But then again why should they be prevented from playing? We don't prevent employees of General Motors or any other company from owning and trading stock in GM because they work there. Yes, true insiders (officers and such) but as we saw only half a million or so sold off prior to the PR so this time it wasn't really significant.
However, I was surprised to see the price per share drop as low as it did on a mere 5% play. I surmise the drop then was due to the drop in faith in PIP. However, as I mentioned in a different message I blame the drilling co for the miss last summer not the PIP. Yet, these are just my opinions.
J
If one belives the 1st was a near miss because of angle I blame the drilling company for this. However, if one chooses the cheapest available this is what one usually gets.
Thanks,Jay
It's to bad we can't 'make the coin' to buy at these prices like others have been able to 'naked short' this and many other stocks!
Americano, wasn't it January when we were told months ago the results for the 100 barrel per day site would be operational?
DC320, Are these totals the # of shorts each holds or the total numer handled?
Thanks, Jay
Zagdad, I made a comment the other day about selling before the PR was released. In this message I mentioned the drillers, their faimiles and should have included all their friends to whom only a phone call is needed to alert them to the possibilites of the well being dry more so than it being a producer or vice versa. Therefore they would get out or buy before the spike. Hell, this happens all the time in small public companies where the drillers (the derrick hands, water truck drivers, acid trk drivers, etc.,)or their friends and families take positions to make a few extra bucks. They've the best seats in the house and would be fools not to play. We can't be so niave to think they won't play and that we and the true insiders are the only ones trying to make money on these plays.
Such is the game and I have faith in Tom's wanting to make us all money. However, not for a moment do I believe it is his job to not loose us money. It is ours to make or to loose and ours alone in this type of game. These holes we drill are deep and only a small deviance will result in a miss. But,,,when all works,,we profit big. I love this game and the entire oil and gas business. Then again I also love to play the ponies. Of which I picked and bet the winners of the Derby, the Preaknes and the Belmont this year! First time I've played the winner in each in the same year. Did I make money? I sure did, especially on the preakness where I picked Bernardini to beat Barbaro.
Later, Jay
I'm always interested in your opinion Badge share your thoughts with me.
Jay
All those claiming "last chance for cheap shares" .. .Step right up!!!!!!
"This is risky business in my humble opinion." Really? What was everyoes first clue?
People have been winning and loosing fortunes in this business for decades! This isn"t for the weak hearted!
Yup, kinda looks that way doesn't it?
Kinda looks like it did before the PR came out on the last well we drillied, doesn't it?
Got to give the drillers and their families time to buy or sell before issuing the PR to the public.
IMO uncertainty is warrented! Afterall we are trying to hit a vein over a mile beheath the surface. If he had stood up there and spoke like it was a sure thing that is when I'd have run for cover. However, your strategy or play is understood and respected, it is afterall your money to do with as you deem proper. If, and I will always say 'if' we hit at the Mesa I will let go of 40K of my Sis's shares @ $.30. You will be welcome to these and I'm sure you'll find a few others willing to let a few of there's go at this price so you might refill your position.
J
And,,,that buying opportunity may be created by those wanting it whether we hit or miss at Hardeman. Or, those wanting to secure some profits before the Mesa results on a MM fake could jump. JMO of course, but we are in the land of fake and fraud and almost anything goes.
Yes, and that door could be hard to get through for most!
I anticipate one hell of a fake early Monday morning from MM's to the downside, or it may not be a fake at all. Either way I expect a down start to trading. Granted if our rig workers know of a failure we will certainly see dumping early. BWTH, when one invests to see the bottom of the hole when that bottom is dry your money historicly is gone. This is how it has always worked in the 'Wildcatting' business, unless your an investor in a public company that has other prospects and money to pursue said prospects.
You were "duped" into buying this stock? How might I ask did this happen?
Yup, plus many will see even the smallest of upward or downward movement and try to time their sales before Tom unloads on the market. Granted I've no problem with him selling. However, it insures many of us will try to beat him to the punch. Thus, we won't see much of a jump in share price. Of course I've been wrong before and hope I will be again in this case.
Thank you Jman.
Jay
Welcome back Badge.
I'll donate 100 of my sister's position... LOL
I think we are trading with the price of Crude. I've been playing this stock since July of 05 and if, if I say it were to fall back to the .60 range you'd have a hard time getting much there. My truck backs up every time it drops into the .70's so take your chances my friend.
Damn, been away half a day and I come back to read where our primary digger for facts is supposedly in jail. What is going on?
I hear ya Jag. I'd guess we still have a lot of traders and not as many Longs as some think. I'm sitting here with 200K that I've been accumulating for a sister and have a base of .076. Without doubt some are taking some off the table to lessen the downside if we miss either or both of these attempts. Just my opinion of course. Myself, I'm waiting to see the bottom of both holes. If we miss em both I'll try and get out without loosing everything, but the bottom of the holes is what we're playing.
Jay
Jag, I always looked at TRSI as a Co. going into existing fields and with new technology trying to improve upon those wells already having been producing for in come cases decades. I look at EDEX as an Exploration or Wildcatting operation. Thye difference in my opinion like that of day and night.
Jay
Yes, they can do so.
Jay
Thanks Imperial.
As always words have defined meanings and when released by the Co., be it bad advise or an outright 'mistake' shareholders deserve updates as to why said events did/didn't happen. Thanks again for your astute observations and contributions.
Jay
After the last failure (dry?somewhat wet hole)we were down to .055, I know I bought a bunch there and it has since been up to .15. I'm not bitchin, that is damn near 200% and we hadn't even set a bit in the ground. If we all looked at the price of the share and then asked each other how many of us are buying right now the answer to the slide/flatline of the price to me is quite evident. Not many, if any of us are buying, we're either waiting to sell or waiting for the next couple wells to be drilled.
But then what the hell do I know?
GLTA
Price Dec. 1, 2006 . . . $.2700 LD I feel a hit on at least one of our drillings!
J
Sentinel, your statement "Management manufactured the dramatically lower starting point with their after hour release, guaranteeing that shareholders would have an even rougher go of it.."
Mine, is Howard released as and when he did to better insure some of his devoted 'LONGS' would not jump ship.
Jay
Tom announced these drillings seperately and personally I'd prefer the results as they are received.
J
Yup, they call it 'Wildcatting'
I'll throw my nickel in Smallfry. There is a producer or a dry hole. Water is definately not wanted!
After the reaction over the late filing last quarter I think it is safe to assume he will take all the time available to make sure it is right and release at the last minute. Of course this is just my opinion and everyone submitting one is just as valid as the next.
Personally I don't think it matters much just so long as it is on-time. Furthermore, I don't see where we'll have any real marked movement upward until after the 2nd Q release next year and then only if he maintains the growth he has produced the last 2 quarters
J.
OK, love your humor! Your response is as good as any. Did everybody save the predictions we all made several weeks ago on the pre drill price?
I missed the Fed. supply numbers this morning, but seeing the rise in both crude and ng I must assume the supply #'s were much more bullish than the analysts were expecting. Yesterday they were all expecting a very bearish announcement this AM and I haven't heard any new info from OPEC on their announced cut. Thus my assumption.
GLTUA . . . . . .
Where is the excitment we've all been expecting going into the rig moving on site? Here it is almost 2 hours after the market has opened less than 2 days before the bit hits the dirt and we haven't had 35K change hands and what has traded looks to me like mostly were sells.
What is up? Has faith been lost in Tom? Or, just conservative hands sitting back and saying "let's wait and make sure this time" . . .Just curious ! ! ! !
Sleeping were they?
Well, so goes the old saying "ya get what you pay for" and in our case it's . . . . .
I benefited from the last panic which took us to .055. I will grab somemore down there. I just wished I hadn't averaged up from there with .11, .12 and .13 buys. Oh well, I left the 16th and 32nd plays for the pinks so we'll have to play and pray!
I am afraid I agree with you. One more delay is about all even the 'longest' of longs will forgive and we'll see the low single digits.
Why do you assume such?
