Anyone have any clues for upcoming announcements? I’m wondering if we can expect any Ontario retail details. Their storefront at Queen and John is coming along nicely. Walked by again today to check in (did the whole creepy window gazing thing :-p).
Just saw this ad on a cab on King St in Toronto: https://imgur.com/gallery/G2GUVQx
The handle is for @SpinachFarms so I looked it up and it’s Spinach Cannabis and is owned by Cronos.
The logo is verrryyyy Tweed-ish. Reminds me of the Choom logo. All these brands borrowing from the OG haha
Their site is pretty funny: https://spinachcannabis.com/
Took 10 years to get here. Lots of hard work and personal sacrifice.
Thanks for the kind words. Means a lot!
Everyone has their own definition of retirement. I’m 33 with 3 software companies and getting to a point where I can generate a quarter mill + a year in passive income. I work 3 days a week.
CGC profits being the cherry on top. Point is, find what you love and it’s not work. Just your passion
Lolol. True
I’m excited as well. I can’t wait to hear what Bruce has to say.
In anticipation for the results I found this article that estimates an $85m revenue. Gross margin seems to be getting better as well.

So let’s see what happens also there’s a conference call for tmrw at 8:30am
Negative dealings? I’ve only heard great things! Do tell.
On an unrelated note, some of you might find this comical:

Sorry for the tangent :-p

Well great, demand is there which means revenue should be outstanding but this isn’t a good image for the industry.
If this is a capacity issue, why aren’t we hearing LPs announcing new capacity plans or progress details on new facilities?
Does anyone know what Canopy’s capacity status is? Are we still waiting for some facilities to come online? I’ve lost track of this.
This makes me smile ear to ear. Sweeeeet although I might add that they’ve signed on to source hemp for sale in America only from America suppliers. Not a big deal but did notice that in the reporting.
A $500 billion dollar industry internationally and Canopy is the premiere candidate to dominate. Yes, STZ May be small fry in comparison to the potential.
Only time will unlock this mystery :-p
Let’s hope the kids turn out well too. ie. RIV et al :-p lol
Uhm yeah I’ll pay 50% more for a product that I know who grew it, where and they they are legally liable in case I get sick for whatever reason.
You pay for what you get. For me that’s safety within the legal structure we have. Lots of people feel this way too.
Great day indeed. We broke the $40 finally. Hope this is a new floor
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.
:-p
$40 million
Ahahahaha.
Prime real estate. Veryyy expensive down town Toronto
Spotted more Tweed property at Queen and Peter in Toronto. What a huge space. Looks like it’s all theirs and being renovated reaaaaalll nicely.

Merry Christmas and happy festivus for the rest of ya :-p
All good :-p
A friend shared this, made me think of Canadian Coffee that some of you joked about.
50mg per serving haha. Apparently sold at a native reserve in Ontario.

Ikr! Serious butt hurt happening the past month.
$43 million first two weeks of legalization!

Yup just putting the reference for people who aren’t aware
Uhm I wouldn’t touch Aphria with a 50ft pole. Some serious fraud situation blowing up right now apparently. Something about buying a Jamaica property for $145 mill that’s basically a run down house.
The spend would be on placement and wall rental not on the quality of the artwork.
Also Canopy has their own internal brand team (so does Hikku, I have a friend who works on it) and I believe they are also working with Cossette in Toronto which is likely a couple million a year by any ad agency costing standard especially if they’re on retainer).
Also marketing accounts for things like the fashion show, pop-up events, product placement etc
My pleasure. Yeah they’re really striking, the lighting really enhances it. Simple, clean messaging.

Vinyl banner posters, floor to ceiling. There were 3 throughout the club.
Yup makes sense.
I was at a night club in Toronto this weekend and Tweed had posters everywhere. Didn’t realize they were throwing adverts that way as well. I had to snap photos because I was so excited heh
According to the fins I read they reported a 260% increase in revenue and a ....... ~7800% increase in operational loss. Lol.
I suspect they will have the worst numbers right after legal. At their scale they had to ramp up quickly to meet their demand.
I’m hoping CGC will post a much more balanced revenue and loss because their scaling happened quicker and was likely amortized over a longer period. Hence because their investment losses were recorded an earlier fins. We should see some wicked numbers showing them beating most other LPs.
That’s my guess at least.
Well...that would be spectacular! Although super unlikely
So far looks ok. Dems winning house but repubs won the senate.
Good day! We’re climbing. Weeeeeee
Don’t worry until you have to, my friend.
I’d give it until tomorrow or Monday, if no word of confirmation...we may have a problem. There’s been plenty of time for due diligence.
