oiliphant is discredited by some and followed by others. progress does seem real now as money has been paid, drilling rigs contracted, etc. it is not an illusion.
what are message boards for in your opinion then?
Good (meaning clever)!
damn, VERY funny. you guys have some quick wit, must be the happy vibes today. still underwater here but it is nice to work my way back up a bit.
strass - that was clever! LOL
i'll admit it, i love it when oily posts. not much about erhc gets me smiling lately but oily still does.
i know. but, since it sits at .23 it does test us. waiting and waiting gets old but that is all we can do. i'm also excited about what is on the way but can easily relate to those that are sick of this.
Fishdog, who died and made you moderator? telling someone to stay off the board because you don't like their comment about being discouraged is aweful. keep your advice to yourself or better yet take your own advice and give it to yourself 'in private'.
Interesting article in the Washington Post about the nigeria delta region and the 'war' now being fought by mend. here is the link:

you da man Tryoty! thanks for your actions here, and have a great holiday.
speaking of names, Ledbetters nick name growing up was 'shoulda'...
not a good sign for us.
maybe praise for the mods mixed in with yet another uncalled for attack on krom is what did him in.
LOL. right you are.
I'm starting to dispise this 'rig of opportunity' phrase. i kinda means if we get lucky we might get a rig and make everyone happy. they can get a rig if they really want to can't they?
the man behind the curtain speaks!! very good to hear from him, even if on the way out the door.
LOL Tryoty. be nice!!
what a great set of questions. if we get answers to half of them i would be happy. real answers, not 'i can't respond' answers.
you got that exactly right DeGen. the right wing loonies that were running all parts of the government took aim again and again at online gambling and finally got their wish of killing it. I live in DC and didn't like the confidence they were showing in trying to kill it, even after 6 years of failed efforts. so i finally bailed on WGMGY just in time. as for ERHE, i don't think the forces against it will prevail. of course this time i may get it wrong and be back to basically zero in my 'play' money, plus my wife will kill me. But i do believe we have the legal contracts that will protect us. "Perfected Rights" is what ERHC called them. Lets drill...
DeGen - don't be too impressed by ERHE going up a couple pennies when the market was dropping. no real relationship between the two imho. i DO like reading your posts by the way, as you get up to speed on the ins and outs of stocks you own quite quickly. soon you'll be as versitile in your analysis of this beast as you were with the World Gaming one. just remember to pull the trigger and get OUT at some point.
have a good weekend.
i love the part about 'even the village idiots will prosper'! Glad to see i'm covered...
i somewhat agree. they have been against it from the start as a give away to the rich as well as an unfair tilting of wealth generation from labor, which is taxed at a higher rate, to investment wealth, now reduced to 15%. they may try to make the capital returns tax rate more progressive also so higher income folks would pay a higher rate. If the ERHC investment takes me to a higher capital return rate i'll try not to complain!
the current democratic montra is tax and spend as compared to the republican montra of borrow and spend. if the tax cuts can be offset with spending cuts of some kind, the dems will leave the cuts alone. you decide which one is best but i think my grandchildren would prefer we pay for our spending at the time of the spending so as to not saddle the next generation with more debt.
so i doubt the capital gains tax rate will go back to 35 percent. it will go to the spot where the cuts are paid for.
this quote about 'we are going to do 5 holes in the near 5 years' is odd. i thought the contract was for 5 holes in 300 days with another 5 optional in the following 300 days.
from the Equator announcement, can someone explain the un-risked and risked amounts of oil (what does that mean) and then relate it to ERHC's percentages?
Block 2 was awarded to Equator and
the other participants in March 2006. Subsequent to a farm-in to the interest of
another participant, A & Hatman, Equator has a 9% interest, of which 0.25% is
allocated to another partner. The other participants are Sinopec, ERHC Energy
and Addax Petroleum, who together have 65%, ONGC (13.5%), A & Hatman (2.5%),
Amber Petroleum (5%) and Foby Engineering (5%). In its News Release of 11
January 2007, the Company reported the Best Estimate Prospective Resources for
its net interest as prepared by Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc. On an
un-risked basis net to Equator they are 121 million barrels of oil and 168
billion standard cubic feet of gas, while on a risked basis they are 32 million
barrels of oil and 50 billion standard cubic feet of gas.
hey, no problem. friday i was complaining and today is a happier day. i'll stick with 'e' as it relates to ERHC going forward. the other 'e' word is to volcanic, i'mean volatile.
but now that addax has published this announcement of rig schedule, erhc should be allowed to echo it. right?
hmmmm. "a nice erection?" get your mind out of the gutter!
maybe you meant a nice elevation.
LOL
so add a freaking penny to your bid and buy all you want. sheesh.
i thought THIS year was the year the longs were waiting for. lots of invisible action so say some but i couldn't be more frustrated with a stock purchase decision. oh well, i'm sorta stuck now so need to wait for the real deal here. pretty soon i'll be a long waiting forever also.
your handle is one of the few that is self explanatory! come on tryoty, tells us about yours. mine is just my last name, first initial.
can someone give an overview of the potential in block 3? i thought this was the block with the lowest amount of potential oil out of blocks 2,3,4. i almost can't believe Mark because i've wanted to hear about that drilling for so long. i can't get myself to get excited (too much) yet.
that was darn funny tryoty. good post. from one flea to another.
I feel your pain buddy, many of us do. the thing i learned the hard way with this stock is how slooooow the oil industry is. i jumped in THEN learned this, as you did. there are things happening it appears but it is like watching paint dry. meanwhile, we are stuck at this aweful SP. i don't think all you read is hype though and we can be well past this penny price in short order if we actually get some real, live activity.
anyone know why the consortiums can't publish general guidelines from the budget area? is this considered confidential info to them? it would help us all to get something official from them.
makes sense, i thought that was where you were going. thanks
BB - how did you get to 3%?
sheesh, that's what someone said about wisconsin and arkansas also. wisconsin beat arkansas (and auburn last year) and florida beats ohio state. it is all about matchups, not just about SEC speed vs. the slow midwest, big ten league. how else do you explain the big 10 winning 2 out of 3 bowl games against the SEC this year?
OT: if wisconsin is a fraud, penn state is dead since wisc beat them handily this year. each year folks think wisc can't be very good and most years the badgers prove everyone wrong. just ask auburn who wisc killed in last years bowl game. auburn was a big favorite as is usual.
wheresthefirear - sorry about that, i didn't see your post. beat me to it.
Oilphant - is the name of the rabbit - "The March Hare" from Alice and Wonderland?
