I'm finding that you need to refresh manually.
SJ probably had his people do a DOS on the site.....LOL
What you're saying then Lakers is that MRVL was never going to release the financials before iPhone debut just in case it contained some iPhone info?
So far you are batting 1000%, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Don't forget that this is the end of the quarter. Window dressing time.
This may have been talked about before. I have been reading (sorry no link, hard copy) that the carriers like AT&T et al have been balking at offering phones that have wifi because it is a way around them. That can kill some of the premium services that the carriers offer because the info would then be available online for free. IMO, it is a temporary situation as the headset manufacturers will force the issue. However, could be a short term "awshit" for MRVL. Looking forward to the end of the week and iPhone time.
You evidently didn't read the link. It said that the list was preliminary;
"Final membership lists for the Russell 3000, Russell 1000®, Russell 2000®, Russell Midcap® and Russell Microcap® will be posted June 25."
The moves may be a leak as who made it and who didn't.

Exactly, how could MRVL be delisted now?
Does anyone think that the gap around $18.50 will be a major resistance area? TIA
I saw that too. If that doesn't have MRVL written all over it, I don't know who else it would describe.
That was my thought also that it was a good thing. Problem is that these A-hole hedge funds et al will find a way around it.
I understand the need for the market makers to naked short their stock (allegedly for liquidity purposes). To me, no one else should be able to.
Has everyone seen this yet? I knew something was in the works about naked shorting.

Yesterday's and today's action might be attributed to the "Paris Hilton" factor (thanks to Neil Cavuto). Yesterday Paris is let out of jail and the market takes a shit. Today she is put back in and the markets rally. Who needs a fifth wave when we have Paris.....LOL.
One would think that the way that BRCM handled the patent dispute with QCOM would make most of their customers start to look for another/second source, say MRVL. Anything stopping them?
Let's hope that this "correction" has about run it's course and the rally continues.

I just have to laugh at the yo-yo's on the Yahoo board saying that when the market has a good day, MRVL goes sideways or down. Imagine what would happen to MRVL on a bad day?
We saw today......and it was all good.
It's possible that whoever does know has been getting in already. They wouldn't wait for the last minute and volume has been good.
JMHO
McClellan has been calling for some sort of short term pullback centered around Wednesday 6/6. This pullback today could be part of it. Not to worry.
You mean like "Marvell Inside" stickers that could be put on all wireless devices? I like it.....LOL.
The downside of that is that Marvel pays for some/most of the advertising. Like you are saying S2, a full fledged advertising campaign would be alright by me. Quarterlies need to be resolved first and then we can plan for the future. JMHO
It appears that something is leaking. I just hope that they release the cleaned up financials before the release of the iPhone. That would really catapult this stock. Trying not to get my hopes up though.
Yeah, you know that any good news about MRVL will leak so I would plan to begin a position when the stock options start to move again. JMHO
I hear you dude except........no one knew it was "dead money" for 14 months until after the fact. I tried to stay invested thinking that an announcement of clearing up the options crap could happen at any time. The fact that every other company who was involved in the options crap at about the same time as MRVL resolved their problem eons ago just makes me mad. However, when MRVL gets their shit together, it will be our turn and the dead money scenario will seem like it was worth it (or at least it better).
JMHO
Well, I bought today. With all of the pissing and moaning and whining on this board and Yahoo the only conclusion is that the end of the wait is near.Buy when no one else wants it, or as Alex Brown used to advertise.......Buy Low.
Nice post Lakers. Also, nice call on the announcements. Evidently MRVL is at a show in Vegas this week. Expect any more announcements? TIA
mykl, you have nothing to lose by waiting until the iPhone release.
$16 has proven to be a good floor so there is no need to sell at the bottom. JMHO
I've come this far already. I'm not selling until I see how the street handles the release of the clean quarterlies. Should be within 6 weeks.
I like this from the conference call:
"Actually, there is a conference on the SID. Sometimes this next week or the end of next week. I forget, showing the progress that we will be demoing a bunch of new products such our video technology products or technologies in that conference. So it's for some reason I think the schedule for this conference is a little bit earlier than some of our new products that we are going to plan to announce in the next month."
Hmmmm....new product announcements in next month.
The 1Q08 Earnings transcript:

Did MRVL say when they planned to release cleaned up quarterlies?
Are they still insisting that they will miss June 26th?
I view this mornings news as good news. It doesn't surprise me that someone(s) had to go. The fact remains that the "brains" remain intact. Now, I don't even view this as the big news. That would be the revised quarterlies when the analysts will have to upgrade. Then let the celebration begin.

Let me play devil's advocate for a minute. I was looking at the Yahoo description of the key executives of MRVL.
For Sehat it says that he is the chairman of the stock option committee. His wife is a member of the same committee. Knowing that, then it is possible that they were in on the granting and/or backdating of the stock options in question. That said, it is also possible that they would need to be "fired" for the company to move on.
Now, one way to keep them there is for someone/somebody to buy MRVL. If that is the case, I just hope that the company is not given away so that Sehat and wife can stay.
Just food for thought.
I'm just curious what happens assuming that MRVL announces that the earnings release date is 5/17. Can they release cleaned up/restated quarterly results during the "quiet period" or does that need to happen before?
To me this 8_K just means that the options mess is almost over. Nothing more than the SEC coming in, checking out what the investigative committee found out, and then negotiate a "fine".
That shouldn't take long at all. If anything egregious is found, then other action could be taken. However, that shouldn't stop the formal end. This is good news.
Today was nothing more that the Cramer crowd rushing for the exits since they got their emails. They will miss the big event that will happen shortly and I couldn't care less.
It's interesting that they do state the use of Xscale in the iPhone as though it was a forgone conclusion. Wonder who their sources are.
I apologize for answering but (being one of the believers):
The assumption was that the options mess would be cleared up by now. Sure, we are ALL pissed that it's not cleared up.
I would have done like S2 and lowered my expectations because of it. Didn't want to post in place of S2, but am a true believer and not a trader.
to S2 and everyone here. I honestly have no doubts about MRVL's future. I have loaded the boat and am ready to hold long term. Let's talk in another year (figuratively speaking). If you have seen the last scene from the movie "Trading Places", then you can picture what I expect to look like in the next few years with this stock.
Just call me Lewis.....ROFL!
cbs13, I think that you hit it dead on.
JMHO
I use turboTax and have my brokerage account at Vanguard (I am an investor, not a trader). Vanguard will allow importation of sell info (info that is reported to the IRS). The buy info you need to fill in yourself. I would expect most brokerages to operate the same if they allow info importation.
So what are we going to retest after the rally back to around $18.50?
$17.34?
Screw it. I bought a boatload more MRVL today. I have faith, just pissed that MRVL can't seem to hire enough bean counters to get this options mess put to rest. What could possibly take so long?
