ridge showed a strong magnetic anomaly and this combined with soil geochemical analysis strongly indicates the presence of high levels of minerals including copper and rare earth elements (REE). In an interview for CEO/CFO Interviews, our CEO Ken Stead said: ”There was an interpretation done by an independent geophysics company from Vancouver, on the other side of Canada, who likened many of the signatures that we are finding to that of the Olympic Dam in Australia. That is actually their words not ours.” (Olympic Dam is the world’s fourth largest copper mine, valued in the billions of dollars.)
The PR released in June 2009 described Rusty Ridge thus: Anomalous levels of the Light Rare Earth Elements (LREE) cerium and lanthanum, all present in Olympic Dam (and others), were not only detected in soils but also in rock samples. Other rare earth elements such as Yttrium(Y), Niobium(NB), Zirconium(ZR) along with Uranium, were all detected in both soil and rock samples. In addition, the soil geochemistry also produced anomalies in silver, gold and copper.
According to the KAT Exploration website “This property has already generated a lot of interest from mining companies” and according to CEO Ken Stead this claim ”is ready for drilling”. What conclusions can we draw from this? IMO Rusty Ridge has a very good chance of becoming absolutely massive. Copper and Rare Earth Elements are of massive strategic importance right now and these commodities are set to rise even further in value as reserves come under greater pressure. It’s still all to play for in the sense that (so far as we are aware) no test drilling has yet occurred at Rusty Ridge. Finally, on 16th April, Ken Stead said “…we have made a few new and unexpected discoveries on the RR during our last period of sampling so we will continue with a summers program of the same and spend some time on the Shaylee right next door”.
The drill is currently being positioned at Rusty Ridge and drilling will commence imminently.
Well, on the KATX Blog they did post this:
Smart Blog Sept 08, 2010
1) As of 09/07 There is no change in the Share struture.
2) Rusty Ridge drilling update and progress. The access road is being cleared for the drill rig to be moved to the drill, targets. Also three dfferent tenders are being reviewed and a decision will be made vey soon for the successful bidder. Drilling will commence shortly therafter.
It could very well be that they have already started drilling.
It doesn't say they would tell us when they start, just "Drilling will commence shortly thereafter." Hmmmmmmmmm
And I do remember that when ever Katx would put out previous PR's the flipper/traders would just sell on the news, and bring it down. Maybe Ken will just pull out the drill cores from Rusty and PR, Yahoooooo! :o)
We'll just have to wait and see.

Some guys really like to distort, I guess lack of facts and attitude. Kat was incorporated in 2005 and at a mining show in Vancouver that year an acquaintance put us in touch with Atlas Mining who we knew nothing about and being a private company we were supporting the company with personal funds which wasn't going to take us to far. A 1 year deal was struck with Atlas Mining for grubstaking Kat with an option to continue funding if so desired. However, after the 1 year was up Atlas decided not to fund Kat any longer. So that deal was finished and we had nothing to do with Atlas since. Yet a year or so later Atlas came in to some legal problem that we had no knowledge of and still don't.
This left us on our own for a few more years using our own funds once again and yes just scraping along and doing just enough on our properties to keep them in good standing without pay checks. I went 23 months before I got my first paycheck last time around. We continued to keep discovering new areas and eventually came up with enough money stake new properties and now it seems to have paid off and hopefully we'll be good from here on in.

Birdman, your not going to do anything irrational if your dream and fairy tale company isn't what it seems are you? I also have 2 questions for you since you eat, drink, sleep, and whatever else you do regarding Kat Exploration.
1. Can you explain or bring to knowledge Snead"s past/current relationship with a fraudulent company? (Atlas Mining)
2. What has Kat Exploration been doing from 2005 until mid-2009. They have been operative and just as active (according to their JV's with Atlas Mining) as they are now.. Only difference is that they just pop up out of nowhere and start releasing PR's mid-09.
I'd appreciate your feedback on these questions and no dodging. Thank you and have a splendid evening. BOBS REPLY

IOCG Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (+/-Ag,+/-Nb,+/-REE,+/-U) Deposits: A Canadian Perspective
Geological Survey of Canada
Mineral Deposits of Canada

Copper is the third most important metal to have
been produced in Newfoundland and Labrador
(after iron and zinc), but for a while in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries it was the dominant
metallic commodity.
The Voisey’s Bay deposit alone has the capacity to
almost double the province’s historical
copper production.
Copper was first discovered in Newfoundland ca.
1776, but did not come into commercial prominence
until the discovery of the copper deposits of Notre
Dame Bay in the late 1850s. Tradition relates that this
discovery came about when a prospector identified
the ballast of a local fishing boat as copper ore. This
ushered in the Newfoundland copper boom of 1875 to
1914, during which period Newfoundland ranked, for
a while, as the world’s sixth largest copper producer........BOOM!!
Notre Dame Bay mines such as Tilt Cove (Figure 1),
Betts Cove and Little Bay, which exploited small, but
high-grade, deposits were prominent
features of this boom.
In 1928, the
focus of copper production
switched to central Newfoundland
following the discovery of
the Buchans volcanic-hosted Zn–
Cu–Pb–Au deposits. These deposits
remained in production until their eventual depletion
in 1984 and formed the major single source of copper
production in the province. A new surge of exploration
in the 1950s – 1960s led to reactivation of the
Tilt Cove and Little Bay mines (1957–1969), the
development of the Whalesback, Gullbridge and
Little Deer mines (1965–1974), and also to the discovery
of the Rambler deposits which were in production
from 1964 to 1982.
Since 1984,.....VOISEY BAY.....Voisey’s Bay total 137 000 000 RESERVES TONNS...

discoveries have been made at Duck Pond (1986) in
Newfoundland, and Voisey’s Bay (1994) in Labrador,
both of which are likely to come on-stream in the near
future.
Copper is found in a number of mineralization
environments that are described below.....Tilt Cove was the
largest deposit of its type in the
Appalachian belt. Over 100 other
similar occurrences exist within the
northwestern Dunnage Zone making
this one of the most richly mineralized
parts of Newfoundland.....................

Come on now Gump.......... "Vale was probably".... "Stead probably thought".... " in my opinion".
You cannot know what they possibly "thought"
These dogs come and go. People work .. people drop .. new people work .. they drop .. and so on. It's all in the timing and the ' flavor of the week '. Vale was probably planning all that work last winter and the Luckies were sitting there unclaimed. Stead probably thought something may be coming because of the big new smelter announcements and went back in to re-acquire the Luckies. He beat Vale to those 2 but in my opinion it was most certainly NOT the reason Vale acquired all that new acreage. They had it planned all winter but didn't get around to doing it until after Stead moved. However the Luckies still remain moose pasture until proven otherwise.
YOU WROTE........''That program was probably in the works for them long before KAT staked the Luckies''''......NOW THAT'S JUST TOO FUNNY...HOW COULD THAT BE??? KEN AND TIM STEAD HAVE BEEN WORKING THE ''LUCKYS'' ALONG WITH ALL THE CORNERSTONE LEASES YEARS BEFORE VOISEY BAY WAS A TWINKLE IN VALE'S EYE!!...WAY WAY TOO FUNNY..... HERE IS A STATMENT FROM KEN STEADS OLD PARTNER
"We are extremely pleased to be working with Vale on these copper projects," said Colin McKenzie, Cornerstone's President & CEO. "Cornerstone has been exploring for copper in this area since the company's inception, and VEC's recent interest through its own claim staking and optioning of our properties confirms our view of the potential of this environment to host significant copper deposits"........
The truth shall set you free
Thanks Sure.... for your kind words. I cannot PM, but I will see that your message will be forwarded to the other recipient also. :o)
Yes, we all want thing to move along quickly, but what seems "late" to you looks "strategic" to me!
Yes, impressive Legal Team. They're not missing the mark, it's all in the timing I believe.

As always......no proof, facts or examples of what you write.
Here is information from the i box above regarding Vale Claims, and I understand it costs them approx 1 mil a year to maintain claims surrounding the Lucky properties.
VALE INCO now surrounds KATX LUCKY Property - They did so on 12/12/2009smile
Ken Stead, President/CEO of KAT, states, "The very fact that a company of Vale's caliber has enough interest in the area and sees enough potential in the Lucky properties to warrant an option with KAT, leaves us very excited. We are very pleased to be exploring these copper properties with Vale and look forward to bringing them to their full potential."
Taken from the IBox above!
You wrote ,""This is what they are supposed to do""..You tried miserably to falsely paint this move by VALE as an every day occurance....What a joke lol, ....Name one other time a company like VALE ''or any company'' HAS STAKED 300 CONTINUOUS SQUARE MILES around anything!!!!! ((((EVER! ))))) ...What a Joke...lol.
"Nobody is interested"?
Nobody is interested in a stock that just seems to drift lower and lower.
Oh...lol. I was writing that before I even read yours. No worries. And Yes, both Rick-UK and Bio do GREAT DD. :o)
Nice information Rick-UK, regarding Clifton Property. Thanks. New info to me!
New: Part of the recent JV between Cornerstone and VALE was for Cornerstone’s claim to the north of Lucky and next to the VALE claims that surround Lucky. What I don’t think anyone except me has realised is where the other part of that JV is for. It’s for Cornerstone’s claims that lie just south of our Clifton claim. So VALE are JV partnering in the Clifton area as well as in the Lucky area. I hope you like that new piece of DD!
Here is o one so far SGW

HA hah just watching the markets waiting for drilling results to come in. When drilling starts I usually just sit back and watch and wait; that is all that matters to me.
I do know that VALE peoples are taking a lot of samples off of KATX property. They are spending a lot of time in they area.
Naa VALE did not think too much of the intire Bonivista at all !...That is why they leased ....how many square Miles or Kilometers was it?.....Oh yea.... KAT Exploration (OTC) (USOTC:KATX)
Historical Stock Chart
1 Year : September 2009 to September 2010
Kat Exploration (OTC-Pink Sheets: KATX) is happy to report that its exploration program carried out this summer on its 100% wholly owned “Lucky” Property has been a real success.
Copper mineralization is quite visible in an old pit near a gravel road and impressive malachite staining along with chalcocite is strata bound within the more sandy beds of the sediments. The horizon that contains the mineralization has been traced for approximately 8 miles with copper mineralization at a thickness of 300ft in places. Assay results of 2.5% Cu were discovered in the most exposed areas within this horizon. The most recent work uncovered several large areas of semi-massive to well disseminated chalcopyrite approximately 4 miles on strike from the open pit which reveals the highest copper grades to date.
This type of environment has the potential to produce low grade, large tonnage copper deposits similar to those of the Zambia copper belt.
To secure an area of interest the company recently staked 1225 acres of new land mass where some recent grab samples produced copper results of .5% along with anomalous gold.
More ground work is planned for the Northern portion of the property where the most recent copper occurrences were discovered.
In its future endeavors the company would hope to ensure non-dilutive options where the merits of the projects will fund the operations. As one of the co-founders of Cornerstone Resources Inc., who had done joint ventures with major mining companies such as Noranda, Phelps Dodge, and other major companies, Mr. Stead is quite familiar with world class mining companies and is confident in bringing their interest to Kat’s projects as they move forward. Future press releases will provide more updates to confirm more guidance on the direction of the company.

Millrock Resources Inc.
TSX VENTURE: MRO
Sep 07, 2010 09:02 ETMillrock Reports on Drilling Results, Expanded Drilling Program and Property Acquisition at Galiuro Project, Arizona
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2010) - Millrock Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MRO) ("Millrock" or the "Company") released results of exploration work carried out at its Galiuro porphyry copper-gold project in southeastern Arizona. Also, the Company has reported that the funding partner, Vale Exploration Canada Inc. ("VEC"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vale S.A. ("VALE"), has approved a supplemental program and budget of $1 million for further drilling in fall 2010. Additionally, in conjunction with VEC, Millrock has more than tripled the size of the property by acquiring additional mineral rights to cover a second porphyry system to the east.
Recent drilling by Millrock resulted in the discovery of porphyry copper mineralization and alteration in Cretaceous – aged rocks hidden beneath Tertiary volcanic cover rocks. While no ore grade intersections were obtained, Millrock geologists are strongly encouraged by the results.
Philip St George, Millrock VP of Exploration stated: "The drilling results are very exciting. We've intercepted copper porphyry alteration and mineralization. As we suspected from our mapping, Tertiary volcanic cover is quite thin. The rocks we have drilled are indicative of higher levels and/or proximal alteration assemblages in a porphyry system. Further drilling to depth, and in interpreted upthrown fault blocks to locate the ore shell of this porphyry system is warranted and will be carried out as soon as possible."
The drilling and other exploration work done by Millrock and VEC allows the companies to conclude that:
The ZTEM airborne geophysical system has been successful in identifying areas of increased conductivity in Laramide-aged rocks below Tertiary cover due to disseminated sulfides, clay alteration and structures.
As indicated by diatreme breccia-style mineralization, silicification and advanced argillic alteration, the level of paleo-exposure in the sub-Tertiary cover rocks is shallow, probably within 500 m of the paleosurface.
A porphyry environment with favourable host rocks and potential for high grade deposits is indicated by the presence of bornite mineralization and diabase host rock.
Hole GAL_1001, drilled to 1,591 ft intersected hematite and goethite rich leach cap and phyllic altered (quartz-sericite-pyrite) rocks with pyrite content of 1% to 2%. Copper oxides and fine disseminated chalcocite replacing pyrite was observed. The intersection from 1,314.5 ft to 1,338.8 ft graded 0.2% Cu over 24.3 ft. Diatreme breccia was also intersected in the hole.
In Hole GAL_1002, a hole drilled to 2,229 ft, a porphyry system was indicated by acid leached diorite porphyry intersected below Tertiary volcanics at 786 ft. Near the bottom of the hole phyllic alteration (quartz-sericite-pyrite) with 3-4% pyrite and minor chalcopyrite and chalcocite was intersected, as was intrusive breccia with bornite. The sulfides in these two holes explain the ZTEM conductive zones. Two anomalous intersections were obtained in GAL_1002. The first intersection is form 919.0 ft to 929.5' for 10.5 ft grading 0.12% Cu. The second intersection is from 1,924.5 ft to 1,979 ft for 54.5 ft grading 0.06% Cu. The presence of bornite is quite encouraging, as it typically occurs only in unusually high grade porphyry systems such as at the Resolution deposit located 80 km to the northeast of the Galiuro project.
Hole GAL_1003 was drilled to a depth of 1,979.0 ft in a porphyry system after cutting below late, post-mineral Tertiary basalt from the collar down to 720 ft. Pre-mineral rocks to the bottom of the hole include a mix of Laramide diorite and andesite with Precambrian sediments and diabase. The presence of diabase is encouraging as it can create a chemical trap for high grade mineralization. The higher-grade portions of the nearby Resolution and Ray deposits are hosted by diabase, The diabase is cut by numerous magnetite veinlets that may be related to potassic alteration. No significant copper results were obtained from laboratory analysis of the drill core.

The target at the Galiuro project is a large porphyry copper +/- gold deposit hidden beneath alluvium and Tertiary volcanic cover. The property is situated at the intersection of the Resolution and San Manuel / Kalamazoo porphyry copper trends. Because of the Tertiary volcanic cover, little exploration work has been previously done by other companies. Through careful geological mapping in combination with airborne magnetic and ZTEM geophysical surveys, Millrock has identified numerous targets that may represent porphyry deposits. Additional drilling has been approved by Millrock's funding partner VEC. VEC has the option to earn a 60% interest in the project through exploration expenditures totaling US$3.5 million and payments totaling US$850,000. The earn-in agreement is in its second year, and VEC has expended approximately US$1.5 million on the property to date. Millrock is the exploration operator. VEC may earn an additional 10% interest, for a total of 70%, by funding a feasibility study.
Given the success of this drilling program, Millrock and Vale have significantly expanded their land position to the south and west. Additionally, a very large block of claims was staked to the east to cover the Fourmile target. This circular magnetic feature is ringed by a strong ZTEM conductive zone. Intense argillic alteration is known from rock exposures and prior drilling on the west side of the structure. In total, an area of over 11,000 acres was staked, bringing the total area covered to approximately 16,800 acres. Millrock and VEC will further advance both targets later in 2010 and throughout 2011.
For the current drilling program, samples of drill core were obtained by splitting core at Millrock's Mammoth, Arizona facility. In total, 495 samples were collected, and sealed in bags for shipping to Skyline Labs in Tucson, Arizona where the samples were prepared, then sent to Assayers Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia for both Au Fire Assay/AA and ICPMS/AR. A quality assurance and quality control ("QAQC") program was in place for the drilling program. A total of 65 standards, blanks and field duplicates were submitted along with core samples. The lab returned acceptable results for all QAQC samples. A small population of core sample pulps was sent to a third independent lab, and the values obtained were consistent with original assays.
